According to our home warranty company, a return duct was damaged while they were installing the insulation, causing insulation to be pushed into our heat pump unit. I called Ulises and told him if the issue and he refuses to pay for the damage we are having to repair due to his workers' carelessness and lack of professionalism. The water heater was installed 2 1/2 years ago by Rivival Heating and the anode rod needed to be replaced because "Portland water is so hard and full of minerals". The original quote for labor alone (not covered under warranty) was $340 but we got the manager to bring it down to $250. Still, the water heater is only 2 1/2 years old and that was an expense we did not anticipate when we bought the water heater. The prior one was not broken but when we had Rivival replace our furnace, they strongly suggested replacing the water heater at the same time. The old one never produced brown water but after just two years, the new one did. Maybe the water heater wasn't as good as the previous one? Not sure... Forgot to add, my home warranty service said they could not reimburse me because this is a "warranty issue". And to be truthful, the furnace job was great! Just wish the water heater repair didn't cost me anything. Next year, when it is out of warranty, I'll be able to file for reimbursement from my home warranty provider.

I contacted them expecting them to stand behind their work, and they are refusing to fix it. So, to recap: their installation created a costly structural problem during construction, and now the brand-new cooling system they installed has failed during its first season of use -- and they won't take responsibility for repairing it.
