Fantastic location... Little bit hidden, but this is my favorite USPS to go to. It's usually not super crowded but all the workers inside here are amazing! They are super friendly, very hospitable, and so helpful when it comes to any questions about shipping. I come in here several times a month and it never fails that everybody greets you when you come in the door... Looks you in the eye with a smile and ask how they can help. I was being helped by a friendly post office worker when one of metal shades of the luminaire crashed to the ground. Thank God no one was standing under it because it would've caused some serious injury. United States Postal Service, DO BETTER!!! It's also my understanding this location has reported MOLD? I surprisingly had a good experience at this post office location. There is plenty of parking and upon walking in there was a line of about 4 people which moved extremely quickly. The ladies who worked up front were polite and patient and had a good attitude. I would definitely recommend this location as opposed to others I've been to in the area. Only con is that they did not have a self service option for sending packages but can't complain since the line went smoothly. read more

This USPS is one of the best I've experienced. I went off of Google reviews, because Yelp didn't really have any well rated post offices near me with more than a few reviews. I had to mail out 40+ thank you cards from our wedding and also send in a self-addressed envelope and money order to request additional copies of our marriage certificate. I am mail-challenged since I hardly ever need to go the post office, and I was dreading going. I was able to go at 10:30 on a Monday, and the line was not long at all. I was helped by two different clerks, and both were very good. I didn't feel rushed at all. John was especially helpful and personable, and he made the experience much easier. Whenever I need to go back to the post office, I'm definitely going to stop here first. read more

Atrocious customer service. Terrible, no good, very bad user experience. They lost a package, claimed it was delivered (it was not), and then fought me every inch of the way to get any resolution on my claim I filed with the national office even when Consumer Affairs wound up getting (pointlessly and uselessly) involved. I had to call multiple times each day for over a week for updates, and I never got any suitable updates. So I called the national office every time I got off the phone with Greenbriar and found out interesting things like even though there was NO RESOLUTION ON MY COMPLAINT, Greenbriar had gone ahead and closed out my complaint. They couldn't even give me a straight answer on which postman it was that claims he (or she) delivered my package. The only thing they did was waste my time on the phone and try to obstruct the complaint in every single way they could. This is why we can't have nice things - USPS will lose them in the mail. read more

One the worst experiences I have ever had trying to mail packages. I have two packages to mail and will be taking them to UPS after horrible treatment at this Post Office. At 10am on 12/14/2023 I brought in two boxes to ship, I like to use the Post Office to support them over other shipping companies. There were two people in line in front of me and one clerk working the desk. Another worker came out to the front of the office and helped the people in front of me and then waved me up to the counter. I carried my boxes to the counter and then the woman who waved me up said oh no, you're not next, you will have to wait. So I pick up my boxes again to get back in line, but then the other worker, who was checking out another customer said that the woman who called me forward was not actually the right type of employee to help me and that I would just have to wait until she finished helping the other customer and then she would help me. At this point I have now wait 40min and there were only two people ahead of me when I first arrived. Finally, the only worker (the second woman who called me forward and then said she couldn't help me went back to the back of the office) finishes with the other customer and asks how she can help me. She then looks at my boxes and says that she can't mail them because I have to hand write the addresses onto the boxes (instead of the notecards I had on them). Both employees I interacted with were very rude and the one who was the right type of employee to help customers complained to the customers the whole time I was there about how she was supposed to be taking her lunch at 10am but she was going to be nice and not leave the now long line of customers. She also spent 20 minutes bashing other post office locations for only having two clerks and how rude they are, but I have never had such terrible service at any other location. I have been going to this post office for years and have always had excellent customer service experiences here. I have witnessed on a few occasions, how they very politely and professionally handle problem customers. There are lines just like any other post office. If I have ever had a issue with a package getting lost, they are very professional and have handled any issues I have ever had that same day. Best post office ever! read more

