Another zero star visit to this po. This time we found few customers and some workers not helping customers. Nevertheless the rude and unhelpful person at the desk identified as for passports sent us away with a litany of bad news. We needed an appointment that takes 4 weeks to arrange. Or we could come on the least convenient days at 7 am and wait for 4 hours for someone to "help" us. The person saw no need to offer to make an appointment. Nor is their system set up for another person to assist this person (the one with no other applicant to help). For years now I have wondered why we need so many postal workers? Being closed and unavailable will be about as useful as our ecperience today. They see no reason to ever be efficient or as helpful as commercial post offices. I think we can easily cut deliveries to homes down and get rid of the staff who have the attitudes. I've met helpful postal workers. But they were mostly rural. This is a very busy location and Post Office. So be warned, if you are going to try and make a quick stop On a Saturday morning or in the way home from work, you might want to be prepared for a wait. It is a pretty large post office. Plenty of parking out front. They have a very nice drive up mail box outside that's easy to just drop prepaid mail into and leave without ever getting out of the car. The Post Office is very easy to find and get in and out of. The one complaint I have is when I moved to the East Coast, they screwed up my mail for well over 2 years. I would get my parents mail who still lived in Vegas, they would get my mail. My mother in law would get my parents mail at her address for some reason. It was a complete mess. After several phone calls to both the Vegas post office and the post office near my new home, we were able to discover that Vegas had made the error when keying in the change of address. It took all of us filling out new Change of Address forms to straighten it out. Now things could have changed a lot since then, and I sincerely hope they have. read more

Parking was quite plentiful - real surprised! I got front row parking at this location. First time ever at a post office. But I'm sure come November-December this lot is packed. Passport renewal time. Although the passport appointment phone line was a hassle, the service time for my actual appointment wasn't all that bad. Literally the appointment phone line wasn't being answered for 3 days. I set my alarm hourly to call them throughout the day. Finally was able to set an appointment, but at this location across the airport. There's an online fillable form for the passport application, by the way. Makes the form cleaner and easier to read. At my allotted appointment time, it went by pretty quick. I was prepared with all required documents. Photo is taken here. Not all locations for passports may take your photo. Ken - the passport guy (he says)... Hilarious dude! Glad he got to help me with the paperwork processing. Not very many postal workers are energetic, yet far from humorous at the counter. The staff at this post office was very helpful when I was renewing my passport. The clerk at the window carefully reviewed my application and helped with items such as stapling my passport photo to the application. She was friendly and patient throughout the process. The facility was clean, well lit and well staffed. This is one government agency I am proud to support. read more

I've utilized this post office hundreds of times. Very rarely am I in there for more than 5 minutes. The staff, for the most part, has always been friendly and helpful. They're well stocked with assorting packaging materials. I'm sure I"ll continue to use them on a regular basis. read more

Kenneth at the passport desk is probably the BEST postal worker that I have ever dealt with and that is saying a lot when it comes to government offices. Make an appointment, have Ken take your picture and bring in your old passport with you required documents along with a debit card for payment. Kenneth was friendly, fast and efficient. I've been here many times since it's close to work and I always have something to mail. Pros: -huge parking lot with plenty of available spaces -drive through box for mailing letters -self serve machine for mailing boxes (when operational) -flat rate boxes are typically well stocked Cons: -Mondays are always a 20-30 minute wait for help at the counter -only one to two employees at the counter at any given time -the employees don't do enough to control customer flow (i.e. why do so many people show up with loose items and expect us all to wait while they box and tape up for 10 minutes at an available counter? send them back to the end of the line so that they can learn to use their 20-30 minute wait more effectively next time! I can't really say whether service is great or awful because it's a mixed bag. Some of the employees are typical postal drones with no personality or customer service skills. On the other hand there are a couple of employees that are very friendly and very helpful. In particular, there is an Asian woman that is often there around noon each day that is very pleasant. She looks for ways to move the line along and is friendly. She even does things that are efficient which brings me joy. read more

This is my favorite post office in Las Vegas in the past 24 years! Conveniently located on Sunset Rd, right next to the airport. So if there are hundred people in line ... just go outside ... take a big breath and watch the airplanes landings or taking off ... Well, something changed here in the past few years. Suddenly no need to wait so much anymore! Not because less people are here, but somehow business is taking care of faster. There is a separate area and line for passport services. You can have your picture taken here too, for a slightly higher price than at Walgreens. So you don't have to go two different places before submitting applications. Credit cards are welcome to use for almost everything here, except for buying money orders, of course. This location is open 8A.M-9 P.M. Monday-Friday, and 8A.M.- 4P.M. on Saturdays! I spoke to two different employees and in the middle of my question they cut me off and asked if I have an appointment. WORST POST OFFICE, EVER!!! The lines are always so long and some of the postal workers, rude. The window for the post office box package pickup is rarely open anymore. Packages are getting lost more and more. It takes 3x as long to get your mail now than ever before. I have been waiting and waiting for important things sent to me, weeks later, still nothing. It's pathetic. Such a broken system. Lately envelopes containing checks from family have been opened before being put into our PO Box as if someone might be looking to steal. Hey, it's the post office. Entering the property is easy, leaving is like playing Russian Roulette. You never know what's waiting around that corner. They have plenty of P.O. boxes here and some new self service kiosks. However, the main area tends to get busy and it's not uncommon to wait 20 min in line. The staff are all pretty nice. Come here after the DMV and it will seem like a breeze. read more

Went here to renew my passport. Post office is pretty big compared to others. My appointment was scheduled between 830am - 845am and got called in within the time. This wonderful black lady named Viola was super sweet and gave me specific instructions on my passport. Everything was explained and also I was able to take my passport photo. read more

