Even after that I was still out of the Post Office in 15 minutes! Awesome customer service, I never knew I could leave a government office happy.

It's simply me realizing they're probably understaffed maybe underpaid I don't know but they seem extremely unenthusiastic every time I go in and I have started using shipping solutions instead because they're nicer and more helpful. The postal peeps at usps are actually pretty rude to me sometimes/also try to tell you "we don't do that" if you bring too many packages in the ship. but it's like bro you're literally the place that packages...(and when I brought the same number of packages to the Umatillo USPS, the lady was extremely friendly. She was the only one in there and she told me "of course we do this. We are the post office" when I informed her that the Hermiston post office said that it was too many and they couldn't help me.) wth lol what pisses me off the most is that they never the phone... I mean like I have had them answer the phone one time when I have called and it must've been luck because they never answered it ever again after that any of the days that I have ever called them with a question about a package or with a help request for a missing package, etc. actually multiple times when I have had a package that was missing from my mailbox that said it was delivered, the only time someone answered they told me they would call me back with information. They never did. I called back multiple times over the course of two weeks and no one was ever able to answer the phone. :) today, which is probably five months after that I called again with another question. No one answered the phone. It's increasingly annoying and I wish they would just disconnect the line if they're not gonna answer. I don't wanna have to drive all the way across town through all the stoplights just to ask a question and then be told "I don't know I can't help you with that" which is also what happened to me the first time my package was missing ! You mean you won't answer the phone and then I go in person and you tell me "yeah I don't know. I can't do that here" super annoying. I don't know why nobody can do their job. Nobody can! like what are you doing here? Why are they paying you?

Outstanding Service at the Umatilla Post Office - Thank You, Ms. Lori!…read more Ms. Lori at the Umatilla Post Office is absolutely amazing! She always brings such a positive, welcoming vibe and is consistently quick, efficient, and professional, which honestly cannot be said about every postal location in town. Lori greets everyone with a genuine smile and makes every visit pleasant. As a small business owner, I especially appreciate how she has taken the time to educate me on the shipping process and show me how to save money using USPS online services. That kind of knowledge and willingness to help truly makes a difference. Customer service like this is rare and should be recognized. Thank you, Lori, for your hard work and dedication--you truly rock!

I returned the packages ask where my package was and that I had another person's package in my box. The person working checked and stated they must have switched the keys and a man received my shoes and apparently took them. I wanted to know what and when they would fix this situation because I am being billed for the shoes. I was surprised the worker got upset with me I guess because I questioned him and he made a mistake and gave my shoes to a man . I just wanted to know what would be done, no apology just raised his voice got upset with me. Later my friend called to ask and the female worker was agitated and said they would have to get the shoes from the man who took them and said if you have a problem with that call someone and hung up. The workers at the umatilla post office were very unprofessional the way they talked to me.

The Pendleton Post Office is a helpful mix of short waits, knowledgable, helpful staff and…read moredependable deliveries. Their retail people are likely to know your name and make good suggestions about cost-efficient, timely delivery of packages, tax documents and plain old letters - if you ask, they'll show you how to fill out their documents before your arrive at their windows and speed your way through the process. They are also patient experts in locating packages sent from other (haven't had problems on the Pendleton end) locales. They have a persistent, gentle sense of humor and some clever merchandise, suspect the rubber boneless turkeys was was local, funny effort. My mail delivery, even on truly tough (sub-zero, ice covered roads and sidewalks, large dogs) days, has been consistent. Single downside is their public relations - they inspire a scowl in diner conversation over the location of group mailboxes and business deliveries. Haven't had these (own a small business) problems, but have heard them more than once.

First, I want to say that the mail carrier in my NW Hill neighborhood is really nice, high energy…read moreand he always smiles. The actual office is another thing. This is a very unprofessional branch of the US Postal Service. First, the clerks at the Pendleton office move in slow motion. Once you go to the front of the queue, there is a lack luster "greeting" and questions are answered with obviscation leaving out essential helpful facts. I understand that this is an institutional workplace, but I think they just stand there and take there pay without any consideration to provide actual, helpful service. I purchased a home and I wasn't informed that mail went to a corner deposit box. I had gone into the branch 3 or 4 times because the box on my house was empty of mail for weeks. It was only after speaking to someone the 3rd or 4th time that I was asked if I had a key to the deposit box. This was news to me. But once I dug through my keys that were left for me, I had no idea where the box was... they left that part out. Can you understand how someone new, might need more information? She told me I needed to pay $40 to get a new key, but that proved to be false. I had to get a refund by money order because of information I was told that was incomplete. What do you do with a money order? I went back and asked to cash the $40 money order and was told she didn't have enough cash in her register. I asked to speak to the supervisor, but she was having a chat fest over on the side... I could see them. Then everyone disappeared. I stood there for 5 more minutes and no one came out. I left the post office very angry for how I was treated. Every time I go there, it is a problem and they are not helpful. They laugh at you and think you are stupid, or you are the problem. They have no idea what people do in grocery stores or hardware stores where the work is complicated and hard, but you still smile even at less pay. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highly rated, the front staff is a 1. I have been there 4 times since moving to Pendleton and everytime it is a problem. I am 67 years old and I have NEVER encountered such a Postal branch. Congress is considering turning the post office over to a contractor because they run so much in debt... I think they should do it.

Her personality was such that she was very empathetic to my disability & truly treated me compassionately. She asked if I needed stamps, I said no thanks. I understand that old timey-ness is part of the draw around here but would it kill you to get a stamp vending machine? pretty sure they've had such things since the dawn of the atomic age so no worries about it being an anarchism. might even get some repeat business after the business close of the business because it's not like you're going to do a lot of upselling
