If you're going to offer passport photos, at least train your employees to take a decent picture or train them to let the person see the picture before you send if off. I'm stuck with a horrible awkward picture for the next ten years now. Not the end of the world but I would've liked the passport to turn out a lot better. I don't know why there haven't been any recent reviews of the Sandy post office, so I thought I would leave a review. The post office itself, has for the most part, been decent. But the mail carriers (not all) need help. Whether it is more personnel or more training I'm not sure. But I have had medicine delivered twice to the wrong box and a delivery that needed a signature was given to a totally different resident . She knew me and knew she could give it to me, but seriously. If a package needs a signature, wouldn't you think they would be more conscientious? I did not report the last problem because I did at least get my package. But I think the delivery person needs help, in one way or another. read more

There is almost nothing worse than going to a US Post Office. It is Monday morning at 11:15 and there are 9 people in line. When I arrived, there were 2 people at the counter, now there is just one and they let a party with a passport appt skip to the front if the line. This post office is awful. I waited for 30 minutes and I was only behind 3 people when I arrived. I would have gone to UPS or to Fedex but my letter is going to a P. O. Box and has to be tracked. I don't know why I bothered to write this review because this is the Government and they don't care. But it was a way to pass the time while waiting. read more

This review is specifically for the passport application service at this Post Office location. Now keep in mind, there aren't many locations that handle passport applications in Salt Lake County, a handful of post offices at best, or if you have time on your hands you can go to the County Clerk's office downtown. While the downtown post office "claims" to be the only one that doesn't need an appointment, what they don't tell you is while their hours may be 9am to 4:30pm the guy has a 2 hour lunch break in the middle of it indicated by a taped on sign on the door when you get there. I got caught out by this (see review of downtown location) and found myself calling other locations. This location in Sandy told me they could do it without appointment (contrary to what my local Post Office indicated) so I head here instead. I walk in, and I'm just second in line at the Passport desk (this is midday on a Thursday for point of reference). 5 minute wait. 5 minutes to process my application and I'm on my way and awaiting my new passport in the mail. That easy. Plus the clerk was really friendly. read more

I often think of this as the forgotten post office. Or rather, I often forget that there even is a post office here and I don't think of it at all. So a quick location search for post office surprised me when I saw this address come up. Yet there it is, in its postal glory. If you've been here, it just may be for the passport portion of their services. I don't fully understand it, but what I know is that they've got a staff person here dedicated to passport applications, and that's not super common at all post offices. I myself came here just to mail a package. And mail it I did. And although the line was long and there was only one person manning the counter, it moved pretty quickly and I got out of there pretty fast. Glamorous, I know. But totally functional. read more

I paid extra to get a package delivered with a signature, the package went out for delivery but was never delivered... my client never received her package and my believe is the package was open and the valuables stolen. This post office is a joke. It's lost one of my packages. Service is very slow, and today I get a pink slip telling me to pick up my package in store because the clerk couldn't find space to leave it in our parcel locker. (It's quite small). I go to pick it up, and its not there. Then the manager seems content to make me wait an extra day to get it after wasting my time! Be prepared for major frustration when dealing with this place. read more

Paid extra for the right postage ($5 to mail a giftcard within a card worth substantial value). And it's lost. Suppose to be delivered in Feb filed for a missing mail search in March and it's now April and northing. The office never answers there phone so always need to call the general USPS line to talk to anyone... so frustrated. read more

We have had some serious issues with the post office in Sandy. A P.O. Box is supposed to be safe, and secure. Many checks and other very valuable mail, have been lost. We have asked them to address this issue we get no response or change in the service. I wish there were some sort of recourse, when we have our customers reissue checks, stop payments etc. It's very frustrating. I am on the verge of cancelling my PO Box, and trying a new location. read more

I weighed the package at 15.9 ounces they returned it to me saying it was 16 ounces. In the process they waste my time, their time the customers time and it costs more than three dollars for everyone then the extra three dollars in shipping that I have to spend for that extra .01 of an ounce. When I let the clerk know I was upset about the situation I asked her how often they check their scales and she in turn asked me how often I check my scale. What difference does it make how often I check my scale?? I'm not the one charging thousands of people money to the .01 of an ounce based on my scale. The employees here can be as rude as they want because they know nothing will happen to them and their customers have limited other options. read more

Need passport services? Stay AWAY from this post office branch. Michele, the one who works at the passport desk, is grumpy and rude! I'm very easy going and it takes a LOT to get me to the point where I will formally file a complaint against anyone. And I am filling a complaint with USPS against Michele. Michele is very inconsiderate. I stood in the "passport line" for 10 minutes, and when it was my turn I walked up to the counter and she refused to help me and told me to step away and stand back in line to finish filling out the last TWO lines of the application. She even walked away from the counter to get a supervisor. Are you kidding me??? By the time she had wasted 20 minutes arguing, calling supervisors and blah blah blah I was done dealing with her and her bad attitude. Her co-workers Rob and Kristi were also rude. The supervisor she called was a joke. I asked him for his name and he ignored my question, afraid of being reported. Luckily I know how to read and was able to get some employees' names from their badges. Of course, the supervisor wasn't wearing one. Go to Sandy City Hall to get your passport's needs taken care of. They offer the same service as the post office does. The good thing is that you won't be standing in line and you'll be helped by a much more pleasing and friendly employee. Horrible customer service. I had questions about dropping off comcast equipment. The guy at the counter interrupted me and said do you have postage? I told him no and he said I needed postage and to contact comcast. I tried again to talk to him about it and in a louder and firmer voice he told me to call Comcast if I needed help. I had no idea this post office even existed. I usually go to the one near Target in Sandy for all of my post office needs but had to come here to pick up my mail that was on hold while away. The staff are very friendly. The only thing I can say is that it seems a lot busier than others I've visited. If you can go to another one for your needs try that. If not, you may just end up standing in line for a few moments longer. A good thing they had going for them though that I must add is that they had all windows open to expedite the wait time so I truly didn't wait too long. read more

