A month ago, I went to mail 120 letters, all to the same address (to legislators in the state capitol, Sacramento). Since they were all going to the same place, I thought it might be helpful to keep them all together, so I had them in a plastic bag, all tidily packed up. I put it on the counter and explained the situation. The women behind the counter told me they were all going to be dumped into the same big bin, so I should take them out of the bag--I guess she just wanted a big pile on the counter, sliding every which way. It didn't seem useful or efficient. So I asked her if she could just take the bag and empty it into one of the many empty bins right behind her. She said, "We don't take plastic bags." So I said, "No problem; you can give me the bag back." "We can't do that." "Do what?" "Handle plastic bags." "Then please put the bin up here and I will dump them into it." That she managed to do. However, she could tell I was somewhat annoyed, and somehow I had a feeling that something might "go wrong." Therefore, having now discovered that none of my letters (over $100 in copying and mailing expense, and rather timely) ever arrived at their destinations, I have to wonder... But tomorrow I will call the branch to see if I can find out where my letters are. Wish me luck. BTW, the few other times I have gone into this branch, the service was just about the same quality--but the stakes weren't as high. I think once one employee was friendly and helpful. You know something is right when postal employees wear reindeer antlers at Christmas. I absolutely adore this post office and have for years. The lines are often super-short to non-existent and the employees are very friendly and competent. I go out of my way to go to this post office. read more

Great customer service from folks that have been there for a long time that handle a lot of people daily. Easy and convenient near coffee shops, grocery, shopping and freeway. Cool post office. read more

Let's face it--every Post Office could use additional employees...but the Dimond District Post Office has a terrific staff, all with positive attitudes and very helpful dispositions. I never have to stand in line for very long, but if i do, the other people waiting are friendly and pleasant enough to make the Post Office experience a good one. read more

I like the Diamond District post office a lot. These people are real and a part of our community. I have never had a bad experience here and actually I csme here recently for a second opinion when I have received wrong information at other post offices. Cute little post office and there is rarely a line. Nice folks working there and I can even walk there from my house.

We all know that they are short of people. It depends on your luck, sometimes you dont have to wait in a long line. The line moved pretty fast too. You will get your things done here. Staffs are ok here, bit they get their job done pretty quick read more

The people who work here are top notch with a great sense of humor! I really like coming here and will continue to do business here. However with that said, it is the ugliest post office I have ever seen, complete with bullet proof glass and chipped counters. Also there is not a bike rack outside. It could use a little love. I don't understand why other folks call this post office cute. read more

Whenever I have anything to mail off I always come here. Both of the staff members Gloria and Maribel are very nice, friendly and helpful, but I prefer to deal with Gloria. The customer service here is excellent. If you have something that you need to mail off I highly recommend coming to this post office. read more

i have been going to this USPS for many years and like all the people who work there, very polite, helpful, and fast. (well, sometimes the customer is not fast/have lots of questions, but they are fast). I enjoy this post office. (parking in back/that is big plus as well) Wells Fargo across street, Safeway 1/2 block away, so great location. read more

I give this place one star based on its proximity to my home. I went in to this highly disorganized and dirty place Yesterday to mail a pkg to N.Y. I get home this afternoon and it is on my doorstep. The printed 72 in font clearly specifies "To" an address in NY. Today, I spend another 30 minutes bringing it back to these incompetent and very unpleasant counter workers. The worker on the right with the stringy hair and dark rim glsses with the stain on her face was so unbelievably rude and combative. She sarcastically and repeatedly claimed that I addressed it improperly because of the location of the label on the box. Ironically, yesterday, the left cou ter person said it would be perfectly fine and went on to approve the pkg and charge me the $13.80. Not a once today did i get an " oh' sorry for the mis information or the nconvenience' "the machine doesn't actually really use logic to sort mail it only scans letters and numbers and does a general sort" What I did get...you should learn to address a box and you are lucky we are not going to charge you again for making such a big mistake. "I'm letting you go" is what she says. I do have a couple of my own recommendations for these two obviously miserable women that are better left unsaid. I highly recommend to you to travel the extra mile to the High street sta where it isn't so reminiscent of being locked inside the fence with the junkyard dogs of the Fruitvale station. read more

Worst customer service ever! Today an USPS employee, a woman with short blondish hair, middle aged, angry looking refused to tell me where my package was being held. I walked in and asked customers waiting on line if I can ask the clerk a quick question, (as I didn't want to wait for 30 min just to be told NO) which is what would've happened. When I came up to the window to ask if my package was at this location she just barked no at me, and when I asked her where it is, Instead of telling me a 1 word answer- she launched into a snobby reproach of why I didn't wait on line. I told her that I asked the people to skip the line to simply ask if I was in the right place, happily getting on line of I was- but and instead of answering me, she proceeded to hold up the line to tell me I am holding up the line!!!!!!Stupidity at its best! Friends, this is the DIMOND station, not the DIAMOND station. Sadly enough this well located post office with a parking lot behind it has some of the worst customer service for regular users, if not for occasional users. We mail packages daily for my office and about half the time we get one of the two efficient friendly staff. The other half of the time we get two staff who are routinely slow or unfriendly and usually both. Forms are not replaced so we have to ask for them, one staff person regularly finds some problem with what a customer does with mailing packages and does not deal with it helpfully. Certainly the internet has affected declines in use but I wonder if poor customer service also has and affect. Certainly where there are alternatives such as UPS or FedEx for packages, people seem to be voting with their business. read more

I just got an order from a customer at 1 AM who needed his item by Tuesday and said customer was cheap, he didn't want to pay for Overnight. I looked on USPS to find the PO Saturday hours. I saw that the main office was closed, but the two closest offices were incorrectly listed on YELP as closing at 2 AM. I jumped up, precessed the order, got in my car and got to the office at 1:32. Well the Office was closed, but I always got great service. I knocked on the door, heard a friendly voice and ask them if they could take one more package. I was not surprised when the door opened and a friendly smile attached to an outreached hand emerged. I don't understand the negative comments above. I run my business through the USPS because I get what I need to get done with no hassles. Thank you and God Bless! read more
