I had been dealing with worsening varicose vein pain for nearly five years, so I was relieved by how quickly Metro Vein Clinic scheduled my appointment. At first, my experience was positive. The front desk staff was kind, my ultrasound technician was patient and gentle, and the doctor was personable and explained the procedure in a way that made me feel comfortable moving forward. Unfortunately, my experience after treatment has been very concerning. Months later, my leg has still not healed and is in worse condition than before I sought care. I raised these concerns multiple times, but did not receive meaningful follow-up or support from the doctor, which has been incredibly frustrating and worrying given the outcome. In addition, the cost and insurance aspects were not clearly communicated upfront. I am now left with a significant, unexpected bill on top of dealing with ongoing physical issues. I'm sharing this so others can make a fully informed decision. While the initial experience felt reassuring, the lack of transparency around costs, the complications following treatment, and the absence of adequate follow-up have made this a very difficult experience. We've seen a few different doctors (sometimes we aren't able to see his PCP) and everyone is very knowledge, cordial and kind. The nurses are all great and attempt to calm my son down who get a a bit nervous as he's only 2.5 (he started seeing his doctor at 18 months when we moved to NYC). At times during afternoon visits when they're busier the wait time can be a little long but that's fine. We are patient and things work out.

When I first went I told them what 2 insurances I had and they accepted it. ok Then when I I had retired and went to Medicare and another insurance. the insurance they accepted with my past insurance. nobody at the front office ever said since may you have a company due . it is july , just went the other day nobody told me that and ..this past appt they didn't say please pay a copay for past or up front now. I never had to pay a copay. ever. so I got a bill from May it's July and I called up to inquire and I said no one told me you take my secondary ins. they said we never took that 2 nd ins you have and I said yes you have after 3 yrs you have but it was under fidelis the the 2nd. So Now I feel slighted as no one ever said we don't take your 2 nd insurance and I argued with the center at home office and said I did show 2 cards for ins and the guy at the office said we got it . So someone should said many the way we don't take that 1 ins just the other card you showed us. I have no way to pay for co pays I'm retired and have hardship just me no income no spousal income now I have to not go anymore and hope I dont get mrsa again and lose my leg from not being able to pay copays. Wilson who worked as the front desk receptionist was always pleasant and accompanying when it came to scheduling appointments and retrieving test results. Also notable was Cheri, who helped out up front as well for the care of patients in the back. That all being said, the overall office's professionalism and utmost care of patients has drastically changed for the worse with the new additional staff that was brought in. I was unknowingly assigned to Dr Pulcheri. She seemed professional at first but had many issues from prescriptions not being filled correctly when requested, to months of unavailability to see me and falsifying medical records from teladoc calls. I tried my best to accommodate her derelict of job duties but to no success. I even tried to get the new receptionist Natalie, who was hired after Wilson, to help facilitate my health needs. At first it seemed like she could handle the fast paced and demanding position of answering phones. but that was short lived. She quickly became unprofessional and contentious on the phone. She would over talk me, cut me off in mid speech and wouldn't relay my messages to Dr Pulcheri. This went on for the past year. I had to ultimately make the hard decision to leave the East Medical Practice. No ill will towards Dr Lusky or others at the practice not mentioned in my review. I just can't continue arguing with an unsuited receptionist and a doctor who seems more concerned about her travel plans and personal obligations ( as she would tell me when I visited ) than of her patients, leaving them with no medical care or alternative support.

We returned to Dr. Hale after my mother underwent a second back surgery that left her in severe…read morepain and struggling to walk. Because he had done her original fusion and had such a strong reputation, we trusted him to give us an honest assessment. I brought her most recent CT and MRI scans, along with lab results showing a GFR of 17--the morning of that second surgery--indicating she was not an appropriate surgical candidate at the time. I also presented the report showing that a Coflex device had been used directly above a prior fusion, something that multiple sources list as contraindicated. Dr. Hale spent only a few minutes with her, glanced at the scans, and said everything looked fine. He offered no comment on the labs or the contraindicated device and simply recommended outpatient therapy. After her condition rapidly declined, we sought a second opinion from a top spinal surgeon at HSS, who reviewed the same imaging and said she was in urgent need of surgical intervention at that time. Unfortunately, by then it was too late. My mother is now wheelchair-bound, on dialysis three times a week, and unlikely to survive more than six months. She will live out what time she has left in pain--and in torment--knowing that those she once trusted to protect her instead looked the other way. From where I sit, it seems doctors protect their own, even when a patient's life is on the line.
