While Dane was wonderful in replacing our water heater's anode rod, it was quite bothersome that we had to pay $250 to have it replaced on a part covered under warranty. The water heater was installed 2 1/2 years ago by Rivival Heating and the anode rod needed to be replaced because "Portland water is so hard and full of minerals". The original quote for labor alone (not covered under warranty) was $340 but we got the manager to bring it down to $250. Still, the water heater is only 2 1/2 years old and that was an expense we did not anticipate when we bought the water heater. The prior one was not broken but when we had Rivival replace our furnace, they strongly suggested replacing the water heater at the same time. The old one never produced brown water but after just two years, the new one did. Maybe the water heater wasn't as good as the previous one? Not sure... Forgot to add, my home warranty service said they could not reimburse me because this is a "warranty issue". And to be truthful, the furnace job was great! Just wish the water heater repair didn't cost me anything. Next year, when it is out of warranty, I'll be able to file for reimbursement from my home warranty provider. read more

I originally called to get an estimate to clean my crawl space but had found out they worked on mini splits as well. So at my first meeting with Robert. I told him my issue with the crawl space and that there was a huge Daikin mini split in the back bedroom was not working properly to cool the house in the hotter months. It seemed to do alright in the cooler months to heat the 2 back rooms. With me not knowing much about a water pump Robert was able to answer all my questions and educate me about how the system works and the best layout of the units to cool and heat my house adequately. Robert went over the different models along with the various prices. I believe the prices was comparable to the other businesses in the area. I decided to go ahead and replace my unit with a Mitsubishi with 3 heads. Installation by Brent and his crew went very smoothly. They came in and did a phenomenal job. They were all courteous, mindful of the pets in the house, answered any questions and went over how the unit works, took care of my concern with the crawl space and left the area very clean after the job was done. Dane, with Revival HVAC was sent out to my place for my yearly tuneup and did a wonderful job he also came back out when I was hearing loud noises in my old furnace, and he replaced a sensor because my heater was conflicting whether it was on or off and that was a tough job because it's an older furnace, but he found a way to get it to work and it was replaced and it works really well and I talked with him a little bit further because my furnace is getting older and I am going to have to replace it in the near future. I think he does great work, knowledgeable, honest willing to educate you on how the furnace works. I look forward to him being my Tech in the future. I am very happy. Okay. These guys were out here this past winter to fix my furnace, and I'd charitably left my initial 5 star review up even though I had to call them back out a few days later to re-fix it. But this summer when I tried to fire up my A/C, nothing happened. I called the guys who'd installed the A/C a few years ago and they found THE AC WIRE IN THE FURNACE DISCONNECTED AND DELIBERATELY GROUNDED (as in securely wrapped to a piece of the furnace structure, not as in 'it came loose somehow'). There is NO reason this should have been done while repairing the furnace. The A/C worked fine last year. The only people who'd been interacting with the system since then were Revival. The most charitable explanation is that the guy from revival was bad at his job, in weird and creative ways. A cynical view is that he sabotaged my A/C hoping that I'd call Revival to fix it come summer. Neither explanation reflects well on the company. Update: apparently they figured out who I am and didn't take the hint from me blocking the first number they called from and tried another. Robert, it was the blue wire in the furnace, not in the external A/C, that was grounded. I added clarification above. Unless you're suggesting someone broke into my house and tampered with the furnace, it had to be your guy. Take your veiled legal threats elsewhere. I would suggest steering far clear of this company. They do not stand by their work, do not accept responsibility for their errors and insist that you pay in full before they come to diagnose their own problems. I paid over $10,000 for them to install a furnace that doesn't fit in the space that my old furnace was in and the owner still claims hat they are identical in size, despite inspections and photos to the contrary. Furthermore, my 2nd furnace lost all power on the same afternoon they they did the install of the new one and they claim it couldn't possibly have anything to do with what they did. I dealt directly with the owner on multiple occasions and all he cared about was getting paid and denying responsibility vs. resolving the problem. read more

20k to be cold. We purchased a heat pump in 2021 and it won't keep up when temperatures get below 35 degrees. They came out several times to adjust it said it should be working and it's the right size and product...but it's not. They suggested weatherizing our house but we're out of money. I am not entirely sure what the issue is, just that we're cold in the winter relying on other forms of heat and the attempts to fix it are half hearted. We were told that this heat pump would heat our home in 5 degree weather. I would expect them to correct this issue and acknowledge they sold us a product that does not work for our home, but instead im bringing out some space heaters while paying off a loan. read more

