Am I really a fan of the Post Office? Not really. But I feel like this location deserves four stars simply because it's the main location for Las Vegas. From what I've experienced, this is the go-to place if you want your stuff delivered quickly. I'm guessing it's because mail from the other locations have to go through this facility anyway. So you're getting a head start by going to the source. Plus, this spot works for me because it's right down the road from work. This place should also get you in and out quicker than other USPS offices. There are simply more employees and more counters here. On the other hand, there is an easy to use self-service kiosk in the center area. I'm sure most other post offices have them too, but it's worth mentioning. I usually use that unless I have something unusual to ship (like today). read more

Post Offices are places where I usually grumble about having to go to, but this location is the one that I grumble the least about visiting. It's all about the location. If you're coming in from the South it's easy to get off the highway right before the tunnel and be at the Post Office. When you get out of your car you get a free view of the McCarran air traffic. Hey, there's the Virgin Airways 747 again! And dang it's loud and it's big cause it's just right across the street from you!. You have easy access to the outside boxes to drop and go, and they pick up the mail later than other PO's do. And if it's tax time, this is THE PO to go to if you want your taxes postmarked in time and want to do it as close to midnight as possible...and maybe pick up a brief TV appearance in the process. If you go inside and the counter is open service is usually fast. And yes you can get passports here. I've had a PO Box here and was very pleased with the service and support received. Overall I consider this location to be the best PO in Vegas, hands down. 4 Stars based on almost 2 years of frequent visits. read more

I really wanted to send out postcards from Las Vegas, but had no idea where to go! It was Saturday and mostly everything was closed. :[ I definitely did not want to send them from California...I mean, how pointless would THAT be? In any case, I did what any sane person would do - bust out my phone and pull up my yelp app. I read someone was sending packages at 7pm, so I got there as quick as I could! It turns out, the office actually closes at 4pm on Saturdays, BUT the lobby is open and has a self-serve kiosk! :D Yay! Not only that, but the lobby was actually CLEAN and MAINTAINED. There were plenty of forms and flat rate boxes out - anything you need for your shipping needs! PLUS, because it is the main postal branch, there are mail pick ups as late as 9:30pm. Overall, great USPS. I wish they had more like it in California! Now, hopefully I used the kiosk properly and my postcard is well on its way to Japan. ;] read more

Showed up at 4:52 pm to get some stamps I've been needing for the past week, the post office I normally go to totally dropped the ball, (Tropicana and Mountain Vista location) So the line was surprisingly not out the door and they had what seemed everyone helping out to get customers taken care if so the wait wasn't that long considering 2 days before Christmas. I got to the window and asked for my unique order of 900 - 21 cent stamps and within 5 minutes I was doing my transaction and out the door! read more

Passport services are quick, efficient, and as nice as you can get for a government entity. The lines for sending off packages move quickly and is more well organized than the one on Pebble and Bermuda. I am as big of a fan of staying in a post office as they are of serving the throngs of people that come in everyday. I do appreciate the fact that they can often grin and bear it better than I can though. Parking is never a problem with the large private lot. The most I can ever ask for is to be in and out as quickly as possible. With the associates here, it is rarely an issue. read more

Came a week ago to go renew my passport making sure to call in advanced to make sure they were open for passports and they happily said on the phone that yes they were open from 10-5. When we get there there was no line and we were just behind one lady, but when it got to us the man who worked for the passports asked us if we had a number and we had no clue what he was talking about and he told us we couldn't go up there unless we had a number. So of course we left extremely aggravated. Today we returned to go renew my passport yet again, and we did call in advance just to double check if they were actually open and they told us yes and they were open form 10-5 andddd this time we were able to get called up, but here's the fun part! Right when we get called up the obscenely rude passport man told us that we had to make an appointment to renew it, which is not what they told us last week when we came and definitely NOT what they told us on the phone. read more

This is the best post office in town to deal with. I had to mail some packages on Christmas Eve and there was a line which moved quickly and efficiently! The postal clerk was happy and friendly and I have NEVER dealt with a civil postal clerk in this city! I had a couple of questions and she was very nice and informative. Such a relief after dealing with the Pebble and Topaz locations! They should shut both of those locations down since they LOSE your mail or return to sender for months at a time! First, they should make them cage fight gladiator style to the death to keep their jobs. Those people define the term "going postal" to a t. Any time I need postal services, I will drive out of my way to go to this location. read more

Great convience that they have a drive thru to mail your letters. But, if you do need stamps or to mail boxes you have to go inside. They seem to get you through the line pretty fast. I have ran into some nice workers and some stuck up ones working here. But, this place is very convient and they wont be going any where so we have to deal! read more

