he Placerville Post Office can not deliver packages. They are lazy and put on a slip nobody home or no sucure location when I am home. The drive way is about 250 feet long and paved nicely. I would give them a F grade. read more

I have had multiple packages lost by this post office. When they manage to deliver them they leave them on the road where they can easily be stolen. I never go to this post off due to the rude "customer service". I mail everything at the UPS store where they treat the customers like customers. read more

Yes, this post office has had grumpy employees and long lines...I was in to get my passport and dealt with Mike. One of the most pleasant people I have dealt with in a long time. Appointment started on time if not a minute or two early. Was done in great time. I almost went somewhere else to get my passport due to previous reviews I saw on line and am glad I didn't. read more

I complained about my rude carrier for telling me to get a larger mailbox so he doesn't have to drive up my driveway, then he tells me my delivery for the packages was getting too frequent. Then he decides to not leave my mail at the doorstep because I complained. Talked to the delivery manager hoping to get clarity and he says its due to the reason that the carrier cant back up on my property, however my neighbor with more unsafe conditions still gets his mail and the carrier back up on his property. So now I have to go pick up amazon packages. I have ample safe space and the manager wont do nothing and let his carrier treat me differently from the other neighbors. Always a long line and not the best customer service. Constantly getting wrong mail and my mail being delivered to wrong address at my mail box at home. Was told it had been broken into when I first moved in so I got a po box for important documents. I have a P.O. box here and the same happens. Most days I'll have several different names and a couple wrong box numbers and no matter how many times I write wrong address they continue to. What's even worse is this is the only post office that I've been to that closes po box doors when the post office closes at 5 or 1. It makes it very hard for someone to get to their po box because it's inaccessible after normal business hours. read more

I live in the Greenstone area in Placervile, CA. There has been 4 packages NOT delivered to me in the last month because the carrier says there is no place to leave the packages which is bs. I continuously get other peoples mail and have had numerous incidences where my neighbors have gotten my mail! I scheduled an appt for a passport for my daughter, at 10am. I showed up at 10am. Not 10:05, not 10:10, but at the latest, maybe 10:01. There was a family ahead of us that was being taken care of until 10:25. As soon as he finishes with them, the postmaster walks away and we approach the desk. We have been waiting, patiently, for 25 minutes. As he comes back to the counter, we inform him that we had a 10 am appt. He proceeds to explain to us, in the most patronizing, rude way possible, that we were required to be there 10 minutes early, and that he called us 3 times, then called my phone from a restricted number. I inform him that I don't answer restricted calls, and that we were parking, but came in by 10am, our scheduled appt time. He cuts us both off, as my husband started to say something, and repeats that he called us 10 minutes early and since we weren't there, we missed our appt and need to reschedule. Once again, he is talking to us like we are the worst type of people, not only patronizing, but being downright rude and belittling. I left there, embarrassed and humiliated, not only in front of other customers, but also my children. I am also writing a letter to the Customer Advocate about this horrible and embarrassing experience. read more

CLOSED. I find myself completely confounded by the hours of business for this office. They open the doors when the average - employed - person is at work, and they close the doors when the average - employed - person is clocking out for the day. Saturday hours? Well, if they feel up to it, I guess. I made the completely naive mistake of thinking the retail hours would support the holidays by being open on Christmas Eve. That was dumb. So I waited until the Saturday following Christmas. In spite of the posted 10 am to 1 pm hours, nope, stupid me! Closed! A retired Soldier, I've worked a holiday or 20 in Federal employ. I have no sympathy. Two things I've learned. One. Always pay for FedEx or UPS shipping on packages. They will bring it to your door. The USPS leaves a card that, in essence, says "we have your package hostage and good luck finding an open door to take delivery". Two. Until this moment I was an ardent supporter of keeping the US Postal Service alive and funded. I no longer hold this position. Worst, and least serving, arm of the service sector. Go away USPS. I moved here recently and we have a shared cluster mailbox. The person we bought our house from does not have the keys to the box. The post office said it would take 10 days to key the box (it has been 3 weeks today). I went in to pick up my mail and was told it could take up to 3 more months. They would not let me speak with the manager. There is "no" way to escalate this issue. So I have to drive into town/go during short lunches/take time off from my job to pick up my mail. When I asked if it could be placed in one of the boxes in the vestibule, I was told I would have to pay and switch to a po box. They will not deliver to the house because it is a half mile away. The staff is really nice and mostly helpful and I hate leaving negative reviews. Today I will call corporate and hope this will be resolved soon. It is not the customer's fault the truck that is needed to fix the box is "somewhere else." I hope Placerville gets it together soon. read more