Had scheduled an appointment for routine maintenance, the first appointment available was 3 weeks out. The day before my scheduled appointment, Revival had a scheduling snafu (it happens), but rather than sending out a different technician, or someone from their leadership team to take care of my appointment in a timely manner, they threw me to the back of the line and had me wait another 2 weeks to get my unit serviced. They also misquoted me the first time and offered me nothing for the scheduling error, even though I had already rearranged my schedule for them to be here. First world problems for sure, I just expect more customer service and care in a crowded industry. My advice, is if you have to move a customer appointment on your end, do everything you can to put them at the front of the line for the next service appointment or offer a significant discount for the inconvenience. Customer service didn't show a lot of empathy. There are plenty of HVAC servicers to choose from and I will try my luck with a different one next time. Sonny, the technician, gets 5 stars. I am sitting here in 100 degree weather, immensely grateful for my choice to go with Revival Energy for the installation of a Mini Ductless Split AC installation in my condo unit. I went through an extensive quote process with 5 other local providers and Revival was not the cheapest- but they were also far and away the most thorough. Keaton worked with me on the estimate process- answering my thousand questions as I compared my options, and always being truthful with the potential costs and reasons for his recommendation. COOL, CONVENIENT SERVICE With WFH being the new norm, we were looking for multiple quotes for central A/C since our home already has air ducts, we were lucky that Robert B. was the Sr Building Analyst sent over to check our house. We had estimates in hand, all of them offered one single A/C vendor and accessories and such that brought the price over $13K. Robert spent more time inspecting the house, removed a few plates from the furnace to check the components, reviewed wires, etc. He also asked to use our dining room so he could work a bit on drawing some diagrams. He easily spent 1 hour (They don't charge for this) and guided me through about 5 or 6 options that could fit our home, as well as financing plans through available via a credit union they work with often. Robert, just like the other salespeople, was very transparent and explained to me that A/C is in high demand not only due to WFH but because people are at home all day. During the installation day, things moved FAST . It also helped that Robert himself came to help the guys finish in one single day. Then something happened: On a hot Saturday night, after having the brand new systems coupled with our old furnace, a wire got disconnected and the A/C stopped working! So I texted Robert asking for help. Sunday morning he called me to explain what could possibly be and discuss options. Monday morning, Robert was in my house with some spare parts, checking the system which WAS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY as soon as he showed up. Classic. Unwilling to supply quote for insulation due to original and current insulation being vermiculite. Told they had to test and charge me for test before they would even supply a quote. Never once, during the many communications to setup the meeting, was this ever mentioned. No one should ever have to pay for a test that they did not agree to just to get a quote for the actual service. We got referred to them by our neighbor and it was in the middle of of the heat wave. Our air conditioner completely shut down and we have a toddler so I was freaking out. We called them around 8:30 am and by 12 our air conditioning was fixed and we were saved! The Scottish man who showed up (we don't know his name) was super nice and he comes to appointments in a fully stocked truck, which is so great because things could get fixed asap. Also, our friend is an A/C guy in Portland and when we told him how much we paid for Revival to come out and fix our problem, he said "that's a great price and I would have charged a few hundred more for that". I had a meeting come up, but that is irrelevant - Kristin is 100% qualified to make our decisions. Ben is a sexist pig. He treated Kristin with no respect and decided that as a woman, she couldn't make the decisions even though she repeatedly told him that she could. This is absolutely abhorrent behavior. Please avoid this company. Ben left saying to Kristin "If Matt's interested, you can have him call me, I'm just annoyed I didn't get to walk him through everything" Ben - You need to treat women with dignity and respect. I asked Revival for a quote to install attic insulation. They sent Keaton so an estimate could be prepared. I never received an estimate, only a verbal quote from Keaton before he left. To be completely transparent, I told Keaton I would be seeking an estimate from one of their competitors and price would be a factor in my decision, but certainly not the only factor as I'm also interested in understanding each company's selling points. Keaton told me he would not provide an estimate if all I was going to do was share it with their competitor, which I assured him I would not do if he was truly concerned/offended by this. I told him he could send it to me a few days later, after the other company prepared their estimate if he did not want me to share it with them. He told me what the cost of the job would be and that he'd send an estimate in a few days. It's been over a month and I never heard back from this company. After thinking about it, why is comparing estimates such an issue for this company? Are homeowners not supposed to gather estimates from multiple contractors to ensure they're getting a fair price? It turned out the verbal estimate I received from Keaton was over twice the amount quoted by a different company. I was careful to catalog in my own notes all the work Keaton said they would do and made sure the same work was included in the quote I received from the company I ended up going with (again, at less than half the price). It really felt like he was just trying to get rid of me and I'm honestly baffled by this. I decided to leave this review so that other customers would make sure to get quotes from competitor companies before moving forward with Revival. read more

I have an air conditioner I hardly use. It died in the extreme heatwave we had. So I turned it off, and called Revival. They fit me in pretty quickly, and I must say that they lived up to their name. Apparently, just ignoring maintenance on an air conditioner you're not using isn't healthy for it. He listed all sorts of things that had gone wrong with it, but the but the technician was able to somehow get it working anyway. I'm aware I probably damaged it by not keeping it maintained, but the company was able to bring the thing back from the dead, which is about all anyone could ask for. read more