Stopped by today to get my passport renewal. I would suggest getting he first appointment of the day. Not the nearest appointment. Seems they get behind as the day goes. My appointment was 9:00 and the were already getting backed up. Website doesn't give ALL the info either. Appointment however only took fifteen minutes, and my USPS representative was able to take my picture while I was there. Otherwise, I've used this location in the past and I'm traditionally pleased with mailing and passport service as I've used both in the past. read more

They process passport applications, they have an automated postal center machine with drop box, they are open late, the line moves fast, they process and deliver your stuff quickly, and you can watch airplanes take off and land from the parking lot. read more

Too bad I can't put minus a star. Most of the employees are very good, Except, the African American gentleman who sits at the front, yelling, being rude and is horrible. I go here once a week to mail all my boxes and mail. Today, unfortunately when it was the African American gentleman's turn in line, he asked me to go in front if him, because as I said, he's rude to everyone and makes everyone feel bad. So I went, unwilling, but hoped for the best. I asked him a question very politely and he grunted some BS to me. AGAIN I Had to suck it up, my question not answered, and I'm wondering What I should have done. Forget asking the manager, if it's still the same one, she gave me BS too about something different, months ago. How many years, not days or months is this guy going to be allowed to do this to us? Do we get videos, a lawyer, statements ? Can someone ask him to please be nice to us? Everyone has things going on, but at least he has a good job! Great thing is they're opened till 9pm. Super useful for me to send stuff out after normal work hours. The staff is overall very friendly and warning - the lines can get long! However I'm docking stars not because of that (I mean come on the post office lines are consistent across most post offices...). I'm docking because I've mailed stuff out quite a few times from this place and twice my package gets damaged. I'm not sure if it's the receiving end or outgoing end that this is happening with but I haven't been able to get any of these situations resolved due to management being difficult. read more

If the Maintenance/Facilities management are unable to to have the grounds maintained in house it needs to contracted out. The place looks absolutely third world. The DMV is like Disneyland compared to this horrible place. The employees are lazy, entitled, unbelievably rude, and quite frankly, deserve to be working at a McDonald's instead. They act like you are personally offending them in some way because you came in and made them do their jobs. Aw, their line of work is stressful and it involves dealing with stupid customers all day? It's the main post office for Las Vegas. What does that mean? Ship things here - they will arrive at your destination faster. Why? Because all of the other post offices around town bring their mail here. So you're just taking it to the source. When I used to ship a lot of items for my last job, every person I spoke with here was helpful and friendly. If you go to the pick-up window, you can get a rolly cart if you have a lot of stuff or very bulky stuff to ship. Open late, which is great, but really shouldn't they all be opened late (this is Vegas). Distribution hub so the stuff does get put on the plane the quickest compared to dropping it off at another PO in the valley, but aren't Dist hubs like that? Never used Passport services here, but in regards to the clerks at the counters, this is not the DREAM TEAM of the valley's best, that's for sure. Perhaps the worst are sent here because that is what I have experienced. Clerks act like you are personally taking money ... nay ... spitting on their faces while you expose yourself if you happen to be .2 ounces over the home-printed label. Dude wanted to get into with me once because the label was 4 ounces and he claimed that I "OWED" money. What? It is more than that. More than that. Alright man. Just charge me whatever-the-fuck it is. "18 cents." Alright. Claims it was 4.5 ounces. What the fuck man. Ebay/Paypal labeling does not allow for .5 measurements, asshole. It is either 4 ounces or 5 ounces; no SUCH THING AS 4.5 ounces to be paid for at home through Ebay/Paypal. And he was rounding up anyway; it was like 4.3 ounces at most. Am I supposed to round all the way up to 5 ounces when it is 4.3. Get the fuck out of here. I rated it two stars because I am feeling generous; one of the female clerks gave me a bunch of customs pouches once after busting my balls over underweighing some Jordans I was mailing to Italy. Afterwards I learned you can just make an account if you ship a lot and they deliver the pouches (and bubble mailers, WHAT!) right to your box for free. - E Postscript. This has been the only location in the valley that has lost/disappeared one of my parcels too. Went to this location to hunt down a missing package sent from California. Got there and was helped by an older lady. Painfully slow for her to log into a computer and put in tracking number just to tell me I have to go next office next door. Met another older lady who was grumpy did not greet me just said "can I help you?!" Gave her my tracking & case number just to find out they can't find it and she recommended to file a missing/ theft case. So bottom line still am missing that package. 15days delayed and its sitting somewhere in their warehouse or an employee misplaced or stole my package. Very upset! USPS EMPLOYEES have long forgotten what it means to have good customer service. They make you feel that you are bothering them by making them DO THEIR job. This is the main post office location which is a huge building that also does passport applications. I normally go to the Westridge Location, but this was closer to work. I couldn't believe how fast the line went. There were 4 people working the counters not just one and it made the customer service that much better. I definitely recommend this post office if you don't want to be stuck at the post office for 30 minutes or more especially in the late afternoon. Am I really a fan of the Post Office? Not really. But I feel like this location deserves four stars simply because it's the main location for Las Vegas. From what I've experienced, this is the go-to place if you want your stuff delivered quickly. I'm guessing it's because mail from the other locations have to go through this facility anyway. So you're getting a head start by going to the source. Plus, this spot works for me because it's right down the road from work. This place should also get you in and out quicker than other USPS offices. There are simply more employees and more counters here. On the other hand, there is an easy to use self-service kiosk in the center area. I'm sure most other post offices have them too, but it's worth mentioning. I usually use that unless I have something unusual to ship (like today). read more