Since we moved to our new home in Placerville, we have had nothing but problems with the mail carrier. There are ONLY 4 houses on our court and we ALWAYS get others mail. I've left notes in the box, reported it twice on the website and no change. NOW, the carrier walks up to our gate and THROWS the packages over. I've had to replace two boxes from Amazon because of this. Then, same day, he leaves my second package at another persons gate, sitting in the rain for 2 days (they didn't know it was out there). The old mean red headed woman behind the counter is horrible. I called the post office because they had a package for me and got her on the phone she basically hung up on me while I was talking so I drove down to get my package. She was working the counter and was just short and rude with the way she treats people even in person. She never smiles and she just wants to be anyplace but at her job, she wants you to just go away it is so obvious she hates life it shows in her face and in her tone. Consistently poor service. We live on a private road with 13 houses and always get others mail. Lack of attention to detail is the theme with this post office. I'm waiting for critical mail including a passport, handicap placard and investment information. Again today, I received my neighbors mail. I recently moved here and my mail box is not a secure place for my packages to be left. At first I had to come here to pick them up every time I came I always had the "luck" of being "serviced" by Lark. She is in my opinion the worst employee there. Everyone else who works there is very kind, one woman even rushed out once to take a package I was delivering because they were already closed. David is also one of my favorite employees, he's very informative and kind. Lark would give me the worst attitude and she would get mad at me for picking up my packages!!!! She'd roll her eyes at me because she had to walk a few feet to hand me my packages. I got so tired of dealing with her RUDE attitude I arranged for the post service to just lock my door after dropping off my packages. I still see lark when I drop off my packages or have any business there, I wait for someone else to assist me. This past week I think she was on vacation and it was the happiest I've ever seen the post office. I don't know if she's been there for too long or what, but I DESPISE when employees take out their own issues on customers WHOS TAXES PAY HER WAGES! Anyway. This is the absolute worst post office I have ever had to work with. The Post Master for this office is Paulette Mahoney who is absolutely and totally useless. I have been at my house for well over 10 years now and have only had two regular delivery drivers. For 9 of those years my service was absolutely perfect with no issues what so ever. Our new carrier, Brandon is pleasant when approached however is the worst of the worst carriers I have ever had. We have mail constantly miss delivered, days where it is clearly obvious that no mail service was done at all, especially when you flag your mailbox with outgoing mail that isn't picked up on a regular delivery day. He's also a blatant liar as when he was approached about not delivering parcels we receive on a regular basis, requires no signature and will not fit into the mailbox itself. He claims that he will not deliver parcels that will not fit because my driveway was blocked two times. FedEx, DHL, UPS all delivers right to my door. If I'm not in, which is rare as I have an on-line business which requires me to also have packages picked up have NEVER had any problem with my driveway. I'm so sorry if I had company that didn't park appropriate for the USPS to REFUSE to deliver parcels that can be left on my porch. I'm so sorry that you had to put your truck in reverse and back down a straight line to the road. Even more insulting Paulette found his excuse as an acceptable reason to leave a tag in my box. Need me to sign for the parcel, honk your horn and I am 10 seconds from the doorway. He's a absolutely the laziest carrier and the biggest liar I have ever dealt with along with the postmaster for the office Paulette Mahoney being totally and absolutely useless to resolve the issue of the service or lack there of. I firmly believe that this carrier may even be prone to mail theft since he doesn't deliver mail at all on normal service days. It's a serious allegation to make but I have had to have time sensitive materials for my business resent as I never receive the materials. I believe that he may just toss mail away so his truck is empty when he returns to the office. I have never been so angry and so disgusted by the service this office lacks in properly doing their jobs. I intend to file a formal complain along with the 26 other residents on his route to the main postal facility and the Postmaster General. Last time I checked a carriers job is to deliver mail and parcels. Refusing to deliver parcels based on false information that can be easily seen to be a lie by a simple check on any map service that clearly shows my driveway is more than large enough for a tiny piss ant postal truck to fit through, it's just disgusting when just a few weeks ago I had a 28 foot tractor trailer back up my driveway to deliver large shipments that are on standard wooden pallets yet my post office REFUSES to DELIVERY based on absolute total lies. Disgusted and useless to resolve anything with this office. Paulette is useless and is the perfect epitome of the federal employee who could care less and is just biding her time to get her retirement check. Perhaps you should just quit now, take Brandon with you and your other cronies you clearly show favoritism with and the other employees who actually care are punished with your refusal of time off being denied and so on. Paulette needs to understand that Placerville is vast but we locals are all knowledgeable and speak about businesses and such. Your office and you yourself is well known about how you operate, your favoritism and lack of doing what your paid to do. You should be careful as we all are sick of the shitty service and perhaps you should consider that one of your customers such as myself know how the interior working of the office is supposed to be handled since I personally handled mail service for several years and can prove so with a letter of the world wide president of cargo for United Airlines, Your excuses are like assholes, we all have them but some are bigger than others, your office and you personally are the winners of the award of asshole excuses. I started a small business and was shipping tons of stuff a day. I did stamps.com so as to not bombard the clerks with postage. The first time i went in i was unsure if i had done the postage correctly, the lady with the red hair told me that she was going to take the person behind me in line first due to me having so many packages (I had already waited 15 mins in line), second time i went in with my items and she says, next time could you please choose a different post office as that is a lot of stuff for us to have to scan. On that trip they also scanned a package that was going from Placerville and going to Elk Grove, they sent it to Hawaii and then refused to help me locate it and why it had ended up there. Third time- waited 10 mins for the lady to come out from the back and acknowledged me, it was the red head again- she was not pleased to see me. I told her i just needed a little priority mail tape so that i could put it on a prepaid package- she looks down at her desk, sees that she has tape- grabs it and puts it back down, goes to the next desk and says here you can use this one i dont want you using mine. She is rude, and disrespectful. Shingle Springs post office will be my normal now. I will be sure that i go to the highest level to get this lady reprimanded for her behavior- ive have been waiting for 2 mths for the post master from there to contact me back about my original problem. read more

