Demetrius clearly has a "get stuff done" attitude and it makes sense that he's a lead on the moving teams. They were both so nice and deserve all the rewards for walking up and down 3 floors at place # 1 just to come do it again at place #2. I agreed to this knowing it may adjust for tip and incidentals. My final bill came to $1450 which I was NOT expecting. There was a service fee for fuel and other things but the move was literally a tiny apartment to a small house 5 minutes away. I'm not happy at ALL about that price jump. I can't say I would recommend this company. I would tell people with simple and easy moves to just go straight to your local movers. It could save you up to $500. They weren't even able to move a big piece of furniture and now I have to disassemble it myself and move it myself. I had scheduled my move 2 months in advance. reached out the week of after emails said call to confirm, which I did and was assured everything was on track. 10pm the night before my 8am move I get email that my move has been canceled. I was shocked. I put a deposit down and was assured no issue. I called first thing in the morning. While on the phone I was charged the remaining balance for my already canceled move. $1,200 gone! I could only get through to an AI operator and was getting emails that they would call me. it was 6 days before I got my refund but I had to pay someone else an emergency fee for short notice at a lot more money. they have yet to respond. Several weeks in advance, we scheduled a large and time-sensitive move from the place we're moving out of to a shipping pod that will reach our new home. The shipping pod has a limited time window for dropoff. We're paying for the shipping pod and the quote was a couple thousand dollars. OUR MOVERS SIMPLY DID NOT SHOW UP ON MOVE DAY. This is the day we paid a deposit for. This is the day we booked. We had them scheduled to arrive between 2 and 3PM. We got a QR code the night before so they could scan it when they arrive. They just never showed up. When 2:30 rolls around, we call support to check in that someone's on the way. We cannot contact anyone. 3PM, still unable to reach anyone who can provide a reason or a solution. We were on the phone and sending emails until 9PM and they only could offer help the next day. Being backed into a corner and needing movers, we requested additional time with the shipment facility and re-scheduled with Bellhops. Quotes from next-day movers are of course much more expensive than a move we planned weeks in advance. Movers showed up the next day (later than promised) and did move our things. I come to find that BELLHOPS IS CHARGING US MORE MONEY FOR THE NEXT DAY MOVE THAN THE PRICE QUOTED FOR THE DAY BEFORE. This NOT A RUSH MOVE. The only reason this is a next-day booking is because BELLHOPS MESSED UP and is failing to be accountable for this. I was offered $100 off as "appeasement" which is the word they used on several occasions. We took two full days off work. $100 compensation after several hundred were added to the bill is robbery and a slap in the face. Calling it appeasement like I'm being unreasonable is incredibly disrespectful. Moving is stressful enough. Dealing with unethical behavior like this should not have to be coupled with it. A few years ago, we had successful and pleasant moves with Bellhops. Support was contactable, movers showed up on time, everything got done and everyone has happy. This is why we scheduled with them again. Very big mistake. Since then, so many processes have been "automated" by a dysfunctional dashboard, glitching chat bots, and AI voice calls that are just incapable of solving problems. To reach a real human has taken hours and hours of calling and emailing, which is not something the user is getting paid to do. When we do get a response, it's been later than promised and a response only enough to punt the problem for the next scheduled contact which doesn't happen when promised again. We've been on hold for hours and hours and the music combined with the stress is enough to drive anyone to anger. The dashboard malfunctions more often than not and directs the user to contact customer support. The customer support wait line says the hold time is 4 or 5 minutes. Consistently, it was longer than 20 and then is directed to voice mail. The voice mail did not seem to be monitored. We did not get resolution to our problem after several calls. The only way to reach a human is to call sales. They will then try to put you on hold or send you back through the black hole of customer support that has not solved our problem. What a horrible experience that is still not resolved. BELLHOPS NEEDS TO CONTACT US and give us money back for the move they promised us, we agreed to pay for, and never happened. We tried to book a larger truck or a 2nd truck given the size of our house. We were told that since we had booked a crew for 8 hours there would be plenty of time to go back (3 miles) and get the rest of our belongings. We get to the new place, they put almost everything in 2 rooms then say that they're not allowed to make second trips. So they leave us with (heavy) furniture at our old house, leave 5 hours earlier than what we booked them for and didn't move our furniture to