Avoid it like the plague is right!! I ABHOR this place. It almost makes me want to move so I can get my mail from a different post office branch. For starters, the atmosphere is ALWAYS negative there. There is ALWAYS, ALWAYS a ridiculously LONG line, and our carriers have been complete and utter morons...it's almost a guarantee that I get someone else's mail practically every single day for the past 14 years...NO JOKE!! Makes me wonder where some of my mail might be. I know I mailed about 40 invitations to my sister's bridal shower at this branch and no one ever got them...they were LOST!! I feel bad for the other reviewers because I've been here A LOT due to being an eBayer as well as someone who has sold about 200 of his own books, and my experience has only been positive. I can't even remember anyone having an issue while I was waiting in line. Simply put, the folks here are polite and care. But I will admit that it seems that if you approach the post office with a bad attitude, you may leave with a bad attitude....used to see this in Brooklyn, and have seen it in North Hollywood too. The only reason I'm giving Palms Station one star is because there is no lower rating available. I NEVER go into the post office. I know there will be slow lines, too few people working there, etc. I get it. You are government employees, and so the customers are not really a concern. It takes an act of god to lose a government job. I get it. I've had multiple parcels disappear on their way to me. I've had an international package get logged in at Palms, never to be seen again. I've called and spoken to nearly everyone at this office in the last 6 months. Most of them are pretty friendly on the phone. And all of them have been able to do exactly NOTHING to help find my mail. The best I've gotten is an "I'm sorry, I'll call you back" - they don't. EVER. The best part, however, is that the mail that's disappearing is personal mail. Mail from family members, in personal envelopes. You know, the kind of mail that is likely to have have checks, gift certificates, gift cards, etc. Am I outright saying that the post office is stealing these things? No. Does it look like it? Sure as hell does. Don't worry, though - all the junkmail still makes it to my mailbox without fail. I implore everyone reading this review to use UPS or Fedex. Sorry, they're not open till 7 anymore. They close at 6 but don't expect them to tell you. We got a PO Box there only because they were open till 7 before, but they had the nerve to tell me, well, you better come earlier then... Like I had the choice to begin with. But there are far better post offices open till 7 in Mar Vista and Marina del Rey so we've switched. My Change of Address just sat on their desk for 3 weeks and Joyce didn't even apologize. What's the need? We're USPS, did you expect good service? My business mail delivery has been held up for 3 weeks now - imagine that. I'm a PO-Box-paying customer and Joyce et al. has the audacity to tell me before even checking, that our mail is being returned to the sender!!! No accountability. What do expect? It's the USPS! The service sucks here and they're as slow as mol*ass*es - that's why there's such a long line all the time. It takes them far too long and they all move at the same snail's pace. Parking here sucks. Turning into that dark garage is a risk with people walking right by the entrance, mail drop off cars rolling off the side walk, not to mention oncoming traffic or people speeding behind not anticipating your turn. Getting out is terrible and that alley is the worst alley I've ever driven on in L.A. It makes Baghdad look good. Save your car, save other lives, save your time. Avoid Palms Station. read more

You might, on occasion, get mail delivered to your home -- if your Palms delivery driver can be bothered. If it's been a long day, or he/she has better things to do, your building/street will be skipped entirely and any packages you were expecting will be delayed -- 1, 2, maybe 3 days. They'll get around to it eventually. Maybe. And if you're serviced by the Palms USPS, don't bother buying ordering anything by phone/online with expedited shipping. Amazon Prime? May as well torch $99 now. Customer service does not exist. They do not care. They will not return your calls and they will not respond to your complaints. If you somehow corner them and demand answers, you'll only get lies. What you won't get is satisfaction, a resolution, or your damned mail. The worst of the worst. read more

The staff was friendly and kind when I came to the store. However, when I contacted the carrier manager Ralphie about why I was not receiving my general mail his response was that I should call back in the morning so I can speak with the carrier directly. What amazes me is that all of the sudden it's my responsibility to manage his employees. When I asked if he would ask the carrier about the problem with my mail he said "I can call her but I think you should." Unbelievable. read more

