Omg! I live behind this post office and they have absolutely no consideration for the people who live in the area. The delivery trucks come alll hours of the night and noise is horrendous! Not to mention that this is in a garage so everything is 100 x louder. I'm sure the employees working there have hearing problems. It sounds like a war is going on over there. The fact that I'm doing a review on the USPS is pretty sad. I was expecting a package to be delivered to me last Thursday. I check the tracking to find out my package was delivered and signed for. Pretty weird as I don't live with anyone and I don't associate with my neighbors, so who on earth could have my package. After days of going back and forth with this location, the supervisor informed me that the driver that day allowed someone who was just in the vicinity of my apartment complex sign for my package because they were claiming it was me. Already annoyed by this response, but to make matters even worst she then says that often times drivers will do that. However I called the Postal Inspection Service because now I have a case for this package and they said that is not policy at all. A package can not be signed for by anyone that is not inside of the apartment. So nobody from the street or even outside the door can sign for a package. This location pretty much has done nothing for me in regards to why their driver allowed someone to accept my package. No form of sympathy at all, more so felt like they just thought I was lying about the entire situation. I've been ordering packages from this company since 2014, even when I was living in a college dorm with thousands of other students and this is the first time I've ever had a missing/stolen package. The fact that the supervisor knows what her driver did should be enough for them to compensate me for the cost of the package that their driver gave away. This was completely on them and it's awful that they could care less. People don't spend money to have things delivered to them only for USPS drivers to allow anyone claiming to be you to run off with your package. Thats identity theft, and whoever the driver was that day should be fired and this location should find a solution to this situation since it was their fault rather than having me call all these different numbers to push for a case. read more

I wish there were a zero rating, that's what they deserve. This is the worst post office I've ever encountered. Our apartment building did not receive mail for 6 to 7 weeks. We sent in several complaints, got a total runaround from so-called supervisors. I asked why they were holding my mail, one said they haven't got my mail, that a machine misdirected it and I had to wait. This one was arrogant and rude. The next one said they would direct my complaints to a supervisor, no one contacted me. When one of them finally contacted me the excuse was "she lost her key to your building" and that they were holding my mail and I have to now come in to pick it up. The crowd working there is rude, with no manners, are unprofessional. I have never received some of the mail that was in the informed delivery pictures. I hate to think how things really work in this place. read more

Mail carriers have been mis-delivering for many years. My mail gets delivered to other people in my building and I get mail intended for my neighbors and other people who don't even live on my street. This is the only post office I know of that is open til 7! Yipeee! The service is stellar and the line always moves quickly. The only negative: there's rarely extra supplies like pens handy to write on packages. You can also apply for a passport at this post office, use the automatic postage machine (for packages and envelopes, too), and there's customer parking in their very own lot. Marcus and crew are awesome; polite, funny, and work seamlessly together like a well-oiled machine. I have no idea why this post office doesn't already have 5 stars. This post office is different than most I have visited. And, the line moves so fast. However, I have been coming here for 4 years and waited only a few minutes, a couple of times. The other times, I have been served right away. The key? Go at off hours or around 3:30pm. Again, love this place for all my shopping and mailing needs. I have never had a bad experience at this post office. They stay open late on Saturdays and despite being extremely understaffed they tend to be pretty efficient. Yes, it is often busy and yes, I have had to wait in line for a few minutes, but I think it's reasonable considering they are in need of more employees and the staff seems to handle the long lines and disgruntled customers well. There is one experience I would like to share: A year or so ago, I had sold a camera and I dropped it off at that post office to be shipped. About 30 minutes later, I received a notice from Amazon telling me that the "buyer" of the camera was a very convincing scam artist and not to ship my camera. This was a very expensive camera and to lose it like that would have been extremely unfortunate. With that news I raced back to the post office to see if I could get my camera back but the truck had already left with my camera in it. The manager, was so helpful and pleasant and sympathetic. He tracked down the truck, found out where it was and drove to the truck's location to bring my camera back to me. This man went above and beyond his duty in order to help me and I have remained grateful to him ever since. read more