They are miserable, seem to hate the customers, and unwilling to go beyond the basic requirements of their job. Sure, they'll mail your package, but so will the machine in their lobby. The worst customer service I have ever received is from an employee from this location named Michelle. If she is the only one working, she will be standing in the passport line, turn around and leave. I went in today because a package I sent 3/24/18 has not been delivered. Her response was "we don't guarantee delivery in 3 days". Well Michelle it has been 10 days. Her response was an arrogant, blank stare. She is rude, condescending and extremely disrespectful. When I made the comment that I usually send packages Fedex she made another rude comment referring to the fact that I should learn my lesson. I wrote the post office to complain about her horrible behavior but I have not heard from them. I don't expect to hear from them but Michelle I have learned my lesson and I will never use this Post Office again. read more

I complained to the post office yesterday because some clothing I sent to my granddaughter was shoved and squeezed into the mailbox, wrinkling all the clothes. I received a phone message today that the carrier will be spoken to and that they are required to walk to the door if the packages won't fit. I suppose the carrier thinks they fit if she's able to crush them in. Then today more packages were delivered, one of them quite large. You guessed it -- they were also shoved and squeezed in. My GD told me that once the carrier tossed their mail at her instead of handing it to her. I suppose we should be thankful the mail gets delivered at all! I have photos of the deliveries -- I need an email address so I can send them. Poor attitude, poor customer service. read more

I've had an internet based business now for about 5 years, and about two years ago moved to this location. Prior to using this post office to drop my orders, I never had issues. Ever. At the South Salt Lake PO, I dropped the boxes off, they were scanned, and delivered in 2-3 days, and only had one lost due to a Hollywood post office. Unfortunately this post office is a completely different story. Some of the staff are nice, but the majority are incompetent and rude. All I get when I go in are scowls and rude remarks, specifically from the older dark haired lady who is always at the center desk. When I drop orders off at the desk, about 1/4 of them will actually be scanned into their tracking system, and more often than not will sit around for several days before actually being transported. An average of 10-15 boxes a month will end up in limbo, with customers emailing and complaining about the delay. When I call, I get the same song and dance every time. For the sake of example, I will drop off an order on Monday, on Wednesday the order will finally be accepted, and delivered Friday / Saturday, hopefully. On a few occasions it has taken a week or more for them to process a package, and when I call to inquire about the location, all I get is "We clear out the facility every night, it must be the distribution center." When the tracking itself shows it didn't leave their facility (when it's actually scanned) until several days after drop off. This has caused a cancellation of the customers order / refund on multiple occasions. I made a decision to stand in line and have them scan every box when this started to become more and more common, and the issue temporarily ceased. One day, the same lady with the brown hair informed me they are not allowed to scan orders into the system, that I have to just drop them off, so I asked her make sure these go out. Sure enough, all 8 packages I sent that day didn't ship until 3 days later. At this point, I decided it's worth it to drive the 10 miles there and back to the 84115 post office every day. If you are just dropping some letters off, this post office is convenient, and the management is nice, albeit very unhelpful. If you are doing high volume shipping, avoid this location like the plague. read more

This Post Office does not care about their customers with emphasis on Paula. I called and explained I had 2 pkgs to be delivered according to my informed delivery and I only rec'd one email for one pkg delivered. I saw the relief mailman go back and check lockers. When he left I went over and did find 2 pkgs. I rely on my emails to see what has been delivered. I am handicapped so I can only make one trip to the mailboxes, When I got there there was a key to the locker below and this is the third time they gave me a key that did not open the locker. I had a couple people try it to make sure. I called Paula back and she was rude as can be and did not even want to listen to what I said. She said "well I am not going to call him back. Just leave a note" This is exactly why people prefer other means of box deliveries. I should be able to get my pkgs and now I have to wait until Monday. I left notes before about key not working and it was 5 days before it was taken care of and here we are again. Shame on Paula for being so rude. I even explained I was handicapped and she could care less. I don't know what her position is at this Sandy Post Office but she needs to be replaced. read more

STAY away from the Sandy Post Office branch. Right when I walked up the passport counter, the woman (I wished I took take her name) said that she couldn't help me because I don't have an appointment. I told her my last name and I do have appointment at 3:20 PM. She said "Are you sure that you're been waiting this line?". I replied " of course this is the line that I've been waiting for the last 10-15 minutes now". Then she suggested that I should make another appointment. She left her station and came back with a paper for next week appointment. Then she put up a "Closed" sign then walked away. On the way home, I looked up the appointment paper and noticed that she spelled my last name correctly. How can she possibly knows my last name just by hearing me saying it? BTW, I have a non-American last name. I called back the office half hour later and talked to a different woman. The woman admitted that I do have the appointment and she apologized for the incidence. I can only concluded that she deliberately lied to us so that she could take off work early? My wife and I took off work early to take our daughter for renewing her passport. This is such an unpleasant experience and wasted of our time. I am planning to file a formal complaint with the USPS.
