When we first moved to the area, there was a small post office in Aliso Viejo. It had the worst hours possible and horrible customer service. When they closed that location down, we started coming to this location. The Laguna Niguel Post Office is so much better than the old Aliso location. The Laguna Niguel Post Office is located off of Alicia Parkway and Niguel Road. The parking lot is large, but can be crowded at times. Sometimes, people park against the gate due to a lack of parking spaces during busier times. The business itself is average in size. Sometimes the line extends past the P.O. boxes and it moves kind of slow. They typically have 2 people working at the front counter, but if the line is moving too slow, they'll bring out another representative to help speed things up. Customer service here is excellent! If the line slows down, the lady from the passport photo room will take customers into her office and assist them with their packages etc. They run a pretty tight ship here! I have been to several post offices in South OC and this one is my go-to location. They know all of their regular customers and it's refreshing to see that they remember your face when you come in. I've had plenty of great experiences here and I will continue to come to this location to mail packages etc. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service I received at this USPS location, specifically from the supervisor on duty. I came in trying to locate a package that was dropped off at this location and never received by the carrier it was supposed to be handed off to. I had tracking proof showing the package was never scanned into the next carrier's system. Instead of even attempting to check the back or see if it may have been misplaced internally, I was immediately told that "UPS should have it" and that there was nothing they could do. As a business owner, I understand that mistakes and delays happen. But what was frustrating was the complete lack of effort or accountability. I wasn't expecting miracles; I was simply hoping someone would at least attempt to check or escalate the situation internally. The supervisor and another employee both seemed very nonchalant about the situation, even after I explained the urgency and showed proof that the package was never received by the next carrier. I left feeling completely dismissed rather than helped. I understand policies exist, but customer service still matters. A little effort, empathy, or willingness to investigate would have gone a long way. read more

This is the only USPS that I've actually seen 3-4 associates working in the front, which suggests that they are actually relatively busy and need enough staff to handle the customers that do come through the front door. Although the front was well staffed, it still took about 10 minutes until I was able to receive service. However, the service was good and the associate did not have any issues with my oddly sized package (nearly the size of a large poster that could not be bent) and weighed my package and provided a receipt without any additional questions. Overall, it seems this location is able to handle the traffic, it was a relatively steady line of people visiting on a weekday late afternoon, and would probably return if I had USPS related items to address. read more

My local post office never has long waits and the staff is always very nice and helpful. We made an appointment to renew my son's passport online. The process was very easy and the postal clerk helping us was very thorough making sure we completed all the necessary fields on the application and submitted the right documents. He even let me know that we can only use black ink on the application. The parking lot has plenty of parking and it is in a convenient area to grab a bite at a nearby restaurant after our appointment. read more

I needed to mail out a certified mail and procrastinated for days because I hate going to the post office. There's usually a really long line and the parking lot can be chaotic too. I visited this USPS location and I was pleasantly surprised by how short the line was. I was the only person next in line and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Norma was really helpful and efficient with the process of getting my stuff mailed out and I couldn't have been happier. Maybe it was a fluke it was such a non stressful process on a Friday early afternoon but I certainly can't complain! read more

The manager does not listen and frequently talks over others. He shows little interest in hearing what people are trying to say, often assuming he already knows--and his assumptions are often incorrect. He raises his voice without clear reason and dismisses people before understanding their concerns, telling them to leave without offering help. It is very unprofessional and disappointing. read more

