For years, and I mean years, people were breaking into our building with a POSTAL KEY! Yes, a bloody postal key. It seems we got a year reprieve and now it is starting all over again. Yesterday, it seems the postal person was in too much of a hurry to close the box, or perhaps there is another person with a postal key? Who the bloody hell knows anything these days. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because the service was good, but this is a one star location. This has to be one of the busiest post offices in the area, yet I've never seen more than two people working. Many times there is only one person working. I once went in at 8:30 AM, when they open and there were 9 people in front of me, and only one poor guy working. The line didn't shorten after me either. So it was about 20 minutes waiting. However, I've been here before with the same situation and it could be a 30 minute wait time. This isn't bad management but the gutting of USPS in real time and this is the effect. For a post office with this much volume, there should be at least 2 people working at all times. The employees were very nice and efficient, but I would stay away from this location because of the sheer volume. Perhaps it's the big parking lot that attracts people to this location. Updated review for a horribly unprofessional mail carrier and for staff at the USPS that don't follow protocol. My buildings mail carrier is grumpy and passive aggressive, you have to walk on eggshells around her. She doesn't notify you if she can't/won't/doesn't want to deliver mail for a week (yeah she does that and it's not the first time) You think you don't have any mail but then you check your USPS mail notifications and there has been plenty of it. The post office itself backs up this behavior otherwise it wouldn't keep happening from time to time. I tried to go in to the Mar Vista location to get my mail and they wouldn't release it to me. Yes, I had my photo ID and yes it was there. I was flabbergasted. I called the Office of the Inspector General who filed a complaint with consumer affairs, it was confirmed that they can't do this. The Postmaster did release the mail this morning and it was delivered, but this should have never happened. I'm stressing this jic some of you run into the same situation in 90066 (or elsewhere) Call the Office of the Inspector General, speak with the Postmaster at the office and file your complaints. I don't use this post office that often though the times I have the staff have been informative, professional, kind and efficient and gone above and beyond, especially Ugenda and the gentlemen in the back office. They set a great tone, especially during the holiday season. They listen and thoroughly address mailing inquiries. The spacious parking lot, location, lobby services and extended weekday and weekend hours are also very convenient. read more

I came here a little after 1:00 p.m. and there were 5 or 6 people in line with one customer at the counter. One employee was holding down the fort while everyone else was on their lunch break. Edward was professional, kind and patient. He did not once get flustered as the line grew and was very pleasant. Visited 6/30/25 and arrived by 5:50pm. There was still quite a line but filled out my forms in advance to help prevent delays. One of the attendants asked me to get close to her booth and as I begun to ask questions she shortly cut me off by saying she was still helping someone else. I am confused already wondering why ask another person to move up if "you are clearly in the middle of a transaction"? I understand the location is understaffed and by the time clock strikes they want to go home. I also don't expect to become buddies and it is clear good customer service is hard to come by at the post office but is it so hard to just do your job without short handing customer's? If you hate your job so much... it is simple....go back to school and do something where you thrive and can be a wholesome. The Post Office staff person Evginda was awesome. She delivered 5 star service. She greeted every customer, she was super helpful to each customer, taking time to explain mailing options and cost, and her line moved fast. The other things about my visit not to good,(2 star) this PO was not clean and the parking situation is suspect. The lot next to PO directs you to make payment to a text number, not a company and you don't get proof of payment yet signs are posted you will get towed if no proof of payment. I'm not sure what is going on with this branch, but lately we go days without receiving our mail and packages. I was expecting a few packages today and one I desperately needed for a trip I leave for tomorrow, and it was due to be delivered today. The tracking said all day it's out for delivery and is expected by 9pm tonight. Looked right now at 8:50pm and NOW it's available for pickup. Had they done this earlier, I could have gone and picked it up earlier. But now I have to leave for my trip without my items. read more