I concur. This station is the worst. We moved into a new building recently and we have been having problems w/ our buzzer, hence the mailman can't get in from time to time. I have politely been down to the station to explain the situation and pick up my mail. We have been missing bills and magazines (uggh). To make a long story short, the few ladies I spoke to were some of the rudest, laziest and unhelpful people I have ever met. The first time I went I actually believed their excuses on why they shouldn't get up and look for my mail. The second time I went down and insisted there was a problem, one lady got in my face trying to make me feel guilty for trying to get my mail. The third time, I was accused it was my fault this was all happening. I was even home sick on Friday afternoon and saw the mailman outside on the street and he just walked right by our building!!! If there is something I or we can do to help turn this station around I'm all ears. This post office gives government services a horrible name. Everyone knows the USPS is bad in general, but this place is even worse than the typical post office. I sent a package to a friend who lives in Palms, tracking info said the package was delivered, package was not received, I opened an investigation, had to call four times, every time they said "I need to speak to the carrier and call you back," when I finally received a call back the woman put the carrier on the phone who just said, "when I leave packages at that building I usually write the apartment number on them in marker so people can see it." Um, that's great, but the package was not received. I asked if I had any recourse and the carrier just kept repeating "it's a secured building, I delivered the package, I use a marker..." NOT HELPFUL. He finally put the "supervisor" back on the phone so she could just repeat what the carrier had already said. She added, "the package was delivered to the building, we have met our obligation." The end. I wouldn't normally spend my time reviewing a post office, but after seeing other reviews with poor service and missing packages I thought I should add my experience. Their operations are totally SKETCHY. So, I'm just supposed to take the carrier's word that he delivered the package because he scanned it as delivered? I don't think so! read more

Just 3 months ago, we moved to LA and decided to order a small desk from a Target that was less than 5 miles away from us. The delivery service was USPS and we were supposed to receive our delivery in less than a week span however, I had to call USPS multiple times ONLY to find out that they kept postponing the delivery because it was "too heavy" for the delivery person to take. Literally after demanding the USPS rep on the phone, they ended up delivering my desk that same day...which was a Saturday. Took 2 weeks longer than it the expected delivery date. Terrible experience...anyway, that's not why we are even writing this review. See below: I ordered some products for my business inventory. USPS attempted to deliver on Sunday (even tho they themselves consider Sunday not to be a business day) and utterly failed. We called them Monday evening to check up on our item as our USPS tracking page noted it would be re-delivered Monday; the USPS rep even said they would ensure the delivery person would be be equipped with the info they needed to access our apt complex. However, it turns out they never attempted to deliver it Monday to start with. We called again Tuesday only to be told they lost our item and that they don't know how they can help us. I don't understand why this was not immediately communicated to us, they strung us along only to admit they lost our items and the service woman basically just told us 'I don't know what to tell you because I don't know what to do in this situation'. I can't imagine that this is such a unique scenario, how are the employees not trained to address lost items? We've used USPS in NJ and NYC for YEARS and never had as many issues with the USPS here in LA (and we've only been in LA for 3 months). It's such an utterly frustrating experience!!! read more

Unfortunately, this is the post office for our business (Zip Code 90034). They are terrible. We have a history of mis-delivered mail with them. They lost an entire day's worth of mail we sent out (including a lot of bill payments) and send back properly addressed mail (including checks) that people try to send to us. When I've called them in the past to complain, I get a busy signal and have to push redial for most of the day, until it becomes a personal mission just to get the phone to ring. It forces me to go in, personally, to try to speak to someone, but even then, no one person is accountable and this is just a broken machine of a post office that will continue to misdeliver and lose mail. Our carrier never comes at a consistent time, and now often shows up after we've closed. I'm at the end of my rope and am considering filing a complaint with the Postal Service's Consumer Advocate office in D.C. ... even though I doubt it will do much good. I wish we could change our carrier and our post office. read more

