I had an emergency surgery here and visited the ER three times for post op complications. Each time I was there, I was treated with respect. I had outstanding doctors and nurses. I am so glad that I chose to go to the ER here because they actually cared. They took action and admitted me. Dr Schlaerth is an outstanding doc. I pray that my home hospital would be as outstanding with their care. If not, I'm making this the family hospital. We will travel down the 210!! Thank you for taking care of me. The ER nurses at this hospital were honestly so unprofessional and cold. Loudly cussing and laughing-- meanwhile patients are sitting there needing help. My grandma is 97 years old, bedridden, and completely dependent on other people to care for her. I had to ask for pillows and blankets so I could rotate her myself, and I had to ask for a diaper to change her myself because they had no plan on doing it-- even though my grandma was laying there for almost 12hrs. Unfortunately we come to this hospital because it's close to home. I understand ERs get busy. But being busy doesn't mean basic care and empathy should disappear!! When I asked for help, I got looked at like they were annoyed or I was interrupting their social hour. When it comes to my grandma I don't play, so I was really disappointed.. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! And what really broke my heart is thinking about the patients who DON'T have family there to advocate for them. Imagine if I wasn't there for my grandma? Who would've changed her? Cleaned her? Made sure she was even comfortable? That's scary to think about. People come to the ER vulnerable, scared, sick, and needing compassion -- not attitude and neglect. I visited the ER for diverticulitis, it was extreme. I was asked if I wanted to be admitted or go home during treatment. How am I supposed to know? I'm not the Dr. I was sent home with some antibiotics that are not the most up to date treatment method and as a bonus I received 5 morphine pills. I'm day 6 in and results are better, but far from normal. I feel the staff was kind, but they can not handle the demand of the community. Want to add, the ER rooms are chairs stacked 3 deep and very crowded with spouse/family members. Shared a room with pneumonia and a severe headache. read more

We experienced a severe lack of communication and a major safety hazard during an early morning surgery check-in. Upon arrival, my husband needed a wheelchair. Security and Admissions repeatedly redirected us to one another, leaving us waiting for over 15 minutes. A hospital should not schedule early check-ins for mobility-impaired patients if they cannot accommodate them. When security finally brought a wheelchair, it was profoundly unsafe: the right armrest was missing and the brakes were broken. Because no other options were available on that side of the building, I had to place my husband in the chair. He reached for the missing armrest for balance which he normally does and nearly fell to the ground. This was an entirely unacceptable safety risk for a pre-surgery patient, and the hospital needs to address both its inter-departmental protocols and equipment maintenance. DANGEROUS!!!! read more

I've only gotten a tour of the hospital but it seems fairly easy to navigate and I appreciate the free parking. Staff seems friendly and helpful, facility clean. I have always gotten great medical care from USC keck at their other facilities for glasses or check ups, and have no doubt this facility will be the same. read more

Dr Andrew Yun and team were the best! But the hospital was horrible! I thought I was getting the same care as I did at the San Pablo Facility...Nope! The facility is outdated, food is awful, and night shift was not attentive to my pain. I am receiving bills outside of USC medical care that I never approved. I called the billing department and they gave no idea why I'm getting these bills. They were no help. Went in because I couldnt breathe. The lady at the window was rude and the security guard was not at his post to give out "Wavers". I recommend risking it and driving further. When it was Methodist, they threw me out in the street with a gown on when I had Salmonella. I had to call the cops on them. I was then transported to Downey. I have been to USC Acradia Hospital. Once it used to be Methodist Hospital, it looked like a very nice hospital, and everything is modern using high-tech equipment. They have very nice Cafeterias the food is really good. Right now, my father in law is having surgery on his left foot. I know these doctors are best. read more

