I was going to write a review based of my girlfriends time at 5T but then I saw the by the review left by Kris J... I just had to share my experience. The nurse in 5T both day and night are some of the most caring individuals we have ever met. Mary Ann the lead nurse is actually the sweetest and I can attend that she has no bad bone in her body. When I would walk around the unit, I saw her running around helping everyone and never complaining. I don't know about Zack and his story but more often than not....Most individuals will not give out their last name for safety purposes... such as this case of a nut job Kris looking them up and harassing people. So creepy and unprofessional, you don't do that to anyone regardless of how mad you are. What is also uncalled for is posting a private conversation you have with a different nurse and posting it for your own gain. Do better lady. 5T and PACU are such an amazing unit with staff and I'm beyond blessed they saved my partners life. Yes ALWAYS room for improvement but that's everywhere you go. read more

Avoid the ER at Keck Medicine of USC in Arcadia. My experience was horrible. I arrived just before 6 PM yesterday and was not checked in until around 11:30 PM. I understand that ER wait times depend on severity and that some patients may need to be seen sooner, but the way the front staff treated people was unacceptable. I went in because of severe back pain to the point where I could barely walk. I have children and a very high pain tolerance, but this pain had me in tears. Around 9 PM, I politely asked if they had any updates because it was becoming extremely difficult to sit and wait. The staff member at the front was rude and told me to "go sit down and wait for the nurse." Every time I approached the desk afterward, I was dismissed and told I would "be called shortly." When I was finally taken to the back, I was only seen for a couple of minutes before being moved again for vitals. They hooked me up to the blood pressure machine but never properly checked on me or removed it. At one point, they placed another patient in the same small triage/check area with me. It was barely big enough for one person, let alone two. The other woman was hooked up to her IV port and left there screaming in pain while I was also sitting there in severe pain myself. It was uncomfortable, chaotic, and did not feel like an appropriate space for multiple patients. I was also told they needed another urine test because something was missed in the first one, but no one ever came back to do it. Instead, they returned with discharge paperwork around 12:30 AM. The next day, I saw my doctor and found out the pain I was experiencing was actually due to a severe kidney infection. I'm disappointed not only by the long wait but by the lack of care, communication, and compassion from the staff during a time when I was in serious pain. read more

If I could give this hospital, no stars I would. USC coming to Arcadia was probably the worst thing that could've ever happened to Methodist. Their Labor & Delivery unit used to be amazing and now it is just terrible. The doctors that have residency here are amazing like Dr. Hong however the way the unit is ran even going as far as the waiting room that is outside is terrible. The unit is just not what it used to be by far. They used to allow three people at all times. When it was Methodist, I was able to deliver my son with my husband his mom and my mom and they got to stay with me every step of the way, except for the epidural. Now that USC has taken over they barely allow three people and after 8 o'clock they only allow one person to be in the room and do not even allow anybody to be in the waiting room, which is completely separate from the ward. You literally cannot even wait in a waiting room for your family member to give birth. Even if you are having a ton of complications and might need a possible C-section and all these different things are going on they do not care and will not allow you to have your mom in the room with you. My husband doesn't do well with blood so my sister is going to be with me if I need to do a C-section and they asked my sister to leave the waiting room despite they're being a great chance of me having a C-section and so my sister had to leave the waiting room and potentially go home and just be on standby to hurry back in the event that I had to do a C-section that's not counting if I had to do an emergency C-section, I would be left with nobody to be by my side. I've been to Huntington. I've been to White Memorial. I've been to a handful of hospitals and have never ever ever experienced the way that USC is now running this hospital. I've been to USC Hospital many times for different family members, but this experience was by far the worst. My mom had a small stroke and was admitted for 8 days. Despite how incredibly weak she was, she could not stand on her own, we had to fight for her to stay after the third day. The moment her test results came back "negative," staff began pushing to discharge her, which felt extremely unprofessional and unsafe given her condition. Several doctors who came into the room were rude, dismissive, and lacked basic empathy. They repeatedly tried to push my mom out of the room, claiming she was "all okay" and that other patients needed the bed more. Pointing in her face and stating that this room was too expensive to justify her stay at the hospital. This was said while she was clearly not physically capable of caring for herself. Some of the RNs were also disrespectful, and communication overall was poor. They also kept pushing my mom to leave and transfer over to nursing home for them to take care of my mother. The situation escalated to the point where we had to involve a social worker and file a formal complaint with HR. This was an incredibly stressful and upsetting experience for our family. All I wanted was for my mom to recover smoothly but we were met with a stressful experience and hostile environment. Doctors on tenure and money hungry USC graduates. We will never return here again. Never ever again. Better off somewhere else for treatment. read more

