What a POS company! Was quoted one price for a pick up scrap of my car. When the tow truck guy…read moreshowed up, he called the boss and told me a price 50.00 less. I never talked to the auto place re, the tow driver did. Told tow guy 20.00 less or no sale. Then driver was about to tow car with no receipt. Asked for the receipt, and he wrote the original amount. Claimed it was a mistake and corrected it. Just all around shady transaction. Hope this is not the norm for this type of business. Also, tow truck driver swore at me about "not trusting him", and I was about to shut his mouth for talking trash, but the amount I got paid for my junk car probably wouldn't have posted bail. If you want to deal with a shady, disrespectful business, this is the place for you!

Chicago's U-Pic-A-Part is a recent arrival to the area. I didn't even know it existed until I…read moreheard several radio commercials for it and spotted a billboard, all on the same day. The advertising blitz worked; I had tools in the trunk so I went there immediately. If you've been to almost any other area junkyard, you already know the routine - pay your $2 admission fee, get your toolbox checked and you are released into the yard to look for whatever parts on whichever cars you like. Like most of the other yards, the cars here are organized by make (GM, Ford, Chrysler and imports) and are up on stands for easy picking. Unlike most of the other yards, this one has an asphalt surface, probably from some leftover factory parking lot or whatever it was that used to be here. The paved surface sounds like a great idea but upon thinking of the only other area junkyard that I know of with a paved surface, I have decided I am not a big fan of the asphalt. The surface soon takes on an oily, slippery texture and if there has been snow lately the aisles between the cars become icy and treacherous. At least that is how it is at the "other" paved junkyard; who knows, maybe U-Pic-A-Part will have an army of laborers with shovels to keep the rows clear all winter. Maybe it will be different. This winter has been remarkably free of snow, so so far so good. I didn't find anything that I needed to buy so I can't comment on price. Cars are of the typical late-model variety, mostly from the 90s and 2000s with a smattering of cars from the 80s. I didn't see anything older than that, at least not in the GM section. So what's not to love here? Besides my preference for gravel instead of asphalt for a ground surface, what this yard is lacking is an online inventory, something that most of the other area junkyards have all added in recent years. That has truly become the game changer and has eliminated the all-day random search through a half-dozen yards in favor of strategic visits to the one or two yards which actually have the make and model I need. And this is all thanks to the online inventory. Its something this yard needs to get. The internets have come to almost all the other junkyards in the area and this one needs to get with the program too.

They didn't try to rush me, move me out of the store and they just let me do my thing, figure my stuff out and then proceeded to help me as normal. It was a chaotic situation but they didn't make it worse -- it was actually a great experience. I'll definitely be back for any future parts/car needs.

She asked her coworker I think his name was Jonathan to help me put em in my car (it was a struggle to take the lid off) and he found that I didn't even need them ! They just weren't plugged in( silly mechanics) so he helped me plug them in and even left the lid in a place where next time I could easily replace the lights myself. Thank you so much guys! I'll be back for other car needs for sure!

The owner was so professional he was very patient taking in everything I said I wanted. He suggested we both go sit in the truck so I can show him what my expectations were. I loved how he wasnt trying to rip me off but was more concerned with giving me what I return to his shop for in the best quality for longevity.
