Plastic liners separate customers from employees.

I get it, and I also don't get all the negative reviews for the post office. This is a governmental agency, you're supposed to expect delays and slowness in service. On top of that they've been having budget cuts for years so if you don't live under a rock, you would know this is a common occurrence. That said, I've never had bad service from the employees and this location. Yes, The lines go slow but they're really good at keeping it moving even during the busiest times. Because of COVID-19 they have added screens in between customers and employees. This is a good move because t

Long story short, I drive 20 - 30 min to avoid an employee at this store. I came to this location to send some books to an online book seller. The instructions said that I should not need to print the label or pay for the box and related shipping. I am the first to say I do not know how shipping/this process works so I grabbed a USPS box and waited for about 20 min in line to get to a full service counter and ask how I should complete the process. I was cut off before finishing my question, and told that everything I needed including tape were on the USPS box. I was also told I was "expecting to much" when I tried to ask how to tape/appropriately pack the box. I went to the back of the line and tried my best to tape it. I then waited for another 20 min, and unfortunately, came to the same guys counter. This is where he proceeded to tell me how counter-intuitively I taped the box (he was right, but this is also why I tried to get guidance BEFORE taping the box) and that I needed to go and do it over again... a second time, still without any guidance & pay for more tape or both boxes. When I was exasperated and told him this is why I waited to go through the line the first time, for guidance from an all service counter, he again said I was asking too much and how he had never seen someone tape a box so poorly. I expressed my frustration and said ok, thanks, to leave, HE KEPT YELLING ABOUT HOW BAD I AM AT TAPING A BOX. I asked him to stop chastising me and he continued to, until I exited the building. Usually the staff here are super helpful, even if we need to repeat things for clarity, or patiently work through the process, but never have I been insulted for not knowing how to ship a box, nor being told I expected too much when I went to ship said box. That day, I ended up not shipping anything, unpacking the box and leaving. It took 2 weeks for me to try again and I drove to 2 locations, each 20-30 min away to avoid this location. I also bought my own box elsewhere and printed the QR label separately to avoid this experience. If I can avoid it, I'll never come here again.

    Sesame Street Stamps !

lately I've had a couple decent experiences here. It is the closest P.O. to my home, so it's a nice walk and if there is a long line, or I simply don't want to wait I turn around and leave. Today, I planned on just mailing bills, then thought I'd look inside, always can use some stamps. Not a customer inside - the main counter. So I approached, joked with the teller there was no line and I selected some new stamps. Awwww! Fun to pick and choose, I went with the Sesame Street edition. I'll be hard pressed to use these up - anyway, no frills. I haven't really had complicated transactions here. Once I tried entering a bit earlier than they opened and clerk firmly said they weren't open yet. Opening hours are a bit weird. Like 8:30 instead of 8??

$200 USPS money order they can't cash because they don't have the money. So their policy is tell you "come back around the first of the month we can do it then." That was as useful of advice as farting to keep dry in a hurricane. Btw don't ask for the manager because they will tell you about how to open a bank account and it is not really their job to deal with money. That is other than the logo of the money order is the same as their name tag...

    Plenty of mailing supplies.

Always courteous. Sometimes the line is long but it depends on the time of day. I appreciate our postal workers!

Worst post office ever...again. One kiosk to mail a package and it doesn't work. So frustrating.

It's right up there with going to the DMV or for some people, even the dentist. However, I don't think it's fair to give this location a one or two star rating simply because going to the post office is generally a pretty miserable experience for everyone no matter which way you slice it. That being said, as far as post offices go, I feel like this is one of the better locations. I've never had a bad experience that related to any of the people who work here. If anything, it's only been because of having to wait for a while due to there being more people needing assistance than there were employees available to help. But that's just the nature of the beast. So if you have to stop by a USPS location anytime soon, I just want to say a) I'm sorry for your loss, and b) go here instead. It will make the pain a little more bearable, I promise. PS - A special shout out to Dawn at the front counter who helped me with shipping my packages today and made the entire process quick and painless. Thanks, Dawn! :)

I asked them if they charged the same rates as DHL. They said their rates were in the same range as DHL, and they gave me a twenty dollar discount to sweeten the deal. In the end, after the twenty dollar discount, I was charged $163.41 to send the package to Indonesia. Out of curiosity, I decided to go directly through DHL the next time. On 7 April 2025 (exactly two months later) I went to an actual DHL outlet on Scholls Ferry Road and asked them to send a package with the same contents, the same weight (0.55 pounds) to the same street in Indonesia. DHL charged me only $74.52. In other words, sending a DHL package through the Monroe Parkway branch of Postal Annex cost me more than twice as much as sending precisely the same package (same contents, same weight, same destination) through DHL itself. I hope others will learn from my experience and not allow themselves to be overcharged by this branch of Postal Annex. I verify that the statement above is true and correct and have retained receipts as evidence.