Avoid ER at all cost. This hospital is sooo racist I came with my daughter for an asthma attach shortness of breath 5 hours in and we still haven't been seen. I had to tell the RN on duty which was an Asian. But yet when another Asian couple came in they got seen right away there were seeing all the Asian people first leaving the other demographic people in the lobby. I would never come here again and honestly would prefer to go to Beverly ER in Montebello,CA you get seen equally you know when your turn is. Terrible terrible!!!!! read more

I would like to give 10 stars to Dr Herzik and I believe RN Kelly and Jennifer Pelayno and Thomas Y for helping me out on Monday night going in there after kidney stent and kidney stone surgery and I was in so much pain they all went above and beyond to get me comfortable and to run so test to see what was going on . Terrible discharge coordinator and discharge arrangements- My dad was discharged in early am and we told the RN that his son in law will pick him up around 2or 3 pm. The discharge coordinator called the family saying she will call an ambulance to transport my dad back to his assisted living place instead of waiting until pm. However the ambulance never showed up and our family had to rearrange to pick him up at 5pm. No clear discharge instructions given to the patient and the patient got ignored all day after signing his papers. Nobody comes when buzzing the nurse. Very bad experience for the patient and family. read more

Hospital seemed very clean Our RN was very patient and kind. (Viviana) Answered all of my questions and was super helpful. Thank you for all of your communication and great service to patients! I know other people do have negative comments about service and staff. We experienced it from my family asking for a cup of coffee from the room. The coffee took about 2 hours and it came decaf when the patient asked for regular. The nurse made it right and gave us some fresh ones from the nurse station within minutes. Besides that, they are fine! Cafeteria opens at 11am and have great selections of snacks, entrees and beverages. They also have healthy choices so that's great! read more

I was admitted after going to the ER Sunday morning with hard sharp pain on my right side of my stomach. Well the staff and doctors are awesome made me feel comfortable after getting emergency surgery. If you have a loved one with mobility issues or paralysis, be incredibly careful at this facility. We arrived at 6:12 AM for a 6:30 AM surgical check-in requiring a wheelchair. Instead of assistance, we were met with a total lack of empathy and coordination. Security couldn't leave their post, and Admissions refused to help, falsely claiming they were "too busy" when there were two clerks, only one patient, and one staff member just sitting on her computer. The real danger came when security finally brought the only wheelchair available on that side of the building. It was completely broken--missing the foot braces, brake handles, and the right armrest. My husband is paralyzed on his left side and desperately needs a right armrest for balance. The guard told us "this one will have to do." When trying to get him into the chair, my husband reached for the missing armrest and almost suffered a terrible fall. I had to physically catch him myself. The staff's laziness and the broken equipment created an incredibly dangerous environment for a paralyzed patient. Highly disappointed. read more

UPDATE - the ER wait was actually 12.5 hours before being moved to a room... Continually putting a patient back into an overly crowded waiting room after each test is ridiculous. There were open rooms we saw when we got taken back for a test. It looked as though there was a Doctor, an FNP, and a PA on duty, and only those 3. Lots of standing around, chatting, snacking etc. Never again... read more

I have been to USC Acradia Hospital. Once it used to be Methodist Hospital, it looked like a very nice hospital, and everything is modern using high-tech equipment. They have very nice Cafeterias the food is really good. Right now, my father in law is having surgery on his left foot. I know these doctors are best. read more