the rooms where we needed it (I'm staring at 2 bookshelves in our kitchen right now). Bellhop Ripoff! My advice to you is to ABSOLUTELY NEVER use Bellhop Moving! I hired them to move me on September 4 , 2021 and the entire experience was and continues to be horrible and frustrating. The day began promising , when the Moving truck arrived at the scheduled time. However, things took a quick about face when the Driver told me that his helpers would be showing up soon , but didn't arrive until an hour later. They then told me that they had forgotten to bring any plastic shrink wrap with them, so they needed to run out to get some ...A few of the crew then took off in search of the wrap and didn't return for about two hours , because they claimed that several of the stores that they went to were out of it . The so-called "supervisor" even suggested that I should maybe just reschedule the move to another date. I told him that that wasn't possible because I was selling the house and I needed to move now in order to get things done before my Closing . Unfortunately , the experience just went from bad to worse at that point . I'm not sure if it was because the crew was inexperienced or if they just didn't want to be there , but they just tossed all of my furniture and personal belongings haphazardly in to a pile in the back of their truck. There was no care or professionalism used at all . I'm not really sure why they even made the big production about the plastic wrap , because they barely even used it , which caused many of my things to get damaged . The worst damage that they did was to my sectional couch (that I bought brand new 2 years earlier for $2,500 and have kept in pristine condition). The managed to break the frame in a few areas , ripped the fabric in a few others and got grease and dirt on it in several areas. I filed a claim with their Corporate office and I received the response that they would offer me $90 for the damage . Our team of pros was excellent! They were friendly, patient, courteous, and professional. They were creative in figuring out how to move complex items. They took time to ask us questions to make sure everything was in the right place. They handled both build and take down of several items including parts of a large treadmill. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the price, they were great but I still believe $250 an hour was a bit steep and, to my knowledge, the clock doesn't stop with transit time (for the price we wish it did, as an accident and construction doubled transit time between our locations). If I find the clock did stop, I'll update my review. Either way, while we would need to budget better (Bellhop was our steepest quote but had the most availability) we would definitely book our pros again! read more

I'm pretty disappointed because they quoted me for me apartment and storage unit. The inventory was correct. The truck could only fit what was in my apartment. So I paid the full amount for them to only do my apartment. If I had known I'd have to do another truck I would have gone with one of 2 other companies that in total was more than Bellhop but now are much less that Bellhop for 2 different deliveries. My dining room table and chairs got pretty scuffed up, but that's is one thing we didn't wrap because they said they had blankets. Everything else was ok. They were on time for everything. Destroyed a cherished armoire and several other values pieces of furniture by apparently ignoring using the various rags, cloths and means of padding that WE provided them...the armoire door was "caved-in" (and no longer closes the same) by stacks of boxes poorly placed in the cube unit. The stacked boxes also scuffed the color off the door. An antique table got deeply gouged that clearly should have had some kind of covering got placed upside-down on another expensive wood surface ...scratches, scuffs, things that could have easily been avoided. Reported these claims as soon as we saw them where we moved but because BH enforces this technicality/ limitation rule that you have to report these claims 5 days after the service was performed, they said they're unable to help us. One of the most traumatizing experiences of my life. They were inexperienced and lazy and untrained. They damaged everything from mirrors, to dressers to an antique hand painted desk we were willed. They did not cover or wrap anything. Their dolly consisted of 2 x4 pieces of wood on wheels...my husband caught them wheeling our diningroom table like a tire.It is completely ruined. Chunks of wood are missing and the top is scratched. It's garbage now. I had a brand new fireplace TX stand, scratched and little pieces of wood are missing...3 damaged mirrors totaling 800.00 and the list goes on. I cried for days and couldn't sleep. Wow. I wish we had had any of the numerous amazing Bellhops that everyone has seemed to have had. Well done on such amazing moves! Just a little jealous tbh. My move went nothing like those. I will preface with this though, I use moving companies 2-4 times every year and this was the first time since 2014 that I have NOT used 2 Men and a Truck and boy have I learned a harsh lesson. My move started out with all of the niceties one could possibly as