I was expecting a package to be delivered that required a signature. I was home just for this reason and even though my signature is on file for this purpose too.The driver never did stop at my house, never knocked on door or ring the doorbell. I saw the driver drive by my house twice and did not stop instead they left a slip in my mailbox stating it was the first attempt and to pick up at the post office instead. Also my informed delivery stated that the package was delivered at the mailbox when it was not. So frustrating. read more

Mom went to apply for a passport for her first time (in August) and the passport lady sent the (not accepted) birth certificate with the application in, weeks later the passport processing place let her know that it was not an acceptable form of birth certificate and that she would need to mail out an original. It is now almost October, and we have had to pay $165 for the application, $80 to expedite, $40 worth of expedited mailing documents ($285) total for the passport that should have arrived by now for $165 if applied for properly by this post office. We leave in a little over two weeks, we have no idea if we are going to get it in time. ALL of this was preventable if the lady did the job she IS BEING PAID to do, correctly. I'd be happy to take this down if they do the right thing and make an effort to at least provide a partial reimbursement for the mistakes made on their end. read more

Northbend post office has got to be the worst in the nation. Before they just lost packages. Now they are lying that they delivered a package on the tracking site. yet no package, then days later it shows up. Best part on this on was the darn box was marked fragile in big letters on the box and the damn carrier just threw it on the porch breaking the contents. will contact seller and advise the of the problem. My advise to every American ship with any other carrier. They have been a horrible service for atleast ten years. I recommend looking for another option for shipping, these guys can't read an address to save their lives. I don't know how many times our neighbor's have gotten our mail delivered to there house. I'm not talking about nextdoor neighbor's these are a couple blocks over getting our packages. someone needs to fix this place or hold someone accountable because this isn't a new problem it's on going. Packages are marked delivered and are not at the house. We've had the wrong package locker key placed in our mailbox so we end up with someone else's package we returned it to the post office only to have them ask us to deliver it to the person because the guy didn't want to go back out in the truck. We've also had them say "oh we tried to deliver to the house but no one was home when we rang the bell". Funny our doorbell didn't record anyone ringing the bell. Trying to receive packages that are delivered in Snoqualmie and North Bend is an absolute miserable experience. I believe the North Bend Postal workers are inept. NB is responsible for the delivery in the area. Not only do they deliver mail to the wrong address, but they also regularly mark mail as delivered when it has not been delivered. Then a few days later it shows up on the front porch. After dealing with this multiple times and there being no recourse or way to be made whole, I am beginning to hope that they are defunded, and UPS or FedEx takes over. read more

So disappointed that my son's passport renewal application was rejected today. Not sure if the lady accepting passport applications is up to speed on the rules. She kept insisting on the birth certificate even when my son had his previously issued US passport and driver's license along with photo-copies and I was accompanying him. The travel.gov site does not mandate birth certificates as evidence of US citizenship. Been coming here for years while I had a PO Box. Not bad until I moved into a neighborhood outside of town. There must be some sort of strong union protecting our delivery driver because she is so terrible she even made the news! After installing cameras we would witness her throw our packages on to the porch. She would leave us notes that our mail was undeliverable because the garbage man put our can too close to the mail box. She had the energy to write the note and leave it in our box. Just not the mail. Constantly changing the status of our delivery to 'delivered' so it makes amazon think they are holding up the 2 day delivery promise when the package is really at the post office until the next day. It's a joke. They have bad employees and not enough employees. I only gave the 2nd star because I did have a good experience getting our passport pictures several years ago! read more

