I found this Post Office when I first moved to the area about 4 years ago. This is my go to as they are not far from my house, great customer service/Staff and the best part is that (at least in my experience) it doesn't matter what time of day that you go there is never a crazy long line or wait. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would! I HATE COMING TO THIS POST OFFICE! This is the second time that the Asian lady who works at the front has been disrespectful towards me. Tried to make me pay 5$ for a whole roll of tape when I needed less than then 5in of tape. Label already printed and ready to go, but this absolute rude worker wanted to argue with me instead of help. She even had the nerve to say "this is a business, go to Walmart or Amazon" like seriously. You know what else is a part of a business customer service which they don't have! I went right to the lewisville location and before I even asked for tape, he offered it to me. FREE OF CHARGE. Do better! Trash customer service and workers! read more

The old man at the counter is very rude, he was helping the customer in front of me and he was very sarcastic with him. We went to get a change of a dress form, but he refused to give it to us and told us to go online because it was faster and I reply. I understand but I'm already here just give me the form and he refused to give it to me so I went to a different post office. They gave it to me, filled it out and they accepted it. Nope... Go to a different post office. It isn't acceptable for the automated postal machine to be down as much as it seems to have been, nor is it acceptable for the blue boxes inside to be so stuffed that the pull-down doors won't move to let you drop in some mail, nor is it acceptable for the blue boxes outside to be stuffed to the point that you can see mail about to fall out onto the curb! Also unacceptable: the persistent woe-is-me attitude of the woman employee in her ~50s with curly brown hair and glasses. The last time I was in here she yelled at the customer line to address their boxes, because "we're hourly, we're hourly..." ???!?!? In my experience, she consistently treats the customers like a cattle line, completely devoid of any customer service ability. I've had a bit better luck at the USPS at Stonebridge and Preston in Frisco; either way, go to a different post office location. Yep, it's that bad -- I'll drive out of my way to that one, to avoid this location less than two miles from my house. read more

no wonder people don't want to use USPS anymore. Apparently you can be a horrible customer service person and still get paid to be there. I was FORCD to use usps, and he wants to waste more of my time than was already wasted, sitting in line for 10 minutes to lecture me about how it may not even be his return, depending upon the company. When I explained to him that the company said I had to use an actual USPS location and provided me their address He still wanted to be "right" about how he might not be able to take my package after my wait. when he finally stopped trying to "teach me", I MIGHT be wrong. He finally shut up and scanned my QR code and GUESS WHAT it WAS THEM! Then the box wasn't taped up to his standards, and I could either pay tipple the price to use additional tape from him or I could not drop off my package. USPS fails again. I left and went to the other UPS location and the gave no issues taking it for their mail guy later that day. read more

Very sad to say that the staff at this US Post Office is just rude and good customer service is not their priority but simply a fact. I have been to this location more than once and each time say to myself, this is the last! Also, on more than one occasion the "up sale" routine is not always factual. Prime example is trying to charge a customer in front of me $4 each to send Christmas cards that were too thick to go through the postage machine and would "have to go as parcel" instead of suggesting Non-Machineable surcharge stamp (currently $1.15) which I use all the time and have never had an issue. It is not right. With only two positive reviews out of the 25 on this page and not one response from the management team, it is apparent that the post master of this location just doesn't care either. Unless absolutely necessary I will take my business to a local postal store and pay more to avoid the USPS. read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - McKinney, Texas

I haven't heard good things in my neighborhood about this post office. Often parcel boxes in my neighborhood are left open by the mail carrier with the packages in them. Mailboxes are often left open by the mail carrier (these are the kind of mailboxes that require keys). Four days ago I dropped off a priority parcel inside the post office, and four days later it still have not been scanned and started tracking. I've tried calling the post office but they do not answer- it just rings until infinity. Next time I'll drive to the next towns post office. read more

The guy that works upfront at this location is incredibly rude. I know USPS doesn't fire people but he is in the service industry. I should leave feeling belittled. I would chose another location but unfortunately they are really far away. If anyone knows how to report him please help. You shouldn't feel like your going to cry when you leave. read more

