I had a great experience here! The attendant was very friendly and weighed my envelope to let me know the exact amount needed for postage. We came back a few days later to mail out my wedding invitations and the same employee let us hand cancel the invites to ensure they are safely shipped and not sorted through the machine. Would like to see it relocate beside Weiss market since Rite Aid is gone.Also current location is several trailers put together that are falling apart, landscaping is horrible the bushes obscure the name on the building, the lighting is not properly illuminating the site correctly. This is a lovely town and the building doesn't reflect the area at all doesn't even come close. Should be torn down or relocated. read more

When I moved here, I introduced myself to the folks at the post office because I buy and resell a lot of stuff. I was genuinely surprised and taken aback by how unfriendly Joni C was. I walked out feeling so sad and wondering if I said anything to upset her. Nothing has changed - she's been consistently rude and aloof to me for over a year now. I went to retrieve a package today and Joni couldn't have been ruder, more condescending, or less helpful if she tried. She refused to help me find the package and then dismissed me for the next customer. Another usps employee offered to help me and the entire time while the other USPS person was helping me, Joni was snickering, talking about me under her breath, and laughing, until I finally asked her why she was acting like this. She's sweet as pie to a certain class of people and toxic towards others. I've only ever been polite, so I'm thinking it's because I'm a minority here. I asked to speak with the manager and was told that he was off for a family related matter. I guess that's why she was so rude and unprofessional. I suppose I have to go to Bethany's post office from now on. read more

Unreliable for packages. They will not deliver packages to addresses that require the postal worker to exit their vehicle marking those packages as "undeliverable as addressed" and returned to sender. Unfortunately Amazon has started handing off packages to the USPS at 19930 resulting in non deliveries. Use UPS or Fedex. USPS complaint line is 800-275-8777. read more

The lady who delivers to Bethany Bay is extremely rude and unpleasant. She seems annoyed at doing simple things that her job requires.

I've never had any issues at this post office. Some of the employees are more friendly and others are more no-nonsense, but all I've interacted with have been knowledgeable about the services and pricing. The inside is very small so if you're they're around lunchtime or toward the end of the day the line stretches around back to the PO boxes, but the employees keep it moving pretty well. I'm here often for a variety of mailing situations and they always help me with what I need. read more

I have my right arm in a sling from shoulder surgery. The attendants were rude and not at all helpful with my 3 packages. One was mistakenly UPS. I was told "this isn't us" and tossed back to me. I am sure what the problem of the previous Yelper is other than perhaps a persecution complex. Sometimes slights are simply imagined or anticipated. I have never seen staff at this post office treat anyone with disdain. They may be rushed and hurried at times; it can be a very busy place. So they may not want to engage in chit-chat if it is crowded, but they are efficient and helpful. read more

I can forgive being incompetent or rude. Unfortunately, the Ocean View DE Post Office staff is both. I've had multiple run ins here. Mail not delivered, lost packages (with tracking saying it's there), and incredibly mean people. But the latest incident pushed me to write this. We live in Maryland and have a vacation home in Bethany. We accidentally had an important package delivered to our vacation home for Christmas. I called in advance to make sure it was there. After confirmation, I took off the next day (Friday) to drive the 2.5 hrs to pick it up. I arrive and no package. The Post Office attendant said, "Nothing's here." I asked inquisitively again, explained my situation, and without re-checking, the lady said, "It's NOT HERE. Don't like it? Use UPS next time." So I sat in my car and cried. And drove 2.5 hours home. Merry Christmas. Who knows where this package is. The seller doesn't know where it is, I have record of it being "held for delivery" at the office. And the post office either doesn't have it or won't give it to me. read more

I have been here 3 times this season to find out why after 10 years they are not delivering my packages. The entire group here is clueless. The nasty man gave me a bunch of useless lip service when I asked why after 10 years are you suddenly not deliverng pkg to me. He made me fill out paperwork to restore service which I did. Two weeks later still no delivery to home. New person again wants me to fill out paper work for delivery. Note to lady... been there done that so whats the problem. Her moran solution.... well you can pick it up here. WTH . Fix the problem. Man clerk was the most rude and unhelpful person there. His answer "we are a rural post office" . This is probably the worst customer service place. They are racist and ignorant. When I was there to send a package, one of the employee clearly ignored me and complaining to the other employee about her schedule. And when she noticed me, she started giving me attitude. I mean, if she was a rude person, I wouldn't care, but I can't tolerate someone that speaks to you differently because of your race or color. She is a federal employee and she must not treat people differently! read more
