This is an unexplored paradise for savvy aesthetic fellows. Tea, coffee, apparel, paintings and books. Everything seems created as part of an Japanese architecture book, combine with the sudden crafted DUMBO's unpretentious but not lessen culture. Definitely recommend the matcha and the pour-over. Plenty of space to work with power outlets everywhere and a good wifi. This was made to be good, it's not expensive, so stop to pretend you like to go to those untidy coffee shops with rude people and give yourself a break. read more

This place is amazing and super aesthetic! It combines a store, art gallery, and cafe into one. They have a unique and excellently curated selection of books, and other home/office goods and gifts. The space is spacious, and has plenty of room to sit and work as well (free wifi!). Ordered a tasty mizudashi cold brew and took up a seat by the window while taking a break from walking around. My wife was there few months ago with her friend and she was charged twice. The cashier claimed that the first transaction didn't go through so he swiped again. I tried disputing one of the transactions and when the credit card investigation team reached out to Usagi, they claimed that these were two separate transactions so the claim got denied.. This is awful.. If this happens to you, make sure to ask the cashier to give you the receipt for everything. read more

Never had a Japanese cold brew, the barista mentioned it was less acidic so I gave it a go, it still has the sourness of a cold brew but it's smoother. Cute bookstore up front and the cafe with ever cuter seating in the back. Nice spot to check out if you're in the area. read more

Super cute spot in Dumbo to get a green tea and a slice of four and twenty black birds matcha piece, or hojicha pie (this one was my fave). They also have a little fridge with bottled drinks and prepackaged bento boxes/rice bowls. I really want to try their poke bowl which they have at certain lunch hours. I'm very disappointed been coming here since the beginning and their tea was so good. we supported them during the pandemic even gofunded them! The Hojicha tea used to be sooo good, and now it tastes so water down and back then they will take their time making the teas. Today I got one in less than a min.. also, the service has been sub-par i specifically told the barista no lid and she repeated this back to me "no lid" and this was said 3 times in 3 separate occasions. I'm trying to use less plastic since they no longer accept Bring your own cup ( yet i saw them sell reusable cups)..they no longer serve in ceramic/glass anymore, thus the request for no lid, but every time i say "no lid" and the barista will repeat after me, it always end up with a lid...I came back 3 times to see if the service and quality will improve...but sadly i wont be coming back anymore for at least the tea. Their space is beautiful but what i remembered them for were the awesome tea..and now its no longer the case. read more

This space is so cute ! It's really easy to walk past this cute little cafe in DUMBO as it's nestled towards the back of the art gallery part of Usagi and can't be easily viewed from the street, but trust me, if you find this place, it's amazing. After reading great reviews on the Matcha drinks, we decided on the Iced Matcha Latte drink they offer. Couldn't have made a better choice. It was so delicious. When you order Matcha drinks from other places, often times, there's still chunks/grains of the matcha in the drink but the Iced Matcha Latte from Cafe Usagi ? Woah. It was hella smooth. You can tell it's great quality. Flavor and strength of the matcha was on pointe. The service here was very friendly and accomodating. Such a hidden little gem in Dumbo. Looks like an art gallery from the outside. First the coffee is very good. They have this Japanese style cold brew that is both strong and delicious. In addition the lattes are spot on. Try there match latte. Amazing. Now for the space. Its really nice. Its like having coffee in an exclusive little art gallery. Don't miss out on the cafe. Swing into the art gallery with a rabbit logo and head inside. It's a little hidden and you might walk around the whole block before you realize it's not labeled outside. Came here just for the matcha latte and hojicha. It was refreshing for the summer heat. Great little thing to sip and lounge. The place is super cute! Great art gallery and book collection and nice place to relax with a cup of tea or coffee. I am giving three stars because unfortunately i came in looking for bento and there is no completely vegetarian option. I wanted so badly to buy the inari sushi box, but inside theres chicken. The woman working suggested to just buy it and remove the chicken. To purchase a (small) box at 11 dollars i dont want to have to remove items!! Please make an all veggie option! Just add tofu instead !! Next time i come back i will try the coffee and teas and hope to have a better impression ^_^ read more