HORRIBLE service. I came here to get my passport and Kenny (I think that was his name) was helping me. He did not want to accept my brothers passport application and said we had to reschedule because we were 4 minutes late. I had to beg him to take us because it was only 4 minutes so he just had some other lady help us because I guess he didn't want to deal with it although I was being nice and cooperative. He did not even give me a copy of my old passport or tell me any important information I needed to know about any updates on my passport. If I can give a zero I would! The passport wait is over an hour long when they ask you to arrive one hour early. Then when they finally call you in and you realize my app is tomorrow ( yes, my bad) but I explained we thought it was Monday since she leaves for candle lighters camp can we please please please make an exception if she doesn't get this today she will either not get her make a wish or will have to miss camp. BIG FAT "NOPE" I am sure if you asked everyone we were ahead of they would totally understand our child has cancer and it's a wish. Smh screw the customer service here!!! read more

Clerks are great, but supervisors and box services are flat out RUDE.

This for the U.S. Postal Service Premier BMEU I was in there turning in some EDDM for mailing and was there for over an hour. The employees had no knowledge on the process in handling EDDM. They we rude. and were saying I was over by 300 mail pieces when I was mailing 4900 and I only printed 5000. they made me count the pieces. And at the end I was only over like 100! They need to take a course in customer service! and also need to learn more about the service's they provide like EDDM! It is sad that I have more knowledge about EDDM then the employees providing the service! read more

I went to the post office on Valle verde and horizon in Henderson first. Got the application for my passport then made an appt online for this location. I honestly was afraid it was going to be trashy and scary! But to my surprise this post office is huge and beautiful! The man who helped us with our passports was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant to do business with! I really wish I remembered his name... I may edit my review when I look at the receipt! I can't explain how easy the process was for our passports. Even my one year old daughter is smiling in her passport! The guy was that good! read more

After my horrible treatment by a postal employee at the Pebble office ,i came to the Sunset office. What a huge contrast in great customer service. One gentleman postal empoyee was going around the line checking in on everyone online for a smoother service. The lady at the counter was very nice ,patient and helpful. This is now the only post office I will go to for now on. I will have to drive far but it will be worth it. This is the post office I visit often because it is extremely close to my work. Every time I have gone in for passport application process, shipping, stamps, etc... the service has been great. Really, government employees nice?!!!? YEP!! My boyfriend recently got stationed in Korea and I was shipping him a box of stuff. There was one employee answering questions and directing people to the right paperwork. Very helpful for me since this was my first time shipping to a APO. She even went over it before I got in line to assure everything was correct. She was not rude nor did she make me feel stupid for not knowing. Love that they have someone that is friendly and patient. This I am sure helps the employees at the counter because we come with everything ready. Another time, I was shipping some concert tickets and an employee at the counter put my envelope in another one and said it was cheaper to do it differently. I was very thankful that she knew it was more cost effective another way and didn't just blow it off. I thought that was great customer service!!! This was the worse experience, I used the self service kiosk "to help me save time" when the machine charged my credit card the screen froze, not printing out the postage I paid for.... When I asked for help from the employees working there, nobody could help me! They called over Nelson the lead and he told me I should file a dispute with my credit card company!!! They didn't print me a postage, since I had already paid for it, and had to pay again!!!!!!! Nelson gave me an 800 that has nothing to do with my issue. This is literally theft!!! Came in for a 10am passport appt and was called on time. Susan was the agent who helped us. I had to renew mine and she assisted to make sure I had everything and she assisted in getting it mailed out. My two kids needed their passports also and assisted us with making sure we had everything. The process took us 30 mins for all three of us. Susan was very friendly and helpful. This post office is a joke. Came in with my daughter for a passport. Waited a few minutes and finally the clerk comes by and starts calling out a number. I looked around and did not see a ticket dispenser. I lined up in the regular line and asked for a ticket number and the clerk pointed out to the passport line and told me to see the passport clerk. Lined up at the passport line and asked for a ticket and was handed a card board with a number written on it. Clerk helped out the next 4 people and then walks away with out a word. It's been over 30 minutes and still no clerk. I asked the other clerk and was told person will be back. I mean come on talk about job security. Saw the clerk briefly and not a word to us waiting in line. Finally asked for the mgr. Mgr said clerk will be back in 30 seconds. That was a minute ago. URGH!!!!!! read more

