How is it that a business does not answer the phone all day long???? I've been calling throughout the day letting the phone ring and no one is answering the phone. That is a poor business practice. Mail deposited into interior collection box at San Clemente Post Office, stolen, and check cashed. Not sure at what point after deposit of mail it was stolen but I was made aware of large quanties of mail being stolen from loading docs, just sitting unattended by staff. read more

2 passport renewals today. Maline served us. First one had the appointment. Our second did not have appointment on her end but I did make it online. She offered to process both Applications. Then our photos obtained outside were not the correct size(face size too small). We got her to take new ones. Everything was checked and processed. A pleasant professional experience. Made an appointment---week in advance-- arrived 10am early. Waited in line and was directed to the passport room where paperwork's handled and payment is made. I had to wait 20min AFTER my appointment time. When all was done she asked me to please submit a review. I clarified my wait time etc-- she said not her fault. No sorry, emergency occurred or we're short handed. Find a better spot for your postal needs. read more

Post office is 7th level of hell. I have a broken foot and 2 young kids. Showed up on time for passport appointment with all forms filled out and photos. Wife was 5 min away. Employee wouldnt see me as my wife was not present and wouldn't wait. No acknowledgement that "oh hey here are 2 kids and an injured human," I'll wait for 5 min. Employee then went to lunch, I'm sure they enjoyed the extra time they got by being difficult. read more

I've only had good experiences here and after today I thought I would spend my short waiting time to leave them a note. Here is why: -The staff is always super helpful and nice. -I got my passport here a few years ago with an appt. - super easy. - I walked in right at 5pm today and the doors weren't closed and they didn't turn me away. The manager was starting to close and asked how to help me with a weird shipping question. - this location takes debit and credit cards now! Just wanted to put this out there, I went to post office on Pico, mailed packages and a few bills . One bill was property taxes, I wanted to take picture of the bill being mailed out so I would have proof. Get ready for this... the girl behind counter said that I couldn't take picture. I've taken pictures before of certain bills for proof. I had to go to another post office and they didn't have a problem with it. people now a days. Get a grip ! read more

I came here to pick up a package and rang the bell at the Mail & Package Pickup multiple times. No one arrived so I knocked on the door. Finally someone at the front desk mentioned no one was there & to wait in the back of the line. This would have been helpful to know up front instead of after the line grew further. I got in line & then someone emerged from that area to help someone else. If no one is there put a sign on the door alerting patrons & have some decent customer service. The entire ordeal took close to 30 minutes. This post office also had a problem with mail theft previously and had to remove outdoor mailboxes. Go elsewhere. read more

This used to be a good PO location and the workers were helpful. The last time I went in person to get a letter stamped & post marked to be mailed that day, I went to take a quick photo of it on my phone and worker took the letter away and send and wouldn't ALLOW me to take a photo. I had to buy proof of receipt of service. If it was my taxes or something like that, I usually do. But it floored me that I was not ALLOWED to do like I've always done. I went to another PO and went to do the same thing. NO problem there. And I agree with the other comments. The workers are very rude to the public. read more

This location seems to have experienced a significant theft problem this holiday season Be mindful of this. Would be best if you waited in line to make sure the packages were scanned as received by the post office and possibly insure them as well. The absolute worst place i've ever been. The workers are RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. They didn't help us at all but make up a bunch of lies so they won't have to do their job. Im glad I won't end up working here, because I am disgusted by the audacity some people have to sit around and get payed for just being flat out LAZY. I was trying to get our passports which would take 10 minutes and they messed up the times. They deserve to go out of business and the workers end up on the street. read more

My wife waited all day for a package to be delivered that never came. She looked online and had seen the driver claims he stopped at 4:30pm and nobody answered. We called the post office the next day to ask what happened and they had stated the driver was there. Thank God for RIng video cameras which proved the driver never made it and never came to the door. Matter of fact never seen a car drive down our street on camera also. We were told by Jessica its our word against the driver, lol.. We have video as proof and our windows were open the entire day. No wonder the postal service cannot survive because they have lazy drivers who lie. Consumers, send your packages another way if you can. I am also making complaints with Amazon and other retailers about their practices. This is the straw that broke the camels back. Its happened to many times and I am not taking it anymore. read more

