Dropped off a package this morning on my way into work. The cashier was just ending a customers transaction. After wishing each other a good day. I was called up to the counter. I gave the cashier my envelop. She asked if there was anything liquid, perishable, fragile, and so on with the questions. It's paperwork. Nothing dangerous. After answering the questions and hitting a few buttons on the pin pad. I was able to pay, she took the envelope, and the transaction was complete. Super quick. read more

Update to my last review. To recap: I mailed a certified letter with return receipt to LA IRS in Baton Rouge on May 8. It finally was delivered on June 11. Went from Austin to Baton Rouge to Houston back to Austin then to Baton Rouge on to Houston back to Baton Rouge then to New Orleans back to Baton Rouge where it was delivered after 34 days in transit. Found a way to pay them directly will never have to send them a letter. More lost business for the Post Office. read more

The workers are lucky to have a job! I guess they don't remember working for the post office is a privilege. It's a good job, It's steady and it pays well! Also "they are inside with air conditioning!) I frequent many post offices in the area (Austin Dripping Springs)and notice much friendlier customer service and many more smiles. This is our second time to this location. They just did a huge parking lot remodel. This location is not conducive for the elderly my client 92, part of the handicapped is on a slope very difficult for her, no handicap entrance whatsoever so very difficult for her to hold the doors open. The staff today was not the friendliest or patient with an elderly person. Getting in and out of the parking lot is very confusing no arrows they have the mailbox drop off right in front of the building where there's a crosswalk and cars are going by. read more

Went to go pick up my mail at 1 o'clock today and was told they had left for the day? They? What is going on this is unbelievable. I don't think that would happen at UPS or FedEx. Hilarious. read more

Why have an opening time if you do not open at that time? If you say you open at 8:30 but ignore the bell and don't open the window then do you actually open at 8:30? No one is coming to the post office AT OPEN if they had another choice. I understand that staffing issues happen, people oversleep, people are late, people are sick, yes I understand that. But the show must go on and I'm afraid this show is a dud. I waited, along with 7 other people, the extra 30 min it took to open this window. That just means open it, it doesn't mean being helped. It's one thing to wait in lines which is totally fine because at least people are being helped but cmon. This is just bad business. Ok, I've been to this branch many times and I can tell you this issue here is low staffing. The counter staff have always been pretty helpful with the tasks they can do, but the back office situation is bad. They have a policy where if you need anything from the back office, to pick up a package or held mail, or any help with your post office box, you have to ring a bell and wait at a little Dutch window. The woman who works in the back has too much to do and so basically just ignores the bell 90% of the time. I've waited over an hour at this window on multiple occasions. I've also seen others waiting, upset, and ringing repeatedly. The clerks can't/wont help so you are just stuck if you need something from the back. The last time I was there in the line at this window, the other patrons and I were so fed up after over an hour that we held the bell down until she came out. Needless to say, she was NOT happy with us and said it hurt her ears and she was doing her best. Bottom line, they need more staff in the back and I'm sure that will help with the general attitude of the staff they do have. read more

Omg!!!!!! Again I CANNOT open the postal service key locked parcel box to get my package that I need for tomorrow. I tried eight times the key does not freaking work. I can't hardly read the number on the key. I walked around and used all of the mailboxes. None of them are opening. I need my package tomorrow. read more

Multiple times I have signed for my packages to be delivered when no one is home. More often than not, they don't deliver.

5 packages misdelivered in 2 months and mysteriously "never found". Filed a claim and never heard back from the post office. I guess I am just SOL. Poor customer service, no follow through, NOTHING!!! AND our delivery person was stealing gift cards out of bday cards to my kids - cards showed up in informed delivery then were never delivered. This has happened multiple times. Noone answers when you call. Send your items ANY OTHER WAY - Not USPS!!! read more

Absolutely terrible!! I came on a Wednesday at 12 and they had a sticky note on the door saying they left and to come back tomorrow at 8:30. And when I ask the front desk people the guy asked if could read. I couldn't see a little sticky note and was just asking where I need to go to pick up my package. Very unprofessional and when I came back the next day at 8:30 I sat there and wasn't help for 25 mins and Ik what you're think long ass line right. Hell no I was the only one there. read more

