    Self service machine
    Abbey C.

This post office is the best for the Arden area as long as the self service machine is working and there's no one in line for it. The lobby is open until 7pm - you can come after 5pm when everyone thinks it's closed and no one will be there. The self service machine lets you print postage right there just like the people inside do for you. You can also buy stamps there and do a bunch. It's a pretty nice lil set up honestly.

I did not have to or want to go in line to work with the postal office employees. Parking lot appeared nearly full. Super stressful trying to turn left into the post office and difficult getting back on the road from the parking lot. Too much traffic on Arden Way. There were so many cars that I couldn't easily or safely take a photo of the collection times on the outdoor post office mailboxes. This is a busy post office. The one plus is that this post office has more and later collection times.

This Post Office at Arden Way is very close to my work. But it is the only I try to avoid. I am willing to drive a little farther away instead of mailing my packages here! They're better than a few years ago when I decided to write a review for them now. They're one star if I rate them a few years ago. They have double the stars now, increased from 1 to 2 stars! Lol! This is one of the very busy post offices in the Sacramento area. But often have one or two window clerks working at the front counter even they have a very long line going out the door. I have never seen the workers here with any kind of a smile on their faces! Some window clerks take a very long time in between customers. They will go to the back for a very long time after one customer regardless of how many customers in the line waiting for a very long time already. The workers at the other post offices may not be any better. But at least they have a shorter line!

The absolute worst post office. Long lines, slow service. Hit or miss on whether they'll answer for service pick up. Avoid if you can!!

THANK GOD FOR RICO!…read more Before the start of the new year, I came to this USPS to mail 3 12x16" canvases out of state. This was my first time sending something like this by mail and I had no idea what I was doing. Rico, the front desk employee, was so patient with me and he helped me mail the canvases step by step. Rico even cut down the oversized box that I purchased to ship the canvases, which decreased the shipping cost tremendously. Thank you Rico and God bless you!

The current drive-up mailboxes located at the El Camino (off Watt Ave.) are a disservice to the drive-up customer. A year ago, the El Camino Post Office had Snorkel Collection Boxes installed curbside. The curbside boxes had a chute that allowed motorists to lower their car window and deposit mail while remaining in the vehicle. This year (2024), they replaced the curbside snorkel chute mailboxes with Standard Collection Boxes. These mailboxes have flat indented faces with a slit that you push your envelopes through. To drop mail in these curbside boxes, you must get out of your car, walk up to the mailbox and deposit the envelopes through the slender rectangular opening. This curbside drop box is not a service, it is an annoyance. This El Camino Post Office is integral to our Arden Arcade neighborhood, but it often feels as if management is doing things to make using this post office as difficult as possible in order to reduce service and dissuade customers from using the post office. It's as if they are making us unhappy on purpose so they can close the post office.

I normally drive a little farther to this one at the corner of Fulton Ave and Marconi Ave. This one has way fewer customers all the time. I think is because of the location. The Post Office is deep inside a parking lot all the way to the end and the parking lot entrance is on Marconi Ave instant-on Fulton Ave as the address shown! This office usually has only one or two windows open. But I have never seen more than 3-4 customers inside. It is way better than the one on Arden Way or the one on El Camino Ave. I normally spend less than 5 minutes in this office for the window services. I happen to be on the way to dinner in Carmichael when I remembered I needed to mail a very special birthday card to Germany. The thing is I wanted to mail it first class, of course, but did not know how much postage would be required. So I could not plaster a bunch of stamps on the envelope and hoped it arrived there!:-) Basically I needed to stand in line and have the employee do his/her thing to get it mailed. Ugh! I rarely have any reason to physically walk into a post office at all. Especially during the holidaze:) Anyway... I suddenly remembered this location and I actually had the letter with me... so what the heck. I was literally a mile away when the light bulb went on. Miracles do happen. It was about 4:15 p.m., and there were only 4 peeps in line. That would never happen in El Dorado Hills. At anytime of the day. So I was thrilled. While waiting my turn, I started looking around and noticed a lot of very tasteful Christmas decor... It brought me to a peaceful moment and I instantly went from uptight and impatient to grateful and happy for that sweet little post office. They really took the time to "deck the halls". By the time it was my turn at the counter... I was in chill mode:) The employee had my letter post marked and into the bin in under 2 minutes. So thank you, Carmichael post office employees, for taking the time to bring some Christmas joy to your patrons and community. Much appreciated. Merry, merry!

This is none other than the Carmichael "US Post Office" that is located directly on Fair Oaks Blvd and adjacent to Carmichael Park. Since I have lived around this area throughout the years, it has been my go-to post office. I will say that the parking lot is quite spacious but the building itself is very outdated. Think of it as being a blast-to-the-past with floor tiling that is from the 1970s/80s and aside from the digital stamp kiosks, this building hasn't seen a whole lot of upgrades in decades. I came here during the afternoon of Saturday 10/18/2025 at around 1:00pm as I had to mail out a certified letter out of state. It was roughly a 15-minute wait as there were 3 postal employees working behind the counter. Once it was my turn, I paid the postage fees and was done in just a few minutes. This post office also has standard hours of operation being open weekdays from 10am-5pm, Saturdays from 10am-2pm, and closed on Sundays. In addition to their customer service area, they sell various mailing envelopes, boxes, and even a nice assortment of Hallmark greeting cards. And if you don't need to buy stamps from an employee, they sell them in the main front entrance lobby area. They also have several blue US mailboxes for standard letters at the exterior parking area. Again, the Carmichael "US Post Office" is a hit or miss. But in this day in age where everything seems to be going digital, I don't see myself frequenting this place that much anymore. My review, just an average three star rating.