The Greenbriar Station is the worst post office in Houston. We've asked multiple times not to receive mail not personally addressed to us (which would exclude junk mail). At his request, I gave my carrier a letter to this effect and for 8 years, he kindly abided by our wishes. Then about 3 months ago, we began receiving tons of junk mail from a new postal carrier who I saw placing these in our mailbox. I told her of my agreement with my regular carrier. She stated that she is required to deliver all junk mail and a letter from me stating that I don't want this does not matter. In the weeks that followed, she began putting multiple Wednesday Houston Chronicle circulars in my mailbox out of spite. In return, I put them in the outgoing mailbox. Everyday she stuffs them back in my mailbox. Therefore, we have a daily "battle" of the circulars/junk mail going to-and-fro that continues even now. I wrote letters of complaint to the Greenbriar Station which were ignored until just recently. Ms. Flanagan, the Station Manager, called to tell me that her carriers are required to deliver all mail and that there is nothing a recipient can do to stop or refuse mail. She also told me that delivering junk mail is the "bread and butter of the post office's business" and that if they lose this business the "post office employees will not be able to feed their families"! She then asked me if I wanted her and the carriers to lose their jobs for not delivering junk mail. This pathetic attempt at placing a guilt trip on me was laughable since why they would lose their jobs by following the rules in USPS Domestic Mail Manual which allow a recipient to request withholding of certain mail (see USPS Domestic Mail Manual #508 Recipient Services 1.1.4, not to mention 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 which clearly allow a recipient to refuse mail)?? It is very strange that the Greenbriar Station is not required to follow or be familiar with USPS rules. Ms. Flanagan's stubborn and false insistence that an addressee has no way to opt out or refuse mail (despite clear USPS rules to the contrary) really makes me suspect that there is fraud at Greenbriar Station or that they have some kind of performance incentive which is linked to the amount of mail that they deliver (or at least don't come back to the station with). I am in the midst of reporting her to Houston Postmaster Ellis (her boss), US Post Office's Consumer Affairs and the USPS Headquarters. Stay tuned! The women working here are always very sweet -- a disposition that would be excruciatingly hard for me to maintain under their working conditions. In the summers, it can get pretty hot in there. There seems to only be two women behind the counter, thanks I'm sure to the financial problems the USPS is facing. Another man usually comes out and talks to people about using the Automated Postal Center, and he is really helpful and sweet. He's rushed out to help me with the door a few times after spotting me juggling multiple packages. I am a huge fan of using the postal service and tremble in fear when I think of a future when I'm forced to use FedEx or UPS constantly. How much would it cost to mail a letter? $4? read more

Yay, this post office has an automated package weigh and pay station. Saves a ton of time and very convenient. Note: If your package is a little thick and you try to shove it in the mail slot, then decided that you might have ripped your envelope due to the stress, then the mail lady happens to open the door to the mail room at that exact same moment and you see your envelope laying on top of the stack and you want to peek back to flip it over to make sure that it didn't rip, DON'T DO IT! You will encounter a snippy postal worker who will ever so curtly rip your face off for trying to cross the threshold into the mail room. It's a no brainer and of course she should have gone ape shit on my ass, but she could have asked if she could help me. It was kind of like getting whistled at by the life guard at the pool for running. It's their job, but you're embarassed anyway. read more