Best experience I've ever had at a post office, and surprising considering how many negative reviews there are here. Keep in mind, this was a one-time situation on a Saturday at 11am having to mail a package. I do not have a PO box here. There was no line, several employees waiting to help people, and the lady who helped me was very friendly and suggested the cheapest option for my package to still arrive Monday. Looks like most of the negative reviews are due to mishandling packages, so I'll update if mine doesn't arrive. But from my one experience today, I will definitely come back here rather than the post office on Culver. read more

Wow, I'm actually really surprised by all of the bad reviews here!!! I've been using this post office for afew years now and have had nothing but good experiences. The people working there recognize my boyfriend and I and are always all smiles, especially the sweet little asian lady. I've had a mailbox here for about a year and I ship ALOT of items out, both within the US and internationally so I do alot of face-to-face dealings here. The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that, yes, sometimes the lines are really long, out the door. But honestly, even when the lines are long they move quickly. I've never had to wait longer than 10-15 minutes. I love this post office. I don't know why others had such bad experiences here but I hope I continue to have good service like I always have here. :) read more

Most post offices are slow, but this one was just almost unbearable. The line was confusing because some people were picking up packages, and others (like me) needed to get other business done, like purchasing money orders. After helping each customer, I've seen the employees slowly and agonizingly move package after package after package to the back room. Get a dolly! I will say that my personal transaction went smoothly, as it was a simple money order. But after watching each customer trudge away from the front counter, I felt myself get a little sadder on the inside each time. read more

Here I am writing review for a post office! I have lost several packages before because this USPS puts my packages at the parallel road apt instead of our apt. It is at the mercy of the other residents that occasionally we receive our packages. The US immigration dept. had sent me my work permit and travel authorization ID card, which has my biometric information. As usual USPS at Motor Ave lost the package and when inquired they just asked me to place a search request online, for which obviously there was no response ever. When I decided to reapply for work permit, I came to know that I need to pay a few hundred dollars as application fee and that I will be exempted from it if I got a letter from the post office saying that the package was lost. For almost a week I was walking in an out of this post office trying to get that letter and they kept sending me back with arbitrary reasons. With no one properly responding to my calls or requests (that includes the LA post master's office) I decided today to stay back at the USPS office. I was initially dealt by Ms. Evans who outright said that she can't give any letters. When I explained to her the situation, another younger staff (I don't know her name) took over and repeated same thing. When I asked them to let me meet the manager (Julio Ruiz), I was told that he is in a meeting, they don't know when the meeting will be over and asked me to come again later. I told her I am 5 and a half months pregnant and I can't keep coming and going the whole time just for one letter. She said then I will have to wait and I stood waiting for 2-3 hours without even a seat. It was getting painful for me after sometime, the baby kept kicking and my legs were tiring. And these two women (Ms Evans and the other younger woman) were hiding inside their chambers and kept peeping every now and then to check if I left. Fortunately, some other staff at the front desk saw the pregnant me struggling to stand and felt some sympathy for me. They told me that no manager will come to rescue and asked me to never give up though! Finally they advised me to call the USPS customer affairs and gave their number. A very kind woman at the customer affair office, listened to my problem, immediately emailed me the letter I needed and didn't hang up until she made sure that I received the email. I was wondering if the same thing happened at a restaurant or a private firm, will a pregnant woman be made to stand waiting for 2-3 hours without even being offered a seat or a request to meet the manager! They are just getting away with the fact that they are govt. employees and there is no consequence if they mistreated their customers! What a poor treatment and worst service! Welp, it happened, I was presented with an offer I couldn't refuse, and thus returned to the dominion of this post office. I'm cautiously optimistic. I even made it through the holiday madness still feeling better about our relationship this second time around. It is a HUGE help to have a great mail carrier. You, sir or madam, delivering on Glendon north of Venice, are a rockstar. I do not begrudge you your pension. And apparently this location has stopped losing items consistently, and most of the time will now scan the barcodes for delivery confirmation, which were two of my major gripes in the past. So let's do it Palms Station, let's get that Yelp rating from 2 to 3. Small steps here. Goals. On another note, for reasons I still don't understand, a LOT of people in this area would rather stand in line and look rather grumpy, than learn to print labels via usps.com or paypal. People also seem to be loathe to use the self service machine for stamps or labeling. These people clog the line and the parking lot, and it just makes no sense! So that's my one star deduction. But congrats Palms, my ire has transferred from the institution to the consumer, excellent progress. read more

