This isn't the best location. However, it's the one located closest to where I live. It's a small location, but the parking lot is not that small. However it fills up regularly to capacity. It's in a high traffic area too, so making turns into and out of the parking lot can be a pain. Usually the times I go vary. Typically there is only one employee working the counter. Even when two are working the lines move very slow and start at the counter and go all the way to the door. The lay out of items like boxes and labels isn't done particularly well either. There are one or two people who are really helpful and usually friendly, but that's it. If you don't need to, or have a lot of time. (Not on a lunch break) I wouldn't recommend coming to this location. read more

Possibly the worst post office branch in Stamford. I've been here just after 9am on multiple occasions during the week and find the doors locked with no one inside. Was here this morning on a Monday at 10am and the manager was just unlocking the doors! There were people outside waiting to get in. And this is a very busy branch located very close to I-95 and several office parks in the southern part of Stamford. Incredible. read more

I have always had good experiences with post offices and USPS employees ... until encountering this location. My husband and I lived temporarily in Stamford, after selling our NJ home and while waiting for our MA condo to be completed. We had a PO box at this location for four months. Of the three employees we interacted with, Lamont and the woman we worked with were quite lovely. Another man was definitely rude, hostile, and unhelpful. The first time we encountered this man, we had driven from NJ to get our PO Box key. I had already paid online and we showed up with the ID that was requested on the website. This man told us we couldn't get the keys. We had to wait until we received a letter at our NJ home, then bring it back to Stamford as proof we actually lived at that address in NJ. Feeling baffled by his attitude and odd request, we did as he asked. Luckily it was a week before our move. (What if we had just arrived from CA?) I highly suspect his request was not valid. After we moved, we submitted our MA change of address and forwarding information. I was waiting for a package that I had tracked and knew had been received in Stamford right after we stopped at the post office for the last time. I called the number (Lamont's number) and was told that there was indeed mail for me. However when my local friend went in to retrieve it, she was told there was none and that it had all been forwarded. It had not. I finally engaged the USPS.gov to start a "where is my package?" case and, more than a month later, I received my package. This man should not be in a customer-facing role. read more

Went to pick up my mail that was being held at this post office. Received unpleasent service from the moment i attempted to explain to the counter clerk JOANNA what I was there for. She Attempted to make it seem like it was much more difficult of a situation then it was. Another clerk overhearing the interaction simply asked me my last name and within moments came out with the stack of my mail. Something as simple as "picking" up mail turning unpleasent it was not called for nor what i expected. This clerk has not only poor customer service but a huge chip on her shoulders. JOANNA needs to re- read the customer service 101 text book! And remember to always treat all customers with the same courtesy and respect that she herself would want. read more

The phone number listed here is wrong. The West Ave. # is 203-326-2038. The number Yelp has listed is for the 06902 post office on Berry Place. It really doesn't matter, though, because your call will NOT be answered. I've lived in 12 different zip codes in 7 different states and this post office has absolutely the worst customer service. All they need to do is hire a few more people and complete customer service training. read more

This location is opened from 9am-5pm weekdays and from 9am-2pm on Saturdays. The wait can be long on Saturdays and on weekdays at 9am and noon. The staff can be very slow here with only one person at the counter so give yourself plenty of time. read more

Ugh. This is a pretty crummy Post Office. It's the one located closest to where we live, but I think next time we need to mail something we might try to find a better one. It's a pretty tiny PO with a small parking lot. There was only one employee working the counter on a Saturday, and a fairly substantial line. The counter office area is not very well organized, with a lot of the necessary forms missing or not easily available. We were shipping to Canada, and had to wait in line to get the form, and then get back in line after the form was filled out. If they'd had all the paperwork available, it would have saved us and them a lot of time! read more

I asked to pick up my package that was showing at "at post office" he was quick to tell me it's at the regional distribution center down the road. when clear my tracking information showed different. This postal site has some of the most incompetent and apathetic staff I've ever encountered. My husband and I opened a PO Box here with package reception services. When I saw my fedex tracking confirm they had signed for a package, my husband and I went to pick it up. When we got there, they had no idea such a service existed. We were told they didn't receive packages--never mind that the service is advertised on their website and we PAID for a 6 month account! We had to fight them just to get them to look at our delivery confirmation, which STILL didn't convince them they receive packages! They even denied being familiar with the name of the person who signed for it at their own front desk. When their efforts to get us to go to another location didn't work, they then told us an idiot named Brian canceled our account "for non-payment" and that any attempted deliveries would be returned to the sender. This was ludicrous since we paid ahead of time and had the receipt to prove it. Eventually the guy at the counter re-instated our account and magically appeared with my fedex package. No apologies and not even a hint of shame for being so wrong, moronic, and incompetent. If you are considering renting a PO Box here, stay away. These people will make your life a living hell. read more

the staff in this post office need to have better manners, my encounter today with a lady wish I had gotten her name. I was mailing a package to the UK which I had filled most of the custom form, I asked her a couple of questions and she said I had to sign and date and write the value $ of the package. I started to sign and she yelled Mamm!! And I asked are you screaming at me, and she asked me to step Aside then proceeded to call some guy in the back and he asked if I could step aside while I signed which took all of 20 seconds, meanwhile she helped another customer. Absolutely ridiculous and no way to treat any customer I do not know how they keep there job being so rude. I then told her how rude I though she was and mailed my package which she charged me for a mailing envelope I had purchased from another post office. Never going back in there, why so people have to be so unpleasant, very angry customer. read more
