Never been to this post office before, but I had no choice as it's the closest one near work. Popped in during lunch to send off a little surprise to a good friend on the East Coast. There's a little gas station that's closer to me, but the USPS drop off inside didn't have the small priority boxes. This is a pretty large post office. There are tons of P.O. boxes. They did have self-service machine where you can handle most transactions yourself, but I was disappointed that the send package option was not currently working. That's pretty much the only reason I dropped a star. Rich seemed to be the only employee working the counter at the time, but he was quick and got us out in no time. There were 5 of us in line. When it was my turn, he asked the usual questions about the box I was mailing (any liquids perishables, etc.) and then asked if I wanted to purchase a book of stamps. I politely declined but was curious to know how much a single stamp is nowadays (I haven't sent snail mail in a loooooong time)!! He said the current rate is $.78 per stamp and that there's talk about the price hiking up to ninety-something cents in the future. Yikes!!! I remember when they were a quarter each!! My, how times have changed... Anyway, I'd definitely return to this Scottsdale location. There's a good size parking lot outside although I can imagine it getting packed during the holidays. 4 solid stars! read more

If loyalty points existed for post offices, I'd be platinum by now. Listen... support your local post office, people. I walked in today and found myself behind at least a dozen humans who all had that same "I swear this will be quick" look on their face. And yet? The staff up front.. same guys, every time... were absolute zen masters holding the line together with patience, courtesy, and a level of customer-service stamina I honestly think deserves a medal or at least a parade. This place moved to its current location ages ago (I still call it "the new one," don't judge me), but the energy has stayed the same: friendly, calm, efficient, and somehow unbothered by the fact that we all show up with the most chaotic mail situations imaginable. I walked in with a stack of envelopes, addressed to everyone..., and the gentleman helping me (I ought to know his name by now) didn't so much as double blink. Different recipients, same address? Weird postage situations? Random questions? Not a single sign of irritation. Not even the micro-eye-twitch. Nothing. Professionals. I've had to call, I've had to come in for issues, I've even had the occasional "address forwarding plot twist," but these folks always handle everything with kindness and actual problem-solving skills. Competitors who? I trust my postal guys. Always have. This isn't my assigned post office anymore, but guess what? I'm still loyal. Because when you find a place that treats you right, listens, holds space for your mailing disasters, and sends your chaos into the world with a smile.... you keep coming back. Five stars. Katherine was amazing both times I went there. I showed up for my kids appointment without my wife she was really nice. Explained why they needed to have both parents there which I was not aware of and then my wife went back later on to get her passport done. She's awesome. Great service. read more

Katherine was the rudest person I have ever had to encounter at 9am to get my 1 year olds passport. Belittling everyone that walked in, talking down to me as I was trying to fill out the form, and overall ZERO customer service. Sad that she is in a customer facing role. Go anywhere else. read more

Went in for my new passport. Had made an appointment earlier in the month. The passport office is at the far back (west) side of the building, just follow the signs. There was about 10 people in front of me, and only one guy doing all the work. But hats off to him...he was so efficient, really friendly and helpful with everyone there. I have never gone when there wasn't a line though, so PLEASE make sure to go when you have time to wait so you are nice and not grumpy to the staff just because you're in a rush! :) There are typically not many working the desk at a time to no fault of their own so if you go and have patience for the line you will be in good hands! We popped by this post office earlier this morning to complete the daunting task of applying for our passports before our vacation in October. We've been putting this off forever, but were getting down to the wire and needing to get this done. Upon entering, Kathrine, the star of the passport office, asked us to show her our paperwork. She assessed the situation and confirmed that I was good to go, but my mom would need to redo her paperwork. She answered all of our questions and got our paperwork and pictures and checks (and, and, and) sorted quickly and seamlessly. Oh, and did I mention she did this on a Saturday morning with us not having an appointment? Yeah. She's that good. All the while, Kathrine was chatting with us about family and our upcoming travels. So many new people and no one seems to know about the Hashknife Pony Express for January 2025. There is usually a big 50 gallon yellow drum for collection of mail to go through the Pony Express. Most employees that work there were fairly new and didn't even know about it. What is going on? Please get this cleared up. Passport application review: We came here to renew a minor's passport. Appointment is available via website but they may take walk in if they are not too busy. Staff speaks English and Spanish and she was assisting Spanish speaking family when we arrived. Photo is available on site. Be sure to bring a check book to pay for the passport. Credit card is accepted for their handling fee. We were well prepared when we arrived but not all of them are. She was accommodating very nicely to those came in unprepared. Scottsdale's main Post Office has everything you are expecting in a Post Office. From boxes to selling tape this location has the supplies needed to ship an package. They sell stamps and even sell seasonal holiday cards. Lines are usually around 10 people deep and move relatively quickly. Postal workers are friendly and helpful. As Scottsdale's Main Post Office, it has the longest hours for date sensitive, mailing events like tax day. My biggest complaint is that for an old building converted into a Post Office in the last decade, they really missed out on making the building special. The exposed beams on the high arched ceiling are the same eggshell white as every interior wall and ceiling in the building. I know it doesn't make the lines move quicker, but having some of the architectural features painted a different color would make waiting in line much more enjoyable. Anything would be better than standing and what feels like a envelope white, scuffed up, generic government building. read more