The rude lady at the front made me go through the line again after I showed her on my phone the sending address for my package. She said I had to write the address on the box. The second time I came through she loudly said that I had held up the line and was making all these people wait. Yet I was only at the counter for under a minute both times! It was embarrassing for her to say that so loudly and it used up my valuable time for her to make me go through the line twice when I could've just shown her the address on my phone. (This review is not focused on the primary post office -I appreciate the team at the main post office services counter. I've lived in Laguna Niguel for 15 years and have used this post office for most of my shipping and postage needs.) I am compelled to share the incredibly frustrating experience with the passport officer (which is actually the second time we have had to deal with her in the time we have been living here). From the moment we arrived (early) for our scheduled appointment, it was clear that customer service is not a priority. The officer who runs this counter like it is her personal domain is rude, dismissive, and appeared to be determined to make this as miserable an experience as possible for our family. Since this was the SECOND time we have had to deal with her (renewing passports for my daughters) - I came extra prepared. I doubled checked my forms - prepared my payments - photos ready, birth certificates etc. it was like she was digging to find something that I screwed up. I was chastised for writing the checks in blue ink - so I calmly offered to rewrite in her preferred black ink. I mentioned how warm the office was - as we started perspiring- and she then raised her personal heater temperature and CLOSED the door!!! I was literally trying to take deep breaths to try not to pass out. It was as if she took some kind of strange pleasure in making the experience as uncomfortable as possible. The entire process was unnecessarily stressful, and instead of offering clear instructions or assistance, the officer was condescending and unhelpful. For something as important as obtaining passports, I expected at least a modicum of professionalism and courtesy, which was sorely lacking in this woman who prides herself in holding this position for 30 years. I understand that the job can be stressful, but that doesn't justify treating people poorly. I do not recommend. read more

I had my mail box broken into x 2. To ensure it wouldn't happen again I wanted to keep my mail at this office for 3 months and would pick up weekly to discourage who ever was taking my mail from knowing where I get my mail. Manager played games was not helpful , played games even . Spoke to supervisor he was better, he came up with a plan that the lower management did not go along with to help me. When dropping mail that needs to be postmarked that day, don't assume it will be just because it was dropped off before time the box is cleaned. Recently, I dropped off letters inside the buildings mail box. It was set to be cleared out in 90 minutes so I didn't feel any need to stand in line and have them postmark them in front of me. Two weeks later, my letters still haven't reached their destination for a local delivery so I stood in line to ask what is the policy. This week, I went with my family to get my passport renewed. We walked into the Post Office 10 minutes early for our appointment that my mom made weeks before. We went into the passport office with absolutely everything prepared (the post office website stated what to bring) the moment we walked in we were greeted with a blast of insanely hot air, it felt like an absolute sauna in there. When we mentioned the heat, the lady brought in a portable heater and turned it up and proceeded to close the door to the passport office. When we gave her all of the CORRECT paperwork, she immediately tried to find something we did incorrectly, she then made a big stink about the fact that we wrote the check in blue ink, not black ink (which the post office website stated that you could use black OR blue ink pens). Unfortunately, the lady working in the post office has made renewing passports for the past 10+ years just a bad experience overall. She is unpleasant to be helped by and is rude when helping customers. read more

I sent a heavy package to a person in from Sonoma County CA to Laguna Beach, CA. It's a $4000 piece of audio equipment. It was 68 lbs and within their size and weight limits. Carrier refused to deliver it because he or she said "mail receptacle full/oversized." Well, it's not oversized. I posted it online and everything was ok. I put fragile and heavy stickers all over it. I also put a pink post it note saying "Leave at front door if no answer." I tried to contact the delivering post office for half a day. Winds up their phone number is wrong. I contacted Postal Headquarters in DC and they routed me through. I was finally routed to Kim and she is having the package delivered today. THE Bad: 1) Delivery person failed to deliver it from the getgo given my instructions; 2) Bad phone number; 3) WASTED MY ENTIRE MORNING tearing my hair out trying to reach them. The Good: finally reached Kim. She will have my package taken out and delivered per my instructions. Thanks Kim for your assistance. read more

Passport Services are ON POINT with Jung! Customer service isn't the same as it used to be. Do you value knowledge and experience over efficiency, professionalism and friendliness? Or vice versa? I had the worst service ever from the supervisor Quan. The mailman fabricated a story stating that he tried to deliver my packages, but ended up leaving a redelivery notice. He told the supervisor that he tried to deliver it to the leasing office, but after confirming with management.. this was not so. Quan yelled at me in front of everyone including my son. I just had surgery so experiencing such really hurt me emotionally. He should not be in a position of authority with this behavior I told him that I would need help carrying the packages to my car since I recovering (surgery was 4 days ago) and he told me "you better bring help"! Privatize - the line was out the door. If it was UPS or FedEx wouldn't have that issue. Takes forever just to do something at the window even when you get to the window. Trump is right. Needs to be privatized. read more