I am giving this USPS a one star because all it takes is one bad apple to spoil the whole bunch. That being said, there are a handful of postal employees at this location who are wonderful, like the afternoon / evening shift supervisor Theresa. She is outstanding! Sue is also wonderful... Po is wonderful... and then there is the flip side of wonderful... Like the guy with the extreme comb-over hair... I believe his name is Fletching. Very rude, and unprofessional. He enjoys arguing with customers... and to be honest, I do not know why the Post Office allows this behavior. Perhaps it is the Union that protects him, but this guy is without a doubt the worst postal employee that I have ever experienced... Well, maybe he is equal with Helena. Came here at 8am on a weekday without an appointment for an expedited passport as was taken within 15 minutes of waiting. The guy in the passport waiting room was extremely friendly and accommodating. I forgot to bring copies of my ID and the woman filling out paperwork was happy to make copies for me. I cannot believe how different my experience was at this location vs previous experiences at other locations. I walked in expecting a long line and grumpy employees. This one had maybe two people In line and I was instantly greeted with a warm smile and asked if I needed any assistance. I easily found the passport center and thanks to calling ahead of time, I had everything prepared for my visit. I spoke with Dan on the phone and he was so patient and informative. Once again impressed! Then the passport guy was so funny and helpful and he took my passport photo and it was $15 which is a little high because I should've done it at Costco for $4.99 but whatever I needed it done. I purchased my money order there too which I never knew was even possible and a $1.64 charge for that which is nothing. Put all my stuff inside a priority mail flat rate envelope for $6.45 which includes a tracking number and insurance. Easy done and all took maybe ten minutes. So will return to this location for any postal needs. read more

if i can give them zero stars i will. do not go to this post office for your passport appointment. my son's appointment was at 615pm, didn't get called in until 830pm. there was only one employee to cater for both passport & mail from 6pm onwards and the priority was the mail and not the passport appointments. there was another employee but he did not run the register, he was merely helping out customers how to run the kiosk. almost 2 hours in 3 ladies walked in to dop off their passport applications and the guy employee helped them out like they were VIPS. he spent more than 20 minutes with them while a couple of us with 'appointments' ranging from 530-630pm were still waiting for our turn to be processed. it was a very frustrating experience couple with the fact that i had a 5 year old with me who grew impatiently as the time goes by. yes i understand it's a government facility, we're pretty much at their mercy but still there should be a better way to serve the people especially if you have an appointment. i hope this review reach the manager of this post office (but i am pretty sure this will fall on deaf ears). read more

Maybe it was a bad day for the postal service, I don't know. This was probably the 10th time I've ever been inside a post office in my life. Random fact about me.. Anyway, the sign said they open at 8:00AM, I opened the door at 8;03 .. I'm not that OCD I just happened to get a text at the same time I walked in :) Well I waited in line for 15 minutes, not a normal line, it was a "We hear the employees enjoying their coffee and breakfast behind the big scary shutter doors" line. It was ridiculous. Myself and 5 other people stood there like sheep waiting patiently for bob and sofia to finish their breakfast and conversation to open the gate of a post office that should have been open for 15 minutes prior. I've used this post office twice and twice they've lost my package. Only used them because of their hours but never again. Also asked an employee there how to purchase mail service online and instead of answering he got upset and told me people like me are the reason we have less post offices, wtf? I believe this post office STOLE a package sent to me from a seller who had them pick it up at their place of business. FOUR DAYS after the last scan is done here for "departed post office las vegas, NV with their zip code, there is ZERO tracking at that point which makes me think someone scanned it and took it home or even threw it away just to be mean and spiteful. IF it had reached California from Nevada, there would have been a transit scan at the sort hub near me. I believe this post office to be corrupt and unfarily delaying of packages that are entrusted to their care. read more

If the most incompetent employees appeared on Google Maps the USPS would have the highest density of any business. I also sell a lot on ebay, USPS CONSISTANTLY looses 3% of my packages. Even worse the USPS website tracks it as "Label Created" so the customer's thinks I never sent it. Since the employees are soo inept they can't be trusted to collect from a mailbox. Somehow they manage to f-up on a regular basis. To stop this I've started dropping everything off at the physical location and getting a receipt which I scan into the cloud, that might help if you're forced to use USPS for something, so at least they know USPS lost it, they still lose stuff but it helps to prove my innocence and point blame at the USPS. The "private" USPS unfortunately has a constitutionally granted MONOPOLY so Fedex and UPS are not allowed to compete in the economy small mail market. Outdated like the phone book, can't wait for them to go out of business. You can tell by the level of service and lack of consciousness that this is a nothing but a MAKE-WORK program. read more