They lost my package twice I called multiple people and they never responded and when they did they said they would call me back and never did and then said they would hold onto my package on the side and they never did so now they lost another one of my packages and was terrible service overall. read more

Beyond horrendous Service. It's the middle of the day, literally, and we wanted to ship something, but there wasn't a single employee on the premises to help us. We are a business in Old Town since 2002. Until last year, we had very good service. Both yesterday and today, we have had no deliveries. The same is true for the shop next door. No one will answer your call. When an employee does answer they seem to not be able help you because they are not infront of a computer. Melissa answered my call after calling several times and after saying she was not infront of a computer put me on hold for 45 MIN. Also why does the recording line need to be 2 minutes long before they actually direct your call to the office. Does no one work anymore???? read more

This post office continually shows packages delivered when they never arrived. I have not received a package correctly in 2 years from USPS. Only the regular letters arrive correctly. Any parcel larger than the mailbox is discarded or confiscated by delivery team. Sad read more

I had an appointment scheduled and was waiting patiently & someone came in and she helped that person before me knowing I was waiting and had an appointment. Katherine at the passport office has been very helpful on multiple occasions! I have been in three times in the past year dealing with having to get a new passport before it expired, then name changed by marriage, and now they incorrectly put the wrong name on my new passport! Therefore, I had to make my third trip in to straighten it out! Katherine has been nothing but helpful and so knowledgeable with this process! I will be sending friends and family her way! She will even take a picture for you! Instead of going to CVS or Walgreens! And let me tell you, the lighting is so much better! read more

Firstly, no one picks up the phone. The number just rings and rings no matter what department you are trying to reach. Next, my partner went to this office this morning for a passport appointment. He was early. He was told to do some paperwork. Nothing crazy. However, the lady there, Kathy, was a Karen. This is not a comparison I make lightly. She insulted him, asked him about going to college (of course after bragging about her own children's college achievements!) and asked him if he could read at an 8th grade reading level. He became upset and asked to speak to a superior. She told him she would delay his passport and application. This is super unprofessional, and I do not know how the other reviewer had such a great time with Kathy aka Karen. Maybe she just had a bad day, but to insult someone, speak down to them, and threaten/try to delay their passport is ridiculous. P.s. Probably one of the worst I've been to. While the building itself is decent... the postal service here is doing Scottsdale a disfavor because unless you are picking up mail from a private box, it's entirely pointless & worthless. Their self-service machine is constantly out of service. You cannot purchase postage or print labels. It's entirely useless. Want packaging materials? There are none. Besides a couple of damaged flat-rate boxes someone else probably discarded. The entire stand of packaging materials is empty. The only thing you can really do at this location is check your private box or throw trash away. Don't even bother. read more

Extremely lazy workers. They won't put small items in parcel lockers. You have to go to the window to pickup and wait in line. The reason why is because it takes more effort to put individual items in parcel lockers instead of just dumping it in the back. read more

I almost found out first hand what the true definition of "going postal" meant today when I stopped by this post office... Several weeks ago, I came across one of those notices you get in the mail that says 'certified' or something like that... but unfortunately since no one was home to sign for it, the little post card said that I had to take it into the post office to pick up my mail. Ugh! Who wants to go to the post office to pick something up that they don't even know what it is let alone may not even want? So, needless to say, I procrastinated... but finally, today I had a few minutes to spare and decided to head over to the local post office to pick up my special mail. There must've been 20 people in there doing the same thing. The line was almost out the door! And there were only 3 people working so the line was moving slower than molasses. It didn't help that it was after 1pm and I hadn't eaten lunch so I was hungry! But I waited it out, and the girl that finally helped me was sweet and found my mail... and luckily it was good mail, not bad mail so it made the trip worth it! On top of that, I bought a sheet of cute heart stamps so now I have stamps to use when I need them! Props to the US Postal service for doing a good job in getting us our mail but I can't give you more than 3 stars this time! read more

I haven't received mail in almost a month despite 2 tickets (the first was marked as resolved after one day, i was told I have mail when I do not), multiple attempts of phone calls (nobody ever answers), a ticket with the BBB and 2 requested re-deliveries on packages. This is now my 2nd and 3rd package to go missing and I've had my last ticket open for over a week with zero response that anyone is handling it. I did my address change before I moved, I put the slip in my mailbox 2 weeks ago, my latest ticket is untouched and I not to. I just want my mail. This is so frustrating. If you wouldn't treat your own family this way I do not understand why you would do it to anyone else. Just desperately trying anything to get this resolved at this point. read more

This USPS location is a bit of a mixed bag -- almost always long lines, but friendly and (somewhat) quick service... occasionally even with a smile! I have been to this location quite a few times... and my biggest complaint (besides the consistently long lines) is that the relatively few parking spaces located near the entrance seem to usually be occupied. But hey, we live in paradise, so a short sunny walk never hurt anyone, right?
