Their website says walk in passport appointments from 8-10 on Mondays. We showed up at 8:15 and no one was there. We rang the service bell and were rudely told to come back at 9, door slammed in our face no more information provided. I have had mail stolen out of the blue boxes outside of the post office at Valley drive. I was told that it was safer to deposit mail directly inside the post office. At the end of June, I took some paid bills and mailed them INSIDE at the Valley Drive post office. One check was stolen, washed and made out to a woman for $20,000. The check was cashed!!! Thankfully my bank detected the fraud and notified me, otherwise I would have not recognized the mistake, since I no longer get cancelled checks from my bank. Be careful. I'm not from around the area but just needed to mail some documents. I guess I was impressed with the customer service, especially for Bianca who helped me, and felt the need to come on here to write a review. She was courteous and efficient. I noticed that the lady in front came up to the counter with her box unpacked (even though there were clear signs I saw the moment I walked in), Bianca greeted her with enthusiasm and even complimented the lady for having her labels ready LOL. We really like this location. We have been very fortunate every time we stop in. The staff are knowledgeable and kind especially a man by the name of Jose. We prefer to go to this post office in town rather than the one that is closest to us because it only takes one visit to complete everything. I will add that despite it being understaffed Jose moved the line quickly while assisting us. read more

Terrible service. They have moved the self service machine inside the locked doors at Valley Road. It's not working at the other location in town, and the Glenville location is only open till noon. The service at the counter at Valley Rd. is very slow, and with no level of general friendliness or enthusiasm whatsoever. I called today to see if/when the self service machine would be back up and running and what hours it will be accessible. You can't get someone on the phone, at any location. We go up to Maine for summer. Last year we had forwarding service, for which we paid $18 every week on the top of initial payment. The USPS forwarded to us whole packages of letters including junk mails on weekly basis. This year we were going to do the same. However the post office on Valley Road informed us that there is another way which is free. They will forward the mail to us minus junk. We thought it was great. It was a disaster!!! Not all the letters arrived. How do I know? I subscribe USPS site that shows all the incoming mails. My 65th birthday card from the Philippines never arrived. Our property tax bill arrived way behind the forwarding period. My husband's doctor's bill never arrived. He was so embarrassed to find out when he visited the office. The insurance bill never arrived. The insurance company called us asking whether we moved. We went to the insurance office to collect the undelivered bill. This morning i opened my email and found out that New York EZ pass asking me to call because they shut down my address due to undelivered monthly statement. When I was growing up we highly esteemed teachers as the giver of knowledge and postmen as the messenger of news (good or bad). I am writing this review because last year when I signed up for paid service, the first two weeks of packages never arrived and I had to drive 300 miles to Greenwich to find out my mail box was flooding with mail. We are a business that they regularly pick up from and they cant even do that consistently, As I write this review I have mail from yesterday that is still sitting in my mailbox that was never picked up,. The mail from yesterday was just thrown on top of outgoing mail that should be picked up on a regular basis. Would give it zero stars if I could. Passport process took about 3 hours, camera was broken, had to go to cvs, then come back, wait in line another hour, to finally be helped by a woman who was slow motion. Workers move like slugs and are clueless. Do yourself a favor and drive an extra 5-10 minutes to any other USPS. read more

If they delivered mail properly I'd have given them two stars. Slow customer service, people on the phone taking no responsibility. For example, I have been missing a couple of checks that my landlord sent me, and other important items and the lady told me my landlord must not know my address because they would have delivered it. As it turns out there is a new carrier and because a former tenant had a forwarding order, he begun to forward all of my mail even though our last names are very different. And I've lived there for six weeks and was receiving mail until the new carrier started. So I'm missing checks and my mom's Christmas present and all my tax info for 2014 and they just pass me around and never return my calls. read more

It's so sad to go into this place because it shows the state of our government run agencies. The employees are so lacking in customer service skills - they banter back and forth with each other, laughing and finishing their conversations with each other as a looonng line of people wait, completely at their mercy. They could care less about their customers.... it has to be seen to be believed. When i finally got to the counter, I explained i wanted to check and see if my large envelope had enough stamps on it.... The employee said it looks like you do and then proceeded to finish completing a piece of paper relating to the last customer (I understand that - finish it up quickly and get to the next customer). Then she proceeds to begin talking to another employee that came around the corner (mind you, none of it had to do with work, it was all personal stuff). So I waited and waited and waited until she was finished and decided to come back over...... she is clearly not grateful for her job. read more

Is possible, I would give ZERO star. I can't remember how many times my packages have been lost. I always have to call them and track my packages even though it says "delivered" on the tracking website.