My visit to the Arcadia Hospital Emergency Room was easily one of the most frustrating and disappointing healthcare experiences I've ever had. I arrived at around 5:35 PM and didn't end up leaving until about 11:30 PM. I understand ERs can be busy, but spending nearly six hours waiting while dealing with a fractured arm and feeling physically unwell was exhausting and unacceptable. The waiting became so unbearable that I couldn't even stay seated in one place anymore. I eventually moved closer to the front desk just so I wouldn't be completely overlooked. At no point did anyone check in to see how I was doing or whether my condition was getting worse while I waited. When I was finally taken in for X-rays, the experience only got worse. The technician handled my injured arm far too roughly, which caused a sharp increase in pain. Whatever movement was done triggered a reaction where I began to feel faint and visibly pale -- something the technician even acknowledged out loud. Despite this, I was simply told to "take a minute" instead of being offered water, help, or medical attention. That moment honestly felt careless and unsafe. Eventually I saw the doctor, who was polite on the surface, but overall came across as disengaged. He did not personally apply my splint and instead had a less experienced staff member do it. The splint was not applied correctly, which only added to my discomfort and concern. On top of that, I was never given a prescription, nor was I properly informed about my injury. No one showed me my X-rays or explained what they revealed, including whether there were any tears or additional concerns. The entire visit felt rushed, disorganized, and lacking basic communication. When someone comes into the ER with a fracture, they should feel cared for, informed, and taken seriously. Instead, I left feeling dismissed, poorly treated, and frustrated after hours of waiting. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share this experience so others know what to expect and so the hospital can hopefully address these issues. Patients deserve better attentiveness, clearer communication, and a higher standard of care -- especially in an emergency setting. read more

