On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at approximately 2:00 PM, I went to mail three packages at the post office. At that time, the front desk was closed, so I used the self-service kiosk. After the kiosk accepted my payment of $35, the machine jammed and misprinted the first shipping label. An employee was called to assist and reset the machine, which resulted in my entire transaction being erased. I did not receive any usable shipping labels, and my payment was not refunded. As a result, I lost $35 due to a kiosk malfunction and the subsequent reset performed by the employee. I am requesting reimbursement of the $35 charged and guidance on how this issue will be resolved. read more

Living at the same address for last 20 years. In the last 2 years mail service is absolutely the worse i have experienced in 78 years if life. At minimum, monthly i get my neighbors mail or they get my mail. The latest debacle I received what appears is somebody else's passport to an address that is not even on my street, the incompetence of the mail delivery system is ridiculous. Had to file a police report because 1 of my mail pieces was tampered with and opened with the contents taken out - and then my package was never received even though being marked BY THE USPS that it was delivered by them at my door. They never even drove down my street. (No. None of my neighbors have it) so mail is being stolen. They are actively looking into it now because this is an ongoing issue. This organization has one job and can't do it well. For at least the fourth time in the last six to eight requests, my hold mail does not get delivered at the end of the hold mail. I am so sick of all these ignorant people who always leave bad reviews for our post offices. The experience I just had at this main McKinney location is typical of every time I come here. They are always friendly, helpful, and efficient. I arrive today slightly after closing. An associate named MARCO, was watching the door to let patrons out. I needed some materials to be able to send my item at the self-serve kiosk and he gladly got them for me. Then, one of the postal stickers didn't fit quite right and I had to cut a piece off of it and Marco loaned me a cutter to be able to do that. I also regularly go to the post office in Princeton Texas and it's the same there. There are lots of bad reviews that do not correspond with the great service I receive every time I go into that location. I suspect these people leaving bad reviews get bad service everywhere they go because that is what they expect and deserve. One more thing: Our postal system is constantly being underfunded and having budgets cut. Why? Of course, we know, without asking. It's the same reason everything else gets done (or NOT DONE!) in Washington. Because commercial interests bribe (Lobby??) our lawmakers to limit, curtail, and put their competitors out of business! Bad Washington!! If I could give 0 stars, I would. The employees there refuse to help unless you've waited your allotted hour. Even if you are the only person there, god forbid they help you faster than an hour. Every employee I interacted with treated me like I was an idiot for asking for help. I literally had a man working there wait for me to "realize I was an idiot" and then didn't offer any help other than asking for next in line. The main McKinney USPS Office is a CESSPOOL of lost mail and packages. I suggest you sign up for "Informed Delivery" so you'll get emails of what most likely WON'T be coming to your mailbox any time soon, if ever. At least you will get tracking numbers for lost packages. After filing multiple complaints online for a thumb drive of my uncle's funeral that I was supposed to get on Sept. 21st, it finally arrived stuffed into my mailbox on Oct. 3rd, along with a lot of other missing mail. The thumb drive was mailed from a town that is 6 hours away, and it took 2 weeks to get here! Deplorable service. The inmates are running the asylum. read more

Someone bought a diamond painting from me. I took it to McKinney Post office and put the package inside the big blue bin last week. I contacted them and they have no information of the package being scanned. I don't trust them anymore. They better reimburse me for everything (postal shipping label, item, etc). So many lies, we came here on a Tuesday for Walk-Ins because it was permissible on the website. After waiting for an hour we were told there were no walk-ins allowed on days that are not Wednesday or Friday. We were also told we would have a guaranteed spot the next day at 11:30, it is currently the next day and I have been waiting for 2 hours. Area code 75071. Ever since our postal delivery person changed last year, our mail delivery has been inconsistent. Now, we got home after being out of town with our mail held for 2 weeks. We got an email confirming that our mail would be delivered today. We count on this being done correctly and on time, as promised. Nothing was put in our mailbox, nor anywhere else around our property. That's another issue. Our "new" carrier chooses to leave packages outside our garage door, instead of on the front porch like the previous carrier did. This is both inconvenient (we don't always open the garage door daily) and insecure. our front door has a camera that we monitor - the garage area doesn't. This place can get pretty busy on the weekend, but the folks here clearly have a system in place to keep the line flowing. I appreciate the customer service they offer and I especially love that there's an automated machine at this location so you can still mail things after hours. I love the people who work here, since I sell some things online I'm running here all the times to mail packages on Saturday mornings and even when there's a huge line that men and women who work here work quickly and are polite to everyone. I never hear them be snappy or rude (which happens at a lot of USPS locations) and it makes everything flow so smoothly. This location has PO boxes, package pick up, passport photos, and supplies for shipping. It's a one-stop shop, and although it is a little difficult to get to right now due to construction, it's worth it! read more