for when hiring a new company to get your business. Everyone was so accommodating on the telephone and "yes sir" and "of course sir". Perfect. Skip forward to the moving truck arriving 30 minutes early and how excited I was! OMG this is great! Starting early! No. Not even close. The driver does not move anything. Hmm... Seems like a waste of an able body. 30 minutes later the team leader arrives and calls from downstairs asking if he should come upstairs..? Well yes. How do you plan on getting the furniture down? Quick side note: There was a total of 7 pieces including an Ikea section, a large glass desk (as specified when speaking to the CSR on the telephone) with large sawhorse legs, an empty nice stand, a marble top side table, a vintage cart coffee table, an antique trunk and a 8x10 rolled rug. The Lead Bellhop, which appeared to be a very rotund man standing at 6'2 and weighing in around 300 lbs and his shorter, more muscular sidekick took the top off the desk and placed it against the wall and began taking the remaining items to the truck. With everything in the truck except the glass top of the table, the Lead Bellhop says to me that the glass top is too heavy and that they will have to leave it and I will have to make alternate arrangements to get the top to where it needs to go. Not acceptable. What do you mean it is too heavy? I have moved it many times before on my own. It has only been within the last few years that I have had the opportunity to hire movers and not have to actually move anything myself. According to the large lead bellhop, they are only allowed to lift a maximum of 100 lbs each. Ah, ok. NO! I moved the desk twice around Atlanta then from Atlanta to Raleigh to Atlanta to WSS to Morgantown and 3 times in Pittsburgh. I was able to calculate the weight of the top by using the glass type and dimensions to get the total weight in at 206.64 lbs. It was as if neither of the movers were able to add 3.32 lbs to lift one of seven items. Needless to say, 2 Men and a Truck #4LIFE UPDATE: Bellhops offered a "credit" toward the move that never happened. I gladly accepted and expected top notch movers, which I got! Jared, Ed and Cam were kickass and did a fantastic job. Quick and efficient. Here comes the bad news. The move started at 3pm and was slated to end by 7pm. The moving truck broke down as it was getting ready to head to the drop off location. It was broken down for 2.5 hours and Bellhops charged me for the entire time! First off, how can you justify charging $163 per HOUR for moving? Additionally, they put the charge on the wrong credit card after I had called and spoke with Katelyn giving her the correct card info. So I was overcharged by $407.50 because the attitude I encountered when calling was, "It's not our problem" bc Austin, the CSR, said he was not aware that the truck was busted even after I watched the team leader call to inform customer service and the driver spoke with operations. We are now stuck in a terrible situation where we need to either hire movers day of (not gonna happen) or rent a uhaul and do it all ourselves (not looking forward to that). Horrendous planning on their part! We planned a move on a Saturday from our 2BR apt to a 3BR house. We also had furniture in storage for the house. For a week, we moved ALL the small stuff leaving 2 beds, 3 dressers, a desk, 4 assorted tables... that's it. We asked for 4 movers @ 8am and expected the entire move (3miles away, storage facility was en route) to take 6hrs. The guys showed up a tad late @ 8:30, only 2 movers. It took almost 3hrs to load the apt (kinda slow due to missing 2 movers). We drove to the storage ahead of the truck to start setting up the storage loading and got a call that they had a hard stop @ 2pm for another move... idiot planners!!!! How about delaying the second move? How about finishing our move THE NEXT DAY? How about planning for contingencies? Who's fault is it that the apt took so long? Not ours, we were more than ready @ 8am. The dispatch office offered to complete our move, a WEEK later, and give us a 10% discount... insulting. I start to feel super anxious and panicky. I talk to the 'lead' who is still there and say I can call my girlfriend, we can do it with you. The truck is here, you are here. He says no, something about not wanting my girlfriend participating because she just got a Covid vaccine shot, which I mentioned. I said fine, let's just do it you I. I'll just figure out whatever happens with my back issues. I just have to be out of there that day. He says no again, and gives some reason I can't remember, and some excuse that didn't really make sense to me. Then he said, "I have to leave this job site". What??? He just keeps talking but it's pointless. At this point I was angry, upset, and wanted to cry. I had one day to move everything I own with no truck, no help, no people, no plan. What if I can't get out? Pay another month rent? What about the new tenant moving in? Do they get screwed too? I called everyone I knew and offered $50 an hour to come immediately. 