This post office is tucked away in the Rancho San Clemente office park. It is a very quiet post office. There is a large parking lot but I've not seen more than a few cars ever parked there. They have three main counters, a mail pickup window and a retail counter. Generally there are two of the main counters open and the pickup window. The wait, if any, is generally short. The only times that there is more than a 5 minute wait is during lunch time. The staff is friendly and efficient. They accept credit and debit cards which makes life much easier. They have an ample supply of packaging materials for sale in addition to the free boxes if you use priority mail or express mail. Only two minor gripes about this post office. They don't have an automated self service machine. So, if you go after hours or on Saturday when this location is closed all you can do is drop off mail. If you need to buy stamps you can't do that when they are closed. Second is that they never have working pens. I always remember to bring a pen with me if i have to fill out a certified mail or other kind of form. However, if you forget, the nice people who work here will let you borrow a pen. If you want a post office that you can get in and out of quickly, this is the one! read more

I would give this location 5 stars if it was based solely on location and parking! Great location and parking is NEVER an issue. Unfortunately, there are no other redeeming factors about this location. There are no mailboxes to drop your mail from the car. Call me lazy, but if I don't need to park and walk inside, I am a happy camper. You don't even have the option here. You must walk inside. There are no "package" drops inside. There is a place for you to drop letters, but if you have a package, you must wait in line (which tends to take an excruciating amount of time at this location), and drop it off with one of the employees. Which brings me to the staff - I've never had a pleasant experience here. Not every experience is noteworthy terrible, but the staff seems wildly unhappy and customer service goes a long way for me. I came here today to open a PO Box. I followed the instructions carefully, brought exactly what was required and they refused to rent me a PO Box. She said I needed something else which wasn't listed anywhere and when I asked her how would I know that? She just said I don't know. It's like she made it up and pulled it out of thin air. Do NOT use the passport services at this location. I made 3 separate appointments and every single one was canceled on me at the last minute. The first appointment was double booked, the 2nd appointment the only passport clerk they have called out sick (I get it, that happens), but the 3rd appointment was led because the employee had to lane early that day. I ended up having to pay a 60 dollar fee to get my daughter's passport expedited because of their mistakes. AND I've called several times to speak with a manager or ANYONE and have never received a call back. Horrible, horrible service. read more

What an experience with this group. Went in yesterday to purchase a roll of postcard stamps. Was having trouble with my bank cards the chip on both cards damaged so wouldn't work for payment so I used a credit card. I left and went back to my office and noticed online that the clerk charged both my credit card and the card that appeared to not have worked. I went back and was met with "well did you buy two rolls of stamps?" Should have been simple, like sir we will revert one of charges. I had to make two trips back just to get the original clerk #06 who was very rude and ultimately requested a supervisor. I was thinking why are we treated so bad by the postal service and realized they think we need them but to the contrary they need us. This morning the charge was taken off. If that would have been explained yesterday it would have saved all the hassle. Let visit for me to the postal doors to many other avenues for this service. I work in the business park where this post office is located. I go there daily, and have never had any issues with the staff, or the pens. Great staff and fast service, rarely is there a long line to mail items. My go to for any postal needs. A+ read more

USPS in San Clemente on Calle Negocio is understaffed. The woman I delt with today was rude and did not seem to know the rules on mailing international. I filled out some outdated custom forms so she gave me other ones to fill out.....When I returned to the front of the line she then notified me since it was 5lbs and not 4 lbs that requires a different form........So now I had to fill out all the paperwork again.....I return to the desk and am now notified that the full first name needs to be on the package and not just an initial........Realllllly.....I have mailed hundreds of packages to Canada and always used the first initial......She would not take the package unless I rewrote the address with my full first name.........I picked up my packages and went around to UPS store on Pico and La Plata..........service was phenomenal. They printed up my labels , put it on my package and not once said I had to write my name in full.....Took less than 5 minutes to complete the transaction..... Dear USPS.....You have lost another customer for life.....When the post office goes under because of lack of Customer service and you loose your jobs......I will not feel sorry for you in the unemployment line. You do not deserve to have a Government funded paycheck with all the benefits. read more

Avoid this Post Office. I mailed almost 40 christmas cards from this location on Friday 12/15; a month later I am finding out that some were never received and some are just being delivered a month later; one was postmarked 1/12 in San Bernardino, one had no postmark or cancelled stamp at all. On 12/15 I also mailed a $50 gift card which recipient has never received. I belong to a neighborhood 'network' group comprised of several local neighborhoods; multiple, multiple reports of outgoing mail that was dropped off INSIDE this post office that contained checks/gift cards, etc. that never arrived at their destinations. read more