I run a business on Venice Blvd. My business neighbors and I are not very happy with the way our mail is handled. Some days we have mail, some days the mailman does not show up. We depend on the checks we receive for our customers to make a living and pay our employees and rent etc.. You're like the bastard child that even if idiot soccer moms can't see my bike that was parked across the street from them I still keep coming back for more... and thankfully I haven't gotten a parking ticket yet but said lady was bad enough. So what if your customers give me dirty looks as I stand there on my bluetooth when I run out of stamps or some foreigner requests I ship their postcard in an envelope (bizarre) . I never thought I would write a review of a post office, but my experience here is always SO negative, i hope that someone at USPS will read this and other reviews and DO something to change this branch. The service here is so apathetic even antagonistic, its appalling. Here's my latest experience: -Order book on Amazon (simple, right?) -get an email at 11;45 pm that order was delivered. (??) -get an email at 11:45:30 that delivery attempt was made but no one was home (i work from home all day, so that's wrong, and also at 11:45 I was surely home) - in post box, there is no delivery notice. - next day, I get a pink slip/ delivery attempt notice. - go to post office and wait for 20 min. - clerk returns after looking for package and asks me to write my name and number on a blank paper, saying they will call me when they find the package. I ask "don't you have it? did you lose it" - her snarky reply: " I didn't SAY i did, did i? Are you hearing me? I said we will call you WHEN we find it" - that was 2.5 weeks ago. No record of package, they certainly haven't called me because they don't care. - So now I'm stuck having paid for a book that is no where, and with a local post office branch that could not care less about the service they offer. read more

I don't see what all the fuss in these bad reviews is about. It's a post office! They do their job effectively. They are friendly. And they can always answer any questions you have. What more do you want?! It's a public service. Everyone dreads the DMV because of the wait...but you know waiting is part of it so why hold it against them? Same goes here. Yea, the line may be long sometimes but whatever. Wait, ship your stuff, and continue your day. It never takes more than 30 mins max (and that's with a line out the door and people super confused with what they are doing). Maybe I have more patience because I am one of those people that needs assistance in almost every package. I never seem to grab the right box! Haha. Whenever I have a package slip, I walk straight to the counter on the far end and someone always comes shortly thereafter to get my slip and find my package. Super quick and easy, always! Everyone here is nice and patient....so you should be too! They are my post office but they are chill. And that's why I go for my general mailing errands, not only when a slip summons me there. I often come to this post office for 6-7years, but only one man was always gentle and kind. He had short hair, but recently he has long dreadlocks. I've just been beaten senseless at the Preuss Station (90035)too many times, so I was feeling REALLY apprehensive about going in to the Palms station (esp with the reviews). But, it's in my neighborhood. I can honestly say that after about half-dozen visits here, this station is the least evil. I've never had to deal with any attitude or laziness. Twice they've assisted me very politely with issues at Preuss. They didn't have to do this, but they offered. I don't know why the USPS in Los Angeles is so horrible to their customers. I don't know why there is absolutely no accountability. But so far the Palms Station has been A-OK with me. read more

Let me start by saying that a carrier should never mark a package as being delivered when it has not in fact been delivered. This has happened to me multiple times now. What will happen is I will go on the online portal and the tracking system says that the package is delivered. I'll go to my mail box and nothing will be there. I will wait for several days, where the package will not appear until I get a slip from the post office saying that it is "undeliverable". How small packages that can fit inside of a mailbox are undeliverable is beyond me, especially when you do not knock on my door to see if I am home (I was). On top of that, the carrier refuses to take outgoing mail, leaving them in the mailbox until you are forced to take it to another mailbox yourself, they will not take your redelivery slips (you know, the ones they provide so you can get your mail redelivered by them at a different time since they marked the mail as undeliverable to begin with), they deliver the mail in the wrong mailboxes, and they throw packages so hard against the front door that it creates dents in the boxes. Plus, the employees at the center aren't too swell either. The only good thing I can say is that they have customer parking. read more

