It is faster to go to Woodbury to send my mail than it is to drop it off here by my house or use my mailbox. I'm in some chess matches by postcard and they always get postmarked two or three days after I drop them off, resulting in unsustainable time penalties. Woodbury postmarks the same day. I called and asked this post office what Woodbury is doing differently and she literally pretended I didn't ask the question and said "Can I help you with anything else?" I stopped into the NE Mpls Post Office the other day to discover that there was an employee working at the desk without a mask on. Plastic eye shields DO NOT protect from spreading covid and are not CDC approved in lieu of masks. Not only are they endangering the public, they are also setting a bad example. The excuse that someone may have a medical conditions that prohibits mask wearing is patently untrue. There is no such condition. Not asthma, not COPD, not lung cancer. If a person wants to be out in public they need to wear a mask to protect the public. Period. The only remedy is to stay at home. This kind of misinformation and lack of adhering to CDC Standards is why our country leads the world in per capita sickness and deaths in this covid pandemic. read more

I have been waiting for time sensitive documents for over 2 weeks and still haven't received them. We have not had a mail carrier in our neighborhood for exactly 1 week. After going through the 1-800 # bs and complaints online (I would have called my local office directly but the # is unlisted) and finally received a call back... they said that they were down staff by 25% and that our mail will be delivered soon (no answer given on when that might happen) and when I asked if I can pick up my mail I was told no. This is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! read more

A standard Post Office I suppose but the lines usually move along. They can squeeze three clerks behind the counter where most offices only use two so that helps. Ample parking lot with easy access to drive up boxes. Only flaw was one time last year they opened a half hour late and still weren't ready to go as they said they couldn't log on to the computer system..hmm. read more

The WORST post office location in the Twin Cities! I really like all of the people behind the counter. BUT the carriers suck!!! AND the management & supervisors are useless. Eight years ago my wife and I purchased a small "mixed use" commercial & residential building on Central Avenue NE, two small commercial spaces and two apartments. We used it as our part-time home and for business logistics. This was the beginning of 8 years with the NE Post Office that were so ridiculous, they're akin to a Monte Python skit. Built in 1927, this building had the weird attribute of having four addresses for each of the four tenants and each of the four entrances, two "regular addresses" and two "half" addresses. 1) Shortly after purchasing the building and changing all utilities, the City of Minneapolis and the USPS decided that after 79 years at this building, multiple addresses and half addresses were no longer allowed. No one bothered to call or write to tell us about this. We just stopped getting 3/4 of our mail! Soon, we were getting calls from utilities and bill collectors. What was going on? If took us almost two months to figure it out. 2) To this day, the City of Minneapolis and Hennepin County have failed to follow their own rules and update all of their addresses. So every year or so, we would be sent bills or notices that the post office would never deliver. I was starting to feel like I was living in Mexico City! 3) Receiving mail for other addresses was a common experience, once every two or three months. 4) Having our mail delivered to other customers happened regularly. Complaining to the post office "manager" just seemed to make things worse. 5) A few years ago we were missing a LOT of mail. We had already installed 16 security cameras. After weeks of investigating, we finally found out the carrier wasn't delivering mail if the name wasn't on the box. 6) We put every possible name on our box. But our carrier tore some of the name labels off our box. After complaining (for the millionth time), the "manager" said that she wasn't "allowed" to do this. But we had her on camera doing this. It would be funny if it wasn't so ridiculous and infuriating. 7) We would watch the carrier put "Sorry we missed you!" notices in our mail boxes (on our security cameras) but never attempt to knock on the door and she wouldn't have the package with her. Lazy? Dishonest? 8) Occasionally, the carrier would leave a box sitting at the front door, RIGHT ON Central Avenue! This is begging someone to steal the box. Again, the manager said this wasn't "allowed". (This always seemed to happen with something expensive.) Apparently, if something isn't "allowed" at the post office, they can do it any time they damn well feel like it with no repercussions. 9) After years of the NE Post Office waging a war of incompetence on us, we finally threw in the towel and sold the building a month ago. The final USPS insult was that we got a letter stating that they wouldn't forward our mail because the building is a commercial building. Really? What about the two apartments in this building??? 10) I could make a list that's just as long about NE Post Office problems & screw-ups at a duplex we used to own on Adams St. NE. These guys SUCK!!! Fastest post office in Minneapolis. I'm always in and out within minutes, despite it usually being packed. Their hours are generous, being open till 6 some days. It really gives the working woman a chance at making it to the post office before closing time. I always seem to get their boxes confused though. The flat-rate boxes are in the outer lobby. The other boxes are inside. The employees are really nice though, and look the other way when you make a stupid mistake. Which happens so often for me... read more

This USPS location is a joke. They do not know what they are doing, understaffed, not knowledgeable of anything and aren't helpful at all. If you're looking for a location to ship anything or use the postal service please find another place. read more

Hands down the best post office I've ever been to! Went there today to ship a package that I had been told by UPS would cost $180 to ship. I came in and had picked out a box to ship my items in and when I went up to pay for it the lady working there told me that actually judging by the size of my items that they would probably even fit in a smaller package which would cost me less money. She even helped me put my items in the package so they would fit in and was very patient and pleasant with me. I was able to ship the items for $12. The people working here are incredibly friendly and helpful and I would absolutely recommend going here to mail anything instead of the UPS store read more

I Called and wanted this post office to hold my packages 2 boxes specifically from CT. The guy on the phone at NE said no problem I was going away for 6 days. I warned my neighbor if any boxes come let me know , just for back up purposes... Sure enough there in the back yard was left 2 big boxes for everyone to see... She said it could of been out there from the day before becuz , they were damp.. Thank you Post Office they are Christmas gifts.... next time I'll get his name... read more

This is my go-to post office in the Minneapolis area when I'm northeast of the river. Their line is always long, but moves swiftly. They seem to have a really great crew, because I've never seen a cranky face behind the counter at this post office...unlike others that I've been to in town. I'm a big fan of their large parking lot, drive up mail boxes, and ample counter space inside for last minute packaging needs. They always have a great selection of tape/markers/packaging in stock, so even if you forget something, you're covered. Keith, Mike and the lovely ladies from this Post Office have made my experience with this Post Office excellent. Once they got rid of this Jerk that was behind the counter by the name of Kevin (not the nice one with hair!) everything has been great with no trouble at all. The mail man who comes around my gal's place is very nice, too even though when he is on vacation things go missing at least this one time. I hope it doesn't happen again. Life is great otherwise.
