I went to her office thinking I had all the necessary papers, and then discovered I was missing the title. While I searched for it in the glove box (spoiler: it wasn't in there), she went to my former state's DMV site and started filling out the request for a duplicate title "just in case." She printed it out for me and gave me excellent advice on what to do while I was waiting to get the duplicate titled mailed to me. Her excellent service continued when I was finally able to return with all the needed documents in hand, plus the cash payment. For all PennDOT transactions, it's cash only. She even lent me a screwdriver to put my PA plate on the car immediately. As Notary Now Plus is a one-person operation, you may need to wait. There is a small waiting area, with no TV or Muzak blaring. Soft drinks are available at a reasonable price; she also stocks envelopes of various sizes, which is a thoughtful touch and again, very reasonably priced. Barbara's very professional and also empathetic. I was actually looking forward to my second trip, to complete the transaction. Compared to other estimates I received for the service, her fee is very reasonable, and her exceptional customer service adds even more value. I then asked if I could leave the box on the side of the counter or on the floor (pushed to the side) so I could run out to the car and grab my tape, they stated I am not allowed to do that because they cannot be responsible for my package. While I understood that, I asked if they could please make a one time exception being that the box was a struggle to bring in, and my car is just right outside the facility; the answer was still no. At this point, it's about 4-5 mins before closing, I brought the box out to the car, wrapped it in tape like spider-man would wrap you in webs. It wasn't necessarily the taping that took up most of the time, but rather the transportation of the box itself. Once I got back into the store, it was about one minute before close. Another person before me was finishing up as I walked back in, I got to the counter and I was told they cannot service me with shipping my box because they're now closed. I asked if they could please allow me to ship it as it was literally the last day I had available before a move out of state, and he said "No". I had visited this store in particular because of their hours and convenience..or so I thought. These guys here are just merciless in the fact that they watched me have a hard time and seemed to have never had the intentions of being of service to begin with. I understand it's a busy location, but projecting any frustrations that come with such, onto people is unacceptable. Abusing your power is inhumane, shadowed by undertones of disrespect and then passing it off as just doing your job. Please keep in mind that parking, or lack-there-of, is like playing a game of duck-duck-goose. Which was what partly left me with that 15 min time slot, as I circled around the block countless times to catch a spot close enough to make it possible for me to bring that box in. Had I not gotten that spot, there would've been no way I could carry it into the store from a longer distance. They sent us a check for $150. So, unless your move went well or goes well, it will cost you even more to fix and replace items if they are damaged or broken. They also charge by the hour. From our old house to our new house it's about a 45 minute drive. Took them well over 2 hours to get here which they charged us for and then added an additional hour for travel. There were three men on our job, 1 worked like a dog, 1 spent a lot of time on the truck and didn't really carry much out, and the third spent at least an hour watching planes in the sky, so money well spent on him. My husband and dad carried more out of the house than 2 of the movers. It seemed like a good price when they quoted before the move but in the end I wish we would have looked around more because we wasted a lot of money with them.
