What is VERY disappointing, however, is the fact that the building and grounds, which were very nice when brand new not too long ago, have fallen into a terrible state of disrepair. There have been ceiling tiles inside the building, right over the heads of the workers at the counters, missing and water stained because of a leaking roof. The employees actually have to put buckets on the counters for the nights and weekdends during the rainy months of the year. This has been going on for almost two years now. The grass is always dead and weed-filled throughout the Summer. The bushes and shrubs outside are all over grown and not maintained. The grass is very often over grown and tall, full of weeds. The sidewalks haven't been edged in years.. I could go on and on. It is very disappointing. The Post Office is supposed to be the one business in town that is a beacon of cleanliness and order. It is no wonder that many friends have commented that they have not even been to the post office in years. It's just not a very inviting atmosphere. In fact it is quite depressing to see it's state in an otherwise beautifully kept city!

It took a couple months after shipment for the items to be inspected by the auction house and then listed for bids. When I saw the auction photos, a WWII Navy battle lantern with one crack across the corner of a thick glass lens had arrived with that same lens shattered. When the auction house was notified that this was not the condition the item was sent in, the auction house said that overall the shipment wasn't packed well and avoid this location. As a lessor valued item in the lot, an insurance claim so long after sending wasn't worth the effort, and the remaining items were intact. The service here has always been friendly and prompt, and I will continue to use this shop. Not when shipping antiques... I tried to respond to the owner by email, to give greater details in writing and provide photos, but apparently their email address is not routinely monitored, and no response after a week. Note that the UPS Pack and Ship Guarantee says if your item "is damaged or lost in transit, you'll be reimbursed*." Because of that sneaky asterisk though, I wouldn't count on it. Restrictions apply. Participating locations only. No mention of it.

They have office and packing supplies, print and copy services, Amazon return services, and secure post boxes. Rates are comparable to their competitor down the street, but in my experience, UPS usually doesn't surprise you with outlandish weight adjustments. I called him ahead of seeing the desk in person to get an idea of how much it'd cost me. He gave me a ballpark but requested some additional information that helped him narrow down his estimate. Very little lead-time was required (just a few days) and he worked around both parties' available schedules. Not only was Roland very responsive and helpful in giving me an estimate, but on the ball with communication and flexible with payment options. Nice to know there are movers out there that are not only versatile with their offerings (e.g, no 3 hour minimum; happy to accept one-off or small jobs) but accept that in this day and age, people want a myriad of payment options. Look, anyone with muscles can move something heavy, and anyone with a brain can do it without destroying your house in the process - but being friendly, courteous, communicative, low-key, responsive, and reliable are not skills everyone possesses - however, Roland & Co do. I have shipped packages here daily for over two years I've never had a real problem to complain about until a couple of weeks ago. An employee treated me extremely unprofessionally and was unnecessarily rude and contemptuous, almost like they were already angry and spiteful when I walked up. Soon after I returned to ship another package, hoping to resolve/be heard about my experience. I asked to speak to the store manager and if there was a private place where we could speak-trying to avoid having this conversation out in the open . She walked me over to the side right next to everyone in line doing their orders. When I tried to explain what happened with the employee the week before she snapped at me almost immediately, and said, "I do not care about your complaint," and walked away mid-sentence. Not only was I shocked I was appalled. I approached her with discretion and a desire to be heard for what and how the employee had treated me and her answer was literally I. DO. NOT. CARE! Like I said, I've been coming in the store for two years daily sometimes multiple times a day never had an issue but the very first time I have an issue this is how it's handled? The experience with the manager was worse than the experience with the employee but quite frankly very similar. I can't tell you how awful this has been. Even though I will have to drive a little farther away, I will 100% not return to this business. I will use FedEx down the street. I calculate I have spent anywhere from $200 to $800 a week, nearly $26,000 a year shipping at this store for my business. I would say I have been a loyal customer. Apparently that means absolutely nothing--- ok.