Sure in general every post office is slow and poorly managed but I have never been to a USPS who treated people so rudely. She will nickel and dime you for everything even tape! All other USPS visits I have had in other states don't give a rip about tape. And in case anyone was wondering I have never cared to review anyplace ever! I feel so bad that we aren't doing a better job to support such necessary infrastructure like the us postal service. This branch is the worst. I was expecting a delivery yesterday but it wasn't delivered due to "Animal Interference." However, there are no outdoor animals where i live and I received some other pieces of mail. Today the package is not out for delivery so I'm worried it may have been lost. I tried calling this branch numerous times yesterday about the delayed delivery and a few times today and it just keeps ringing and no one picks up. Finally, I saw the postal worker at my mailbox this morning. She put some mail in my box and then went to her truck. I walked over and asked her about the package that hadn't been delivered due to Animal Interference. She poiinted to it in her truck and said I could take it. So, I did. Today we came into this post office at 5:50pm and waited in line, at 6:11pm the cashier decided that she was done for the day and closed the cashier gate while there was still a long line of people waiting inside the store. Yesterday it was 5:58pm and the same staff member shut the main entrance when people were still trying to get in. She even said aloud that she will not work late for anyone. Firstly there are no notices put out indicating that you are closing earlier than 6pm. Secondly if we were already waiting in line inside the post office why were we made to wait for 20mins and not served, even asked to leave as there was no end of line notice at all. I can understand that this is a pandemic and you have a shortage of staff, and I do appreciate essential workers for their hard work, but this is unprecedented and very unprofessional. I came to the post office to mail an art piece I had drawn for someone. An African-American woman named Reneya was helping me send the package. She was the epitome of discourteous and rude. I have a cast on my right hand and no thumb to grab things with. She was very abrupt and abrasive when answering my basic mailing questions. As she was handing my package, I asked if she would please help me tape it up. She failed to tell me that she was not allowed to do this and told me to do it myself. I was very taken aback as she was condescending and provided orders with no explanation or and shred of kindness/compassion. As I only have one functional hand right now and didn't think it appropriate to ask strangers during a pandemic, I had to squeeze the tape dispenser to my body with my elbow and try to accomplish this. I accidentally cut myself and started to bleed. When I finished and was handing the package over the counter, I said that I have a broken thumb and that I'd appreciate compassion and help as she was already handling my package. She started mouthing off to me in front of the customers and being even more cruel. When I recommended that she help her customers and not have a bad attitude, she began to verbally insult me. I am in shock and appalled at this nasty behavior. This snarky and awful person should not be allowed in any customer service position. Now I'm stuck wondering if she will do something physically aggressive to mess with my package as she had no problem being passive aggressive or verbally nasty when I was asking for some understanding and kindness considering the circumstances. In my personal opinion, she had no basic human decency and projected her terrible attitude and poor customer service all over me and the rest of the customers there. Even as I was leaving, she was maliciously laughing at me with utter disrespect and no comprehension of manners. I plan to call the manager and file a complaint later. I have dealt with so many lovely employees at the post office that have left me with a great taste in my mouth and been genuinely wonderful people. This woman should not be working here unless you want your establishment to be seen as volatile, destructive, rude and completely unprofessional. Gross incompetence. We were out of town for a month and came back to find none of our mail had been delivered, and when we attempted to obtain it from the post office they "could not locate it." When we asked the carrier, he too "could not locate it." I filed a claim online, received a voicemail in response, and every time I called the number back to resolve the issue, the phone rings and rings forever and never is answered. We went to the post office again in person to ask for our mail. Again, they cannot find it. We asked to speak with a supervisor and were told none were available. They said we'd have to make an appointment to speak with a supervisor. So we asked to make an appointment and they said we'd have to call. We explained we try calling every day and no one answers, and the guy said, "yeah it just rings." So he admitted it's basically impossible to make an appointment. We hit a dead end at every turn. This bundle of mail contains incredible important documents (I've seen them come through my Email on Informed Delivery...which is pretty infuriating because they admitted they HAVE the mail, as they scanned it, but "misplaced" it). I attempted to report this office on the federal USPS site, however received an error message upon submission. The entire entity is a sham. read more

USPS in Mar Vista has some real issues, and this post office is, without a doubt, the worst. The majority of the employees have major attitude and zero professionalism. Sarcasm and eye rolls abound. I know it's been a trying year and woking in an understaffed location is hard, but being a decent human being shouldn't be. I've ran into times when there have been no employees whatsoever working at the front desk, even though it's supposed to be open. Services are minimal...months back, they weren't doing money orders and didn't have stamps. I know the budget cuts have been hard, but...a post office? With no stamps?? And the employees get salty with you when you politely ask when they might get stamps in? Okay. To top it all off, somewhere in the LA chain, whether it's at the sorting facility, this post office, or the carrier, someone has some major sticky fingers. Most greeting cards arrive at our place suspiciously torn open. Although I've tried to discourage it, I have a couple of relatives who insist on sending money and gift cards through the mail. Needless to say....they never show up. I've spoken to neighbors and lots of us in Mar Vista experience the same thing. Beware! And use another post office (or UPS/Fed Ex) if you can. read more