During this time of Covid-19, when small businesses are struggling for survival and trying to keep our heads above water, the last thing we need is to be treated like trash by the staff at this location because we have to drop off pre-stamped packages to ship. Yes, already stamped - nothing for the USPS employee to do but scan one piece of paper and put the envelopes in a big bin. But clearly, that is too much work for the gentleman who works there. Today, there are thousands of people who would be happy to have a job, yet he stares down everyone who walks into the building with disdain because that's just one more person that will add work to his day. If you hate your job so much, leave. If moving packages into a bin stinks, just put the darn bin outside and we will do it. By reading all of the comments on Yelp about this location, clearly the management does not care or is incapable of doing anything to address this HR-problem effectively. Will UPS be more-expensive, sure. But there's a clear reason why they are are whooping the Post Office...they actually provide their customers with customer service. read more

I run a small online business and have been dropping off packages here for years. I've had nothing but good experiences and wouldn't go anywhere else. Even when they are slammed, I speak and always get spoken to while dropping off my stuff. Sure it's a small place, you might wait a bit, but let's be courteous. I'm very happy going here, and I'm here almost every day. They've helped me track down a couple of packages that had been mis-routed. They've given advice on packaging which was very helpful. I just have not seen the rudeness being reported here. read more

I drop packages in the USPS drop box and at the counter during business hours. If you are going to stand in line USPS is always going to be long. But knock on wood they have not lost any packages over the past six months since I moved to the area. Everything has been great! read more

In the ironic days in which United States postal service is apparently profiting a billion +. I know... I had to inspect those sources! To go from always taking heavy losses to somehow being a "lean, mean, business". You would think an aspect or 2 would change. Especially when competing with the likes of Amazon, UpS, etc... astonishing. As a whole you should expect more from a service provider in any industry that relies on Customers. That said here is the one star story that brought me here today. As I walk into this branch. Oh man. I was basically bombarded by 2 reps regarding the shipping slip saying it was a letter not a package. I am mailing collector cards. Less then 2 oz. It's technically not a "letter" although I sent countless like this before - with zero issues. But not today. Apparently i would have had to remove labels and contents and place in an envelope provided by them. OK! No big deal. So I ask the clerk to show me which envelopes I could transfer them too. I guess he was rooted in the stool or something. As you points his finger at a rack or identical looking "envelopes" or "packages" if you are boosie. And states take the one on the end. There are at least 15 different products. So basically 14 ends. And he is point from the wide of it . So I got a roll my hand down the entire isle of products before the last one I touched being the usable "envelope". To make it worse it was the only one that was white.... Maybe just say the white one instead of stressing out his body by pointing. It was clearly to difficult to move past a stump position. So.. no biggie. I'm guessing this man is having a bad day. So as I am purchasing these envelopes and he is giving me change. He then informed me that the contents can't be strait transferred over. Oh no. I must first remove any piece if protection from these items . It's like maybe 0.75 - 1cm deep. At worst. Apparently it needs to be smashed down as if I had penned a one page hand written note to a jail buddy or something! At this point. It's clear I do not have the recommended experience to handle mail, nor am I capable of understanding the mathematical equation required to consider a letter that's in fact a package a letter. Tisk tisk. I guess I have been gaming the system. I'm so petty. "I hope you brought your own tape" yup that's what he said. He was so appalled that I didn't bring my own office supplies to a post office! How dare I! After all of this. I cut to the bluntest statement Possible. Stating he was the professional parcel service provider. So I don't care the cost. How my bad to pay double to reprint all new slips and we can just do it that way. Then next suggestion was expected. It's cheaper and easier on me for you to change them on stamps.com My goodness. If you are having a bad day. I encourage you visit this branch. This old stool man will make certainly remind you that life could in fact be worse. Hahaa. He belongs as a dmv clerk. Clerk for a profit business. I have lived all over the world including military bases with usps service on them. This location is awful. Allan is a horrible individual. I don't think I have ever encountered a more passive:aggressive person in my life and that is saying a lot. We lived less than a mile from this location for years and I avoided it at all cost after I questioned something and he acted so horribly rude to me. I spoke with the postmaster via the 1800 number and filed a report asking that he be retrained or moved to a different job and not frontline customer service. I spoke with the local hub (his supervisor) as well and nothing was ever done. People in the line were shocked that his behavior is continuing to be allowed. Since we have moved to a different city, I never go in this location anymore but today, I was in the area and dropped in to buy some supplies and package up the items I needed to mail. I used the desk area back in the back near the po boxes to get everything ready. My children were with me and my son wanted to sit in the chair located next to the kiosk. A jacket was on the chair and it had fallen to the ground when he sat down so he picked it up and put it by a bag that was located on top of the kiosk. Allan shouted from the front desk to the lady helping me on the floor that my son was "messing with her bag". I told her that he did no such thing as I was watching him. She apologized and walked back around to the desk to get something. While she was there, Allan kept mouthin off saying things like "I know what I saw" " I'm just doing my job". I had enough and went around to the front desk area and told him my son never "messed with her bag" and if he continued to harass us, I would call the cops. He continued to mouth off. This behavior is unacceptable. I know they have a union but repeated offenses can result in termination within a union so why is the USPS allowing this type of behavior to continue. He needs to be removed from all customer contact. Update: just made the decision to come in the horrific location to drop off a package and yet again, awful customer service. Seriously, why hasn't anything been done about the horrible workers that work at this location. There is no reason for them to be some nasty to customers. I didn't have any trouble at this location but I do warn you that it's an extremely small location and as other reviewers have mentioned they only have two people up front. When I was here some complicated person had one of them tied up the entire time and so although the other guy moved pretty quickly, we basically just had 1 person up front. Don't come here if you're in a rush, but I definitely didn't have a bad customer service experience! read more

