I've been going to this post office quite frequently in the last year or two. People there have been very friendly, fast, and knowledgeable.

This lady closing today was literally being rude arguing with her coworker as we walked up and tried to close the gate on me 20 min before actual closing time despite me being on the counter filing out the shortest form. She proceeded to scold me about how I write my ones "1" saying I should write them like this "l" instead, so because she read a "7" instead of a one...... I'm like girl?!?! The one looks just the like one we type out when we click 1 in any keyboard. She started to argue with me scolding me then backtracked and started insinuating the address I wrote was wrong when it was in fact correct like.... Seriously wtf I had to point at a sign with a literal number 1 on it and she was like I don't know what that is.... WTFFFFFF???? I'm like girl if you don't mail my envelope rn.... She eventually did but she was a total jerk for no reason. read more

I have been going to this post office for 7 years. At the counter, 2 employees: Cindy on the left, Robert (the tall Latino) on the right. Cindy is normally always very kind and efficient compared to Robert who is rude and incompetent. Over the last 3 years, he has sent 2 of my parcels for France elsewhere: one to India (I still don't believe it!), the second somewhere in limbo. Both were returned to me after several weeks. Yet each time I asked him if he had difficulty deciphering my writing (as he never answered, I thought everything was fine). Another time, I asked him if he could put extra tape on my envelope: "No, you have to buy some," while pointing at the supplies hanging on the wall. Not that long ago a package I was expecting was delivered to the wrong zip code so I had to go to the post office and I explained him the problem - This is his list of stupid responses: (1) You need to go to your post office. (2) Do you live in Austin?. (3) You need to call the company first (don't you think I already did?!). Well the guy didn't have the slightess idea what to do so he asked his manager but after that... he was still unable to give a valid answer, so I had to talk to the manager directly. He seriously starts to get on my nerves so today when I went there - And I don't know why but I have to deal with R. 80% of the time (!) - I decided to skip my turn with him saying "No, I'll go with her (Cindy)'... and this time the always lovely Cindy went as cold as ice without a glance, a goodbye, anything. Wow! How what is a simple, common thing - going to USPS - slowly turned into an unpleasant experience. read more

This place is a small post office. It's great because it's never. Fast busy like the big one on Manchaca Lane. The office workers are typically helpful if you are not a shipping guru;) The downside is that I find that it usually takes an extra day for shipping because it goes to Austin first before it ships out. I drive from Buda to the Manchaca post office because it is so much better than my local one. The staff are polite and efficient, there's never a queue when I'm in there, and there is plenty parking. They also have a big cart for dropping off pre-pay packages, so those of us who do eBay, Poshmark, etc don't have to wait in line with the other customers read more

I just came from this post office to mail a package that had already had postal meter postage, tracking and everything It qualified for simply bring deposited in a mailbox but now the mail boxes all have slots that only take letters. So I went here for the first time just to hand it off for mailing. The guy was talking the whole time about who was to go on break next (only one other customer who was still filling out paperwork. He never said a word to me, just pulled this crumpled receipt out of the malfunctioning printer and tossed it to me. I hate dealing with the postal service and believe it is the best example of what we get when we put things in the "government's" hands. Lesson for all who think more things should be done by the federal government. I look forward to the dissolution of the USPS and I already try to do most shipping through UPS or FedEx or anyone else if possible read more

My favorite post office in the Austin area! Everyone is very nice, willing to help and when lines are long they get though them fast! Its always the same three people working the counter and they work well together. Also, they all get to know thier repeat customers like me! read more

0 star service. CINDY has terrible customer service. She was very bubbly and sweet with the woman ahead of me and when it was my turn all warmth disappeared. She bitterly asked how she could help me. I greeted her with a good morning which she did not return. I attempted to describe the service I needed however CINDY was quick to talk over me. She made it a point to talk over me and talk down to me the entirety of my visit. My issue wasn't that my packages returned to sender. My issue was that I walked into an establishment meant to service the community and was treated like I didn't belong in the community. You all are meant to serve the community regardless of gender, RACE, or anything of the sort. What was meant to a short visit and a little clarity on my next steps to remedy a situation, turned into me getting belittled and treated like I was less than a person. CINDY was so disrespectful to me. It was so unwarranted. It was truly heartbreaking to experience especially for my first time stepping foot in that post office. She needs to be spoken to about her behavior because it is truly unacceptable. I pray she gets the healing she desperately needs for the betterment of herself. read more

They leave expensive packages on the ground next to my locked mailbox instead of brining them to my house. My packages then get stolen

Have to say this place sucks! I agree with Meg E. and Anna S. reviews. Perry the manager was a total asshole to me. I was trying to get a package off to my mom, first of all he was totally preoccupied with his phone at the time. I just needed to get the postage and it was like he was irritated with the fact that it wasn't ready to go. USPS please screen your employees better. I realize you only need a HS diploma to work here but seriously. You should have them take a personality test too! eeks read more

The guy working the front was such a asshole to me. It was like 10 am and he crucified me for not having tape and made me feel like shit. I definitely won't be back bc it was just a shitty first impression. There is plenty USPS in Austin, and I'll just go there next time. Best post office in the Austin area! Who knew postal workers could actually be nice and helpful? If you are on the South end of town and want to avoid the normal wait and mess you find at most post offices, it's worth the extra few minutes to drive down to Manchaca and have a positive postal experience. read more

I have to review this post office for a couple of reasons. One, I've never had a bad experience here--I am always lucky enough to get either Ron or Jarred, both of whom are always sunny, helpful, and fun. Like, no kidding--once when there was a long line Ron kept things light and entertaining by announcing what celebrity every customer looked like, with customers applauding, laughing, and all talking to one another because of it. Jarred will talk about pets (ask him about his cats...), engage you in conversation, and always makes you feel he's happy to help. I have been in enough post offices to know how rare these guys are, and I go here even though it's not technically my post office--not least because there's rarely a long wait for service. As I left this morning the woman who'd been behind me came out with me and said, "Those guys are always fun." They always are. Makes a PiTA chore something enjoyable--thanks, guys. read more

I've lived in Manchaca for 26 years. I got a post office box 5 years ago, so I go a couple of times a week. I deal with the staff a couple of times a month. I have always, without exception, had a great experience here. They are patient with my endless questions, struggle with a credit card that doesn't want to work, and most recently a package that was missing, though shown as delivered. The postmaster took the time to show me back to his office to verify it was delivered correctly--it was. I worked for the IRS and know they do a phenomenal job with what they are given to work with. read more
