I took my mother in law today and so glad Dr. Gart was able to see her. We called them around 2pm to see if there's any doctor who could see her today due to needing an urgent care. Their receptionist was very patient and was able to find an appointment window that worked for us over the phone. She was seen by the doctor at 4. The doctor had a very thorough examination. Even though the condition she has turned out to be unrelated to vascular, the doctor got on a call with my MIL's PCP office and gave them result of his examination. Today I sat in line 2.5 hours! like the other 9 people! In this basement the temperature was 70, after requests to make it warmer, they made 67 .... no comment! everyone in summer clothes froze there terribly! why say that the doctor has time if he doesn't ?????? !!! waited for more than 3 hours most of the time. for the treatment, still waiting if there's any improvement but as of now, still feeling the same as before getting the treatment. Now this is the main issue, the co-payment. I received a call that I owed them for one treatment (for now). I was shocked by the amount. I started and finished the treatment without them telling me that there was a co-pay. I assumed that it was 100% covered. Why? Before every treatment, I received a text reminder to avoid caffeine and bring my ID insurance card and credit card. They told me that the treatment was already approved by the insurance. If I just knew that the co-pay would cost me $700+ for one treatment, I'd stop or would not push through with the treatment. Very Unprofessional, rude, unsafe, very, very long waiting time. You don't even get to meet the doctor who will be performing the surgery. After confirming with them that my mom insurance will cover everything that their will be no paying out, now they send my mom a bill months afterwards demanding money. Horrible customer service ! They booked for me an appointment for January 4th 11:45am which I have never made. Moreover, they were keep calling me for a week or so trying to confirm this 'appointment'. However, when I was talking to a guy on the phone, he didn't want to cancel this appointment . He was just constantly telling me that I can reschedule it. I explained him that I don't want to reschedule it, so please cancel it. After reminding me again that I can reschedule , he said that he will cancel it. The next day they were keep calling me again and again. So no one really cancelled it! It was very rude. Stay as far away from this place, or any business affiliated with USA Vein Clinics. I made an appointment for last week Nov 25. They emailed me constantly to reconfirm the appt. And the day before they texted for me to confirm, which I replied yes. I woke up early and went to the clinic and arrived 20 min before my 9am appt. At the front desk the person informed me that the doctor (Dr Riley) would not be coming in and they cancelled all appts. He first said that they tried to call all the patients but then I asked when they did this and that I was texted less than 12 hours ago to reconfirm the appt. He then changed his story that the doctor just cancelled. To add more inconvenience I got a call AS I WAS DRIVING HOME from a call center letting me know that I had a 9am appt and that I haven't check in yet. I told them that the doctor cancelled and to please not to call me anymore. Now I get calls daily from a call center asking is I want to reschedule. This place just setting off red flags as a poorly run practice and I'm thankful that the doctor cancelled. You were warned. read more

Just want to let all of you people out there know that this location , although they said they accepted United healthcare they assigned me purposely with a Doctor who did not take United Healtcare at that facility. So be careful if you're making an appointment at 2444 86th St. be certain that you ask if the doctor is in network. I was assigned Dr. Sean Yetman who was not in policy at that location and now USA vein clinics billing department in particular Carl is coming after me for money. Carl is rude and obnoxious and will do NOTHING to help. This was an error (I think set up) on their part. In addition the medical assistant at the front desk did not do her job, I asked to confirm that this visit was in network, she informed me my visit was in network but she was too preoccupied with a tornado watch that was in affect for the area that she probably just yes me so that she could get out of there. Had she called to verify my insurance she could have informed me that the doctor I was about to see was not in network, I would have left. Additionally, I sat with Dr. Yetman for a while, he knew the insurance I participated in as did the sonogram tech, and neither of them ever told me I was out of network. I would never recommend this facility. I believe there is something fishy going on. I believe that the clinic purposely made an appointment with an out of network Doctor to get some money. read more

