It has been a while since we were last here and we were not disappointed. Plenty of parking. We started with the Wachos minus jalapeños and it was sooo good! We each ordered different entrees for brunch. The apple smothered pancakes were fluffy and generously portioned. Delish! Pulled pork carnitas sandwich was very good. Met up with a friend of mine here on Sunday and it was HOPPING. The waitress we had was super frazzled, and asked us 4 times what we would like. I think y'all might need to hire a few more people for weekend rushes. I wanted poached eggs but was told I couldn't have them? So went with...whatever these were. It was a bit odd, the avo toast though was good. We were rushed out of the door after eating, which was a bit annoying, seeing as how things were winding down at that point. Christos has a menu item for just about anybody, from toddlers to octogenarians. The north side of the seating area can get loud. Christo installed carpet to help with sound absorption but I think it's still on the loud side. Oh well I don't really like people so maybe I'm the problem. My recent visit was with a group (8-top) and the table service was slow compared to two and four tops around us. The server was nice but overworked. The food was good with large-ish portions. We saw a plate of pancakes topped with strawberries and whipped cream that looked delish. read more

Enjoyed my experience here at breakfast, best part is they have breakfast all day!! Pro-tip: Do NOT eat at Christos if you're on a diet, because whoo boy will they ever load you up on food. Seriously, the amount of grub they give out is breathtaking and puts Applebee's to shame. And it's so darn good! My only suggestion is that Christos invest in piecing together a nutritional guide or even a nutritional calculator. As a very health-conscious fellow, it'd be very helpful to me to be able to see exactly how many calories, protein, etc., I'm consuming with each meal. read more

I came into Christos with my elderly mother around 4pm on a weekly to eat. The place is carpeted in the back half of the restaurant, and a worker came out to vacuum. It's was really loud. I asked our waitress why they were vacuuming with a powered vacuum while people were eating. She responded (with attitude) she wasn't involved with that. She did grudging agree to ask her manager. The manager came over and made all sorts of excuses about why they needed to vacuum at that time...it was their downtime. They wanted the place to be clean for the dinner crowd. Their manual vacuum didn't do a good enough job. I was over it. I told here they needed to get a manual vacuum for the times when customers were in the restaurant. That it was a best practice in the industry. I asked her to please have them stop. She said she would and then walked away to deal with other customers. So the vacuum kept running...and running. It's was hard to talk over and my mom is already hard of hearing. Ugh!! Besides the vacuum debacle, I will say the food has been going downhill. Service sucks. I'm sad because I will not be back because they do not seem to value the customer experience. read more

The service here at Christi's West Lafayette has absolutely cratered. We arrived around 7:35 on a Tuesday night, wondering if they had closed the kitchen already, as the last Tuesday we attempted to go here we were told that they close at 8:00. We expected to be a bit rushed for our order as the 8:00 hour was fast approaching. What we didn't expect was to be left waiting for a server for 10 minutes, and observing another party coming in after us by about 10 mins being given drinks and having their order taken almost immediately following their being seated when no one had even ventured close to our table. We got up and left. Unfortunately my partner had left his keys on the table, so I went in to retrieve them. A person who identified herself as a manager told me she understood that we did not have a good experience. I hastened to inform her that we actually had no experience, and described the debacle that had just occurred. She offered us coupons for another visit. I informed her that, no, we don't want any coupons when the service (or lack thereof) was so abysmal to begin with. Why would we subject ourselves to that a second time.? I would strongly recommend staying clear of this restaurant, unless you're ok with horrid service. For those who may be thinking "Wow, that's a bit harsh," or why not "give them another chance," or "perhaps this was just a bad night," this was our third attempt following two other visits on different days and times that both had similarly horrible service. I was trying to be fair in my evaluation, so I gave them a couple more chances before penning this pan. read more

This place is good for the wallet and the stomach. Portions are large and food tastes good! Their toast is buttered generously so each bite is delicious. Servers come and check on you and make sure your coffee and water are always filled. It's a kid-friendly restaurant where they give crayons and a coloring page for the little ones so they can be occupied while your meal is being made. There is ample seating, so bring a group with you when you come. read more

Went for late lunch on a Thursday after grocery shopping at nearby PayLess for my Purdue student who moved in yesterday evening. The dining room was busy but wasn't full. We were seated promptly, but our server took a while to come to our table to take our drink order. We already knew our food order so we gave her that after asking for waters, no ice, as it was snowing outside and we were cold! I ordered the Gyro (in Sandwich menu) with fruit cup as the side. I eat a lot of Middle Eastern gyros and wasn't expecting to be wowed here -- I had not seen that the founders of Christos were Greek. I was happy the gyro meat tasted good; pita break was nothing to rave about. My Purdue student ordered the Baked Penne, added grilled chicken at extra cost, with salad as the side -- she also got a roll with it. Penne portion was huge so she took half home to her dorm. Salad and roll were unimpressive except for the croutons which she said were surprisingly good. My Purdue student wants to go back to try breakfast, but doesn't have a car so not sure if she'll ever get there. read more