Why is the wait time for the emergency room so long? I arrived at 1:40am, left past 1pm!?? This hospital lacks a soul. What has the medical industry become? This waiting room is the scene from the movie Beetlejuice. You pull ticket number 5,000,000 and the next patient is number 3. I would be called for blood works then told to go back to the waiting room and wait. My imaging test was not given past 7am. Apparently no ultrasound tech was on duty until 7am. I absolutely am stun on now horrible the service is here. At a certain point humanity must be placed first before profit. read more

Quality of care, Took husband in with kidney stone. They left him in the waiting room almost 4 hours. No one looked at him. No pain relief. I begged for him to be just taken back so he could get pain relief, and then we'll sit in the waiting room. Took him to another hospital and he was admitted there was a blockage and his kidney had to be drained. Because of their negligence, he now has a kidney infection. I understand how busy they were, however when someone comes in and says that they have a history of kidney stones and then you ignore them that is inexcusable read more

Zack Kouyoumijan MBA, MSN, BSN, RN, director of acute care? I don't think this man cares about anyone. How do I know his last name? He is publicly on Linkedin. He even left me a voicemail with his last name and when I asked him how to spell it after I told him how upset I was with the way he was speaking to me, he told me 'I am not going to give you my last name.' The way this man has spoken to me over the phone twice, should get him fired. He spoke to me about my experience with absolutely no remorse, arrogance, and instead of telling me how they have their own process of write ups, managing problems with their employees internally, he told me the nurses side of the story instead. One of the CNA's Xingtong doubled down on her side of the story and was being untruthful with the way she treated me when she got written up, and spoken to by Zack and the unit manager. Echoing the sentiments of every person in these terrifying yelp reviews here. Not only will you be treated subhuman by every nurse in Tower 5, but you will also be minimized, gaslit, and expected to stay quiet because all these nurses have each others back and justify their coworkers behavior. Mary Ann told my boyfriend to turn the beeping off on my IV machine himself. 'She actually told him, here, you do it.' She also walked passed my room and said 'on my last nerve.' She didn't want to get me hot water, reluctant to help me wash the pee off of me that I woke up in (that soaked my bed because my Purewick catheter was full and was not emptied the night before), also reluctant to give me things to help me wash my face after I asked several times, I actually got the materials. It is important to note here that I got a shocking amount of tumors removed from my hip and a hip replacement on top of that. I lost so much blood, I needed a 7 hour blood transfusion. I could have gotten an infection from how unclean I was due to the negligence of Tower 5. I barely had strength to sit up without passing out. I got to wash my hands 3 times in 3 days and 2 nights of outpatient care. I brushed my teeth twice. On the last day of my traumatic hospital stay, charge nurse Elton admitted to Zack that he did in fact give me the wrong phone number to call risk management about my experience. From the ground up, this place is corrupt. Elton also tried to tell me 'night shift nurses tend to be lazy.' When I told him that is unacceptable he said 'night shift nurses are like that at most hospitals.' Do not waste your time talking to Zack. He is a misogynist that will give you disingenuous accountability. read more

The tall, older woman who works behind the counter at the hospital gift shop was very rude and unprofessional. Don't walk in there carrying any tote or purse because you'll immediately be watched like a hawk. She watched me, and it was the first time someone had made me feel very uncomfortable. A new update for this hospital as I had just given birth to my second baby last week. I 100% wholeheartedly believe that this hospital is amazing for their labor & delivery/postpartum departments. I've had to go to ER, but since I was pregnant, I was brought in to L&D and ended up giving birth on the same day. All of the nurses were extremely caring and made sure I felt that they got my back the whole time. I can't even thank them enough. The other doctors that worked collaboratively with my OB were also amazing. The nurses/doctor in NICU were so caring and they constantly gave me updates while making sure to check up on how I was caring for baby when she moved into the postpartum room with me. The postpartum nurses were also really cool. I've had to stay in the hospital for 5 days so I got to chat with the same nurses often and I learned so much. They made sure I knew how to care for myself (and not just my baby). I felt so supported and was encouraged to walk or have movement. They gifted me with so much useful and even fun clothes/book/toys for my child. I'll be forever grateful for this hospital because of the care they provided. If anyone were to ask me which hospital I'd recommend for L&D, it's definitely this one. read more