I have to drop a package that already had a return shipping label. Saturday morning, I went to drop off the package only to learn that this location is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, which happens to be when I, and most of the workers in the country, are at work. (There is a box to drop off quite small packages) Why is the post office losing money? There are many factors, but I'd have to say inconvenient hours and locations is a big part of the problem. Maybe someday they'll privatize it so that competent managers might run it. read more

I went in here to mail a box for my mom which had to go back to Direct TV. I asked for a piece of packing tape to seal the box as neither myself nor my mother have any and I was told that they don't allow for a piece of tape, instead I would have to purchase an entire roll which they sell and which costs over $3 (and by the way is very tiny). I can understand such a rule if I needed to tape up some mammoth item but all I needed was one piece of tape. They absolutely refused. USPS is a major example of a place filled with bureaucracy and red tape, no pun intended. It is clear the USPS doesn't understand the law of abundance which states you must give before you can gain. No wonder they are bleeding business to places like UShip and other services who actually care about the consumer. How unfortunate USPS that your days are waning. I have never been to a post office that was less reliable then this one. I live less then 2 miles away so this is the easiest place to go but after 3 straight packages and envelopes being delivered over 6 weeks after I mailed them I recommend you pass right by this post office and drive to the next one. Or just use UPS or FedEx. And on top of the packages taking so long to be delivered, (1 in Dallas area and other 2 still in TX), When I went in to try and figure the problem out they did nothing but pass the blame on to someone else or flat out blame it on me. Even with a Certified Envelope. Couldn't believe what I was hearing. No Accountability and absolutely no desire to help. Every time I have been in this post office they treat you like you are a problem and they can't believe you would ask them to help with something. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt the first time, and usually even the 2nd time, but after 3 times of the same rude behavior and packages not getting 30 miles down the road for 6 weeks I would have to say there is a lack of care and lack of quality. read more

Of all the post offices I've ever been to, this one is probably one of my two least favorites. I dread every visit here. In fact, I will usually stock up on shipping supplies so I can do all my shipping without going back inside this store. It never fails that I will be treated rudely, as if my using their business is a considerable inconvenience. I plan to start using stamps.com or a similar service to avoid the trip to this USPS location. Until then, I'll drive the extra distance to find another location with more friendly employees. read more

This post office is the nicest one in the area. The two employees are fantastic and have done such a good job during covid. They have had to work through this entire thing and I appreciate them. It's not easy dealing with entitled customers who think because they are a federal employee, they are owed something as a customer. read more

My regular mail carrier is the BEST! HOWEVER, the substitute carrier leaves packages on top of the mailbox or on the ground by the mailbox. My box is on FM546 and anyone could take those packages. I have asked on numerous occasions for packages to be delivered to door, but this falls on deaf ears. This kind of service sucks. read more