I ordered a mail box key a few weeks back, they said that it would ready in a few weeks. I come in at the time they said it would be ready, I step up to the counter. I tell the lady that I am here to check to see if they had my key ready. Mind you I haven't told them my name, or my address. The lady tells me that my key isn't ready... I look at here a little sideways, and and ask her how does she know if it is ready or not if you don't even know who I am??? lol This apparently was the wrong thing to say, and she gets pissed, and actually storms away from the counter, yes she did. Another lady (apparently the backup 'b-word') takes her place and then asks me in a very sharp tone, 'what do YOU want?' I tell her I was just asking the other lady if my key was ready, and she says "well why didn't you just ask us that?" I'm kind of lost for words at this point, and I tell here "that's what I am here to do??".. We have a silent moment together, and she asks for my name and address, walks back and gets my key, and I promptly leave. These people fail at life, I don't know how else to put it... read more

Recently went into the Placerville post office and saw my favorite postal clerk, Nate sorting packages. He always did a great job in the front. I had been avoiding going in due to the unfriendly and seemingly unhappy clerk there. Thankfully last few trips in they have 2 great guys, David and young guy, out front. My interactions have improved tenfold. They seem to actually enjoy their jobs and customer interaction. Thanks to whoever realized pleasant people helping you makes for happy customers.