I've been here several times so I won't rate Christos on today's visit only. Christos has a large facility that moves a lot of customers quickly. The staff is always professional and friendly. The facilities are clean while bring a bit dated. Christos has a large menu which gives all you discriminating diners choices. That's one of their assets. All items are good. Breakfast is a good choice. Today I had the Ranchers Breakfast. The eggs were eggs while the bacon was slightly crisp and soft. Both are typically of breakfast diners. My choice came with sausage gravy and biscuits. The biscuit was served as a whole biscuit - most serve cut in half. The gravy was poured over the top so you really couldn't the biscuit open. The biscuit was slightly dry. The gravy was salty and had very little sausage accent. Overall the gravy was rather bland. read more

Are you in the mood for breakfast after noon? Christos serves up a phenomenal array of breakfast favorites in addition to burgers, salads and pasta dishes. I was in the mood for breakfast for lunch and I found exactly what I was looking for. Fred the Butcher skillet comes with eggs and potatoes, topped with ham, sausage, and bacon. It's unusual to find chorizo on a menu in most restaurants but they were able to accommodate my request to add it to my meal. With all of the health regulations, The restaurant management has done a very nice job of spacing out the patrons as well as sanitation. In my opinion, There is one key aspect when it comes to being a terrific server, and that is keeping drinks refilled. Maddie P. was friendly, prompt, and you guessed it, kept my drink refilled. This evening my wife decided to go to Christos. We both had the Gyro with fries, the waitress was great and the food was very good, but their manager was rude. When our gyros came out they didn't have the small cube of feta that is always on plate. I asked if we could get our feta, the waitress came back out with small dishes of feta but said feta doesn't come with gyros. I've been going Christos for at least 15 years and every time I ordered a gyro I had a small piece of feta on the plate. The manager came out, waving the menus in our faces even though we didn't ask for her. I told her the same about feta always being on the plate with the gyros and she said well I been here for 10 years (never have seen her before, but maybe she has been that long) and said we have never served feta with gyros. I didn't realize but they charged us $2 for the feta. I don't mind paying for what I order, I don't like being told I don't know what I'm talking about. We won't go back. Another new rule is if you ask for more than two wedges of lemon for your tea it's $.50 each. Maybe Christos should adopt a better business strategy than nickel-and-diming their loyal customers. read more

My daughter and I had Brunch here for the first time. Seated quickly. Seats were well spaced.Very nice atmosphere. Noted that someone was consistently cleaning and spraying tables and seats. Daughter ordered French toast with strawberries on the side, . I ordered big breakfast included scrambled eggs , hash browns, bacon, toast. We cross shared our orders. I ordered coffee it was strong but I did enjoy it. Just what I needed to wake up.The waitress saw we were sharing and brought extra plates. She went above and beyond. One of the best West Lafayette dining options serving all day breakfast on a huge menu, wonderful value, enticing options with Mediterranean flair and popular American grill eats, friendly staff, and classically modern atmosphere. Us eight hungry guys dropped in a bit late, were reminded we needed to order as they closed at 9:00, still managed a great time with all of our picks finding the pasta almost hilariously piled high, burgers actually two hands, and I went for the hero quesadilla appetizer thinking my two tacos would be the usual tiny amount of food. But happily my two shells were stuffed full of Chipotle sauce ripe for a filling meal. These local family restaurants can easily be overlooked due to popular chains offering predictable menus but I am very thankful to recommend Christos as well and above all the usual national restaurants in the area for value, variety, and an overall excellent time despite an early closing time. read more

Portions are generous service is fast the pace is clean and the building is conveniently located on sagamore. I will continue to come back and try more of the menu and those delish pies! Sat at table for an hour, no check in from waitress. When we asked about our order they informed us they ran out of one item. We tried to pay for our drinks (2 cokes and an iced tea) but even that was a hassle. As we walked out the door the couple that came in just ahead of us was leaving with their leftovers. A couple of months ago, I went to Christo's for the first time in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of changes had come to their menu. There is now even a veggie burger listed. Our food that time was decently tasty until we encountered a hair in our Greek fries. They replaced the plate without issue. I recently just purchased a DealChicken deal - $10 for two $10 gift certificates (to be used separately), and I stopped there after work on a Thursday to use the first certificate. My husband and I weren't terribly hungry, so we just decided to share a couple of appetizers, Fried Green Beans and Greek Fries (again!). Everything tasted fine. and between the two of us, we didn't finish more than 1/2 to 3/4 of each dish. Serving sizes are definitely generous here. Very disappointing. Our phrase for the night about our experience was "mediocre at best". I ordered the Alfredo with chicken and had maybe 5-6 small fatty pieces of chicken in my pasta. It was very bland and I couldn't get through half of it. My salad before hand was small and basic. Overdone with dressing and crappy iceberg lettuce with minimal toppings. My boyfriend ordered the BBQ pork chops and they were overdone and not flavorful. Seems like all it was was a pork chop with bbq sauce on it, no seasonings. Our waitress was slow and we often sat with empty drinks. When she did refill them they were only 3/4 full so we would finish it before she would even come back again. Limited drink menu, hardly anything at all other than 4 wines or 4 beers to choose from. Also their sides weren't listed on their menu. Environment was run down and seemed like an old diner almost. Big contrast from what their website and exterior look like. Their website looks very nice and their motto of making their food fresh, as well as good reviews from others online so we had high hopes but were very disappointed. Won't be back. read more
