Took off work to get a passport for my son. A sign indicated they were "closed for walk ins" today. No update on the website. Just a handwritten sign. Absolutely no one else to serve in the post office and a guy smugly told me that "the program was closed for the day." & refused to help. To top it off they told me to get it done at Round Lake Library which is also closed. Smug, rude & refused to work when there is no one else there. When post offices become obsolete and robots take their jobs, I won't feel the least bit sorry for them. read more

Maybe my GPS directed me to the back entrance? Even so, this location was practically deserted on a weekend morning. I was able to mail my priority package and was in and out in 5 minutes. This place is underutllized. It's a big space with a big parking lot. The USPS staff was pleasant. read more

I've already left a review about this horrendous place through google but i'll gladly do another for you yelp users to see. My son (15 months old) and I had a passport appt on 03/14, in which the female employee insisted my son sit on a stool with no safety measures whatsoever. My son fell and hit his head, and later passed out at urgent care. The employees never offered an apology and instead tried to save her ass by telling me the facility wasn't equipped to handle small children and their passport pictures. Today is 04/20 and i never heard back from the tort claims agent assigned my sons "incident" claim. The manager, Sean, also verbally admitted fault many times and stated his employee could have prevented the incident, yet neither he or the "claims agent" Kimberley ever reach out to me again. Second time in two years used USPS for overnight delivery. Failed both times. This time paid over $30 and delivery was not accomplished for approximately five days! If you have a an IQ over 60, recommend using a private company like FedEx or UPS, which I have used in the past always with good results. After yet another failure, was told by post office I could be reimbursed. Now they tell me due to duration of time, that is not true. I will try my best to never use the post office if possible. Privatization and reduction; use of UPS, FedEx or other Private Companies who so what they promise and take responsibility for their actions. read more

The man that works here is very nice, but he gave me the wrong passport renewal paper which I later found out during my appointment. I scheduled the appointment on the wrong day, simple mistake, I would have understood and left if I realized sooner. Instead the two women on duty took their time laughing to each other about the mistake and making fun of the situation right to my face. All I could do was glare and not entertain their childish rude manner as I tried to take deep breaths and calm down. Not only that but if you don't have a check you have to pay over $100 more. Long line, one window. Finally a bell is rung and 3 min later another clerk shows up. But wait: she's not ready! Takes her sweet time positioning the drawer, moving some pens around and when she is all set: window is now open. Other times two windows are open, but lines are long. If someone has a package going overseas; forget it, pull up a chair. Then you have the passport apps. I try to use the one in Libertyville, they tend to have 3 windows staffed and seem to move a bit quicker. Unfortunately, if I have a pink pick up card or vacation hold; have to come here and I dread it every single time! read more

Flat rate boxes for the win! I will never shop packages any other way and neither should you! The process is super easy! You pick out your box or envelope, pack it, seal it and ship it. The boxes come in a variety of sizes and they have envelopes as well. You may want to being your shipping supplies (e.g. newspaper, peanuts, bubble wrap, etc.) with you. They do sell shipping tape in tan or clear if you forgot yours. The tan costs $3.49 and the clear is a little over $4. The other advantages of the flat rate box are that it ships priority mail 2 day and it includes a tracking number and $50 insurance. The woman who helped me ship my package was knowledgeable and friendly. It was not busy since I went on a week day in the late morning. This location can get pretty busy later in the afternoon so keep that in mind. The hours aren't the most convenient either. They are only open until 6 Monday through Thursday and until 4:30 Fridays. It can get crowded later in the evening when people are getting off work. If you're looking to ship something, give the flat rate boxes a try. The commercial does not lie and if it fits, it ships! read more

This is my go to location if I need to send out anything via the US postal service. The parking lot is much larger than most locations and is more logical and easier to navigate around during busy times. I am not sure if the actual facility is larger than most locations, however it seems that the waiting room is much more spacious and well laid out (many locations seem to have working tables in the middle of where the line forms, so it's confusing). Processing packages here has been faster that other locations both due to the line moving faster and from employees processing customers quickly and efficiently. read more

Nice people and clean with quick service. The sign on the door that stated "no dogs allowed " bothered me because what if someone has a service animal? I'm concerned about their prejudice. This is unprofessional and I hope they remove it as soon as possible. read more

Very nice USPS office its located near a target for those not sure of its location! The employees are very nice and its not busy at all during lunch time on week days! There were a few people but the line moved super fast. Big plus for me that its located near other shopping too. read more

Worst post office in the area. I've NEVER had a problem using priority envelopes for my eBay / Etsy business and yet the women working today told me she wouldn't accept my flat rate package envelope because it wasn't laying flat (I was mailing a small jacket). Uuuuum what? I've had way bulkier things ship in those packages and they've been delivered and all has been well. Clearly this was just a matter of her personal preference and not wanting to mail my package. Honestly f$@# this post office. I needed to mail this today, but instead I'm going home to apparently cancel the order because I couldn't ship it in time. Thanks lady! read more

