So I go to the post office fairly often and the clerks are all amazing. My mailman is amazing. His name is John. He finds last packages. He brings my stuff to my door. He always has a smile a wave, a kind word. With that being said, the staff is amazing. I did the fall outside in April when I was mailing my taxes and twisted both ankles. I was dazed and I had to be helped up. I had an appointment. I could not miss so I left I was advised to go to the hospital by the people that saw me fall and had to help me out, I waited and waited for my ankle to get better. The right one was much worse than the left so a few weeks later maybe three I went to the post office and asked to speak to the postmaster. Explain what it happened that they declined to go for medical care, but that it was probably on video. I told him when it happened. Almost exactly and showed him what made me trip which was the indentation in the parking lot that should've been pulled in right in the parking area and he said to me "I don't believe you" I was completely offended. I was still limping and I'm not gonna lie. My feelings were hurt. I'm in there all the time. Not really impressed with the postmaster himself, but the staff top notch. read more

So far, so good! All of the staff have been great at the office itself. Some of the patrons, little too chatty for me. State your business, kick rocks. You're not special and YOU'RE HOLDING UP THE LINE! The other people there, have business to conduct and get back to. Relax, clear the line, move on. The community being what it is, I have to say, I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS POST OFFICE! Not all establishments are as courteous. They clearly understand their assignment! I'll edit if needed. But for my limited 2 years of attending, this one gets a 5!!! read more

The Haven Inn MHP, 880 E F St. The new mailcarriers are really messing up our mail delivery. They are just stuffing mail in anyone's box. We are having to deliver it personally to the correct individual. They are stuffing medications, SS checks in the wrong boxes. Please speak to the mailcarriers about this incorrect habit. Unprofessional management and disorganized office. I don't like this post office. The place is a mess and looks like there could easily be rats running around. My mailbox was vandalized and we replaced it. I got a note IN THE MAILBOX saying the box was not accessible from the roadway. How lazy is the mailman or woman? Yet they can deliver this note in the box? What a joke. The new mailbox is in the same spot. I went down to talk to the postmaster and he said he's the one who approves it and basically they were not going to deliver my mail. How is this fair or even legal? I would be completely fine never receiving mail but it's unavoidable that bills get sent by mail. I remember as a kid, I loved getting the mail. Now, this post office and it's management have made a sham and joke of the mail. I could see why the post office is broke or should be privatized. I think our post office is one of the best! I have had a P.O. Box here for over 5 years. I have never had an issue with my mail. The customer service is great. I love our hometown feel, they always remember your name. read more

I have heard of horror stories about post offices in other towns that are completely uninterested in actual public service, but fortunately, that is NOT the case with our little post office in Oakdale. First of all, you are always so pleasantly greeted when you get up to the window (the teller named "Merry" is certainly appropriately named!), and I can't even tell you how many times I have been advised by any of the tellers of an alternate way to save money on whatever service I was getting there--I appreciate that. We are so fortunate to have such a quality post office here, and I think they all deserve five stars. read more

The staff at this location are friendly and courteous. The location is clean and well kept. They just lack the staffing to properly maintain the line. The lines tend to be almost to the door and seemingly unmoving. They usually only have one or two employees helping customers when it seems like they should have all four or five terminals open. It's frustrating when you are standing in line to be helped and can literally see several people running around in the back area but only one working the line. The retail is open Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm And Saturdays 9am-4pm. If you must come here I strongly suggest not coming right when they are opening up. That's when the line tends to be at its most treacherous. If you can wait 30-45 minutes after you will save yourself time. read more

Everyone at this post office is so eager to be helpful, it's nice to know that they are trying to help you find the most economical way to ship items. I don't get the bad reviews.. maybe there was a change in management or something because from my many experiences at this post office, all are good! read more

This place is straight garbage. 2 weeks for mail delivery after getting a PO Box? 10 days to start forwarding mail after its been processed. Wont accept military IDs to get a PO Box. My dad puts outgoing mail in his box, with the flag up and it takes 3 days or more until its picked up. Everyone needs to be reevaluated and all management needs to be FIRED!!!!! read more

2 packages disappear in 1 week. Both supposedly delivered to locked box. Basically told they were delivered. You decide? Will make sure from now on, anyone sending me anything important, is shipped through UPS or FedEx. Accountability there at least? read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Please do yourself a favor and use another mail provider. This post office has the WORST service. I've lived at the same residence for 10 years. They screwed up my initial change of address so many times that I just decided to have my mail sent else where. Every few years I tell someone it should be ok to send a package to my actual residence, and every few years the Oakdale USPS Office manages to lose, or simply not deliver my packages. The projected outlook for the future of the USPS is dire at best, so hopefully this would be one of the first to close!!! read more

Worse service ever! If you are just receiving mail...fine but any packages and forget about it. We are a business that receives Amazon packages almost daily and they can't seem to get it right. Hey either get lost/stolen or the carrier just skips us all together and says we are closed even though we operate 7days a week. I've called Amazon and complained about USPS' lack of service every time. Forget calling this local post office, they will not try to resolve the issue and simply "pass messages" to other people. The worst!!! I had two parcels delivered which were subsequently stolen (found empty parcel under his truck a block away). I reported the incident to the USPS only to be told the parcels wouldn't have been left unless they were put into my mailbox. I told the attendant that the parcels were in envelopes that were too large for my mailbox and must have been left on my porch. He again said they wouldn't have left the parcels in an unsecured location then proceeded to hand me a claim form that he said would ultimately denied. Unbelievable! read more

I have never left a comment on yelp for any business at all until now. The Oakdale post office is the worst one I have ever been in as far as service is concerned. Although I have had less than exemplary service before, and although I have noticed that this post office is one of the few where you are not able to get any services for obtaining a passport, today's experience was beyond ridiculous in the ineptitude and total lack of service provided. After trying to mail a package that needed to go to another country and being told which form I need to fill out I was set aside to do so - then came back and was put behind two other people who came in after me ( which took time ) and then was told that they couldn't help me at all and that I have to come back another time. This was after I was told that the form I filled out was not going to be any good unless it was signed and dated on the date that I mailed it. Which means that I will have to fill the form out again at another post office that can actually mail packages to another country. After previous visits where I have noticed that one man in particular simply seems to LOOK for things that he can put as obstacles in a person's way rather than trying to help find a solution to any problem, I have come to the conclusion that I would rather let someone else go in front of me in line in order to get someone else to help me. But today was even worse in that no one in that office could help even after making me stand in the line - twice with delays - and then , at the end of it all - finding out that they were not going to help me at all today. As has happened before, I am going to have to go to another post office in another town to get service of any kind, much less GOOD service. Shame on them - not for just lack of service - but WORSE- for the lackadaisical attitude of too bad so sad -- sorry we can't do anything for you.