Most of the employees are helpful and I have no problem with, but Quan (Supervisor) is basically useless so don't even ask for his help. It's best to elevate your problem and contact customer service in Anaheim because he will do nothing to fix the issue or offer any help. He has absolutely no people or customer service skills but the PO continues to have him in this position. I have dealt with him before with the same results. Quan really needs to work in a dark room developing film for which he is well suited not dealing with humans. Oh did I forget to mention he also has a BIG attitude but what do you expect when the PO is a monopoly. I rarely go in or mail anything best to use Fed Ex or UPS. read more

They never delivers oversized packages. They expect you to pick up the next day at the post office. I ordered cardboard boxes for moving on Monday and they didn't deliver it. Now I have to goto home depot and buy more moving boxes. On top of that I now need to return the boxes I bought on Amazon. If it doesn't require a signature leave it in the mailroom like every other mail carrier. read more

Do not use this office. They steal your mail. I am at the OC Sheriff right now filing a police report for the crime which is the first step for legal action. In addition, when clients, the IRS, the California Franchise Tax Board, and other legal entities want to know why I have not replied to their mail I will show them the police report filed for the crime. I have the police report showing the date I was told by 3 men at this location, that they took my mail. I have the proof of payments made for the PO Box, all made on autopay thru the USPS website per my contract. When I went to pick up mail there was a card in my box saying the item was too large and to go to the clerk. You can see a picture of the card attached to this review; Keith took it from me in the office, even though it had been delivered to my PO BOX, as you can see with my PO Box one would not give me the card, but I took the photo before he took it from me. The first clerk told me that another clerk had "sent it all back" never having permission in the contract to take possession of my mail. I am filing a complaint with every consumer protection agency for a Federal offense of stealing mail from a PO Box as well as the police report. This post office has gone from being outdated and inefficient to now being outright corrupt. Keith Ambrose said he was the acting postmaster..he had nothing official like a name tag, or business card..and did not even want to give me his name. I asked him where in the contract I signed does it give him the legal authority to take a person's checks, business documents, health insurance documents, His response "Everybody knows". How does this guy even get paid to do a job where his answer is "Everybody knows" It is not in the contract; they just stole it. In addition, they charged me for my PO Box....for not providing any service. I also contact local media who investigate consumer complaints like this one. read more

All it take is for one employee to be amazing... and Jung in the passport department was just that! She took time that was supposed to be for her break to help me and explained everything to me in detail. I am new to this so I don't know much about the process of getting a passport and she was so patient and kind it was phenomenal. I made a few mistakes here and there and she was so willing to help me correct the mistakes. She broke down the pricing for me and made it so simple to understand. Made a long trip out of state and sat in traffic and made it here prior to 3p, but they conveniently closed at 2. What a pathetic place this is! Complete waste of time during the busy holiday season. I have had no mail since November 4. Except for junk mail and also some thing that was mailed to me from the Laguna Niguel post office which I did receive. I have not received any other mail in almost 4 weeks. No one does anything to resolve this for me. I've had to reach out to family to them know not to send anything through USPS. I'm not to only missing my personal mail. I am also missing checks and a MasterCard that was sent to me. The worst thing that happened through this, my checks at work has been garnished by the state of California because I wasn't receiving their letters in the mail. Came here to get my passport renewed and he lady who helped me out was very short and rude with me from even before I opened my mouth to ask for help. Without asking me anything, she looks at my form and tells me to go talk to the old man out at the counter. I wait in line and when it's my turn he tells me I have to go back to the lady for a photo and to which she gave me more attitude and excuses. The lack of any form of customer service is unreal and I'm spending my sweet time waiting to write this review. The post office gets one star for existing to help regular everyday folks get their mail figured out and another for actually getting my passport renewal processed. I had a package delivered here with a signed tracking number showing a delivery for Friday. I show up Saturday to find the staff have no idea where my package is and seem to more or less assert the tracking number is wrong or lying. They flat out refused to take the tracking number while simultaneously denying that it shows their staff signed for the package which allowed it to be released to them. read more
