All Postal Agents have treated me with respect and are always helpful. My review relates to the drive-up mail-box drops. The current drive-up mailboxes located at the El Camino (off Watt Ave.) are a disservice to the drive-up customer. A year ago, the El Camino Post Office had Snorkel Collection Boxes installed curbside. The curbside boxes had a chute that allowed motorists to lower their car window and deposit mail while remaining in the vehicle. This year (2024), they replaced the curbside snorkel chute mailboxes with Standard Collection Boxes. These mailboxes have flat indented faces with a slit that you push your envelopes through. To drop mail in these curbside boxes, you must get out of your car, walk up to the mailbox and deposit the envelopes through the slender rectangular opening. This curbside drop box is not a service, it is an annoyance. This El Camino Post Office is integral to our Arden Arcade neighborhood, but it often feels as if management is doing things to make using this post office as difficult as possible in order to reduce service and dissuade customers from using the post office. It's as if they are making us unhappy on purpose so they can close the post office. read more

I usually go to the another two post offices in the area. But this one is close to where I have to go on the day. So I went there to ship out two packages. It took me much longer than what I expected with only four customers in front of me! The reason they have only one clerk working behind the counter! The location of this post office is convenient, but a little harder to found if you do not already know they are on the back of all the buildings! Post office boxes are also available in this location. Parking is easy even the parking lot is not very clean! I don't know I really want to use this location in the winter when sunset is early because like what I said. This post office is behind all the buildings! read more

I don't even know where to begin. Never before have I witnessed such a complete lack of professionalism from an employee by the name of Rico. When speaking with customers, Rico is not only rude, but also extremely disrespectful and quite frankly offensive towards members of the public. While waiting in line, I witnessed an elderly woman (ahead of me) attempting to communicate concerns regarding a parcel she was trying to send. Rico continued to berate the woman, scolding her for not having the correct zip code on her package, and expressed his opinion that a "woman of her age" should know how to correctly address shipping labels. Afterwards as the woman began to leave and I approached the counter, Rico "apologized" to me for having to wait, before making some off the wall comment in how the woman clearly needed to be in some type of home. At that point in an attempt to shame him for his behavior, I admittedly lied to Rico and told him the woman was my grandmother & did not find his comment funny. Rather than to apologize, Rico suggested I "lighten up" as he was only trying to make a joke. I've since made several attempts to contact USPS customer service to express my concerns however to no avail. While I was not at all surprised to see so many negative reviews here regarding Rico and his pattern of behavior, I am however shocked (and saddened) to see he is allowed to continue to treat customers this way without any repercussions. read more

Wow. I really have no words for the JERK at the counter. I walked in with 5 parcels to post. One parcel needed a tyvek envelope (I already had the address label completed and all) but i looked around and could not find the envelope. All 4 of my other parcels were ready to go. I thought if he could provide me with the envelope or tell me where they were, i could stick my mail in the envelope and have it sealed before he was done weighing and postaging my other parcels. Simple, right? Nope. The ration of crap that i got from this guy (tall-ish with a gold cross necklace) was unreal. He started to turn me away to the back of the line because of the ONE parcel and proceeded to grill me about how all of my packages needed to be ready so that they could continue to move the line. Never mind the fact that there were 4 people in line behind me and the ONE customer service agent assisting customers had to ASK him to open his window and help since it was nearly 5 pm (closing). At the same time he was reading me the riot act, a gal was at the other window purchasing a gift card and tape and still had to put the gift card in her parcel AND tape it up! This is also the woman who cut me in line when i stood back to peek at the station where the free USPS mailers are. I usually take my parcels to the Bel Air Customer Service counter (best in the area!) but they were turning customers away due to their registers being down. I will NEVER return to the quiet, outdated post office behind Sam's again. I highly suggest if you are....maybe let the person behind you go to that grouchy man's window and wait for the next window to open up. It might be time for that guy to retire or find a job where he doesn't have to work with the public. read more