However, there were a couple of instances where communication lacked compassion and could have been handled with more sensitivity regarding her care plan. That aside, everything was well-organized. Worst hospital I've ever been to. Dr. Samuel D. Schuberg was extremely condescending and rude the entire time. I even overheard him talking about me to a nurse, which was completely unprofessional. Then the nurse intentionally stabbed my vein multiple times, leaving significant bruising. This was not an accident, it was deliberate, and it was done under the doctor's instruction. I'm old so my memory fades quickly) but can I say that the cashier was the nicest, most personable, thoughtful, kind person. She was absolutely amazing!! My mom visited USC Arcadia multiple times while being treated for cancer, so multiple trips to the ER here and there along with being admitted a handful of times sometimes weeks at a time. I truthfully never felt she was fully being cared for as one would hope. ER visits were spent hours at a time in a room once we were called from the waiting room to see a physician with an RN making a visit here and there. When she was finally admitted and giving a room, care wasn't much better. RN's were for the most part robotic in nature, procedures felt rushed and doctor visits went by in the blink of an eye, with no absolute human connection. Very disappointed with this location, and USC Keck wasn't any better. Long story short, don't fall for the USC name as it has no real significance here. read more

This hospital has absolutely gone down hill since USC acquired it. When it was Arcadia Methodist it was a good hospital. Yes, imperfect, but it was staffed with very good nurses and doctors. Now it is an absolute nightmare. Unfortunately, I've spent a lot of time in hospitals and doctors offices, so I have a lot of experience navigating the medical system. The nurses at USC Arcadia Hospital are genuinely the worst medical "professionals" I have ever come across. Rude, incompetent, lazy, and lacking even an ounce of empathy. They do not deserve to be nurses. On one day we sat in the hospital room with our since passed loved one for over 6 hours and the assigned nurse did not come in once. We called for her twice to check on our loved one, and she only came in when her shift was ending to introduce the nurse taking over. Additionally, the hospital left the empty, second bed area that was next to our loved one dirty with visible human waste for hours. The amount of medical neglect that we witnessed was terrifying. If this is how they treat patients when their family is present, I cannot even imagine what it is like for patients who don't have witnesses and people to advocate for them. Speaking of advocating, we requested a social worker (multiple requests) three days before my loved one passed, and no one ever came or followed-up. And do not even get me started on the monstrous atrocities the nursing staff committed when it came to my loved one's actual passing. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. If you are able to, go to any hospital but here. Stay far away if you can. Yes, our medical system and hospitals in general are messed up, but USC Arcadia Hospital is a different level of horrendous. In my opinion, our loved one would likely still be with us if they received competent care from a different hospital. read more

The type of care is the same as a County hospital. If you live in Arcadia, do not bring your loved ones to this facility, make the trip to a better hospital. I made that mistake and my mom almost passed away from the lack of quality and competent care. The negative reviews are true. I am writing this review at the ER facility at this very moment (10pm) I came in at around 4pm today due to a lingering severe abdominal pain for 4 days and by a referral from my family doctor. It is now near 11pm. They drew my blood, had an x-ray, urine test, and much later a CT scan at 9pm. I was not allowed to wait on any bed but only to wait most of the times in between tests in the crowded lobby. Have I been admitted? When meeting any personnel here, be it the receptionists, the nurses, or staff, none of them greeted the patient appropriately. They called my last name or first name similar to someone who had previously commented here at Google review "it is like at DMV". Very true.! As of this moment, after all the tests, at 11pm, I am still waiting for the CT scan report as a waiting guest (i.e not on any bed) I had been to another USC facility before like the one next to USC medical school in East LA and I like them. This USC medical hospital in Arcadia is somewhat substandard to me. ** Updated at 11:45pm. ** My ER doctor came and told me the results. They did not find any problem. That is good news. The doctor, was patient in talking with me and was very soft spoken and nice. I just hope this ab pain will fade away in a few days. read more