The WORST post office ever. I constantly get other people's mail in my mailbox-including bank mail and medical lab mail. Such a disservice to people paying for reliable mail delivery. Also have had my mail returned to sender for no reason. Today I got a locker key for someone else's package and gave to make a special trip back there since it won't fit in the drop. Last year I paid for expedited fedex shipping and they did not have the package for me to pick up until 3 days after fedex tracking said it was delivered. They NEVER answer the phone so you have to go there to get any problems resolved. Because of the incredibly poor service here I've gone digital with everything I can, switched to UPS for everything and moving to a private postal box for all else. Most of the desk folks are nice and helpful but the postmaster does such an amazingly poor job that it's not surprising the PO is under fire. Day 2 of a continued review. Case of the missing letter. Second day in a row I went to this post office for them to say the letter wasn't there and that maybe the courier had it. (The clerk was trying to be a smart ass when she asked when it was available for pick up , I said the 17th and she rudely asked what today was like I had done something wrong (I believe their policy is to hold the letter 30 days before sending back to sender). While I'm waiting for them to search for something I knew wasn't there another clerk got into a heated argument with a customer that had proof that they did not ship his items when they said they did (customer was not being rude just stating fact) tracking doesn't lie. Even with the proof the clerk still yells that he works there and knows when things are shipped. Meanwhile, I have to beg the clerk I'm dealing with for a number to call to try to find my missing letter since they couldn't care less... the number they gave is one I called yesterday, 15 minutes before closing. No answer no voice message just continues to ring to nothing... kind of reminds me of the search for this letter I'm missing... funny how they lose my mail and some how I am the one that has to file a claim and become a detective to find it.. To be continued tomorrow and until the letter is found. USPS admin really needs to do something about their policies for items they lose, customer service.... maybe do something about what might be stolen property by the brcourier? Pretend to care just a little instead of acting like it's the customers fault! Day 3 of missing letter search... I'll give them 3 stars today... they still can't find my letter but the clerk today got everyone behind lines to pitch in and search... took responsibility for the missing letter, took my number and promised to get to the bottom of the issue tomorrow. I hate this location. I try to avoid coming to this one if at all possible but this is the only one that's open on Saturdays, close by me. The system of putting everything in the basket to be scanned whenever sucks. My packages show pre-transit for 2-3 days & it's difficult to relay that to customers with no receipt. I asked for a receipt the first time & was told by end employee that the postmaster stated this is how they are to receive packages. No other post office does it this way. read more

Wow! Why is there so much hate for the post office? I've never had a very very bad experience here. Sure they could use more employees, but isn't that true for any post office? Every employee that I have encountered here has been super friendly and super knowledgeable about the products so I honestly cannot complain about any of the services I received at the McKinney post office. Plus they have a self service kiosk that will save you so much time. Overall it's a great post office with a very cool employees. I had issues with my local driver regarding a Certified package. They left one notice advising of the Certified package and then listed it would be at the post office for pick up two days later. No problem until I go to the post office to pick it up two days later showing them the driver advised it would be there for pick up. They try calling the driver to see where it was, he didn't answer. So I leave and go back a week later. I was told they mailed the package back to sender undeliverable. Seriously, why it wasn't that long of a time frame? While I was back at the Post Office, I asked to speak to the Postmaster and was told person was unavailable. I left a hand written note because that was my only option with the antiquated USPS system (should have taken a pic to post as proof) and still no response. This note was left 8-30-19. At this point, I realize there will be no response. I am a reasonable person that believes errors occur but if you aren't willing to hear from your patrons about issues they will NEVER be fixed. read more

We were going out of town in Jan2021 for approx two weeks. I got on line and completed a Hold Mail request. I also received acknowledgment that my Hold Mail request was received and processed. I was going to pick up all my hold mail from the McKinney, TX Main Post office when I returned from our trip. While on our trip we received a text message from one of our neighbors that the Postman was still delivering our mail. I tried to call the Main Office several times, however, they would not answer the phone. I also verified online that our Hold Mail request was recorded. When we returned home from our trip our mail box was jammed with two weeks of mail. Some of my neighbors mail was mixed in with our mail in our mail box. I noticed that the Hold Mail form was also in with our mail. Not Happy with the service, at all. read more