THANK GOD FOR RICO! Before the start of the new year, I came to this USPS to mail 3 12x16" canvases out of state. This was my first time sending something like this by mail and I had no idea what I was doing. Rico, the front desk employee, was so patient with me and he helped me mail the canvases step by step. Rico even cut down the oversized box that I purchased to ship the canvases, which decreased the shipping cost tremendously. Thank you Rico and God bless you! read more

I have no accent unless Orange County California has a accent a Sacramento native can't understand. Sadly this is the closest post office to my home, I don't go there anymore after multiple times I was overcharged and was treated kinda rude and nice at the same time?? If that does make any sense. 1. I wanted to send an envelope card and I was charged for a parcel, the lady said the rules changed but never informed me before charging me, I had to pay anyways, but I checked the rules and all it needed was an additional stamp. 2. Some small parcels were returned to me stating that i had to pay more I went to another post office qns showed them and they said that everything was ok with them , they didn't understand why and apologize for it. 3. Some of my mail has been lost when dropped off to this office. 4. There's a lady (long gray hair) that she makes you pay more and also she wants me to confirm the address on the screen and I think that's ok but she takes the mail away from you, how can I confirm then ?? She gets upset and frustrated and I said I would go back in line and it was still early so it's not like they were in a hurry to go home. 5. I wish this post office would offer a better service,I always go to other locations but this one is the closest one to my house. It's annoying. read more

As of December 7, 2020 one of the clerks who works there regularly refuses point blank to wear his mask above his nose. The space is small and cramped and poorly ventilated. Please consider your safety before going to this location during the Covid-19 epidemic. Would give 0 stars if I could. I have been to this post office since moving to Carmichael maybe 5-6 times and only ever mailed something once given then NEVER open on time! They are supposed to open at 8:30 but on multiple accounts I've waited until 8:45 with someone inside just refusing to open the doors. Yesterday I went to drop off a package before work and patiently waited until about 8:35 before knocking to ask the man standing inside if they will be opening soon. He yelled back at me, we don't open until 8:30... when it is clearly past that time. He then proceeded to come to the door and opened it but informed me the registers weren't ready and it would "be a while" before he could help me.. I understand that COVID has left everyone short staffed and overworked but that doesn't excuse the rude and consistently unprofessional behavior of this employee, who I found out his name is Rico. USPS should take a look at the quality of their employees and make sure their offices open on time so people who have to work can access the mail system. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this branch and advise everyone else to save yourself some time and headaches and find somewhere else to send your mail. read more

I really like the USPS Centre Branch office. It's my local post office and since it's a bit out of the way (hidden behind a big shopping center) it's not perpetually packed to the gills. The employees there are pretty nice and kinda goofy, I'll usually crack a joke with them while at the counter. Dear postal employees: I know you're a small branch and you're understaffed, and please know that I appreciate all your hard work (and thank you for not snarling at me when I walk in 10 minutes before close with massive tote bags full of eBay packages to ship!) If there's one thing I'd change about this USPS location, I'd add an Automated Postal Center machine. Those machines are damned handy, and I'd rather drive across the street than drive 10 minutes to the closest PO with one. read more

Out of all the post offices in the SAcramento area this location is very quiet. Meaning it's not really busy at all. Even during the Holidays. But they do have everything a post office should have. Greeting cards, packaging tape, envelopes (vary sizes), special occasion wrapping papers, stamps, and etc... Plenty of parking. The staff is kinda blah. Most of the workers are older, very slow, and not happy looking but they do get the work done......eventually. read more

I use this location as it is closest to my workplace. I was in yesterday to send several packages for Mother's Day. And while I have had good experiences with all of the postal workers, Rico was particularly helpful. He took the time to explain that mailing my packages would be the most cost effective if I used a flat rate mailer. I sent 3 packages which would have totaled $45, but instead paid $33.35 (a savings of $11.65). He was friendly and professional and encouraged me to ask questions in the future. read more

I went to this post office because I was in the area of my errands and needed to return a package I bought on amazon. First off it was a 5-10 wait because the 2 clerks were chatting it up too much with customers when the line was 4 deep. When it was my turn this clerk I did not get her name but once I told her I printed the label at UPS she became real snotty and told me we do not tape you can buy tape over there. This would not have been an issue with me but it was her attitude. I left feeling this is why I like UPS they print and tape all with a smile and rarely await. From here on out I will not buy from vendors that ship USPS I don't need to be treated bad. If USPS hasn't noticed they are not the only game in town anymore read more