I am a junior in high school. I was planning on a trip outside of the country. Also it is good to have support from your parents! Of course I needed to get my passport renewed, so I had my mother make an appointment for a new one. This woman (I forgot her name) she is blonde, curvy, and in her Middle Ages, was so rude. I was putting my earbuds and phone away when she immediately called me out on it. She stated that, "You should turn off your cellphones and don't go on your phone again." Yes, I respect that... although she did hold attitude with it. My mother was holding back her tongue, but the both of us followed directions and followed her to the back room where we were seated. The moment we sat down, she asked for my social security, birth certificate and ID. That day I just got my state ID, as I'm almost eighteen and I said no. She gave us a nasty look, before turning her head back to my mother and again- with attitude. She stated, "She NEEDS a state ID. A high school ID will not work. Do you have a driver's license?" My mother explains that I just got my ID photo taken today and it will take a few days. She scoffed, before she turned back to me. "She is almost an ADULT. She does not need your help to get her passport. So I don't see why she needs you here." Excuse me, but that does not give you the right to look down at me and make me sound as if I am not responsible at all. I am someone who does not take things lightly, but again I did not want to be rude. So instead I stayed silent, as I was offended and felt very disrespected. The woman stared at my social security number, before she placed it back down. She asked me to sign it, so I took the card back and was going to sign it. Then she stopped me and asked, "Do you know how to write in cursive?" I did before, but it has been so long. Then again, I only did it for my first name and I was not confident in it. So I shook my head. Her eyebrows furrowed and she snapped, "Most people YOUR age does not know how to write in cursive. Your application will get denied and it will be returned back at you." I looked away, because I felt so humiliated and annoyed. I did my signature for my card and ID... but why did she ask for my name in cursive. I did the research, and it did not say it had to be in cursive. Then again, not everyone can read cursive. They said, "Print your name clearly." Again with more attitude and with a strict voice the woman stated, "Look at me when I'm talking with you." I looked back at her and replied, "Yes." She went off on me saying things such as, "You have to stop nodding or shaking your head. You need to use your mouth, you are not a child. You do not need your mother to speak for you." My mother was going to ask her if I could just use my signature, but she said no. Again, the woman repeated how my application was going to be denied and it was useless. "But she is leaving this Sunday." My mother said. "Well you flew her down here, for nothing because she could do this back home in California." She does not know my history, for her to say that felt like a slap in the face. I sat there defeated and frustrated. The woman handed my mother and I back our papers. She went on about how unprepared I was. "You need to pick up a writing book at the library and learn how to write cursive." My mother asked if we could continue, because I was leaving soon and the woman said no. She did not want to go further into my application, because I wanted to do my signature the way I always did. So we left, as she wasted our precious time and I looked up signature rules. According to WLTX19, "English says there is no legal requirement that a signature needs to be written in cursive. You can print your name." I even asked third parties, as my friends if they had to write in cursive. They said no, and I was angry. Also most people can not read cursive either. If you are looking to renew your passport, don't talk to this woman (who is the key master of the post office?) for it. She holds great attitude and is very rude. This woman is one of the reasons why expectations on today's youth contribute to stress. No one likes a negative employee and I was disappointed in my appointment today. I recommend going to the Issaquah post office. read more

We got snow that stopped movement in town for 3 days. A week later, the roads are clear and the USPS still isn't delivering. I have never left a Yelp review for anything before. Today was the last straw in the non-delivery service from this post office. I have never experienced the kind and quantity of issues anywhere I have lived like those that happen regularly from the North Bend WA post office. *I receive other peoples mail, they receive mine. My mail is in a CBU, not an individual box. It is a regular occurrence on a weekly basis. *I also regularly don't receive parcels I order. I've called in the past when I get a text stating my parcel was delivered when it wasn't, and have been told that it will be delivered the following day. *I've been left a "sorry we missed you" note in my mailbox (not on either door) to pick up my parcel at the PO the day AFTER they marked it delivered. I work from home, and I am always here when this happens. No knock, no doorbell, no parcel. *This morning I received a delivery confirmation text. When I clicked on the link provided it says "Your package was left near the front door or porch". There is nothing at either door. I walked down and checked my mailbox. Still nothing. This is intentional deception in claiming it was delivered when it absolutely wasn't. I called the post office 10 times and nobody ever answered. *I have on previous occasions expressed these issues to the staff at the counter in the post office, and escalated my concerns to both the local and regional postmasters. Things have only gotten worse across time. There is absolutely no reason for this inadequate service. If this were a free market business with competition they would go out of business. read more

If they don't feel like giving you your mail that day, you don't get your mail. Packages? Ha! Good luck. The North Bend, WA Post Office has some significant problems in both mail delivery to our rural mail box as well as a very defensive attitude when we remind them of the problem. Here is the problem: The carrier(s) often do not close the lid to the box and the mail gets wet, or very wet. How many days do we have rain every year in North Bend? No matter how often I have brought this to their attention there has been absolutely no improvement. A past postmaster told me that I needed to install elevated screening inside of the mailbox --- that would take care of the problem?! Today I was told that due to the carriers' scheduled workload that they do not have the time to secure the lid shut as they go from house to house AND "if the lid did not close tightly they don't have time to go back and close it". I interpret that comment as telling me "Tough Luck!" Again, I have asked for some improvement here over a long period of time but they remain absolutely oblivious to me, their long time customer of this monopoly. read more

