Came in here yesterday 9/3 line of about 5 people in front of me. I was coming for my usual rental money orders of 1580.50. I gave the heavy set hispanic female (clerk 19) 1350$ cash and they charged me 237.70 on my debit card. The clerk then proceeded to tell me that it would be a minute as only one money order of 1000$ had been printed and that the other 584.10 wasn't printing. Weirdly she asked me if I had time and I said yes I have time I need my money back but lI was sure people waiting weren't okay with it" she said they could wait we have to get your money back and she started calling the help line on her phone, then when having no luck reaching them she proceeded to asked her coworkers for help, one of them insinuating that "I must not have had the funds in my account", when I had the confirmation on my bank account that it had been taken out. After about 45min waiting of her going back and fourth never talking to anyone on the help line and a line out the door of witnesses, the clerk proceeded to tell me that she would give me back the 1350 in cash and that I'd have to call my bank for a refund. I thought this was totally outrageous as the money was clearly taken from my account she had multiple receipts out visible, one of which I heard her state that shower proof that the money was taken from my account. I told her if she could please just fix the issue as it wasn't my fault and she said angrily that I would do everyone a favor if I just took the cash and went home and disputed it with my bank. Out comes the manager to tell me the same thing that they could void the 1000 money order give me back 1350cash and that I'd dispute the 237 with my bank. I couldn't believe it. It's all so suspicious just want everyone to be careful coming here they are not doing a good job at least not the staff on 9/3 around 12:30pm. They are probably stealing. I would've left one star if it weren't for Raven. After wasting about 30 minutes with another employee, Raven completely turned my experience around in less than five minutes. She was kind, patient, professional, and made the passport process quick and easy. She's the only reason I left happy. The first employee (an Asian woman with a bob haircut and glasses) was rude and condescending the entire time. She even asked if I could read because I missed a section on my application. When I asked for my documents back so someone else could help me, she insisted she had already given me my ID and had me searching through my bag, only to realize she still had it. I also left without one of my passport photos because she said she didn't have it. Raven deserves recognition for turning an awful experience into a good one. read more

After submitting the first QR-code shipment package, I handed over a second package. At that time, the employee, Laeve (spelling may be incorrect), asked me to hand over the remaining two QR-code shipment packages at once. I explained that although the boxes were identical in appearance, they were being shipped to different addresses, so I preferred to process them one at a time to avoid any confusion. Despite this being a simple process of scanning QR codes to print labels, she said she was too busy, told me not to come next time and to use the self-service kiosk instead, and stated that she could no longer help in this way. Her overall tone was irritated and unprofessional. She also incorrectly identified which receipt belonged to which package, causing confusion. I immediately asked her to verify the package information to ensure accuracy, but she refused, stating that the packages were already in processing. I was simply trying to prevent a shipping error for QR-code-based shipments, but I was disappointed with the handling of the situation and the level of customer service provided. read more

This post office "delivered my package" which was never delivered and never found it. When I complained they said to file a claim online. Of course it was rejected because they put in their system that it was delivered. Another instance my package was available for pickip at the post office, when I went to pick it up "they couldn't find it" . I asked to speak to the supervisor in charge of this location and waited and waited. One if the employees told me the supervisor "Itsy or Ipsy" is probably trying to stall in the hopes that I leave. When I said I will wait all day until i get to speak with her, Itsy (Ipsy?) told the employee to tell me that she will call postal police if I dont leave because she feels threatened. (Never spoke to Itsy nor know what she looks like so how can she feel threatened?). I decided to call postal police myself and the postal inspectors while I waited and when they heard me calling magically my package was found. What are the odds right? read more

PASSPORTS: save your time, go to Los feliz. Lazy weekend clerks. walked in to apply for my passport, was told I needed a copy of my lease agreement or official mail to show proof of residence. NOWHERE online does it say this is required. I left anyway and got those documents. came back fifteen minutes later and was told the person in front of me was the last for the day. it was 12:15pm and they stop passports at 1pm Saturday. Couldn't tell me why I couldn't be helped. today I went to Los feliz post office and got it taken care of in 10 minutes WITHOUT the extra paperwork. read more

We had an appointment for passport at 10. I arrived at 10. Kimberly the elder lady in charge of handling passports said I was late because I wasn't 10 minutes early. The family in front of us had 3 passports to apply for and she took an hour 10 minutes with them. She waited while they went and made copies that were required and wouldn't take any other customers while they waited. The line ended up being 7 people long from 10am appts all the way to 1pm appointment. She said she refused to do my application. I asked to speak to a manager and she refused to get someone until I firmly said I wasn't moving out of the line until I speak to a manager. Manager came out and told Kimberly to take my application and she refused and walked away. Skipping myself and 10:30 appointment lady behind me she said she would take 11:15 appointment because at that time it was already 11:30. She has no sense of time and understanding that we all waited patiently without complaining. Manager or supervisor walked away without saying a word. I asked another worker for help and she apologized for the madness that was caused due to Kimberly's attitude. Her English is not great either so it's very hard to understand what Kimberly was saying. Avoid this location unless you want to deal with someone you can't understand and is angry at the world. We are about 11 days from the 2024 election and I have not received my ballot yet. The registrars office has confirmed that my ballot had been sent out and that I should have received it a couple weeks ago. This is inexcusable, especially when our institutions have been facing an onslaught of scrutiny by people with ill intent. I have only written two other yelp reviews before. Both were for this branch of the USPS. The first one I had forgotten about when I wrote the second one. That said - and I know this makes me look like I have a personal vendetta, but alas, I'm writing another one to ask people to be vigilant when dealing with this office. read more

