Going to the post office Sometimes you never know what will happen And 99 percent of the time... We know that we are either mailing Or receiving something... Walking into this post office I instantly noticed the convenient automated stalls To process mail and other things.. This is in the lobby area You can also get your mail ready for shipping It's a cool area. Stepping inside the main area with the postal workers I grabbed a spot in line The postal workers Told everyone thank you for being patient This is a very nice touch "Can one of you gentlemen give this lady a hand" The postal lady said. There was and older gentleman And only me I rushed to help lift her heavy box onto the counter Happily doing so.. The postal worker thanked me And the people in the line acknowledged the feat I had no idea I would go to the post office and leave Feeling like a better citizen.. My mail needs were taken care of With excellent customer service And heading to the car in the parking lot The older gentleman stopped me To thank me.. My postal experience was legendary. These are the most incompetent parasites in the history of mankind. This includes the black, bearded postmaster. Complaint after complaint that I witnessed as I was standing in line. I requested a refund for an overnight package that did not arrive until 48 hours later. they did not comply! Save yourself do not go there! Our Letter Carrier in the Mountain Brooke Subdivision is an Absolute Crook!! He delivers flyers and magazines paid by the sender for "Local Delivery" . He puts several in each mailbox instead of one, I guess he gets rid of then faster. I have called several of the senders and learned some of them were mailed in January and delivered in August. Someone needs to speak up against injustice. Some of these others review are clearly from some crusty people. I've shipped from here for many reasons plenty of times and have never had a single problem. I think some people are clueless and unprepared. I go in with a QR code and my package ready. I'm freelancing in the area & this location is a few feet away from my office providing ease of convenience for mailing needs. Between 11A-2P it's pretty busy, yet after 3P no wait in line. The self serve supplies are few, there's a good amount of mailboxes for rent & the staff keeps a clean space. Good customer service. read more

I've been coming to this post office for almost 2 years since moving to this area. I use to go to the other location in Stone Mountain, but I would rather pull my own hair out than go to that location. My experience has been good for the most part. I have not had any issues with staff but once...and I left a review afterwards, and had no problems with that particular person since. The location has plenty of parking, unlike the other SM branch, but if you go in during "peak times" the wait can be long. I've noticed that as of late, there's only one person at the window...that is the reason for the long lines during peak times. That can be annoying to most, but I have patience, so it doesn't bother me as much. The ladies are always nice and friendly to me. I ship a lot, so I'm in there at least twice a week. I have not noticed any bad attitudes from them ever (except the one time I had to contact USPS on one clerk), but if you go up there with an attitude because the wait time is long, they probably will give you attitude back. The reason for only 4 stars is because of wait times, and one day last week it was only one clerk, and I noticed the other clerk in the. Ack talking loudly on her phone. The clerk had to go to the back and tell her to come out. That's not professional at all! Then my normal route driver went on vacation, and his replacement driver did not scan my package I was shipping from my mailbox. I had to open a case. Never had that happen before, but miraculously they found it. So, I know others hate coming here because the lines are long, but the reason is because USPS are forcing early retirement, and laying people off. The cutbacks are hurting the service we should receive. Oh, and to avoid lines...go first thing in the morning when they open, or after 2pm before 4pm. read more

The absolute worst! Read on for a variety of infuriating experiences you can expect with threes folks. For starters, our usual mail carrier is terrible and apparently either dishonest or at least super unorganized. Aside from her seeming incredibly rude, on more than one occasion they have literally left my packages on the street in the curb rather than taking the long voyage 10 steps to my house to drop off in a considerate manner. There is a man who delivers sometimes and he is actually really helpful and friendly and doesn't throw my mail on the street like it's trash. Most recently I made the mistake of putting outgoing mail in my mailbox. We are going on 2+ weeks with no shipping updates. It's sad you can't trust them to take your outgoing mail, but be warned if you're reading this. Our carrier is not considerate or trustworthy, apparently. In the past few months I have had to pick up a package due to insufficient shipping. When I went to pick up at post office they made me wait for close to half any hour - all the while no one said a word to me. They scurried to the back and I waited and waited (with a toddler in tow). They finally came back very nonchalantly and gave me back my USPS claim slip and mumbled they can't locate my package. I was calm but getting increasingly annoyed as you can understand. They said they would talk to the other girl who wasn't there at the time and call me back later. The lady did call me back to let me know they can't find my package, the lady they mentioned told them it was taken with outgoing mail. Why are you taking my mail out of the post office when it's not paid for?! Completely unorganized place with zero F's given. No one ever followed up after that and I eventually found out from the package sender it was returned to them. SMH Definitely a consideration for someone moving to the area. So sad you can't even trust the USPS in your neighborhood. read more