This location now gets a "5" from me since they added an automated postal machine in the P.O. Box area, for shipping & stamp purchases - we live a few blocks away, & I LOVE now being able to self-serve vs. waiting in a long, slow counter line. (And I don't know what it is, but the line waiting for the counter in this place ALWAYS seems to move so s-l-o-w-l-y, no matter what time of day it is. One suggestion for management - please tell the well-intended gentleman who usually works the left side of the counter that he DOES NOT need to ask every customer whether they want information on renting a post office box, whether they want to buy any "ready-post shipping supplies," or whether they want to send each package by overnight express vs. the shipping method they originally asked for. While I'm sure he's been encouraged to "up-sell" USPS products while working his counter, his repeated offerings - especially to us "regular customers" when lines are particularly long during busy hours - just slows things way down & makes customers crabby. If someone truly wants information on a P.O. box, for example, I'm sure they won't hesitate to ask for it. :-) read more

Yikes. The employees here are just flat out rude. I brought in a package to ship today and left the other in my truck to go get after dealing with the first one because it was too much for me to carry both. After the way I was treated I ended up leaving with my second package and going to UPS instead because they know how to treat customers. When I walked in with the first box I was immediately given disgusted stares by the woman and man employees. They speak to you like you are garbage. They are judge mental about what you are shipping and act like you are the worst person on earth for walking into their building. They talk down to you like you are stupid. Don't even attempt to smile or show any sort of positive emotion. They speak extremely rude to you and make you feel ashamed for even bothering to get out of the house that day. I will never return. The better shipping prices at USPS isn't worth the way you are treated. After my encounter I took my second package to UPS and was treated with so much kindness. It's a shame because I know so many people that would love to have a job that could take the place of these employees that are quite obviously miserable at their job. I live closer to the post office in Frisco, TX, however due to numerous problems I started going to this post office in McKinney. It is a very small building and easily missed, but the excellent customer service, friendliness, and knowledgeable staff are huge! I mail numerous parcels on a daily basis since I have a jewelry business in addition to being a Realtor, and efficiency and accuracy are very imperative to my continued success with customers. The employees of this location are very fast, so even if there is a bit of a line, the line always moves quickly. It is worth it to me to drive a little bit out of the way to get such great service, and once I started going to this post office, I stopped having lost and/or untrackable packages. read more

There is no automated kiosk at this location. Plenty of PO Boxes, but very little other self service.

Came to ship back an Amazon package with a label. Had box and slip from Amazon. Wanted to charge me 3.50$ to tape a label to my box. For real? UPS please hurry and put these people out of business. read more

Since I moved to Mckinney in July (about 7 months ago) I have noticed that I have been missing several pieces of mail that I was expecting, which contained money and other valuable information. I'm sure most of it was either stolen or placed in the wrong mailbox. The other day I went to check the mail for a birthday card and my mailbox was left WIDE OPEN. I live in an apartment complex where it would be very easy for someone to take a card from and OBVIOUSLY OPEN MAIL BOX. Whoever is assigned to deliver mail clearly does not know what they are doing and can't even put mail in the right slot. This is extremely disappointing and I will be contacting the post office directly. read more

I think the two employees here are pretty rude if you "question" them. We live close to this location and its convenient so I am speaking to multiple bad experiences. They try to up sell you, which it's business I understand. However because I used a little padding in an envelope, they had me send my envelope as a priority parcel - international. What would have cost maybe $4 in postage cost me $13. I should have insisted on not doing it that way so the fault is on me but it was literally just a card in an standard sized envelope with a little extra padding to protect the beautiful birthday card inside. Of course when I questioned the employee, their whole demeanor changed. I had a similar experience around the holidays, I won't recount the whole thing but I am assuming you get the gist. read more

Very poor customer service, they lost my Christmas cards and they were not even returned to the return address on the cards. When I tried to find out if they were somehow on hold or left at the office for some reason, no one would help me figure anything out. I was past from person to person and given phone numbers that didn't work or no longer in service.. and they wonder why they are going out of business.. next year I'll use an online service instead of a true card since They lost all my cards and the money I spent on the photo cards I ordered.
