It took a couple months after shipment for the items to be inspected by the auction house and then listed for bids. When I saw the auction photos, a WWII Navy battle lantern with one crack across the corner of a thick glass lens had arrived with that same lens shattered. When the auction house was notified that this was not the condition the item was sent in, the auction house said that overall the shipment wasn't packed well and avoid this location. As a lessor valued item in the lot, an insurance claim so long after sending wasn't worth the effort, and the remaining items were intact. The service here has always been friendly and prompt, and I will continue to use this shop. Not when shipping antiques... I tried to respond to the owner by email, to give greater details in writing and provide photos, but apparently their email address is not routinely monitored, and no response after a week. Note that the UPS Pack and Ship Guarantee says if your item "is damaged or lost in transit, you'll be reimbursed*." Because of that sneaky asterisk though, I wouldn't count on it. Restrictions apply. Apparently they subcontract with Delta airlines to deliver bags that have not made it to their destination on time. According to Delta they were to arrive between 6pm and 11pm and were to call before arriving. At 11:15pm on a Sunday night they finally arrived (no call) and I was about to head to bed. I saw them outside (the owner and some smaller younger kid) and went out to meet them. The kid walked up laughing a bit and I asked "do you all have our phone number? I'm curious why you didn't call especially if you were going to be late?" He immediately rolled his eyes then asked for my signature. I stated "before I sign I'd like an answer to my question..." He then replied "if you aren't going to sign then you can pick it up at the airport..." and started to load the bag back in the vehicle....no apologies for not calling...no "I apologize for running late..."...nothing. Instead an altercation occurred when the owner got out of the vehicle and before asking what the problem was he instantly started using foul language and became over the top irate. I asked if he even knew what I had asked his employee and he said "it doesn't **cking matter". If that's the example that's offered as their service level I would HIGHLY avoid this business at all costs. Everything would have easily and quickly been resolved with a simple apology at the start by the person who unloaded the bag. Pretty basic customer service principle.