UPDATE: After a year of submitting at least one complaint a month that a significant amount of my mail doesn't get delivered, and there is never a notification left when they don't deliver packages, this post office without notifying me has stopped delivering any mail. Thanks to checking my tracking numbers I learned I have the privilege of coming down to the office itself to pick it up. Looking to approach community organizations in an effort to force this post office to give a hoot about service. ====================== I experience so many mail delivery issues with this office that it was making me paranoid that I was somehow being targeting by my carrier, and the staff at the desk were rude because I am in so frequently to complain. However, seeing the overwhelming extreme negative reviews for this place, I can take solace in I am not alone... I guess. While almost all the staff at the office itself are rude far beyond the point of simply being unhappy and overworked and seem to actually enjoy making other people upset, I will say some of the younger staff is nice and do try to help you. All I wanted to do was pick up a package, and the lady (her name was Laurissa Harvey) took my slip along with a few other people's and then came out with everyone's package but mine. She then asked a few other people who came in after me for their slips. I continued to be patient, and kindly let the lady know that I've already been waiting. She then told me she had been going in order (Which wasn't true). AGAIN, she comes out with two sets of packages and finally tells me that she is about to look for mine, all the while taking another lady's slip. After 3 weeks, my parents asked me how we liked the present, which we had no idea about. I then went into the office with the tracking number my mom sent us. The lady found it on the computer, went to the back and came back 5 minutes later with NOTHING. She told me that my package could not be found, even though the computer said it should be here. I told her that I never even received a single notice about the package and she just said that is unusual and I should call back the next day. For the next 2 weeks I called them every day, (mainly Mr. Carillo) and every day they told me that they would call me back, but they never did and never had any updates. After 2 weeks week I filed a complaint with the USPS Postal Inspection Service. It's now been 4 months, and I haven't been able to get any updates, or any money back for my lost heirloom. The postal inspector told me that 4 months really isn't a long time when it comes to lost packages. At this point I'm just hoping I'll see results by the time my 10 year wedding anniversary comes around. It's funny going to this office, because literally 4/5 people at the package pickup window, ask if their package has been found yet. I know this because this office has such wonderfully long lines, so that you can enjoy watching the rest of the non-working employees eat their snacks. I'm glad my tax money is going to a good cause, providing snacks to mail thieves. I totally agree with one of the other reviewers, that I hope this changes soon, because I literally want to move out of my apartment that I love, just so I can have a decent post office again. The funny thing is, when I mentioned that I hate my local post office to my co-workers, the first response was, "Oh, is it the one on Motor?", and I just laughed. Horrible, horrible experience with this post office! I have not been this frustrated with anything before. If it had been once or twice, I would attribute it to random chance and unfortunate events but they regularly fail to deliver my packages. I've gotten notices online that they attempted delivery at 10pm and I wasn't home. Who are we kidding? First, this is way outside of their work hours. Second, yes, I was home and nobody attempted to contact me. If I had not checked online, I wouldn't even know they had supposedly "attempted delivery." Other times, they have claimed "Customer not available or business closed" when none of the statements was true. I've also gone to their office to collect the package myself when the online status says it's in their possession for days yet I have not received it. Even then, they have been unable to find my package and after a long time wasted in line, I've had to drive back home and wait for days until it finally turns up. What is worse, I had ordered an ipod through amazon and for some inconceivable reason, amazon decided to use USPS to mail it. The ipod never came even though the online status changed to "delivered." I received two other packages through UPS that day, yet the USPS one was the only one that disappeared... I've written complaints to their customer service and I strongly hope they improve. Every time I order something online and the delivery method turns out to be USPS, I dread the future of uncertainty and postal errors. It's unprofessional and extremely disappointing. If I had to choose, I would never use their services again. read more

