I have been coming to this post office branch for over 15 years. I used to look forward to it as the staff is very nice and friendly. I noticed the past couple of years at the lines are impossibly long at all times. I believe they may be understaffed. What's most upsetting to me is there is one employee who is so pushy. I once went in about half an hour after they closed to use the self-service machine and he literally made me stop mid-transaction and leave because he "wanted to go home'. I would expect that he would offer his help to help me finish my transaction more quickly. At least 50% of the time the machine does not read the QR codes. I either have to try the transaction multiple times or I have to enter the tracking number manually which invariably generates an error. Another time I walked in and granted it was one minute before closing but the doors were still open and he actually walked me back out after I was inside. Is it my fault that he didn't lock the doors when they were supposedly closed? I find it extremely frustrating. I have a job during business hours and often have to rush there just before closing. Because of these recent experiences I find myself looking for any other shipment service that I prefer to use instead. They're also open longer hours. read more

Nice, but the girl named Bianca or something with a B literally told me they don't print shipping labels. I have no words for this but it felt like lazy customer service... You might as well not hire clerks anymore and just do self-service if you want the customer to do the job. At another local post office they were willing to print a shipping label it just happened that their system went down, same day too. She ended up helping someone else with a big box. All I had was a small package. I was disappointed so I ended up shipping through UPS. read more

I like this Post Office because they have a stamp machine, which is easy & convenient. The lobby is well kept and always stocked with postal supplies. The P.O. Boxes are easy to access and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. There is a small parking lot on the side (off the alley) and 20-minute parking out front. read more

This has to be my favorite Post Office! It looks small from the outside, but it looks nice and well kept. I came here for picking packages up, shipping items out, getting stamps, etc. Parking can be found around the streets. Its across from Fiore Market Cafe a fabulous place to stop and get a sandwich and side salads. read more

I've rented a box here for over 15 years. The place is clean and safe, and access to your mail is available 24/7. They are great with the reminders for box renewals, and you can easily pay in line or at the self serve kiosk located in the lobby! Did you know you can list a P.O. box as your address on your drivers license? Yep you can, and it adds some piece of mind if you ever lose your license, or just want to be private! The downfall would be trying to get a library card with your ID. But then again I don't like to read... The staff here are nice. It's not always the fastest service, but I can tell it's because they are giving each customer careful attention, instead of rushing them to move on. The counter hours are sketchy-so make sure you research or call before you go. It's 9:45 AM and it's not open yet. There is one guy here that literally puts me in a bad mood EVERY TIME I come here. Don't even think about asking this guy any questions. If you have a bunch of packages you prepaid for just come here and put them in the bin and go home. All the other people who work here are super nice except for one man who just literally ruins my day and for whatever reason I always end up getting him. Universe, what is the damn lesson here??? First time I go in there I wait in line and give this guy a bunch of prepaid labeled boxes. He blinks at me. I blink at him. He says that these are all Prepaid. I confirm. He tells me that I have to bring those boxes to the prepaid bin behind me and ridiculed me saying I didn't have to wait in line. I'VE NEVER BEEN TO THIS LOCATION. There is no sign visible. How am I supposed to know? Second time I go in there I want to mail something that's a bit heavy (2 pounds). At this point I'm still not well versed in shipping things (I am a pro now). I ask to ship in the cheapest manner available. He tells me cheapest is priority by weight and charges me over $25. I now obviously know I could've shipped it in a flat rate box (even a medium sized one) for way cheaper. Still, this would've been forgivable if he wasn't a big you know what while processing me. Third time I go in, I see the guy and someone else was behind me and he opens up so I let the person behind me go to him. No way I'm going to him ever again! Today I had one priority labeled box and I used my own brown box. I wanted to get a priority sticker to put on it to make it more obvious that it was priority. I go in. He is the only one there. No line. Decide to take my chances and ask him for the FREE PRIORITY STICKER. His response? "You already have A priority sticker on the box" I say,"I know but that's a label. I wanted the sticker to make it more obvious since I'm using a regular box." And instead of giving me the FREE STICKER he says, "it's the same thing. You don't need it." With the biggest attitude. So again if you want to ruin your day just ask this guy a question. read more

Won't allow small businesses to drop off their packages at the dock as they have always done. This is making shipping hundreds of packages to our customers incredibly inconvenient as you have to take all the packages in, wait in line because the container to dump packages is full, only to be told they don't have time to put a new one out so you have to wait longer. They refuse to provide bags or postal bins to bring packages in and staff is extremely rude and not willing to help. read more

Terrible customer service, I'm moving and trying to ship some items to my new address seeing as it's across the country and when I researched online shipping was the cheapest option. I just called to ask what the rates where and if what the cheapest option is but the person i talked to didn't know anything and said that he had to go check in the front. As I'm writing this review I am still on the phone waiting for the guy to come back and it's been over 25 minutes. I don't understand why it is so hard to answer to questions... The person answered the call immediately, and even if I took 5 minutes to ask the question(which only took a minute) I'm just put on hold for the most ridiculous amount of time. Update : I just hung up and called again and some other workers picked up and they were a lot faster and more helpful. read more