WORST POST OFFICE EVER! I've been PAYING to have mail forwarded from a P.O. Box for 3+ years and items never get sent. They lose packages frequently. They NEVER answer the phone. After hours drop off box is often jammed. Self-serve machine for shipping is broken more visits than not. Even though I live in Austin, not Lakeway, I'm forced to share their post office. Ugh. For the second time in a month, we have had a package that was properly addressed sent back due to "no such number" or sent on an around the U.S. tour before coming back to us and actually getting delivered. I don't doubt that the issue is at the Austin Regional Distribution Center, but our local post office should be tracking the issues. I went in early this week because a time sensitive package was being sent back because of "no such number". Well it had the proper nine digit zip code and the proper address - same residential address we have lived at for years and it has only been an issue in the last few months. I could not get customer service on the phone (no surprise), so I went into the post office. I spoke with a supervisor, gentleman named Rick?, he confirmed there was no issue with my address and asked me to e-mail him the tracking number which I did promptly upon returning home. He was going to try and intercept before it was returned. I never heard back from him. I even followed up once to his e-mail and still nothing. So I guess the answer is he didn't try to intercept at all. So now my package is on its way back to the sender - for no reason. In a discussion with the sender, I was told this has been a continual issue since January, but the post office will never return their calls to straighten it out. I know the post office needs more funding to operate well, but competency is definitely lacking. Customer Service is non-existent. The upshot was vendor is now using UPS only - another unhappy customer of the USPS. read more

Based on one counter service 8/9/2023 at 3:30 and one drive through. Parking - plenty; large lot Drive through drop off - yes; mailbox Counter service - was very friendly, professional, and helped me save time and money. My envelopes were too small and they were able to charge me an extra manual process fee (a special stamp) to add to 30 envelopes so I didn't have to re-write them all and I didn't need to buy more (bigger) envelopes. She also let me used her tape. I had help from 2/3 staff there and they were patient and kind. No line either! read more

Inhospitable and demeaning behavior. No one was there to greet me and after they did they made me feel stupid. With an abundance of tape, they gave me a hard time even after I offered to pay. What was meant to be a quick return turned into the worst morning. Before leaving he felt the need to fuel his lack of masculinity by verifying my height. Bye far the worst USPS office I've ever had to deal with. I moved to the Austin area October 2024 when I tried to change/update my new address the Postal Service website did not recognize my address. I called the Postal Service and was informed I needed to go to my local post office and submit a change of form. Well after doing this two times and waiting several months. I finallyreceived back letter dated over 30 days after I received it. Because of this, I was unable to go back to Lakeway USPS Office because the barcode expired after 20 days the letter dated. when I and stated the problem I any apology. I was just have to start all over again! All the negative reviews do not lie. Back in October 2024 I was told by another patron the Lakeway Post office in the parking lot that there was a petition, signed to have the manage/postmaster of the LW office replaced. Dropped off a package May 30th and paid almost $50 for two day shipping and to be delivered on a Sunday. They lost it and now it's showing it will be delivered June 24th, three weeks late. When you try and call them for a refund, don't because they never pick up the phone. The only person the worker was nice to was an objectively beautiful woman. They are the worst, most unfriendly, most unhelpful group of people I've ever had the misfortune to encounter. The guy behind the counter wanted me to buy tape to affix a label, and has no idea what the stamp machine is capable of. As a policy, I am not anti-fed, but this is an example of a govt agency gone wrong. After dozens of interactions, I finally have to say these are continually the unhappiest people I've had the displeasure of dealing with. When asking a question, I get some bare minimum mumbled answer. If I ask again for clarity, I get the same mumbled answer. I went to pick up a package today and the guy, after 15 mins, came back to simply mumble, tomorrow. I told him the previous person said it would be there. His answer, tomorrow. Today, all their machines were down, again, so everybody had to wait in one line of 25 people to use the self service machine. Somebody asked why this happens and they simply shrugged. I won't even get into the change of address fiasco that took 3 months to remedy or paying extra for faster shipping just to have it arrive later than regular mail. Come on. We can do better. Update. It's tomorrow. Went to pick up my package. Sign on the door saying they were understaffed and could not retrieve mail. People at the counter refused to go get it even though there was no line. There were voices in the back. These are important documents I need today. This is outrageous. read more

