Why are the people at the counter so miserable here. There is only one lady at the counter that is always so nice and pleasant. The other two are just rude, annoyed and don't care that you know it. I don't use USPS often. That's deliberate as rates are crazy and service is terrible. And then you get snickered at, talked down to and just feel like you're spending money to get yelled at. The managers need to look at services training here and if one of the ladies is the supervisor, she needs to be retrained. read more

I agree with most other yelpers unfortunately. The employees at this branch are pretty rude. I haven't had too many issues personally, but I've witnessed them being obnoxiously rude to customers for no reason. During the height of covid, I guess they didn't have much coverage and the lines were literally out the door and around the corner. I waited patiently in line and luckily, I was one of the few people who was inside the office, when without warning, they told everyone behind me that they were closing the office for an hour for lunch. No warning, no signs posted. An employee came outside and screamed at everyone to leave. Needed to mail a Christmas gift to a friend, and while I could have used the mail room at work, this includes a cluster of bureaucracy, and involves at least two different departments. I looked up beforehand that this post office was a half mile away from work, and headed here in an attempt to save some paperwork. The facility itself is surprisingly small, with little place to wait. When I went during the lunch hour, there was a line almost out the door! I'm not complaining though, since most people work during business hours, and North Quincy not being very populated, this is fully understandable. Appearance-wise it is rather utilitarian, not as grand as I've seen some others. Still, it is not unclean by any means. The service here was very nice and polite. I especially like that if you need to fill out a form (or an address), they let you step outside of line momentarily. Not sure who the lady thinks she is but she is rude and honestly just because you have a bad day or something doesn't mean you ruin other people's day. I was just simply dropping off a package but the lady insist that it has to be in a "sealed envelope" when it was enclosed already. I had no problem dropping off the same package at other USPS locations in the same packaging but this lady seemed to have a problem with just scanning the barcode and taking the package. Her tone is also just very condescending and has an attitude altogether. If you can't provide decent service to customers, then don't be in the service industry lol. read more

This is a tucked away postal service right near Bank of America and a bunch of restaurants on Hancock Street. It's conveniently located and even has Saturday hours (9am - 12pm). I went inside, not having a clue how to return my shoe inserts I got on Amazon. The guy showed me the shipping labels and helped me weight/send the package. If I knew the answer I wouldn't be asking them. The man that works there has no clues when asking questions. The blonde woman that works there is rude and condescending. I frequent this branch in North Quincy about once a year if I have something to post while I am at work. Else the one in Quincy Center is closer to home. One of the tiniest post offices in the area, it is surprisingly always busy. I have never had a problem with the staff here unlike some other reviews but I know the staff members being described. I guess I will make sure I don't attract drama unless drama is plastered all over the place to begin with. Anyways. Despite being always so busy, this post office has a quick moving line. With only 2 staff members standing side by side at a time within a couple of feet of each other (that's how tiny the only counter is), I have never spent more than 5 to 10 minutes tops even if I have to mail a registered / express / first class mail which involves getting the appropriate envelope, writing address, paying and handing over the package etc. The biggest positive for this place is that it has it's own private parking lot which has about 10 spots. Anyone who knows Hancock St in Quincy knows how tough it is to park on street there. So having this option is like a gift. So I have to give 4 stars because of this must have option. Just park your car, get what you want from the PO and off you go. Happy! read more

So I feel silly even writing a review about a post office, but the woman I encountered who works here yesterday was such an awful miserable cuss of a wretch that I felt the need to share. I went in to drop off an box to be mailed. It was a return I was sending from something I had ordered online, and already had the label on it. I walked in and immediately the woman rolled her eyes and impatiently waved me over (she was lounging around with her coworker so I can only assume she was mad that my entrance meant she had to get her off her lazy a** and work). She offered no words after she called me over, she just stared at me. So I cheerily said "I just need to send this, but would you be able to help me close it?" She looks at me and snaps (I'm not joking, SNAPS) back at me "WHAT?" So I repeated that I needed tape and asked if she had any I could use to close the box. She goes "Yeah, do you have tape of your own?!" I go "No, that's why I am asking you.... if it's that big of a deal, I can take my box to a different post office." After staring right through me for what felt like a very long (awkward) amount of time, she saunters away, takes her sweet a** time and brings back a jammed tape gun, and goes "Here, do it yourself." and proceeded to slam it on the counter. So I did tape the box up, with a bit of a struggle (most likely enjoying every second of this.) And then she weighed my box and I left. Is there some kind of rule that if you work in a post office you have to be a miserable jerk? This woman had an attitude problem from the moment I walked in, before I even opened my mouth. I try to be understanding and think about how I don't know what is going on in other people's lives so I don't pass judgement when they're rude. However, in this case, I think this woman needs to figure it out or get a different job, she seems like an awful human being. read more