DON'T RENT A PO BOX FROM THESE PEOPLE - WHEN CONFRONTED WITH THE EVIDENCE OF THEIR INEPTNESS, THE SUPERVISOR RAFIE TIGOLO ANSWER TO EVERYTHING IS "THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO" I had a PO Box at the Palms location, they routinely lose mail and/or return it to the sender for no stated reason. They locked me out of the Box I had been paying for, for over 10 years, stating repeatedly that it wasn't my box, and then when they decided it was my box, made me wait over an hour while they rekeyed it. The last straw was finally receiving a letter from LA on 4/6/18 that was postmarked 12/29/17, over three months later. I had paid through October and they refused to refund my money. The UPS store on the corner of Venice and Palms will rent you a box for less money and actually give you your mail. read more

Since I moved to West Los Angeles, I have used four different Usps office. This is the best of the best. Very helpful staff, easy parking. People work there not robots. Which is worse: going to the DMV or to the post office??? Incompetent, slow, rude, lazy...all words that came to mind while I stood in line. This location requires that you stand in a different line if you need to pick something up, whether it be a certified letter or package, if you received one of those "sorry, we missed you" notices. I have received a number of international parcels up until now with no problems. Before, the mail carrier would just leave it at my doorstep. Then, he/she got a little lazy and started to put packages underneath the mail boxes of my apt. instead of walking up to my second floor unit. I didn't care as long as I got them. And now, for whatever reason I got a notice saying it's being held at the post office. I went the day after I got the notice and stood in line for about 15-20 mins. before one of the staff told me he couldn't find it! He gave me a number to call. I thought, "Eff that, I'm gonna come back in person first thing in the morning!" I thought things would be a little more organized right when it opened. Boy, was I wrong! I went a few mins. before opening and there were already 5 people ahead of me. There was only one lady helping customers buy stamps and mail stuff. After about 10 mins. the manager finally came to help us in the package pick up line. But this line isn't just for pick up; people who have issues with their PO boxes and lost packages also stand in this line. The manager came out, listened to one girl complain about a missing package, and then disappeared to the back. We didn't see her again! Multiple customers came and went. THE WORST POST OFFICE EVER!!! Someone at this post office is STEALING. Two packages have been "lost" even though the tracking say delivered. I called and called and they never know which carrier was responsible for it! DO NOT TRUST THEM. They are under staffed, rude and slow. I'm going to file a complaint. I want to bring them down. I want to ruin their lives! When I first moved to LA (from New York) I had 2 boxed mailed to my new apartment. Those boxes had practically everything I own. I always got "missed delivery" notices even when I'm in my own house waiting for them. Never a knock on the door. I've called, got put on hold for a very long time. After a week of trying to get those boxes I finally talked to the carrier who was responsible for this. She said "I'm not going to hurt myself so you need to come and pick up the boxes." I don't have a car...I'm new to LA. What the hell...Few days later of calling them EVERYDAY they finally got a male carrier with a truck to bring it to me. This was about 5 months ago. read more