Update: This post office literally LOST two packages, including one that was 2 day priority, with no explanation. Do not go here if you want a package to actually get to it's recipient. I wish I could give zero. I have not one, but two packages lost now, both are time sensitive. I should have known to use Fed Ex and will not make this mistake again. One was going to San Diego and has been at 9 different facilities, including San Diego, then back to Cincinnati, etc.etc. The other I PAID EXTRA for 2 Day PRIORITY mail, 8 days ago, and the rep at USPS said it's just missing. I don't know how much if any is related to this facility, and the facility seemed clean and user-friendly, but this is beyond frustrating so I'm posting to warn others that perhaps since USPS has taken on additional Amazon business they cannot accommodate regular customers and in this instance have proved to be totally incompetent. read more

The employees here are the stereotypical civil servants that just do enough and not one thing more. I get better service at the Secretary of State Drivers facility. My God, can you people move any slower and strike up meaningless conversations with retirees and housewives who have and endless amount of time on their hands. Hurry up you idiots I have places to be and it does not include standing in line listening to your boring life story. Go to Libertyville or Lincolnshire post offices much faster and less pedantic talk. read more

Used the kiosk to buy stamps. Machine worked fine and I did not have to wait in the long line of people sending out holiday packages. Place was clean and the line was moving fast. Over all just and average post office. read more

If the attitude and service of this location improved dramatically, it would be raised to the level of awful. Pretty much any time you go into this place, there's never more than 1 person working. Perhaps my favorite memory is asking for a small piece of tape for the edge of my envelope. In barely understandable English she told me I was supposed to pay for the tape. read more

While the ladies who work here are fine, this is the most understaffed post office in the area. Always slow and very clumsy. The patrons here are also quite of high maintenance variety that makes waiting in line even more annoying. read more

I would write more for this place. But why bother, because that is the attitude they have here, "I could do more, but why bother". Basically my point is, not like we really have a choice here, even when the post office is extremely lacking we are still forced to come here when we see an orange paper slip asking us to pick up our package. The worst is when you don't even see that slip, and you are wondering where your package is, because tracking says it's been delivered!!?? at 5:48 I hear one worker telling someone in the back to go shut the front doors, FOR REAL? It clearly says you close at 6PM, this type of attitude is repulsive. On many occasions my package is clearly small enough to fit in a parcel box, but nope, still got a slip asking me to go pick it up. Sometimes they don't even know where my package is, and takes 15 min just to find it. I dread coming here, but then again, no other choice. read more

Worse post office ever. Lazy, Lazy and Lazy. The supervisor is the worse. They do less than the minimal. Sometimes I don't get mail because they're too lazy. They stuff packages into my box and then you can't get it out or they are damaged. Libertyville is so much better. I use ups instead because of this place. First of all, the sale starts up front. Without the public bringing in packages and paying for them to be shipped, the back and the people that sort the packages would not have a job. It takes 10-12 people to be in the line waiting to give them their money to ship a package before they decide to ring the "bell" for someone to come up front and help. When this person does come up front it's not urgent! They like to walk real slowly, taking their time getting their cash register ready, removing the "window closed" sign they like to stick in your face as your waiting.. I would drive 100 miles to avoid these mad women that unfortunately work in this place. They act like they are doing you a favor giving them your hard earned money to ship a package. Rude, obnoxious women that work in here. Avoid giving any of these mad people one red penny from your pocket! Choose another carrier and save yourself the brain damage from dealing with these broken English speaking women at all costs! read more

Worst Post Office ever. What is wrong with this Asian woman. Without us (the customer) she wouldn't have a job!!!!! She things she knows the "rules" I've asked for a receipt multiple times now and she constantly says "we don't do that!" Excuse me, then why does EVERY OTHER POST OFFICE give one by request but usually they always ask and I don't even have to ask. I've talked to Postmasters and District Managers and they ALL say that she is wrong. What is the world coming to!!?? The worst post office I have ever dealt with. They failed to deliver my mail for over 2 weeks, and they lost my package stating they don't know what happened with it. Nobody in that building deserves a job there are 3 people at the front desk talking with each other with a line full of customers and only one lady working. read more

This postal office had the worst customer service of all the postal offices in the area. Every time I ask for a receipt for a package that I paid online to ship - I get an attitude (i.e. "we don't give receipts"). I get this treatment from different employees over there so it's not an isolated case. This never happens in other offices in the area (Lincolnshire, Libertyville, Deerfield). Seriously - it takes literally 5 seconds, for customers peace of mind.... why the need to be so unpleasant. read more

If I had a chance not going to this post office, I would. Unpleasant atmosphere, slow and not cooperating staff. Parcels in the drop box may be dropped off in the earliest morning, but they would never be scanned before 7pm at night! And if you handle a parcel to the clerks, they would NOT give you a receipt- they just refuse doing it. Yes, refuse point blank - what an attitude! And several times my parcels dropped at the drop off box were scanned more than a week after. Whenever I have a chance, I drive miles away to ship my parcels in another USPS location. read more