I run a business out of my home. I can't for the life of me figure out why I have to wait till seven or 8 o'clock at night regularly to get my mail when the post office is literally a block and a half away. This is so frustrating. I don't get it it makes no sense! Whenever I do get the mail I have to wait till the next business day to do anything productive with my mail because everything is closed by the time my mailman gets around to delivering. On May 21st, I waited 30 mins in line to mail a small envelope to France. A month later, the tracking information was still missing on the website, only indicating that I dropped it of at the Palms Station at 3751 Motor Ave. I called the station at 310-839-0286. After a 30 minutes wait on the phone, the staff told me it was stuck in Customs and to wait a few more days. Two months later, the envelope was still nowhere to be found. The tracking information on the USPS website actually indicated that it never left the Palms Station. I showed up at the Palms station because the only thing they kept saying over the phone was that "it was stuck in Customs and there was nothing they could do about it". I insisted to file a complain and they referred me to the USPS toll free number 1-800-275-8777. I called the number and opened a case. I was referred to Consumer Affairs for the follow up. Consumer Affairs referred me to my local Post Office (from my neighborhood). My local Post Office stated it was lost. No further details was provided, nor why it happened or if an investigation to find the theft would be done. Where is my package? The staff referred me back to the Palms station to request the reimbursement of my package fee, but no money back for the content of the envelope. I did not know I could not recover my money when obviously somebody stole my mail!? I have a customs form tracking number to prove it and they asked me to indicate how much the content was worth on the form. But still, they assume no responsibility! Isn't it run by the Federal Government? And at the end, the only way to solve this is to make you run in circle until you give up. Way to go! You lost a customer. read more

Sure, the clerks can be a pain in the ass here sometimes, but how do you think they feel about dumb ass customers who are impatient, complaining, and otherwise immature and disrespectful? I filed a formal complaint after the supervisor or the facility - Mr Sam Johnson, explained that I could not have my package because I "might be divorced" like his x-wife, and I "might be" trying to steal my x-husbands mail. I'm not kidding. Note, Im happily married for almost ten years. TMI. I showed a valid drivers liscence with the same address and explained that there is no legal requirment to change one's name after marriage. (Please note, I've actually picked up packages from this very Mr johnson on many occasions, yet he does not recogize a repeat customer- apparently, we all look like his x-wife!) I'll see how the complaint goes, though I fear I may not properly receive mail for the next few months... Oops- forgot to mention he gave me 2, not 1, yes 2, incorrect numbers to call and complain- seems pretty basic for a supervisor to have a customer service number? She insisted that there would be no difference in delivery times. I had to explain to her that there is a difference in COST. After repeated request for all my mailing options, she finally relented. This is the worst post office ever! After reading some of the reviews, I'm not impressed that majority shares the same opinion. Even asking to borrow a pen can be a hassle and resulting on a rude attitude, almost like as if you're asking to mail stuff for free. The only reason I go to this location is because is one block away from my house, but if I have the time I'll drive to another one or use Fedex. They say that the USPS is filing for bankruptcy because people use more online resources and less mailing, which could in part be true, but maybe better training their employees and remodeling their facilities would attract more customers. read more

I spoke to "HARVEY" over the phone to see if my package was still at the post office so I could go and pick it up, she was supper rude. She was having a side conversation as she spoke to me on the phone didn't even bother to put me on hold (or she thought she did) I heard her whole conversation she had with another employee. This is by far the worse customer service I have ever had!!! I live in the neighborhood and I will not tolerate the "service" I was provided. They will be receiving an email from me real soon and I hope she gets fired, and someone who actually wants and needs a job gets her position. This post office is grungy and disorganized. Priority mail boxes are strewn everywhere, except in the displays that are specifically designed for this purpose. They have two such displays, both of which were practically empty the last time I visited the office. They are perpetually out of smaller sized Priority Mail flat rate boxes, but they're happy to provide a similarly sized non-flat rate box so you can send your package for several dollars more. For some reason I always end up being served by the same person--the African American guy who sits in the center of the counter. He's always fast and friendly. So one extra star for friendly personnel, but in general I'd try to use a different post office if at all possible. read more