I've had my fair share of post office experiences, with the worst post office customer service/efficiency in Jacksonville, FL. This Quincy location is one of the best - I've used them for years a couple times a year and it's usually a positive experience. The staff members are nice and if you get up to the counter realizing you have the wrong envelope/box, they'll have you step aside to fill out the correct mailer and get you right back in line without having to wait in line a second time. They have more stamp options here than most places. Best part - THEY STILL HAVE HARRY POTTER STAMPS. Can I get a hallelujah?! I know you other HP nerds are rejoicing right now. Another pro: pedestrian AND driver friendly. Located just a short walk from the North Quincy station on a very busy main street. There's private parking too! If the lot is full, just park on Hayward street - it's free and residents are usually gone during the day! Great place for your postage needs. read more

I arrived at this post office at 4:31pm and was standing in a line outside waiting to be allowed in until 4:47pm, when they locked the doors on everyone waiting in line outside. The hours of this office are until 5pm on Mondays. It is unacceptable to lock the doors on customers, who have been waiting patiently outside in the cold, well before closing time. I am highly disappointed that a government funded organization feels it can close its doors whenever the employees feel like it. read more

I went to this post office last week and experience not a really nice attitude from a post office employee. i do not want to describe her appearance, but one thing about her is that she speaks and behaves kind of rude. that day i was wearing a t-shirt with a printed skull on it, so when she saw me , she made that face like if she were disgusted by it, i do not think it is proper for the employee to make faces in front of your customers, it made me feel first embarrassed and after really sad that people can be so rude and not respective. Went to the post office in North Quincy on hancock st today and experienced the worst attitude from a post office clerk ever! This woman is probably around 50, short, medium build, short blond hair with bangs, and sort of looks and sounds like a dude. She has the nastiest attitude. I went there to return an unopened package and to pick up 2 packages. She asked if I had opened the package to be returned, I said no. She didn't believe me and asked me again, I said "no I did not.". A minute later she asked me the third time! WTF?! why did you keep accusing me? Can't you check the box yourself? I asked if I'd get a tracking # for the package, she said no, and quickly walked away, as if she didn't want me to ask more questions. She returned with my 2 packages and asked for my ID. I showed her my work ID and she yelled "no, I need an ID with your address", so I showed her my license. She looked at my ID, handed me 1 package and quickly took the other one away, saying in a cold tone "this is not you!" Did not give me any explanation. WTF again? I showed her my other ID that has my middle name, which matches the name on the 2nd package. She finally gave it to me. I mean, I understand she wanted to make sure to give the package to the right person, but she should have asked me for proof instead of making an conclusion and simply took away my package. At the end I asked if I could track the returned package using the original tracking # on the label, she turned around and gave her back, replied in a cold, impatient tone "yeah". Then walked away. WTF is wrong with this woman? If she doesn't like her job then just quit! Stop freaking giving me an attitude! By the way, I saw a sign on the counter that says the Chinese-speaking clerk has retired and there's no other clerk that can assist customers in Chinese. I was thinking, good luck to those customers that can't speak English, I hope they don't get this woman. I can already imagine how rude she is to them. She's probably a racist too. I can't believe how rude the staff is here. Every woman who works there is miserable, acts disrespectfully towards customers and they openly text while with customers; they'll even make you wait while they finish a text. Also, I have had a staff person try to talk poorly about the customer before me to me and I just did not engage in the conversation. Every time I come here it is a terrible experience and I cannot get over how miserable and inconsiderate they are. I went to this post office to send out text books that I had sold on Amazon and there was an older women that looked like she was in her mid 40's with shoulder length hair. I have never encountered such horrible customer service. I gave her my package and she asked me if there was anything fragile, liquid, etc. inside and I said, "No, but there text books inside." And then she asked me, "Is there any hand written correspondence inside" and I said. no. Then she said, "I can open it and check you know" in a tone as if she was accusing me. So I said, "Well you can open it and check if you want". Then she gave me this look like "why would I open it for", sucked her teeth at me and mumbled something under her breathe. If you didn't want to check it then why accuse me and say you can open it and check it. This lady was so rude that I am NEVER coming back here again. I bought a $120.00 item on ebay and the mail carrier left it on my doorstep. I live above a laundromat and it got stolen. They could have left a note and had us pick it up but they were to lazy to bring the item back for us to pick it up at the station. They are retarded. Today, Saturday June 27th, I received 26 pieces of mail. Three pieces were current, 3 were undated and 20 pieces of mail were from October and November 2014. Some of these delayed pieces were very important , such as credit card statements and prescription information. We didn't have snow in October or November so I am at a loss to explain why my mail was held up. read more
