Review for Jackson Heights USPS (37th Ave Location) I'm very disappointed with the service at this USPS branch. There were only two employees working, and yet many people were waiting in line for a long time. The staff were not working efficiently, and there was no sense of urgency to move things along. Customers deserve better service -- especially at a busy location like Jackson Heights. Management really needs to add more staff and improve service speed. read more

We came here to stop my Mom's mail as she passed away. She lived in Bella Terra so we do not want a reason to return there as we have finished emptying her apartment and gave back the mailbox key. This location gave us a moving kit to fill out and asked for a death certificate. So we came back the next day with the death certificate, than they asked for power of attorney. Seems they don't know what they are doing. Well since legally power of attorney ends at death. My sister said never mind. I guess if they want her mail and bills they can have them as for us it is a bit too much at this time. To go back and forth with a moving kit as she moved to heaven and I highly doubt that the Jackson Post Office delivers there. read more

It is a Post Office What do you expect? The Ritz Hotel? Clean. Sometimes there are 10 people on line with one clerk or two customers with one clerk. Never waited more than ten minutes. Luck of the draw. What bothers me is that front parking lot with twelve spaces that are almost always occupied You have to watch cars backing up and speeding cars coming from behind and drivers are not always careful. They need to redesign it as this is always ready to have car accidents. read more

This post office has terrible hours, people Lin up to get in and losing mail or packages seems to be a goal rather than a rare happenstance. The one exception is our mail carrier "D" who does a stellar job. read more

I don't know why all the complaint about customer service. I'm new in Jersey and I've already visited this USPS location more than a handful of times in the last three months and each visit was pleasant. Sure, the employees aren't all smiles, rainbows and butterflies there (neither are the customers in line), but they have been incredibly patient with everyone, very informative, and very helpful. Today, I was serviced by Marci and she was absolutely wonderful. I had used an overnight envelope that looked similar to the Priority Mail® Flat Rate Envelope I needed and was glad she verified with me if I had wanted to mail my item overnight. That would have been an annoyingly unnecessary expense if neither of us had caught that. She handed me the correct envelope and okayed I step to the side to fill it out. After walking away from my spot to toss the first envelope in the recycle bin, to avoid angry stares, I stood back in line. It was my fault anyway for using the wrong envelope. Marci saw me in the back and waved me forward, telling me kindly, "You don't have to wait in line. I can help you next." Now, all that is excellent customer service. For passport photos, if you can't get to the post office before 3pm M-F or 12pm Sat, go to AAA. That's what I did. The gentleman next to Marci had previously assisted me with mailing my passport renewal items. Priority Mail® Flat Rate Envelope. $7.35. Comes with a tracking number. so I have a package coming to me for christmas from a buddy of mine and it was handed off to usps(it was shipped via ups mail innovations) and is listed as 'Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending' since the 14th..and has not updated since. heres the thing, I had one other package from said buddy, same origin point, same couriers etc, IT showed up. this one has not. ups is giving me the runaround(will be leaving them a yelp review later) and local usps says they dont have the package. very disappointed. SOMEONE lost this package and no one's owning up to it. will provide tracking info etc to usps support should it be requested of me via pm. update, 12/21/2021 4:10 pm: usps customer service has reached out to me via email and are working with me, and have absolved the jackson office of any responsibility as its clear UPS dropped the ball and are in point of fact still in possession of my package. I'll be sending ALOT more packages via usps over ups now. read more

The line always long, the clerks seemed overworked and tired. I believe they tried so hard to smile to customers but they can't The place is the mess from inside to out side: cluster, pot holes etc.. The office should be nice and friendly, but that place like a scary place It should be move away from this location .Please help these workers and customers more enjoy able while working and doing their business Who is responsible let it happened ? I have been waiting for my contact lenses to be delivered for three weeks. I've contacted the eye doctor several times and today I finally got a tracking number. UPS says they delivered the package to the local post office on December 9th at 4:45pm. The USPS website says only that they have received pre-delivery information on December 8th. So I called the post office. I was patronized and told that the package wasn't there (even though I was never given the opportunity to provide details). I was told I needed a tracking number from UPS. When I told the man I already had one and was already in contact with UPS, he told me again that the package wasn't at his post office (is the whole place empty??? because how else could you know?) and that UPS was wrong. Then he hung up on me. Listen. I know you're busy. I know that your job probably sucks. I know it's the holidays. But if you're not ready to help someone, don't answer the phone. And if you do answer the phone and you can't or won't help that person? Tell them it would be best to come into the desk. Absolutely repulsive attitude from the man I spoke to. I will go out of town to an office before I step foot in the Jackson PO ever again. read more

The mail delivery is horrible...for years now I and a few of my neighbors have complained......my mail was getting distributed all over the neighborhood! I've even written and called Washington...my mail gets wrapped and reviewed by post master and I've gotten other people's mail in it ....my mail has been pink wrapped so many times they just say it and not do anymore! I've had my w2 sent to neighbors missing bills and invitations ..... is this not a federal job? I understand mistakes and human error but this is consistent! read more

Tried to make an appointment for passports on multiple occasions to no avail. The passport guy Larry either never returned my call or left me waiting on hold for 17 minutes while he went for his appointment book. When are they going to fix the damn potholes in the parking lot of this dump? They have been there for years and nobody who works there cares. I've told them numerous times. I had countless problems with this post office for delivering packages. Today I had a package that was out for delivery and at 5:42 received a text that this package had a delivery attempt and was now being held at the post office via my request. There was no attempt to delivery this package. I say this with absolute certainty because I was home with a car in the driveway and no even rang the doorbell. Other packages were delivered to my home in my mailbox and for once were not shoved into the box. I can't tell you how many times I have had packages shoved in the box that it damaged the packages while getting them out. I have also had live strawberry plants delivered shoved in the box and they were destroyed. This post office was lead under the leadership of Bill and it was awful. He was very disrespectful to women and I am glad that he has retired. I hope under new leadership that his postal carriers will do a better job and not be so lazy or so careless when delivering customer's mail. read more

This post office is the absolute pits. It's a governmental agency that doesn't open its doors until 10 am and closes its doors at 4:30 pm. Any normal 9 to 5 worker is not given an opportunity to utilize this post office. There's a machine in the lobby that is supposed to dispense stamps but gets stuck all the time and the clerks inside the post office tell customers "just bang it a few times." The drawer on the lobby machine is supposed to receive small packages. Instead, it is always in a locked position and cannot be used by customers. And why are the postal workers using the parking spaces in the side parking lot instead of using the huge parking lot in the back of the post office? I see the same cars backed into those parking spaces every day. This forces customers to use the parking lots of Bank of America and St. Al's Church. As busy as this post office is, why are there only 1 or 2 clerks helping customers up front? The lines and wait times at this post office are comical. This post office needs some major overhauling and needs to teach their clerks how to properly handle customers' packages instead of piling them on top of each other or throwing them into bins! read more