This station is okay but usually has very long lines and they certainly don't hurry. Some of them have a bad attitude, like "we don't have to care, we're the post office", while others are very nice and friendly and want to do a good job. Let's fact it, it's a tough job and any job where people have to wait in long lines will lead to unhappy customers and unhappy employees so there's an inherent problem to begin with. I think it's hilarious how they close exactly at 6. I work at Yogurtland and if we see stragglers walking in only a couple minutes after, we let them in and it's crazy how happy they get. But man, this lady who told more than 15 of us that they were closed in a rude way I think needs someone to lighten up her day. This man had a quick question and she wouldn't answer it when all she did was stand at the door while waiting for the rest of the people in line. She was moody, lazy as heck. Ok there's one employee that I have to acknowledge! Her name is Cheryl, the sweetest lady who is genuinely want to help you. I will rather wait for her to help me out and I am not stingy to share this on Yelp. The "ladies" here are so rude, it's ridiculous. I dread going to the post office but this is the closest one to me with a self-service kiosk. I was using the SSK and some lazy woman standing just around was spying on me. I clicked the wrong button and she yelled half way across the room that I was doing it wrong instead of nicely and professionally coming up to help me. What's worse is that I think she was the manager or a supervisor. I guess it's not that hard to be a postal employee if they hire people like this. They are open on Saturday's! Wooo! I was greeted by a lady standing outside the counter who was super friendly and helped expedite my shipping process. Good customer service at this location is hit or miss. The clerks tend to use derogatory language, and become flustered by simple questions.

Some of the employees are nice that work there. But there is one very rude woman who always seems to be getting in an argument with some customer or another. I've seen her yell at customers on at least three different occasions. Usually plenty of parking. Easy to drive up & drop off in mail box. Only 2 stars due to the rude woman that works there. Omg! I live behind this post office and they have absolutely no consideration for the people who live in the area. The delivery trucks come alll hours of the night and noise is horrendous! Not to mention that this is in a garage so everything is 100 x louder. I'm sure the employees working there have hearing problems. It sounds like a war is going on over there. The fact that I'm doing a review on the USPS is pretty sad. I was expecting a package to be delivered to me last Thursday. I check the tracking to find out my package was delivered and signed for. Pretty weird as I don't live with anyone and I don't associate with my neighbors, so who on earth could have my package. After days of going back and forth with this location, the supervisor informed me that the driver that day allowed someone who was just in the vicinity of my apartment complex sign for my package because they were claiming it was me. Already annoyed by this response, but to make matters even worst she then says that often times drivers will do that. However I called the Postal Inspection Service because now I have a case for this package and they said that is not policy at all. A package can not be signed for by anyone that is not inside of the apartment. So nobody from the street or even outside the door can sign for a package. This location pretty much has done nothing for me in regards to why their driver allowed someone to accept my package. No form of sympathy at all, more so felt like they just thought I was lying about the entire situation. I've been ordering packages from this company since 2014, even when I was living in a college dorm with thousands of other students and this is the first time I've ever had a missing/stolen package. The fact that the supervisor knows what her driver did should be enough for them to compensate me for the cost of the package that their driver gave away. This was completely on them and it's awful that they could care less. People don't spend money to have things delivered to them only for USPS drivers to allow anyone claiming to be you to run off with your package. Thats identity theft, and whoever the driver was that day should be fired and this location should find a solution to this situation since it was their fault rather than having me call all these different numbers to push for a case. read more

I've never had such a horrible experience with my mail delivery. This is our local branch, and the mail carrier for our street NEVER EVER has actually delivered a package. In fact, in EVERY case they have lied on the tracking saying the package was unable to be delivered because "business was closed" (it's house you idiot) or "no one available to receive" etc. In every case I have been home at the time they have claimed to make the delivery. I also have a dog, who barks when anyone comes up to the house and guess what - NO ONE HAS EVER ACTUALLY TRIED because she's never barked at those times. It's just lies. I sincerely wish there were a way to never have a package sent to me via USPS. Every other carrier has no problem whatsoever. read more
