This is the absolute coolest small-town post office in the world! The ladies and man who work here…read moreare always laughing and smiling. I have only seen one man here, and he always wears his post office shorts. He has legs like pipe cleaners. LOL No matter whether they are busy or not, they always make unrushed time to help you, and you can tell that they genuinely like their jobs. I mentioned to one of the older men, who is always laughing and teasing them, how happy they all were, and he said I should be careful because their smiles probably mean they are plotting against me. LOL WE APPRECIATE AND LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

The post office is tucked into a plantation village on Kunia Road, just look for the blinking light. Why is this me favorite post office? The absence of a line helps. I could probably drive here in less time that it takes to stand in line at a few of the closer locations. The mix of people is another plus. Because it is all outdoors, and set up on a lanai, the customers have a tendency to stay long enough to talk story. Nice to have a slow moment during a day. It is also the Postal clerk, who is as friendly as her clientele, and is happy to chat when she has a moment, but is all business and efficiency when she needs to get through the occasional line. So the next time you are grumbling about the lines at the post office in Wahiawa or Mililani, take a detour down Kunia Road. Take in the view of the mountain, breathe in the fresh air, and slow your pace in a more pleasant way.

They KNOW what to do and they service fast! It is customers who may hold up the line because we may NOT know what we're doing. So they have to EXPLAIN IT TO US. Like they did with us today. And I felt so bad because it seemed like the Clerk Jesse was small kine annoyed with us because we didn't know anything. But it's NOT OUR FAULT! We haven't sent anything out thru the post office in over 10 years! Last time was when my mom WAS alive living Oregon back in 2012. ‍ Last time they had signs and cost posted up for us to see. Maybe I didn't look well but, it would help if they did display it more in the opening area. However, he WAS REALLY PATIENT AND VERY KIND because he did answer all of our questions & helped us choose what we needed. Overall tho, I'd say this place is the best place to come to for mail out things because they're QUICK & not SO BUSY. Ok that's about it. OH! But know the parking in front is kind of small. ROOMY but small. But there is more parking on the BACK-SIDE on the right of the Post Office. So IF ANYONE HAS MAIL TO SEND... COME HERE! Thanks for reading and Happy Holidays!

The Waialua Post Office location for passport services is awesome!…read more If you search online for other passport service locations they either have 1) very limited days offered for services, so very limited and far out days available, or 2) services offered 5 to 6 days/wk but very limited appointment times open until almost 2 months out. I was shocked to find this north county, country location had the best availability - next week! I could get there during the day from my Waipahu location in only 30 minutes and the appointment time required only 30 minutes for the two applications being made. It all seemed too good to be true. But I prepared well, I thought, for my appointment and proceeded forth on that day. Got to the Post Office 25 minutes early, yeah! Looked for my application folder - panic! It's not in the car - realized I walked out the house without it! After a panicked phone call home got my husband to meet me half-way, near the Schofield Army Base, with the package and I got back to Waialua Post Office at 11:40. My appointment was for 11:30. I went in, only one customer being served, told the postal worker I was there for passport services, he called out to the back and a smiling lady came forward and greeted me. I apologized for being late and told her I hoped she could still take me and she said no problem. She was efficient and polite. I had forgotten to bring photocopies of my personal ID (drivers license) and birth certificate. No problem. They make them there for a minimal fee. They also can provide passport photos but I'd brought my own. I was able to pay for expedited service, the postal service processing fee and a postal money order to the US agency that actually issues the passport using my debit card (no credit cards allowed). I asked for the kind lady's name again and she said with a laugh, "Melba, like the toast."I told her, "No, like the great singer Melba Moore!" She didn't know that reference but I told her to look on YouTube and that every time I thought about today's experience I would remember my Melba Moore in Waialua. I was done and out of there by 12 noon thanks to Melba's kindness and efficiency! Great job Melba! I told her I would need to return and repeat this process for my granddaughter after we received her birth certificate from the mainland. Melba walked me briefly through that process for a minor to insure I'd be prepared. All in all, a pleasurable and worthwhile experience! It feels really great when two human beings can interact and it's a helpful and mutually kind and respectful experience! Melba, you set a positive spirit for the rest of my day - Mahalo!

Making an appointment is easy online and probably a better choice for those who live in the central/ northern part of the island. My appointment was right on time as scheduled. Staff were super friendly and efficient. Make sure to have all your paperwork and requirements completed. Quick and easy. If you need an initial passport or getting one for your kids, then this place is an awesome choice.