A family member sent alot of money through priority mail for kids Christmas and bills which needed a signature for delivery. Online tracking says mailman was the last person that had the large envelope. It was never received and mysteriously vanished at the post office. The manager was very nonchalant about the internal theft since the priority mail was never recovered. He said the original mail man was off and someone named Francis was the last person that had the parcel that needed a signature. Now I'm observing several comments in yelp with similar experiences at the other Stone Mountain branch. My wife has escalated the investigation, but unfortunately you have to deal with the Manager of the Stone Mountain branch. Now we are dealing with Gwinnett PD because we had another item that we was expecting that mysteriously vanished. read more

Lost a package I sent to an Ebay buyer. Tracking said it happened at this post office. I called USPS to open an investigation and was treated to radio silence. Needed to call and poke them. After I did, I was informed that I should open a separate Missing Mail Claim. Ummm, isn't that YOUR job since YOU lost the package? I didn't purchase insurance because the package did not have anything breakable and I foolishly assumed the PO would display the utter minimum of competence. Guess it's UPS from now on. read more

Look at all the negative reviews and BELIEVE them! This is the WORST post office in Metro Atlanta! Slow? Check. Long lines? Check. Lost packages, incompetent, rude employees, too few employees at the counter? Check, check, check, and check. Go there once, and you will still find some other reason to dislike being there. And, to top it all off, they WILL NOT deliver or pick up packages from my home, because my driveway is too long and "dangerous". We drive up and down one, twice, sometimes several times a day with no problems. Since the USPS won't pickup or deliver, I'm forced to go here often, and I have only seen a decline in service every time I go. The days of "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" are long gone. First time I went into the post office the lady postal worker had to be stern with a customer because while doing a transaction the customer WOULD NOT HANG UP HER CELL PHONE! The postal worker gave her three warnings then had to sternly tell her to step away from the counter for not hanging up! GREAT JOB. Today 3-27-18 I entered and would have been totally lost with what I had to do. This wonderful gentlemen approached me and asked if I needed assistance. His help was so appreciated. So kind and so helpful. He stated he was there to improve the customer service in that branch! Well bravo to that wonderful man and his help. I have been dealing with this post office for a couple of weeks over a lost package. I have been promised call backs from management Diana and Frank only to not be called back. I was initially informed that the carrier realized where they dropped the package off and that was almost 2 weeks ago and still no package. I was advised they would go to the area and knock on doors to retrieve the package and would be called back - no call back. It is sad that we cannot rely on the post office to read the address and make the delivery to the correct address. I think the level of concern or empathy from management to communicate this problem has left me with minimal confidence in the handling of my mail. I guess the task falls on me to start the process of filing a claim. I have to fix someone else's mess to get to a resolution. read more

I went there to cash a money order. I was standing in the lobby 10 minutes before they opened (along with approximately 4 other people.) The cashier was late coming out (about 10 minutes.) I stood in line for an additional​ 13 minutes, before it was my turn (I was number 3 in line.) I gave her my money order, and she said they just opened, so I would have to wait until they accumulated the funds in the drawer, before I could cash the money order. I stood there looking dumbfounded. I'm sure they had a safe or something somewhere that she could go and cover a $100 money order. Come​ on. I feel that it was laziness. Heck, I waited all of that time to be assisted, I could have waited an extra few minutes for someone in the back to get the funds from the safe. BUT I would be danged if I waited there until people paid with cash, to reach $100. I can't wait until they do away with the Postal Service. What's the point in having them? read more

This is, without a doubt, THE worst post office in the area. ALWAYS a long line and it doesn't matter what time of day, what day of the week or what month of the year it is. There are never more than 2 clerks working and they go out of their way to be nasty. They act like they hate their job and you're bothering them by being there. I've yet to meet a pleasant person in that post office. I've decided that when I mail packages from now on, I will go to FedEx or UPS. I will pay a little more, but at least I won't have to stand in line for 20 minutes and then have to face the wrath of the hateful postal clerk. read more

This is the most unorganized and poorly ran post office I have ever seen. We only get our mail three days a week. They are slow and unorganized. My mail and my neighbor's mail are always in the wrong boxes. The customer service at this post office is non existence. The post office needs to seriously reorganize this office. Poor leadership, poor service. They are slow and do not care about the people they serve. When I complained the postmaster Charlotte defended her staff and made excuses. This poor service gets worse each year. Especially during the holiday season. Someone in the Post Office needs to take a closer look at this office and remove the leadership and reorganize this office.