Cried the entire ride home after the passport worker denied my passport application even though I had all my required documents and payment. Said that they wouldn't process my application with my sex assigned at birth (I have not had a legal gender marker change nor an official name change with the social security office) and would be "more comfortable" with submitting an application for a passport with an X (I am masculine presenting). Do these workers not understand that trans people have received passports with corrected letters to reflect their sex at birth? Your job is processing passport applications dude. Get it together. I am literally doing what I'm supposed to and instead I get my passport pictures for free (great! Lol) and an address to a federal agency that will supposedly take care of me. Ma'am, you failed to explain why YOU couldn't. Wasted my time, my patience, and has potentially cost me money because I'm supposed to Europe the first weekend of May. With all that these folks go through, it is a wonder how they have tensioned kind. Truth is, there is another Post Office not far from me, but the staff there is a bit jaded. This place finds a small space, it is not a large office. There are only 5 parking spots. Inside you will find 4 teller windows, with two usually open, more of the line gets bad and they have the people. The products are the same, at this place, the people make the difference. Unfortunately, this is my post office. I filled out an online form for USPS to hold my mail during the holiday, and I specifically checked the box that said I would pick it up at the post office rather than have it delivered when I got back. Thought I would make it convenient for the delivery person since I know he gets busy during Christmas... ...HA! I got to the post office, which was grossly overheated, and after sweltering in line for about 20 minutes I was told that they didn't have my mail. I told them that I had arrived to pick it up within the deadline (you're supposed to do so within ten days of the last day of the hold, which I had done), and was told that it was probably delivered to me. 1. I very much doubt that since I tend to get a lot of mail at the end of the year. 2. What is the point of offering an option to pick up the mail at the post office if the Alvarado station is just going to ignore its customers' preference? 3. To the extent it is possible, use the post office on Vermont in Los Feliz instead. And if I could afford to move to that zip code and have that be my post office, I would, because I am now worried about what these incompetents are going to do next. read more

God bless civil servants. If this was a review for the hard-working postal workers assigned to this particular pit of hell, they'd get ten stars and a hug. But even though they do what they can with this undeniable hell pit, you're not going to the post office for the chitchat. You're going for convenience. You're going for speed. You're going assuming that you won't encounter human feces. Unfortunately, the Edendale Post Office cannot consistently provide you with any of those things. I just returned from a mid-December visit. Only two windows were open during this holiday rush and the automated machine was broken. The line led out the door, forcing customers to contemplate the failing federal mail system while watch a spilled milkshake curdle in the sun. It's all context though, right? It's a post office. But you know what's nice? The Atwater post office. Or the Glassell Park PO. The Los Feliz PO is nearly a museum. So I don't know how government businesses change, but I wish my neighborhood PO could get a little better. At least cleaner. If not for the community at least for the postal workers. This post office has gone way down hill over the last several years and with the exception of one older gentleman and one black lady,(sorry don't know their names)I've dealt with there now are not professional, friendly or give a crap about your concerns or needs! I was there yesterday 8/3/2023 just to buy a stamp, computer was down or so the young man said, and you would have thought I really stepped on his toes. The man was rude, to say the least, when I ask to buy a stamp he said I can't sell you a single stamp you will have to buy a book and you have to have the exact change. I have not been in a worse Post Office than this one. Mail drop bins inside that are either clogged or broken and don't open at all. Automatic postage machines that are never operational. Mail boxes outside that don't open larger than a letter slot. Intensely long waits. This Post Office flat out sucks and thanks to Trump's Post Master General, Fuckhead DeJoy, all the drop boxes in my neighborhood have been removed. What a fucking mess. read more

An unusually decrepit facility. Blankets and garbage strewn around the entrance, one of the two mail boxes out front is permanently locked, the ceiling inside is stained with water and on its last legs. Sad and depressing post office to visit, must be awful to work there. read more

I've had problems with this particular post office before with my packages not being delivered to me. meanwhile I'm seeing my neighbor's packages being delivered to them all throughout the week. I literally had to call and complained 3 or so times before I had my packages delivered. These were sent from Amazon thru the USPS via Priority mail, which was never set as a priority at all. So today I come home just to see everyone's mail in my building left at the from steps with a note saying "No key" , oh ok so I guess that note saying " No Key" secures everyone's mail from being stolen... not to mention the mail was left right below the call box with the managers name listed - Note to mail person, next time just press for the manager and he will buzz you into the building , read more

Been in the hood for ten years. And my regular mail carrier is the best. She puts my packages through the fence out of reach. Has given and taken my outgoing mail even when she is not in front of my house delivering. She is very aware and pleasant. In the actual post office they have been courteous, kind, helpful. I put a returned phone meant for UPS in the USPS box by accident and it was delivered and hand to the driver as he came into the post office because it was delivered. I've had other problems with mail or packages and they have been very accommodating. I don't get the people complaining. I think that is mostly delivery and sometimes they have different people from idk where deliver when regulars are out. The only reason I gave 4 an not 5 stars, is because the building itself could be cleaned up and updated. An and actual stamp machine should be put in :) read more

Stopped in to get my passport and Stanley was such a great help. I've been here a few times to drop off packages and what not. It's very clean , I've never had an issue with their customer service everyone has always been so helpful. Also it's the post office people !! If you don't get there early be prepared to wait or print at home . Just the parking is very small and little hard to get to but besides that i come here regularly. read more

I was a little skeptical about visiting this location due to all the horrible reviews. But I just went this morning and customer service was exceptional. I bought a money order and accidentally filled it out wrong. I was shy to ask a female that was greeting everyone as we came in. But I did. I asked her for white out to correct my mistake. She told me they could easily exchange my money order and put me back on line and the gentleman that sold me the money order was happy to help me. I think sometimes we skip businesses based on other people's experiences but sometimes you just have to find out for yourself. read more