This is absolutely the worst worst worst post office I have ever been to! They don't even carry stamps! How is that possible? You are a post office. I went at 4:45 PM on a random Tuesday in April. I waited in line for 30 minutes because they only had one person working the desk. I get to the front and I asked to buy some stamps. The guy had none. None! I had come here during Christmas time as well to buy stamps and they didn't have any then. I just assumed it was because of the holidays. But here we are in April and they still don't have stamps. This Post Office on Greenbriar is the BEST! Keaundria and John were the staff members working today, and both of them are exceptional employees of whom USPS should be very proud to call their own. Both Keaundria and John go above and beyond to make customers feel respected and valued at the Post Office (a trait that is unfortunately rare to find these days - especially at other USPS locations). Before going to the Post Office, I was not in a great mood, and I was particularly dreading my visit due to past experiences at USPS locations. I was pleasantly surprised when I found that there were two smiling employees at the front desk (and the line was short, which is always a plus). While Keaundria was helping me with my package, John overheard her searching for tape, and he went out of his way to find her some... Great teamwork! I noticed that they were incredibly helpful with answering customers' questions and treated everyone with utmost respect. Their positive attitude was contagious, as it put me in a better mood, too! All the customers at this location said that the Greenbriar Post Office is the only one they will go to, because it is truly the best. I have had other positive experiences there, as well, so I can attest to this. I hope Keaundria and John see this, because I am truly overwhelmed with gratitude! I haven't seen anything quite like the Greenbriar branch of the U.S. Post Office. First of all, I went this morning to pickup a package that should have been left at my house, either with me as I stay home all day or with the leasing office. Well, the only pleasant dealing would occur when I got the package with no trouble and no wait. Next I attempt to purchase a few stamps from the automated kiosk out front. "Service not available at this time." So I come back when the inside area opens. I am five people from the front. Only one clerk is working the line. However 2 different employees come out to ask if they can assist anybody with the automatic machine! I have cash which the machine won't take. Nearly 25 minutes later I get my turn - the $20 bill is too big for the guy to break! I WENT TO FEDEX AND HAPPILY PAID $10 (versus $1) I fully recommend to everyone that they do the same. read more

I like this place because it's conveniently located very close to where I live. The good things stop there though. The parking lot is a bit run-down and the lines can build up, but the worst part is one specific scenario which I had experienced here. I came in one day to send back a package with a prepaid shipping label printed and was hoping the clerk would tape it up for me and send it on its way. To my surprise, some man supervising the lines (who works there) came up to me and told me they don't have tape at the counter and that the only tape they had were the rolls they sold. How could you not have tape but you have tape to sell? He told me I had to either buy that tape and tape the package myself, or I'd have to go home and tape it because they wouldn't accept my package. The 899 out of 900 other times I've done this at shipping places, they would just tape it up for me. Needless to say, I took myself to the Fedex Shipping Center down the street and they were happy to get my package taped and shipped in less than 2 minutes. read more

I've been to some slow post offices in my time, but this is by far the slowest. Three times this week, I've been stuck in slow moving lines being serviced by just one clerk. According to two gentlemen in line with me today, they used to have a clock hanging in the lobby but it has been removed. The consensus among the several frustrated customers in line was that it had been removed so that you didn't know exactly how much time you'd been wasting there. That may or may not be true, but it accurately sums up the mood. In other post offices I've been to, they routinely ask if there are people in line that are just waiting to pick up mail and then expedite the service for them so that the clerk can focus on customers making purchases. I've never seen that happen here, and that's pretty frustrating when there's only one clerk who's working as fast as she can and all you need to do is pick up a package. To the single intrepid clerk that I see there each time: Ma'am, I salute you. I don't know how you handle such an unrelenting workload with such patience and good grace. They need to hire you some help! read more

I usually wouldn't write a review of post office, but this is my go-to P.O. on the weekends. I have to admit that I am the person who will take an hour and cash myself out at the grocery store so I definitely like the self-service checkout at this post office. You can get the envelope and box you like (no tape, though, so bring your own) and mail letters, packages, buy stamps, etc. There might be a line of a few people but it's usually moves pretty quick. read more

Excellent service, professional helpful staff every time I visit. Today they run out of "generic" stamps (it's holiday season!) that don't display Maria and Jesus. I needed to send professional letters and was reluctant to use stamps with religious motives. The guy suggested me other solution - to buy stamps at the machine - those had just holiday motive. This may sound surprising given the other reviews I have seen. I have used this post office twice and the service has been very helpful and quick both times. The second time I mailed my laptop in to a warranty center for repairs and forgot that I left my lap top case there. I flew out to a conference in Chicago the next day, and when I got back the post office had delivered the laptopcase to my house! They must have used my return address from my laptop mailing and delivered it to me. I can't ask for better service than that. read more