UPDATE: The lobby hours are horrible and the doors are always locked and mail is NOT sorted on the weekend. I ended up cancelling my PO Box after 2 years and got a box at Arden, at least they have waaaay better lobby hours This is a great, out of the way PO. The clerks are friendly and helpful, I have a new PO box at this location, they are closed on Saturdays but I can still get in there and check my PO box on Saturday. This is the only post office i like to go to. i have been to 3 of them in Sacramento and this is the one i always have the best experience at. Instead of them just taking my package to send off and charging me the amount, they always stop me in my tracks and tell me what cheaper alternatives i can do. If you want to experience EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, then do your mailing business with Rico, who is a postal worker at the Center Post Office, next door to Emigh's Hardware on El Camino. Yesterday, the woman ahead of me in line was mailing a picture frame in a plain envelope. Rico advised her that for the same price she could mail it in a flat rate mailer and then the frame would be better protected. To advise a customer of a better way to send something is going above and beyond, and I have seen Rico do that time and time again. He is courteous to each and every customer, and he just works really hard to make things run smoothly at this post office. When I commented to Rico on the newly-installed plexiglass windows at each station, he replied that he had come in on a Sunday, just after the sheltering-in-place began, and INSTALLED THEM HIMSELF, using wooden bases, metal braces, plastic edging, and white duct tape! These windows help protect all of us, and they are yet another example of Rico going the extra mile. Lindsey S. 7/25/18 I feel obligated to share the experience I had yesterday at this post office. I am new to the USPS postage program at my current employer and I under funded nearly 100 mailings. Of course I received a call very shortly after dropping them off to come get them they were ALL WRONG! When I arrived I was greeted by Rico one of the people responsible for verifying that dummies like myself apply the correct postage. Not only did Rico take the time to explain what I had done wrong He marked EVERY envelope with the correct adjustment. That was way beyond the call of duty! That made it so easy for me to correct. This was absolutely the worst post office experience I have ever had. The lady behind the counter was not only trying to charge me more money for priority mail, but then told me it would be cheaper to go and use a regular envelope which I had to purchase. So I fill it out as she told me and wound up charging me four dollars more without it being priority. I don't really understand what happened behind all of that, and how she royally screwed me in this, but she completely messed up the whole situation charged me more and I wound up paying $14 for a standard return of a lightweight product instead of $11 for priority mail with my own box!!! Horrible- on top of that she insulted me Multiple times like I was the bad guy for trying to save myself some money. She set that up to where I paid more and had a terrible experience, left there insulted and pissed off. Worst post office ever. read more

Wish I'd checked Yelp first because I concur with the reviews, the staff here are unbelievable in how rude and abrasive they are towards their customers. Like maybe they don't get the nicest regulars being in that neighborhood, but their attitude is pretty terrible. I needed to mail an express overnight package and stopped by there on my commute home. I can understand if they're too small a location to have a later in the afternoon pick-up. What I don't need is to be informed of that in a "you idiot" tone of voice from the clerk (I didn't know, the information isn't on USPS's website). Also she walked away from me after telling me to re-write the address I was shipping to on the label. No "we'll drop it in the mail after you're done." Just up and walks off and I'm standing there after like "now what?!" and she starts hollering at me that I need to leave because they're closing up. Me: "Yeah well you could've told me that it was done and to just finish the address instead of walking off and leaving me there." Her: "I told you what to do, now you need to go!" Her colleague was equally as charming, yelling at another customer about how he "didn't" listen to her instructions when he had several packages ready to mail. I'm kind of amazed, like I've had to travel to developing countries to experience this level of bureaucratic high handed behavior (and most of the time, I have a really good experience with USPS employees) coming from these two women. AVOID if possible and hopefully they'll either close this location or put these two people in the back with friendlier staff out front. Also - I have a good amount of skepticism after that experience of getting kicked out while my package was sitting on the counter that it'll get delivered to the right location. read more