Quality of care and respect to patients. I will give my experience I came in for a surgery and the customer service i received was horrible. I am a patient of Dr. Yun who is fairly new to this location. Let me start off I was checking in with Marina who is such a miserable human being and helpful with anything .. I asked for an estimate of what I would be responsible for and she said it wasn't her job to provide me this information.as I have seen here on yelp it's not her first time being so uncaring and unhelpful in many ways!Having an untouchable kind of attitude and an obvious disrespect to patients who essentially pay for her to have a job. I asked for a manager she stated to sit and someone would help me! In a very rude tone. I waited and a lady came to help me she was very condescending and had a very much I am not listening attitude.. "(i wonder what I will have for dinner") very clueless and adolescent for her position. Didn't catch her name but as I talked she just smiled and looked away in to the clouds! Like someone was there. She was tall and had a very small vocabulary all she said was I'm sorry. All I have to say is USC get some individuals who can represent the company in a while not just cause they make it up the pole by kissing ASS as it very much h seems. This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. The nurse's attitude is my major complaint; They joke around, giggle, make fun of each other, all in front of patients in pre-op or post-op, nurse is supposed to be a serious position and it concerns everyone's health. One of the nurses gave me a cup full of meds and ordered me to swallow all but I had to refuse, some are for morning before meal, some are at bed time, it is not that simple, this nurse probably never learned anything about meds in school. I even asked a nurse at pre-op to call me care-giver not to come to pick me up because I would be in surgery and would spend the night in the hospital but this nurse never did call my care giver as I requested. I'm 28 weeks pregnant and i've had to go to the ER twice due to bleeding in the past couple of months. First time mom here so we didn't know what the process was like or what to expect. We went through the ER, they saw me, put me in a wheelchair and took me to a Labor and Delivery room to check me, we stopped quickly so they could take a copy of my ID and insurance and kept going to the room, i was in a bed within 20mins i'd say. The nurses that I got both times were super nice and friendly, they were helpful and both doctors that I saw were knowledgeable and explained to us what we needed to know. WHY IS IT ... upon admittance to the emergency room of ANOTHER hospital a few weeks ago ... THAT they did blood tests, CT scans, MRIs, gave me A CALL LIGHT, and treated me with the utmost respect and care. Why is it ... in the ER here ... I got screamed at that I was mentally ill when I actually WORKED at a psychiatric hospital, 2 cups of water with a diagnosis of dehydration and heard the doctor order an IV, no consideration of a possible head injury, and was put in imminent danger of a second fall which most likely exacerbated the first. Why is it that MY HANDS ARE NUMB AND I AM NUMB FROM THE WAIST DOWN TO THIS DAY!!! Why is it that ... upon submitting the above letter to the hospital, THEY BLAMED ME ...and I know ... I am a health care professional and totally aware of cover-your-butt charting ... that the nurse was covering hers. I'm not sure why this is branded as a USC facility, we came to this emergency room under the understanding that this is affiliated with USC in LA. Unfortunately, this is not the case. They weren't able to access any medical records during an emergency, we wasted three days here in the emergency room only to be told my husband's case was too complicated and he needed to be transferred to Keck in LA. Now, thousands of dollars of hospital bills later, we are getting so many different bills instead of one lump bill. It's caused a major confusion when trying to get his bills in order. Even today we received a letter from the billing department but reads like a 10 year old wrote it. Additionally, he was seen by MULTIPLE doctors, we had to explain his situation dozens of times only to be ghosted by that doctor and a few hours later, a new doctor would come in and the cycle would repeat. One doctor stood out who asked us dozens of questions, questioned his health, questioned his personal life, made it seem like he was finally going to be the one to get things moving and help us and then said he would come back and we never saw him again.... I don't think he had anyone consistent in this place at all. It's unfortunate they hold the USC name because the USC standards are not here at all. We finally saved our dad by getting him out of this hospital and transferring him to a nearby 5-star hospital. What our family went through here was absolute hell. I agree with every single 1-star and negative review--this place has earned them. From medication issues to ongoing neglect, the care was traumatic to witness. They repeatedly pushed to discharge our dad while he was clearly not stable. At one point his IV was left unplugged for days, leaving him dangerously dehydrated--but that was only a drop in the bucket compared to everything else we endured. The difference was night and day. In just one day at the new hospital, our dad received better care than he did in weeks here. That single day replaced weeks of fear, suffering, and exhaustion for our entire family. Side note: Credit where it's due--the Physical Therapy department and a small handful of nurses were genuinely caring and tried their best under difficult circumstances. Unfortunately, they were the exception, not the rule. No family should ever have to fight this hard just to keep a loved one safe. Background On Visit: Was rushed to the hospital via ambulance, because I had a hard time breathing. Duration Of Stay: About 9 and half days Visitor Rights: No visitors are allowed. If you want someone to bring you something, have them give it to the security guard. Then the nurse will go down to get the items and bring it up to you. Location/Parking: Located next to the Santa Anita Race Track. It's basically on Huntington Dr. inbetween Baldwin Ave and Santa Anita Ave. Plenty of parking for all. Ambiance/Decor: Your typical hospital setting Service: Service was great. The nurses, doctors, and hospital staffers were very nice, attentive, helpful and offered great suggestions of how to recover after being released from the hospital. Major kudos goes to Nurse Amy who chose to be my RN nurse on the days that she worked the night shift. Familiar faces are always nice when you're staying for many days at the hospital. Hospital Food: Hospital food isn't that bad. Every day, there will be someone that will call you to ask you to seewhat you want entrees and carbs you want for the day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are some hand sanitizers available for patients to use. This hospital is opened to serve all patients. They are also sanitizing in between patients. While I was here last night, I discovered that they do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: Plenty of parking here at the hospital. The spaces are okay. They are not too wide or small. There is a parking structure, but it's for employees only. Staff: The staff here is very nice and friendly. Obviously during a pandemic, things can get hectic so I didn't really care how long it took for me to be seen by a doctor. Everyone here is super courteous and helpful. Gave birth to my daughter at the hospital. My induction turned into a c-section. All the nurses, doctors, staff, and everyone else made the whole process a memorable experience. I can't remember everyone's name but I'm so thankful for all everyone that took care of us. They went above and beyond to make sure I was okay and helped me through this scary but wonderful experience of being a new mom. The rooms were actually quite spacious and even had a great view of the golf course. The delivery room was huge and my husband was very comfortable on the couch. Our postpartum room was smaller than that room but we didn't have to share it so that made it less stressful. Our daytime and nighttime nurses were so caring and really helped me as a first time mom. They were always helping me with breastfeeding and any questions I had and tried to help me be as comfortable as I can. Check in for the day of my induction was super easy and fast. The induction process actually went pretty smooth. The nurse gave me a birthing ball to use while I was there and my water broke 5 minutes later. Unfortunately, my daughter decided she wanted to stick her hand out instead of her head and we had other issues like cord around her neck, IUGR, and gestational diabetes so a c-section was recommended. I can't thank everyone enough for the time there! I would love to give birth here again if my insurance allows it in the future. read more