I highly recommend that if you drop off a pre labeled package at this location you get a drop off reciept. Yes you can request this, but it requires you wait in line. I promise if you do not you have a 30-40% of the package status being "never recieved" by this location. They will encourage you to just "leave it on the counter"....DONT do it. To my demise, instead of leaving my package at the door, I find yet another slip. I show up an hour before they close and no one is here to answer their "quick service door". This post office is home to the laziest group of liars I have ever had the displeased of "doing business with." This past Wednesday, I sent an envelop priority flat rate mail, with the guarantee it would arrive by Friday. Great! $5.60 well spent to deposit checks from my company to my bank branch which is located at 4000 Greenbriar. I mention this because my bank is literally less than 1000 feet from this post office branch. When I went to check my tracking number Friday evening I was in for a surprise though! A notice was left at my bank instead of my envelope being delivered! Now, unless the building burned down, which I checke and it hasn't, there is absolutly no way there was no one in the bank to accept the mail. So I got on the phone with the re-delivery line and they agreed there was no reason my envelope shouldn't have been delivered and assured me I could pick it up from the 3740 greenbriar branch of the post office where it is currently being held captive. Just to be sure, I called the branch last night and spoke to an employee who basically told me "not my route so I don't care and I'm not going to help." Fast forward to this morning when I show up to pick up my envelope and am greatest by a surly older gentleman who even after takin my reciept and government ID refused to look for my envelope, let alone give it to me so I could actually deposit my checks. He then told me that if I would leave, drive the 1000 ft to the bank, he would follow me an delver my envelope to me there. Guess who lied! It is my opinion that this particular branch of the postal system is misusing government funds, failing to deliver mail, based on other comments stealing mail, and is just in general full of lazy government employees looking for their free pension. read more

I want to place a complaint to this postal service. We have been at this location for over 20yrs. We get mail droped in the mail slot which puts the mail over the floor. This is an office with attorneys & insurance agents. We have out going mail which the past few months does not get picked up cause the carrier doesn't like to climb 12 steps. We had a great mail carrier who came up and picked up our mail and droped off mail. Why can't we get mail delivered to these offices? We never have a set carrier for our office so we do not get the postal service we need. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS POST OFFICE...unless you have time to waste dealing with incompetent people with poor customer service skills. My husband and I went to the Greenbriar branch today because we wanted to see if a money order we mailed a week ago was cashed because it had been not received by my mother in law. First we were told to speak with someone at the front of the office (where packages are picked up) to see if they could help us. We meet with an elderly African American women and explained to her that we wanted to find out if the money order we had purchased was cashed. She informed us that her supervisor was on a teleconference call and she is the only person who could look up that information. We were told that the teleconference call would be completed in 10-15 minutes so we decided to wait. We waited over an hour!!!!!! During our ridiculous wait time, the elderly woman told us that her supervisor did not know how to look up to see if the money order was cashed and that she was calling multiple offices to get instructions on how to do so. Why does the supervisor not know what she is doing?!? After wasting over an hour of our lives the supervisor final came to speak to us. The supervisor was an African American female with a long weave. She informed us that she thought they wanted her to see if the money order was good, meaning that it was legit. THAT IS NOT WHAT WE ASKED FOR! She proceeds to tell us that she could not look to see if the money order had been cashed or not and that we would need to call this completely bogus number (that we tried to call) to find out if the money order was cashed. In addition, she was very unprofessional and rude which ruined our day. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS POST OFFICE! By the way, I am an African American. read more

They WILL NOT answer the phone. I called multiple times throughout the day and it just rang and rang and rang until finally I had to hangup. No person, no message, nothing. I simply needed to know if my package ended up at this post office (which is closest to my home) and was waiting for me to pick up as one USPS employee told me, or if I needed to contact the sender. I was also told that the local carrier had reported that it was delivered and a notice was left - there was no notice. Had it been stolen or lost? Was it at the post office on Greenbriar? Was my mailperson aware of whether or not it had been delivered or attempted delivery? Why will noone answer my calls? I called the main USPS customer service number and was told they would open a case for investigation. I ended up having to take off work early so I could go by in person to get assitance.