3x people did, thank god I have reliable friends. Uhaul had ONE truck that I could get immediately. I ended up getting it done, but my back is in extreme pain now and I don't know how long it will last. I had to pay, even emotionally. It was so stressful to be hung to dry, and it's just beyond unacceptable for a company. If they couldn't find a team, how were we supposed to on two days notice? So we had to give a deposit to hold our spot but they had no reason to keep our reservation. As I frantically called every mover in the city to find a replacement (they were all booked), I heard more than once that they'd already been contacted by someone who had been cancelled on by Bellhops. 2 very opposite experiences with the same provider in the same locality in a space of 1 year. A year (and a month) back - great experience moving in to a rented Apt in Upper St Clair PA - went for Bellhop based on friends recommendation - fantastic team, great service and smooth move in in the middle of pandemic. Fast Forward by a year - moving to new home - cant think of another service provider than Belllhop (BTW, been a regular promoter, reviewer for Bellhop in the meantime and recommended to a few friends as well). Jan 2022 - careless team of movers, major damages etc. Still hopeful that it will be compensated in a timely manner. Here's where the reality strikes --- filed a claim, wait for 2 weeks - claim processing team asks for additional info, respond back on same day, wait for another week - no updates - call back customer support and be told we never received your response. Resent emails, waited on phone line to ensure this time they get it - yes they do and they promise claim will be settled in 48 hours. After 48 hours I receive an email with link to my settlement details, but whoa link in attachment has an empty form. Send response with screenshot and call customer support and let them know (cant trust them reading their email responses any more). More promises - settlement before end of day, and yet another email ---- but whoa , another email with link to my settlement details, but link in attachment has an empty form. Long story short --- still no clue about compensation, but struggling to at least bring this appeal to the attention of some one responsible within the organization. First off, if you purchased a Yelp voucher, you must call/email them to apply the voucher code before you pay online; there is no section on the payment page to enter the code. Overall it was a good experience with a few minor recommendations for improvement. First, understand that the truck driver is an outside hire and not an employee of Bellhops. He did not bring enough blankets to protect my furniture, and the movers asked if I had any of my own to use. Having already packed up my apartment I had to scramble to find alternate solutions (rugs, towels, a blanket from my car). The furniture was fine after the move, just wished they had arrived better equipped; I would recommend to the Bellhops movers to keep an extra blanket or two in their cars just in case. Secondly, I had my carpets cleaned at my new place the day before but sadly one of the movers had mud on their shoes and tracked it in even though I had rugs and towels by the door to wipe their feet. I was able to clean it up, but wish they used those shoe covers upon entering the house. Other than that things went fine and the movers worked well together; no damage on anything and they finished well within the allotted time frame. They canceled on us last minute twice. Literally last minute, my coming in the house and then leaving to go cancel. Had to go with another moving company in the end. Sure the liaisons that coordinate your move are professional. But the lead movers were out side after cancelling joking about "how they don't get paid enough" and "they could not wait to enjoy their day off". I get not every person is going to enjoy every day of their job, just be professional enough and smart enough to say this after you leave your job. read more

STAY AWAY. I did my research on the company and did see a couple negative reviews but thought they might be a "one off" experience or hard to please customers. The price was great and about $100 less than the other companies. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Only ONE bellhop showed up for the job. The company called me multiple times and said that they were sending someone else while the ONE guy was moving everything out of my building. Eventually another Bellhop did show up..for about 45 minutes.. rushed and stressed me out even more and when I got the bill I saw they charged me for him being there for two hours. The ONE bellhop that was there from the beginning had one more run to make. He had dragged my mattress out in the hall way of my apartment building and said he would be right back. When the mover didn't come back after an hour I went to look for him. The mover and the truck driver were NO WHERE in sight. My furniture was sitting out on a VERY BUSY road with the truck door open. The ONE bellhop that showed up JUST UP AND LEFT. My mother and I had to drag my mattress back inside of my apartment and I had to sit outside to make sure no one was stealing literally all of my belongings. During the lull of...an hour..hour and a half...of not knowing where the truck driver was and realizing that the mover just BAILED an ambulance showed up at my apartment building and the truck was blocking