Although I had a very good first and second visit, I'm calling this place QUITS. After two rather decent visits, I made an appointment for a 3rd follow up visit and then had to cancel it. When I tried to reschedule it, I was given an appointment one month later which is absurd. The telephone is not answered in the office you see the doctor out. Your call is automatically transferred and answered by a remote call center. I liked the Dr. very much but the whole process of being connected to a remote location call center is a turn off. At that call center you have to be very lucky if you can easily understand the staff due to very poor telephone lines. I conclude this is VOIP and the fact that it appears everyone I've spoken with has a heavy and I mean heavy Russian accent, making it virtually impossible to have a coherent conversation. They also frankly miss the importance of what you are trying to convey to them in your telephone conversation. As for the Dr., he was great visits one and two, but he's a phantom Dr. That he, is appears he's hired to see patients on Saturdays only at this location and if you ever need him, or your referring doctor needs him, trying to get him is a big task. I called their call center three weeks ago and at their recommendation I faxed them a brief note asking them to contact my referring physician who had some questions. To date my doctor has never heard from the USA V Clinics doctor. Due to his failure to communicate with my referring MD, I have had to cancel, albeit elective surgery, it still is surgery, and it is surgery that I want to have, but canceled because the Dr. at this company never responded to my request to contact my doctor. I think they work solely on the premise that most patients are stupid ill informed consumers who will just say OK to anything their staff says to them. Again, though my initial and second visit were great with the doctor, he's never to be 'found' and getting an appointment here is too difficult for my comfort. Alexander Gart, MD came in to see me and said that he does not see a problem with my legs after the sonogram/Xray taken. I told him that I have reoccurring pain in my legs. He said you need to walk more. I told him, I have asthma but I do try to jog for 15 min at the Fort Hamilton track. I told him I was 215 lbs and went down to 160 lbs. He looked in my face and said, don't kid yourself, let's be serious you're obese. I said, I know I am overweight for my height being 5'3", he said you need to walk and run more. I said I try but the pain in my legs make it difficult that's why I am here. He said, he sees nothing, I need to lose weight. I left out of that office destroyed and crying. He attacked my weight when he did not know what was wrong. I went into my car and my daughter asked what was wrong. I told her nothing, I'm okay then busted again into tears. I told her what he said, she said you are okay, you came a long way, being a size 14 to a 8/6, men don't understand. My daughter googles about leg cramps and told me I need to drink more water. I started drinking more water and cramps stopped. Thanks ChyAynn, my 13 yr old doctor. After the front desk told me they took my insurance so I am okay, 8 months later I was billed for $669.00. Do you how upsetting it is to billed for something they didn't even help. This Alexander Gart not knowing the problem attacked my weight. I thought the doctor was excellent. He name is Dr. Gart. I found the front desk very helpful and caring. At my first visit I had some ultrasound work done, that too was done very professionally. What I dislike, is that USA Vein Clinics is a national firm which has offices throughout the country and when you call the # that is on their business card, you are being connected with their 'call center' which I conclude is handling calls from all over the country'. At that call center, you will find yourself on hold endlessly, then transferred around a bunch, and you will find them not very helpful. That's my complaint about this group, their call center. One other negative worth mentioning... Although the 86h Street office was spotlessly clean, it did have a very clinic like feel to it. I think they have tried to change that image by changing their name to usa vein centers versus usa vein clinics. Again, I found the doctor to be excellent. I found the staff at the doctors office excellent. And I opted to make a follow up appointment with them, which shows my faith in them. read more

i went to this clinic to see if i was a candidate for recanulization. after signing in being told to drink lots of water because i was going to have an ultrasound and not use the rest room because my bladder needs to be full i waited 3 hrs. obviously i couldn't and wouldn't hold my urine in for that long because that is just not healthy. they did an abdominal sonogram then i waited in a smelly room for about 20 minutes to see a Dr who was very nice but explained how they do not do this procedure anymore how in fact he has not done one in it over a year. bottom line total waste of time other than the cute Dr who spent 5 minutes with me in my opinion not worth the hr public transportation ride and over 3 hr wait and also waste of my insurance benefits.