The type and quality of medical care are 5 stars--after all, Keck is a teaching hospital. One needs to consider that emergency room staff see patients at their worst, and much is expected of this front line staff. A few here seem jaded by their day-to-day experiences--never an excuse, it's just reality. I gave it 4 stars because of the unpardonable condition of both bathrooms. Although it's a busy ER, their janitorial staff is severely lacking. Aside from that, I would return because of their quality of care. BTW, Dr. Barnett is very knowledgeable and kind. read more

Awful E.R. As many have said, the decline in care here since the USC takeover is staggering. When it was Methodist, they 'did their best', the ER was reasonably clean, everything proceeded fairly efficiently even with the staffing issues. Now it's scraping the bottom. Patients sent back to the lobby after testing (I'm sure to avoid nurse: patient mandatory ratios). Patients stuffed into any available space to be given confidential medical information in the presence of other patients. Hours-long wait to be given results you can see are available through the patient portal. Terrible experience and we're not going back. read more

By far the worst place to take anyone in for Surgery! I worked here for a short amount of time and they cut corners, do not follow standards, and the Supervisor is vicious to her staff. Care in ER has gone to he'll doesn't seem like anybody cares anymore. Used to love this place. Will go to san Gabriel from now on. Had back surgeries there and contracted some kind of infection that took weeks to get rid of. At the same time , got diagnosed with a problem I did not have. That lead to medicare having to pay for That I do not need $$$ For those folks that used to be satisfied with AMH, be warned now. USC has really changed it. Also way less nursing care. Last Friday, Sept. 26,2025 I went to the ER around 3:35 pm for shortness of breath with pain on the right side of my chest radiating to the back right side as well. My first complaint is that nobody responds to the call light so I had to go to the station. again by 1: 39 am I pressed the call light again. till 2am nobody came so I called the nurse supervisor to complain. Marcy was the house supervisor that night. Another thing, Dr. Eric Cam is not a compassionate doctor. I had been to the ER of this same hospital several times and I was happy with the doctors I encountered. I think the service in ER has gotten worse. He paged Dr. Christodoulou instead of Dr, Hovsepian who is the on call that night. Dr. Christodoulou did not respond because he was not the one on call. I am currently suing this hospital for a male nurse sexually assaulting me (Jay Gilman) and a female nurse (Yaijaria Rameriez) giving me a medicine induced stroke. The hospital tried to cover up causing me to lose mobility on the left side of my body by discharging me out of the ICU prematurely to be admitted on to the main level where the discharge tried to happen. once I said this sounds like a lawsuit they moved me to a different room where medical negligence nurse abuse and gaslighting from the staff began. I was ignored, physically, emotionally , sexually and mentally abused by the staff. The nurses knew I was allergic to mushrooms as I was sent to the ICU with a swollen throat and tongue on oxygen after my head begin to shake as I was unable to breathe due to a restaurant Ramen Nagi lying to me about their broth being made with mushrooms. After knowing this information the chefs cooked my food with mushrooms THREE times and it was so bad they gave me a wrist band to say no mushrooms. I walked into the hospital and left in a wheelchair. During this lawsuit they've even tried to use personal family matters against me to avoid their staff taking accountability for causing a famous fitness influencer to be disabled in a wheelchair. I am so traumatized by this hospital that also tried to deny me access to my medical records which is illegal. read more

We came into ER at 9:40pm the day before Christmas Eve with a 6 year old child presenting with chest pains and labored breathing. It is now 3:49am on Christmas Eve morning with no end in sight. All they did was triage for vitals and EKG. No one actually bothered to listen to his breathing with a stethoscope or did a chest x-ray. I just need to know if my child can survive the night without further medical assistance but they can't even tell me if my child will be called 10 minutes later or 10 hours later because they call by priority. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU ARE AT THE BRINK OF DEATH and even that is dicey. You will not be seen otherwise so don't bother! read more