I had a lost package and I called USPS lakeway to ask where my package was, a lady called Tina answered and she was amazingly sweet, she was busy but she asked me for the tracking number and my phone to call me back, honestly I didn't think she would do it but she did!!! She told me she was going to look up for the lerson who delivered and to ask him or her to leave the key in my mailbox and that to please let her know if I got it, nobody left the key or my package so I called her back and she told me she was going to look for it herself and deliver it to me and she did! Wow! Great customer service and she went beyond! She is amazing! We need more employees like her! read more

NEGATIVE REVIEW. We live in Steiner Ranch. Our entire neighborhood in Bella Mar has CONSTANT MISSING packages that say they have been delivered. Monday night FOUR mail trucks arrived AFTER 6PM stating that they were bringing mail into our neighborhood because something has happened to our somewhat regular delivery man who never arrives until 4:30 pm to begin delivering mail into our boxes. According to the USPS records I had a box of lightbulbs delivered on 11/14. I have NOT received this box. I had to leave a message in my mailbox inquiring where my missing box is. No response STILL one week later. Also, I filed a Stolen box report and no response yet. Furthermore my neighbors are bringing piecemeal letters that were in their mailbox rather than mine. This is LARCENY - a Federal Felony. Lakeway Post Office delivery people have been a nightmare for the past 3 years especially. read more

Tasha was very helpful and courteous when I needed help with my package. They have had management problems at the station but she seems to keep things in order. The Lakeway post office is a perfect example of what happens when the federal government manages something. If this were a private business it would have gone bankrupt years ago. It's time to privatize the post office so that it can be run as a business. If this were to happen, customer service, competitive rates and shipping speeds would be a priority. In its current state, the workers could literally spit in your face and there is nothing you can do about it (except maybe file a complaint via email that will go unanswered). Yeah, I'm finally giving this Post Office my lowest rating. Slow, rude clerks, and they all appear to dislike each other, the customers, and just plain being there. If you told me that they'd been shanghai'ed from a local Wal-Mart and chained to the floors here I would believe you without question. Even better, they'll refuse to help you when there's NOBODY at the package pick-up window. I ended up waiting 15 minutes just for someone to SHOW UP at the damn door after ringing the bell a few times. *** DISCRIMINATION *** This place is a disgrace. I have two toddlers. One 2 year old and one 3 year old. Any mom knows how hard it is to take your kids out in my public. The African American male clerk at 1PM told me to " control my kids " while I was filling out the address card. I told him i will do my best but isn't as easy as it looks. He kept mumbling talking crap and I told him I would pick it up before I left. He wasn't okay with that. Then when I got to the front of the line, I said you don't have kids do you? He started to talk more crap saying things such as "you're on your phone and can't control your kids" -I was literally copying an address down that I had and trying my best to get and out of there!! I then I asked for his name, he wouldn't tell me and then he told me it would be printed on the receipt. I told him I'll be leaving a review. It was in that moment he told proceeded to tell me he wasn't going to serve me. They refused a mom with two toddlers service. That's discrimination and you'll be hearing from me. read more

I HATE THIS POST OFFICE. I have scheduled package pickup services at my house over 10 times and they never come. My package usually sits on my front porch for days until I submit multiple complaints and someone actually comes. I submit a complaint every time and they call to say it won't happen again - but it always does. I scheduled a package pickup for 2 packages yesterday - no one came. Scheduled a new one for today, someone comes and grabs one of the packages and leaves the other one there (SMH). I tried calling the post office over and over but it just rings and no one answers and there is no way to leave a voicemail. I'm not even sure why they offer this service if they are incapable of providing it. read more

Even after numerous calls (they don't answer their phones), emails and visits, the office refuses to deliver our mail claiming that our house is vacant or there are trucks in front of our mailbox. Neither is true. I used my neighbor's surveillance video to watch and the truck literally didn't even try to get to our mailbox, which hasn't moved in three years and had no vehicles anywhere near, it except at the house across the street. We have to drive 30 minutes out of our way - a one hour trip in best case scenario traffic to get our daily mail. My neighbors get their mail. I'm beyond pissed, but apparently we have no recourse and the people who work here have absolutely no desire to help their customers. Wish I could give negative stars. read more

I cannot believe I still have not received any of my packages since they're all from China they claim it's because of the Corona virus. So now I am out of packages to claim they have been delivered and none have been delivered in my mailbox. How could this be you ask well it's possible I am feeling sad because it's like a nightmare nobody seems to give a darn here. The managers here are nonchalant they don't seem to care if you have received anything or not they always revert it to the main number which is the 1 800 USPS line how ridiculous.
