I live in an apartment building in Medford. we have very small mailboxes inside the foyer, but underneath them there are large bins which are approximately 3 feet wide, 2 feet high and 4-5" deep. Some days I receive an incredible amount of junk mail - magazines and sale flyers. When my small mailbox gets too full, the mail delivery person will damage my mail by crushing pieces of mail-FORCING them into the small box instead of putting it in the {ALWAYS} empty bin below. I can't tell you how many photographs have been ruined buy a carrier who refuses to use the bin below the mailboxes. The overstuffed mailbox is also VERY difficult to open; the MASHED mail often interferes with the inexpensive lock inside. Infuriating. read more

The worst... packages always lost... some days, the mail does not come.

Today I sat home all afternoon and all evening waiting for a package that was "out for delivery." When I checked the tracking number to see why I hadn't gotten the package, it was noted, "delivery attempted" at "6:10"--NO DELIVERY WAS ATTEMPTED. What was there to attempt? The lazy delivery guy just got tired and went home. And I needed the package today. The PO sucks. It's no wonder that UPS is beating them out. read more

The post office in this city is the worst that I have ever seen. The mail gets delivered at different times every day, if AT ALL. This recent letter carrier puts my mail and packages in the wrong box, even though the box has my name written clearly on it. Also when the package has on it, please leave in the door, but he or she doesn't read the packages clearly. I have gone sometimes two or three days without ANY MAIL! And when I pay to have packages delivered quickly, they are always late. And the mail truck is no bargin either, they just throw packages anywhere, I can never count on a package getting here on time even when I pay extra for it. I am going to have to pay extra to have my packages delivered by FedEx or UPS, at least my packages will be here on time. If it is raining which it is today than I will have to say nothing will be delivered at all! What are the letter carriers doing with the mail? Are they sitting in a bar, like Cliff Claven on cheers? Seriously what do I have to do to get my mail or packages delivered? When I lived in West Somerville(most of my life) the mailman came at 10:00 a.m. every day without fail. I just got off the phone with a woman at USPS Medford and she was unbelievably rude. I explained to her that a package had been sent to my old address (I DO have mail forwarding set up), and I needed to find out how to get it picked up from there and sent to my correct address. She snapped at me repeatedly that the package was at the correct address while I calmly told her again that it was at an address I had previously lived at but no longer did. She then announced that I hadn't made the Mail forwarding in time, despite that I had actually set this up 4 months ago and have been receiving other things to my new address. She told me there was nothing else they could do so I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor was able to help me quickly, so I'm not sure why she had so much attitude. A really poor experience due to her rudeness. read more

I just stood in line for 11 minutes waiting to purchase a pack of stamps because there is no vending machine like in other modern post offices. The line didn't move a centimeter during that time. I finally had to give up and leave without my packet of stamps because my lunch break was coming to an end. It puzzles me why Fedex is able to get things moving so quickly at their places while here a snail could have crawled to the help desk from where I was standing faster than I could have reached it in the actual wait line. Judging by this particular location it is no wonder the era of post offices are coming to a close. Painful. I do think the people there are generally nice, but nice doesn't cut it in our time precious society. Never again. read more

Horrible people Horrible place no answers they are trying to cheat my son out of his pay had to go to labor board . They made him use his car to deliver mail and then would not give him the mileage money promised to him (it was my car ) Mary Kate coerced him to resign cause he hurt his knee on the job .She actually wrote the paper for him . They would not give him any information where to complain where the shop steward was ...then they fired him and still have not paid him the law is when you fire someone you pay them you hand them their check. They get away with murder those supervisors are trained to harass! I am so upset they could treat a nice person this way he blew the engine in my car so he asked for a transfer near home .They would not transfer him .They still have not paid the miliage to think we were so happy he would be working for the postal service.they are so horrible i don t know how they sleep at night. Very poor service of the mail trucks. Often, the online status shows as Notice Left, but in actual, the driver has not even left the notice. Several times, it happened that and the driver actually delivers the notice the next day after the date shown in Online status. Why do they think, people are paying for Priority 1-Day?? Why the heck do they change the status in Online, even before actually completing the task??? Once, my lens from Amazon even showed the status as Delivered which got NEVER delivered. The post office then said their driver probably delivered at the wrong house!!! Wouldn't have given a single star, if possible. read more

This is the WORST post office I have ever had the experience of working with. I called them and after waiting on hold for 30 minutes, they told me my package had been waiting in a pile of 30 other pacakges - this was an entire WEEK after they said it would be delivered. Spoke with someone for three days in a row who said it would be delivered that day. On the third day, the man on the phone said he would guarantee a delivery on that day even if he had to personally deliver it. I still have not received said package, which was supposed to arrive two days before valentines day. It has been two weeks since it was shipped and is still waiting in the post office. read more

I noticed 3 weeks ago that my mail delivery slowed down,. Stopped getting weekly food flyers, less and less mail and some mail rolled up and thrown on the porch. And mail that is usually delivered on a specific day each week is now days delayed. Then I saw my new mail carrier. It explained everything. 2 words ..obese and lazy. Not going to bother to complain..on deaf ears. i believe in kama, I'm monitoring the mail, keeping a log. Will see it soon on You tube, local news. payback! read more

Whenever I go to this place everyone is really nice to me and seem to remember me. They truly care about providing me with service. They have big picture mural over the counter. Lines tend to be long usually during rush hour like when people got out of work or on the weekend which not come as a surprise. You are allowed to park in a very big parking lot which a lot of usps locations don't allow you to. This is a great location that I to go to the most. read more

I dealt recently with the Medford, Mass. Post Office and had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE ! They lost a package of mine worth $210. and then when my local Postmaster called them (Medford PO) they stated to my Postmaster they found it and would send it right back to me because 2 months had transpired since it was shipped to them (they are suppose to ship back unclaimed packages after just 1 month not 2 months). After waiting another month and never receiving my package back I had to file an insurance claim (luckily I insured the package !!!). The insurance claim dept. with the USPO sent me payment for the package (I had to wait 3 months since I initially sent this package to the Medford PO to finally receive my claim check). THEN another month goes by and the Medford PO found the package !!! Then they shipped it back to my PO and my PO asked me to pay them back the claim $ they already sent me to get the package back........I told them to go fly a kite since section 609, article 5.7 of the USPS code book clearly states that after a claim has been investigated and a claim has been paid by the USPS that the consumer DOES NOT have to repay back the PO because of the Medford, Mass. Post Office's complete and utter negligence and incompetence. The people working at the Medford, PO lied to my local Postmaster about the package and never returned it UNTIL the USPS Claims Dept. investigated them about the matter of this lost package which they were too lazy to deliver to my customer, too lazy to locate the package and too lazy to return it to me after my Postmaster contacted by phone 2 TIMES (I was present in her office when she personally called them on the phone). read more