The worst hospital experience in recent memory. Nursing staff is hardly available. My aunt pressed the call button 4 times to get a cup of water but no one came over to even see what she wanted or if she was in distress. My cousin had to flag a nurse down. We are not even sure they knew the moment she passed away due to the lack of attention from the staff. This was April 2022. My grandmother was there for a few nights in June 2022 and she was told to use to call button for assistance to use the restroom. She pressed the button 3 times and by the time someone showed up, she soiled the bed because it took that long for a nurse to show up. Meanwhile my cousins noticed that nurses congregating around the desk, gossiping. They will be filing the appropriate grievances with hospital management. Whoever is in charge of the nursing staff should take notice to recruit more nurses or tell their nursing staff to quit socializing and to pay attention when patients hit the call button. Let me start off by saying I work in the medical field at a reputable teaching hospital, so I know exactly what good care looks like. I had to bring my elderly father with dementia to the hospital by his physician's request (and the hospital I work at does not have an ER). I did not expect to be making an emergency room visit today, but unfortunately my father had some concerning symptoms. I was able to find parking in front of the emergency department rather quickly and we were kindly greeted by the screeners and security staff out front. (Five stars to the kind and friendly Alliant security officer. I don't have his name, but he was a young, tall black guy). I checked my father in, and the whole process was fast and straight forward. We were triaged by a nice RN named Pam, and my father was taken to the back for blood and urine specimens. We were then sent back out to the waiting area where he would wait to be taken to radiology. This whole process was decent and quick, and everyone we encountered was unbelievably nice! The transport guy and radiology person were absolutely nice and kind to my very confused father. Everybody was! They really treated him well here, and in an ER a good bedside manner is the most important. The one part we all hate while visiting an emergency room is definitely the wait. Although all his testing was done quick, waiting for results took over four hours. This is normal, the results need to be interpreted by a physician and the ER was busy. I checked in at 11:45 AM and we left at 5:00 PM. Was I tired and hungry? Yes. But waiting is a small price to pay to ensure your loved one is not in any danger. I would also like to give a special shout out to Montana who did my father's registration. He was nice enough to bring us a blanket when my dad got cold! Very nice and professional. read more

I went in with severe dizziness, couldn't walk and violent vomiting. I was in the lobby from 9:30 pm until 2 am, vomiting and staggering-they offered me an anti nausea pill which I explained I couldn't keep down as I could not hold down even a sip of water. they were irritated and scolded me. finally back in an ER room I was left miserable for hours before they gave me an IV for fluids and meds. I suffered for hours until they got the IV and got some relief. I was admitted and never saw a doctor. I did briefly see a nurse practitioner but they didn't check my ears, you would think they would for dizziness which can come from inflammation of the ear. I left on day three with no plan and no orders and I had to ask for prescriptions for dizziness and nausea which I still have and I'm two days back home. One nurse was kind, Julian, and he gets my one star for being nice. read more

I am hoping the new things I am seeing at USC post-acquisition are only hiccups...but I am fearful. Might change to Huntington, hope they don't have interns there too. DISAPPOINTED at service and lost confidence: Mom was here for chest pain, came in an ambulance...turns out her doctor was a resident, so just out of medical school. They wouldn't allow me in because she didn't have a room for hours. She could see that the resident was squinting over the charts trying to figure out what was going on and this did not inspire her confidence ...Turns out the presence of interns at this hospital was a surprise to the existing staff once the merger took place. She had all her tests done and she was not having a heart attack. They said ok, nothing was wrong, brought her to the car. But it turns out that she had something else wrong, which they didn't even tell me about upon discharge. Also the nurse didn't bring her out in a wheelchair and let her walk unassisted, even though she is very wobbly and has bad balance and had a major fall six months earlier. I see all sorts of nice marketing posters everywhere - could you please spend money on training and integrating staff? Also I feel very unwelcome as a visitor (please consider making my experience comfortable so I can be a good caregiver). But on a sidetone - less important - actually there is not even a place to sit anymore in the MAIN ENTRANCE AREA...! Except benches outside. Now I have to go sit in the ER waiting room where there is a chance of me getting a hospital acquired infection or COVID. I gave birth to my son here, and we had a wonderful experience. We got here around 3am, and had to go to the emergency door, since main entrance didn't open until 5am. The staff were all friendly, despite having to work the graveyard shift. My delivery room was very large with a sofa futon, and the nurses were all super nice and friendly. The nurse Teryn took care of me most of the day, and she was simply amazing. After delivery, we were sent to smaller room with a nice view of the road. The room had 2 smaller comfy chairs (one pulls out). The nurse Mel took care of us most of the night, and she was very sweet and helpful. Overall, the rooms were very clean and all the nurses were very helpful and kind. The food is usually bland, but they offer a lot of options usually. My only complaint is that my call button was pretty wonky, but luckily there was a phone to call nurses directly. All in all, this was a nice hospital with great staff. read more