I have lived in many places in my lifetime and this is the worst post office I have ever dealt with!! Packages being reported as "attempted delivery" when there was no attempt, claiming "delay due to weather conditions" when the roads are clear and weather conditions are actually great (what they actually are meaning is they will not deliver today), or just failing to deliver the mail all together. It's unfortunate Amazon has a deal through USPS because I decided not to use my Prime shipping this Christmas because of this horrible post office. (Same review for Snoqualmie Post Office as they work together) We've had multiple packages delivered to our house in the past. Recently with the snowfall it is okay they couldn't deliver to the house, that isn't the problem. First we went to Snoqualmie post office to pick up a package they said couldn't be delivered, valid. We get to the post office they say it's in North Bend. Fair enough, it's a small post office. We drive home and call the North Bend office the next day to confirm the package was there. They said yes. We go to the North Bend office and they said it was out for delivery. So we drive BACK to the Snoqualmie office, lo and behold it's there, but you know what they said the issue was? We have a gate. We were home. Just say it was the snow and call it a day. They haven't bothered to deliver any of the other packages we had coming yet, I suppose we'll see if they ever get to it or if they'll make us go on an adventure again because they can't keep track of their packages. read more

I got a notice that a delivery attempt had been made. No- no mail delivered, no package (small items) delivered and I was home the whole time. I check the post office website and it says it is being held a the request of the customer. NO! I did not request it to be held. They simply didn't attempt a delivery and are trying to cover it up. A Christmas gift I ordered was marked delivered to front step. There was nothing on my step. Later that evening, a gentleman from a different neighborhood brought me my package. It had been left at his house. The There was no excuse for the mistake! The street name was different, the house numbers were different and the name was definitely not correct for that delivery! If I could give 0 stars I would. Packages are marked at attempted delivery when no attempt was made. They mark no secure delivery spot avaiIable. I have cameras that would show, and I am at home on a quiet property with small dogs that bark at any noise. Packages are not available until next day for pick-up. So amazon 2 day is really 3 day or 4 day. After trying to resolve the ability to receive the packages on the day they claim to deliver it, they will not hold the package where I can for sure receive it by picking it up at the post office, and they will not come to the house either. Packages are picked up in North Bend and put on a truck to Snoqualmie so they are not available if they are too large for my mailbox. They said to call each time to see if packages are still at North Bend (since the carrier isn't going to try to deliver) and they will try to see if they can get them off the truck that transports the items to the Snoqualmie post office, if the truck is still there. However, if it is on Sunday they always deliver to the door. Use a different carrier if possible and contact Amazon Prime to see if they will use a different one too. Very Frustrating. read more

This post office is absolutely useless - staff are unfriendly and unhelpful, they try to charge you for the most expensive option and not tell you about the cheaper ones. The delivery people don't even attempt to delivery your packages, just leave a notice in the letter box saying they "tried", and that's if they even leave a notice at all. read more

update- I have now paid the post ofc for their bad behavior by getting a PO Box, because they can't seem to deliver correctly & I have a hostile neighbor now that I definitely don't want to get my mail. Thought this might fix the problem. It does not. I have apparently had a pkg get returned to sender by my PO Box. I never saw the pkg. About 2 hours after PO updated to 'being delivered' it abruptly said 'retn to sender'. Maybe my PO box got sassy w/the PO employee? What if that had been medicine I needed? Geez what is wrong w/these people? If the vendor sending me the pkg forgets to add the PO BOX # to my address (I always put both the street address & the PO box because I don't know how it's going to be delivered to me) then the PO sees that the pkg is to be fwded so they send it to Seattle for some unknown idiotic reason, keep it for a few days, then slap my forwarded PO box # on it, send it BACK to North Bend PO & charge me for the privilege of them doing that. I have refused most of those pkgs & had the vendor resend it properly at their expense. They have even done this with pkgs that have had the PO box on it, delaying my pkg by many days, up to a week or so. Then I point out it has the PO Box on the pkg & they can't charge me & they act like 'oh my gosh, that shouldn't be happening' & I say, yet it's happening all the time, along w/delayed pkgs, lost pkgs & apparently retn to sender pkgs I never even got to see. I recently had an issue with a vendor SurePost pkg & will now have to reject pkg, not pay for it, so it gets retnd to vendor (hopefully) & had to re-order for pick up at the store. I am also missing several magazines over the last few months that have not made it to my PO box. Hopefully now that the po BOX address update I did to all my magazines has caught up MAYBE I'll get them all now. With this post ofc, who knows? I have looked at corp info online & have located the name of the district mgr that handles WA state but there is not contact info that I can see, so the only person you can complain to is the mgr of the post ofc who clearly doesn't care. In fact when I got mad about the sending pkgs back & forth to Seattle & then being charged for it, she seemed almost gleeful that I was being forced to pay for this nonsense & said it was 'policy' If there is a computer that tells them there is a forwarding address on the mail/pkgs, why can't the computer also let them know it is a North Bend fwding address, so they don't need to send it to Seattle? I don't even get any priority being a PO box holder that is paying for this!! I pay & still get screwed!! The only answer appears to be, move out of North Bend. read more