The drivers here like to go home early on friday, they scan all the packages as delivered and then they never make it to your door. Not sure what happens to them. They are replacing the old coin operated stamp machine with one that takes debit/credit card so you can buy any number of stamps, from just one stamp to... um emptying out the machine and your bank account! o_0; stamps ARE expensive. When I was there they were exactly in the middle of this machine replacement process, so I had to wait in line to buy just one stamp x_X doh! I come here all the time to mail off packages, it's a small office but the line moves fast. I create and print my own shipping labels via PayPal Multi-shipping, it's super easy and saves you the wait in line. One time I was off in my package's weight calculation and the post office guy helped me calculate the right amount of additional postage needed. After I was charged for the additional postage needed, the stamps were stuck on top of the label I created. I didn't have to make a new shipping label yay! Employees are all pretty nice and efficient, though a couple of them seem to be taking their sweet @$$ time. Maybe it's due to the unfairness of a tiered salary system or the nature of their work... I mean the term "going postal" was coined for a reason. =( It's okay, I appreciate you and thank all the postal people for consistently delivering my packages on time and in one piece. Quick Tip: If you are just there to pick up a package you don't have to wait in line. Just speak up and they will get a person in the back will help you out. read more

Worst customer service. Was able to park at 5:30 on the dot (on a Friday when they used to normally close at 6:00pm), ran to the lobby, and the guy at the lobby wouldn't let me in anymore! I asked if I could drop it off in the large bin where bigger packages go, and he said it had already been "cleaned up" for the day (meaning earlier than the posted 5:30 collection time). I just needed to quickly fix my package and drop it, he didn't help me at all, but instead told me if I'm done when he gets back, he'll take it. Guess what, he came back within 30 seconds or so, as if teasing me, and looked at me blankly as I hurriedly put together my package. Then shut the door without saying anything. I have had a P.O. Box at the South Pasadena location for over 30 years. Prior to Covid-19 the lobby was open 24/7. The lobby is now to open at 6AM. For the last several weeks, the front door has been locked at 7AM. I've noted that several other seniors and I, arise early, burn our gas to reach the post office, and struggle with arthritic knees to climb the stairs to the front door...only to find it LOCKED!!! If you have valuable packages, I recommend avoiding the South Pasadena USPS location. There are employees that are stealing packages. I frequently sell unique items on eBay, ranging from $100 to $8,000, and they offer discounted USPS rates. While the South Pasadena post office might seem convenient with a drop-off cart in the lobby, it's not secure. I placed two Priority Mail packages with insurance there, but they were never scanned in. When I inquired, they said that I must file a claim, but the insurance claim was denied because they had no proof of an employee scanning the package. My insurance claim was denied and I had to give my client a refund. So, I've learned to stand in line and request a receipt even for pre-paid postage. My recent visit had a similar issue, and despite my efforts of standing in line and receiving proof of receipt at the counter, my claim was denied. I suggest using the Alhambra USPS, which has been reliable for me, despite the slightly longer drive. My ONE star review would have been ZeRo, if that option was available. With that in mind, the single star is awarded to the friendliness of those working at the counter. read more

I really don't write reviews for government related facilities but I have written a couple reviews for post offices in the past. I was a bit surprised that i have yet to write one for this location because this is probably the one I frequent the most. I normally don't get that many parcels but my brother always have packages coming and who picks them up when no ones home? Yup, me. So I come here to pick up or send packages to friends living out of state. As for parking, if you can find street parking, you're lucky but if you can't, theres about 4-5 stalls on the left of post office building where you can enter from Fremont Avenue. I don't think a lot of people know about this small lot. But street parking is always almost available but just when you can't find one, remember to park here. This post office is always always always packed and busy. There's often long lines inside and I have zero patience but I have no choice but to wait. Also, it takes forever. People take so much time doing whatever they're doing so just know that you have enough time to wait. if you're in the rush and you're short on time, I suggest you come another day when you DO have enough time. Most of the clerks are polite and nice. I have not experienced anything negative from this location. Oh and just a tip, they do provide boxes for flat rate (priority) but PLEASE REMEMBER to bring your own TAPE and SCISSOR. They will make you buy tape and they're a bit overpriced as you are aware. read more

I come here mostly for business and this location doesn't disappoint. The counter staff recognize me and usually know I need 200 stamps or I'm sending something overnight. The line moves fairly quickly and there's one guy who's continually asking if someone is just picking up or needs something that the automated kiosk can provide. Parking sucks, but a bit of patience gets you a space. Besides, most customers are in there 5 minutes or less. It's a post office. While the need for snail mail has dwindled, it's nice to see that even a beat up, old place like this, still has people working who seem to care about you, the customer. Waited in a long line to mail my package. I don't mail packages regularly. I wrote the recipients address on the box to have it easily accessible for the clerk. I didn't have my name on the box. The clerk rudely said "you need to have the senders information too, go leave and figure it out" and shoved the box back in my face. So rude. He could of said it nicely or took 10 seconds to ask for my information as the sender. I understand they deal with the public all day and I'm sure it's frustrating but being unnecessarily rude is so gross. read more

I like this postal office, the workers are helpful and pleasant, both during the week, and the Saturday staff. They have always been stocked with the sizes of prepaid boxes that I've needed, which is really convenient, and a good deal, to boot. They don't do passport applications at this location anymore, but with the cuts and budget requirements the USPS is being put under by the federal government over the last decade, it's understandable, albeit a bit of a trek to Glendale, or another participatory post office. The building is beautiful, and has great lighting. While at peak times, there can be lines, the workers do a great job of moving people through, while also being thorough and attentive to customers' needs. The post office gets a tough break, but it's still a great deal, and it serves us, not corporate interests. read more

I do not like when I get a notification that an item has arrived but it really didn't. :( I found myself in a pickle when an anniversary gift was "delivered" but wasn't on my doorstep and when I checked our security camera, saw that the mail man did not drop off a package that day, I knew I had to contact the post office. Within a day, I received a call back from a postal worker with the name of the supervisor at South Pasadena Post Office. Evelin was so helpful and was able to track the package to another house where it was delivered to the wrong address. My mail man dropped it off to our house the same day!