Seriously EVERYONE WORKING HERE SHOULD BE FIRED and replaced with competent employees. From top to bottom. For years now I have had problems with package delivery. Often they are scanned as "delivered, left in/at mailbox" yet there is no package to be found. Sometimes they show up a few hours later, sometimes the next day, usually never. A few months ago I finally got in touch with the station manager, Damon Leopold, and he explained that they were able to tell by GPS that the carrier was scanning packages in another part of town as "delivered" long before reaching my building in order to save time and that they had already told them not to do this. Other times the tracking says "attempted delivery notice left" even though I was home, no knock on the door, no slip left in the mailbox. I had both situations occur last week. First, three packages were scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday but only two made it. All three were scanned as "delivered" and I brought them in from the mailbox 10 minutes later so I doubt someone walked by in that time and stole it. I called the main customer service line and opened a case but never got a call back. I left a polite voicemail and dropped an email to Damon with no response to either. The package never arrived and I am out $60 since the shipper sent it uninsured. Was it delivered to the wrong address? Did the carrier pilfer it? Who knows? Add it to the many others that have disappeared. Later in the week, another package was scheduled for delivery on Thursday but we received no mail at all and it was marked as "notice left". No mail again on Friday, and it the tracking said "business closed, held for pickup". Scans both days were after 9pm. We were home both nights and my apartment building is NOT a business! Saturday morning I went to the post office to see if I could pick up the package only to be told it was out with the carrier again. The woman helping me was very rude (as most are here) and didn't want to give me any information. When I showed her the tracking information and asked about the late night scans she stared at the page like it was in Greek. Finally the guy next to here leaned over and said "oh that's when the carrier runs out of time and they just scan it as whatever". So basically, we got no mail for two days because the carrier didn't get around to our place. Luckily the item showed up that afternoon, after I wasted 40 minutes of my time that morning. Before the rude lady came out there was another guy helping with will-call. Seeing a bluetooth headset in his ear, I suspected he was a manager and possibly even Damon Leopold himself. We had only spoken with him on the phone, but never met him in person. When I asked the lady if that was the station manager she said "well he's a manager". I asked if it was Damon and she said "no" but the guy next to her overheard and piped up "oh yeah, that's Damon Leopold!" It turns out that the girl in front of me was also there to complain about not getting her mail for several days, and she had already asked to talk to Damon. She was waiting at the end of the counter for him to come back out. When I asked if I could speak to him after her, rude lady said "oh he's going to call her." In the end, he suddenly and conveniently became unavailable to speak to either of us. The other girl, who lived miles away from me, explained that she had not received mail for about three days although the carrier showed up late one night and bailed without leaving anything because it started to sprinkle out. So much for "neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night". Bottom line this is the worst post office in a town filled with bad post offices. Long lines, rude lazy employees, incompetent carriers. If this was a private company it would have gone out of business long ago. I no longer trust them to deliver anything and I will go out of my way to choose other carriers whenever possible. read more

If you happen to be waiting in line or have a question while in the post office and the time becomes 5 PM which is closing time...regardless of the fact you were there before they closed, you have now become a very apparent annoyance to these usps ladies who have, in the same moment, seem to have become blind, deaf and incompetent so you can just forget about customer service. "CRAIG" yelled over me, was overly aggressive, and verbally harassed me when I called about a missing package (which never got delivered..EVER) and then hung up on me multiple times. She cussed at me and belittled me in ways no person ever, let alone in customer service, should do! I cringe when I order something and it gets shipped through USPS. I am constantly having problems with packages coming through the Palms Post Office. Recently I chose two day shipping from a company that only uses the USPS to mail packages. I hung around my apartment waiting for a delivery and around 6:00 pm Saturday I got an email saying sorry we missed you, this was after looking out of the window looking for a carrier. No notice was left, because no package was attempted to be delivered (happens in this neighborhood all the time). Something has to be done about the bad service at this Post Office. Those of you reading most of the good reviews are reviews from people that had no packages with attempted deliveries, but people who actually went to the post office. someone at this post office is stealing mail. Please be aware of the following if you get a notice to pick up a package. pay close attention to 1. SENDER who is it from? they only put the country it was from. no name 2. Check for a tracking number or a customs form number? my stolen pkg had a customs form number. however it was NOT written on the form 3. make sure you ask them to SCAN the back barcode or type in the number all the forms have a scannable number/barcode. the number they gave me was not a number that came from postal service. It seems to me like organized crime. the BAIT and SWITCH. 4. The post office will try to make it seem like its your fault, talk rudely to you and say, "oh we don't do it that way." of course they have scanned in info but there are some CROOKS at this post office they are STEALING pkgs the manager of here will say she will call you back but she does not JUANITA and SonJA are the ones in charge at this post office. THEY will not return phone calls. Well they didn't call me back because i asked them questions and they didn't have answers. I wanted to know if they could scan my form. They said they don't do it that way? Well my question is why would the postal service put a bar code on the back of the notice to pick up mail so customer can sign to recieve it and they have a record of it but yet 90034 postal service does not have a record of my package. yet they said they had my package and they sent it back to Europe. Yet DHL even stated why hasn't it made it to customs if you sent it back. They are stealing mail. and that is not fair. read more
