If you are getting a prescription filled here, do not call them on the phone. Even in the case of…read morelife saving medication, you should not make phone contact with them. Dealing with the automated phone system will make you want to end it all, thus defeating the purpose of the medication. Just so you know, when you call, regardless of the reason, you will slowly be told by the automated voice "Just so you know..." followed by information that you didn't call about. You will slowly be told to provide your phone number. After giving your phone number, it will slowly be repeated back to you as if the system is reading your own phone number to you in order to give you plenty of time to write it down, except you probably didn't call to give your phone number for the reason that you needed someone to read it to you so that you could document it with a crayon on a piece of paper just in case you ever need to refer back to it. Then, you will be entering your date-of-birth, and having it slowly being repeated back to you as if the system... (Nevermind. It's the same as the phone number thing.) If you need to talk to someone, the automated system will finally allow you to. But first, it will say to you another "Just so you know..." informative statement, this time a slow reading of the store's hours. Of course this is important for the system to do this because of the high likelihood that if you were calling about this most common basic information, then you certainly wouldn't have tried to obtain this at the very beginning of the call. Of course, most people would have gone through entering their phone number and date-of-birth in order to try to find out the store hours. If you're one of the rare people that haven't made it this far into the call just to find out the store hours, it's ok. Just wait through the slow reading about at what time everyone takes their lunch break and what days have different hours, you'll eventually get to talk to someone about what you're calling about. When you get transferred to the pharmacy's phone, they will be helping other callers. You will know this, because a ten-second message will tell you. Then you will be on hold for twenty-seconds. This part is not hyperbole. These are the actual times. Watch your clock to test it: * After the twenty seconds, the music will stop, you will hear a change in the sound that sounds like someone picked up the phone. As you anticipate a person's voice, a ten second message will apologize to you for keeping you on hold and tell you they are helping other customers. * You will be on hold for twenty seconds. * You will again think someone just picked up. Nope. The ten second apology message will play again. * You will be on hold for twenty seconds. * Then (see above - the ten seconds of reminding you that they're helping other people). * You will then be on hold for twenty seconds. * In case you forgot why you've been put on hold, the ten second message will come back on to remind you. * If you are on hold for two and a half minutes, you will experience this five times. * Don't use that as an estimate though, because you won't be on hold for only two and a half minutes. (I'm writing this review while on hold.) This phone system is why I stopped using this pharmacy five years ago. I'm only here now for a one-time situation because Walmart is out of a particular medication right now. I don't think anyone in Walgreen's management or the corporate office has ever called the number to see what their customers go through. Perhaps, the person that first instituted this is long since retired and it pre-dates everyone that's currently in a position of authority. Maybe they're all clueless? EDIT: I'm back. Just had the human interaction. When the real person picks up, you'll need to provide them your phone number and date of birth.
