I placed my package 06/22, Sunday for Monday mailing from San Francisco to Oakland. My package clearly stated " exempt time sensitive" to be delivered. USPS tracking indicated that my package "arrived at post office," in Oakland on 6/24 at 7:24AM. Yesterday evening at 6:29pm, my package arrived back to the Post Office at 1675 7th Street and was set up to be picked up! My package clearly indicated to be delivered not picked up! My package FINALLY arrived today, 6/25 at 4:42AM. Please explain to me who messed this up?!? Again, it was time sensitive! Who's lazy A** messed up?

What can I say? It's a US post office. I used to live here in East Oakland and use this post office often as I like the drive through. I was familiar with this post office and its easy to find. My son had an appt for his passport renewal and we chose this location. Getting inside the building was a different story. The sliding door was stuck so we had to flag someone down to open it for 5 - 10 minutes. There were others that did the same as us and it was funny to see. It's not busy here so we did not take long. Once you have an appt, you should be seen shortly. At least, there was a seat to wait on. The attendant lady for passports was nice and quick. I would actually recommend for the post office passport renewal only but other then that, the staff was too laidback when helping customers. One even went on a break right when a customer was next and only one in line. They could have at least, helped the one customer first. Terrible. [5R, 2023]

If you need livescan done, they don't have these hours on their website. Very limited.

I came to get my livescan done as soon as they opened, just to find out they only had certain hours for it.

Great people working there they are very professional . I love going there very easy very helpful . Best post office in Oakland

Came today in 10/30/2019 at 4:47 pm. They get 1 star cuz they were open and only 2 people were ahead of me and two counter clerks pretending to work. One older Asian clerk at the left side of the counter and a sistah girl on the right. Of course, I get the RUDE azz youngster who knows how to roll her eyes. When I was returning my Amazon package I asked if she had any clear tape, she pointed at the display on the back wall and told me to go over there and purchase it. I was like...REALLY??? The customer service at this location is so very f'ing RACHET. There is a very good reason why this chic is working the post office clocking a C note per day - where else can her RUDE AZZ behavior get her hired? I said to her again, "please get me the tape" cuz I was only going to ask one more time and then wait for the Postal Police to escort me to my vehicle. Guess what? Her trifilent azz went the next desk and handed me some tape that had a half inch of tape left on the roll and told me, "If that's not enough, feel free to purchase more". The additional 2.00 tape wasn't going to break my bank but her attitude was too much for public display. I have her the "I HATE YOUR AZZ RIGHT NOW" look & she told the next customer to come to the counter. The rudeness just overflows! I still same out aight cuz in her moment of being a RUDE AZZ, she forgot to charge me for the $2.00 bubble mailer! Gurl - keep your day job!!!

A parking lot. No line. Helpful employees. My overall experience was great. Finding a post office with parking is rare in Oakland.

He had packages to ship, already paid for I guess, and needed a receipt upon drop off. "No, I don't have time to give you a receipt, just put them there." The gentleman reiterated (a number of times, with confusion) that he really needed a receipt. Same answer, then finally. "Look it's just me here. If you want a receipt, go to a different Post Office." Waved him away, the guy was just totally dismissive. (Never mind the fact that this is one of the only places open after 4, and the other is a twenty minute drive away. I recently moved, and wanted to keep my new address private to the extent possible…read more Prior to officially updating my address with the United States Postal Service, I checked their policy on their website regarding the sharing of address information. From the USPS site: 'We do not sell customer or mailing lists to outside parties, including marketers. We protect your information under the Privacy Act. We only share your information in the following limited situations: to a congressional office on your behalf; to financial entities regarding financial transaction issues; to a USPS auditor; to entities, including law enforcement, as required by law or in legal proceedings; to customs agencies relating to outgoing international mail; to contractors and other entities to fulfill your product or service; or with your consent.' I came to find out too late that these assurances are completely false and misleading. Immediately after my change of address was processed, I started getting flooded with various solicitation mailers at my new address. I then found out through further research that when you change your address with USPS, they sell your new address to literally hundreds of entities. Please read the July 2013 Forbes article titled 'How The Post Office Sells Your Address Update To Anyone Who Pays (And The Little-Known Loophole To Opt Out)' for a more complete picture of the disturbing reality of the situation. From the referenced article: 'The Postal Service set up its current National Change of Address program, sometimes abbreviated as NCOA, in 1986. Until 2002, the USPS licensed to just 22 companies. After complaints about privacy violations, they reformatted the data to assure only those with the former address could obtain the new information, according to spokesman Roy Betts. That change allowed the postal service to distribute the address changes more widely. Today they license to about 500 companies.' 'USPS justifies the program on the grounds that they don't 'sell' the list but license its use. That is a subterfuge. Supposedly, you only get a new address if you have the old address already. Because data brokers have every household in America in their files, the information goes from NCOA to the data brokers, who flag every change and resell lists of new movers to anyone.' Disgraceful. This is a federal agency funded by citizens' tax dollars, and this is the amount of reverence they treat our most sacred personal information with. Whenever I move in the future, I will never again submit a change of address to USPS. The better course of action is to update your address only with essential organizations you personally do business with, and use a PO Box for a mailing address wherever possible. Live and learn, but we shouldn't have to utilize such work-arounds to gain a basic modicum of privacy. And for the record, I am well aware there is virtually no data privacy anymore, but the government should certainly not be perpetuating the problem - and getting paid for it. There are people, including domestic violence survivors, for whom the consequences can be absolutely dire if their residential information is not kept private. I looked into this further as well, and supposedly there is a program through the state you can apply to in order to keep your address private, but even if you're 'approved', there are no teeth in the rules, and private businesses are not required to honor the request. This must change. Please contact the USPS and your congresspersons directly to voice your concerns about this. privacy@usps.com Or: PRIVACY OFFICE US POSTAL SERVICE 475 L'ENFANT PLZ SW RM 9431 WASHINGTON DC 20260-1101