the cop and paramedics from the easiest access to the patient. Eventually about two hours later the company sent two more bellhops out and they were able to finally finish the job. It took the company 10 hours to move out of a 600 sq ft studio. The truck was loaded terribly and it looked like the boxes marked fragile were purposely thrown around..they were dented and some of the belongings inside were broken. The company charged me for 10 hours of bellhops and 10 hours of moving. At first they told me they would take off the price of the truck....I refuse to pay for 10 hours of moving when it should have taken three hours AT MOST. It was not my fault that the company has unreliable employees. After multiple phone calls and added stress by bill was "discounted" and ended up paying way too much for this NIGHTMARE of a move. Honestly just look through the reviews...every other review shows an issue or a bell hop not showing up. Please learn from my experience and hire a different moving company. Overall, my moving experience with Bellhops was mostly positive. First and foremost, communication was excellent. Over-the-phone customer support leading up to the move was always transparent, very helpful, patient and friendly. I also received periodic updates via email. My lead bellhop was also in contact with me the day before the move and updated me about the status of things throughout the process. As for the move itself; the lead bellhop arrived on schedule, although the other bellhop arrived a bit later and the truck was about 30 minutes late. I was informed that the time would not be counted until after the truck arrived--although for some reason, this was not reflected in the initial billed amount (more on that later). The bellhops were courteous and generally careful with my belongings, which I greatly appreciated. The move took a bit longer than expected, but they made sure everything was moved in before leaving for their next appointment. As I mentioned earlier, when going over my bill confirmation I wanted to know the exact starting and end times of the move, and so I contacted customer support once again. They were very willing to give me the information, and asked me for details regarding the move to insure that I was not over-charged for labor time that did not take place; they quickly corrected the bill for me, with no hassle. I used Bellhops this weekend for a move and I ordered 3 movers to arrive at 11am. At 11:03 I get a call from Bellhops that one mover is on the way but that the other 2 are no longer coming and they are trying to find a 2nd mover but I definitely won't be getting the 3rd. The guy on the phone said that there was nothing he could do but he would apply a discount to my order (which he never did). A 2nd mover finally showed up after noon and things could finally start happening. The entire first hour was a waste because there was only one guy and he could only move small things and wait around. The move ended up taking way longer than it should have and in turn ended up costing more than my original estimate (even short a mover). I was also never given the discount that was promised for the inconvenience. I wouldn't recommend. read more

Apparently, due to staffing issues, my reservation was canceled - 3 DAYS before my expected move. Bellhops wanted to reschedule for 8/2 at 11am. Unfortunately, that's not an option. I don't care to write bad reviews on businesses that didn't do well usually, I literally made this yelp account for this review because I am praying for some level of accountability. If you don't want to read all below just know, that if you book with Bellhop, it is within their policy to tell you at the moment of the booked appointment that they will no longer help you - their words not mine. Their policy is that they can bail on you at any time. If that's what you want during a big move, then you're at the right place. My partner and I moved across the country and had booked 2-3 movers from Bellhop weeks prior to our arrival. The day of, only ONE guy (albeit a nice guy) showed up and said, "This is too much for just me to do." and subsequently left. This left us with no movers and two moving containers that were going to be picked up by Uhaul 24 hours later. We tried to explain to them that this really screwed us and they said THEY DO NOT EVER GUARANTEE. So, if you put a deposit down for something as time specific and stressful as moving into an empty apartment, their policy is that they can screw you over and bail with a moment's notice and are relieved of any responsibility. More importantly, I'm seeing a lot of yelp reviews saying "wow they let us book super last minute!" and I'm now realizing that they don't give a shit about their word (even when money has already been given to them) and will take on new customers whilst literally leaving the previous bookings high and dry. I've worked in customer service for over a decade, I'm all for being understanding when mistakes happen. The thing is, this wasn't a mistake from their perspective and they refused to take any responsibility. I wish I were exaggerating. EDIT: I am seeing them respond to many reviews sharing the same experience as mine by saying, "This is rare! We always fulfill orders!"
