It's been a nightmare. Several of the post offices I visited has been useless. This branch at least gave me more info. I'm having a pretty negative impression of USPS right now. But if you have to use this carrier, this location's probably the best one to go to. Their employees seem more competent and knowledgeable than the ones at the other offices. I saw a carrier at the bottom of Winfield and he was amazing! As busy as this guy is- he took the time to answer my question. I asked if they still pick up outgoing mail from residences these days and we both kind of laughed at the change in the times. He asked where I lived and said "sure he would do that for me". He certainly didn't have to do that- I'm certain many would have just directed me to the post office on 29th street or even waived me off before I got to the question. I'm sure delivering mail on foot isn't an easy job especially considering all the variables. These men and women do it faithfully in spite of ongoing challenges and this particular carrier- who I'm hoping will read this and remember our interaction- went above and beyond. I taped the small item to our mail slot (on the garage like many others) with a note thanking him. I was a little nervous until I saw the item was scanned and tracking. THANK YOU DO MUCH sir- please know your kindness and professionalism make a huge difference and today even several days later, I'm still thinking about it and smiling. Simple kindness especially these days- has a profound uplifting effect and every person like this guy, who do things the way he did, makes me want to emulate and carry that spirit to others. I just want you to know the effect was much more than convenience- it was confirmation that good hardworking and kind people are still in the world and it reflects very well on the postal service!
